Ihiko was proud and every toa in the Toa Vashta knew it, as a prodigy in her element of lightning and brutal fighter she was able to cause even the most hardened of skakdi to surrender. "You need to be careful sister," Omakon said, the toa of gravity knew how recklessness could be dangerous as he lost a member of the team before Ihiko joined due to overcharging his powers of sonics, he would never forget the sight. "Whatever you say," Ihiko laughed boastfully, much to Omakon's dismay.
Unfortunately, fate isn't always kind to arrogance. The toa of lightning and the team were fighting a horde of bruisers when she charged in, lightning through her body; the feeling made her feel alive and then a loud smash. Sudenly, breathing was growing harder and with a cough, she felt blood trickle from her mouth and lungs. As she fell to her knees, she placed her hand on her chest and then slumped. "Sister!" She heard Tyrik, the toa of air yell, she saw him run to resuscitate her as everything turned black.
She awoke at the sounds of a monster and the hiss of a respirator. "You're lucky you have such a good team," scorned a turaga as Ihiko felt tears run down her face. She could speak, only nod in agreement. Ir took months before the damage was repaired as much as it could and her hau adapted for fitting tubes to an air tank. In time she was back to her team, though she would always be cautious and has been a better toa and warrior since.
