Kate was shocked by this. Why would the government injure so many innocent people?
One thing was for sure, they needed to get back to Octo Bunker. As the exited the inn, they pondered how they would get back so quickly. Suddenly, they heard a military helicopter passing overhead. They had an idea! They super jumped up and grabbed ahold of the helicopter’s rails, they were so light, the pilot didn’t feel a change of weight! Kate crawled across the rail, slipping into the cargo hold. She had saved the last of her shockink and put it into a splat bomb. She peeked through the window on the door, and saw the pilot. She quietly opened the door, and tossed the bomb. It exploded, shocking and knocking him out. Kate opened the door, and tossed him out. As the pilot fell, Seth stuck his finger in the release ring on the pilots parachute. As gravity pulled down the pilot, the string got longer and longer. However, he didn’t anticipate how heavy he would be, and got yanked off!
Now Seth was falling too. As he was still holding onto the ring, he yanked it. The parachute shot out, greatly slowing their fall. Seth opened the map in his mind and super jumped to Kate, who caught him. She seemed much fresher then usual. They helped the other Octolings into the cockpit. Seth had some experience piloting Octarian UFOs, so he took the controls. Kate asked ”So Seth, how did you get here anyway?”
“I got kidnapped by some Octolings, who interrogated me about something I didn’t know. They tried to torture me with a super hot laser, and suddenly I started spinning around and fainted. The next thing I knew, I was in a bed in your house”
“well, I think I know a plan to send you back to your world. I’ll explain when we get there”
When they got back, it was quite lively. The eggs the women had laid earlier had hatched, so there were now several babies in the bunker. Some had started crawling, but most were still immobile. They would need to absorb more ink from their mothers to grow, as they did not even have a mouth yet. Suddenly, a person outside started speaking in Octoling
“Can you let me in? I just barely woke up as an Octoling, and I’m trying to hide from the government. I sensed lots of Octolings here so please let me in!
Seth raised the cover a little and said. “Here you go, just change forms and slip through”
They said “uh, can you open it up all the way? I want to make sure you are really an Octoling.”
Seth did that, but there wasn’t an Octoling there. It was a scientist from Area 51! He was holding a giant laser with a snowflake on the side! He said ”Octolings, surrender yourself to Area 51 for containment, or you will get frozen by this gun!” nobody moved so he started it up. It took some time to charge up, but after it was done, it fired, freezing the grate solid. With a kick, it shattered, allowing him into Octo Bunker. “Final warning!” it began charging up again, but at the last moment, Seth knocked it into the air. It flipped around and froze the scientist!
Kate said ”my plan is, we could reverse the polarity of the gun so it fires a super hot beam instead of a cold one. That way, you might be able to get sent back to your world.”
They decided to try it. Seth grabbed the air freezer, switched around its connections, and put it back in. they tested it out, and it was able to roast some marshmallows from the bunker’s kitchen. Kate set the gun on a table in front of Seth, and started it up. Suddenly, a baby started crawling through the path of the beam. With just seconds left until it fired, Kate ran and pushed the baby out of the way. However, right as she pushed it out of the way, the beam fired, engulfing her and Seth in a burning light. Inside the gun, the air heater was overheating, causing the beam to overheat as well. Kate’s clothes start to burn, as do Seth’s. It was rather fortunate that her undergarments were fireproof! Suddenly, there is a loud cracking sound as the barrier between dimensions breaks down. Kate and Seth get sucked into the portal. Kate watches as scraps of burnt cloth swirl around them, then she gets really dizzy from swirling around so much, and faints.
Kate wakes up on a couch bed, next to Seth, who is only in his underwear. She stretches, and notices she is in her underwear as well! She remembered her clothes all got burnt by the hot laser! Suddenly, she heard a door open! She covers herself out of embarrassment, nearly inking. Huh? How did she know she was going to ink? Then she remembered, Octolings unwillingly ink when frightened. All Octolings know that. She had known it her whole life. Wait, whole life? Had she forgotten about her life as a human? She tried to remember her favorite human memories, but they were all blurry. Even what happened just a few hours prior were fading away, like some kind of dream. And \what a dream it was! She heard Seth yawn, and he woke up. He was so cute! The way his tentacle flopped when he sat up was adorable. When he stretched, Kate saw that he had armpit hair. That was surprising, but then she remembered she already knew Octolings could have armpit tentacles. An Inkling boy walked in, saying “Seth! You’re awake! I missed you! Who is this girl, by the way?” “I-I’m Kate” “I’m Matt, nice to meet you! By the way, I brought these clothes for you guys. I hope you aren’t bothered by the lack of feminine clothing, Kate.” They put on the clothes. Seth was glad to be back in his world…
Back at Octo Bunker, the other Octolings picked up the scientist (who was still frozen). There was a large ditch pretty close by, so they tossed him in there. After a while, a shattering sound was heard…
