Zoro PoV
It has been four months since summer ended and we all started school once again. I looked around the campus as I tried finding the gym. I usually walk with Luffy but he ran off with Usopp somewhere this morning. As I rounded the corner I noticed a few others from our crew. Nami was sitting on a bench next to Chopper looking at him as he talked about his med classes I assume. I looked to the side of Nami to see Sanji holding two different tupperware with snacks in it. I walked towards them as he handed them to Chopper and Nami, she smiled at him and thanked him for the snacks. He swayed around her with a huge grin.
"Anything for you Nami-swan" He said loudly. I rolled my eyes as others around also gave him weird looks. Stupid cook, always so annoying.
"Oh hey! it's Zoro" Chopper yelled excitedly waving his arms at me. The cook stopped in his tracks.
"The hell do you want marimo?" He asked with a slight glare. "You get lost again?" He asked, now smirking as he shoved his hands in his pants pockets.
"Shut it, idiot cook" I replied glaring at him as he came up to me ready to fight. We continued yelling at each other. He kicked me a few times and I blocked him with my arm. I pulled my fist back but stopped when I heard a familiar voice interrupt us.
"You guys are already fighting?" We turned to the voice as Chopper jumped up running to them.
"Usopp! Luffy!" He yelled as he jumped onto Luffy's back giggling. Luffy had a huge grin on his face and Usopp walked over sitting next to Nami.
"Yeah, ever since Sumner ended you two seem to be arguing more easily now" Nami stated, crossing her arms over her chest giving us an irritated look.
"She's right you guys seem to be annoyed more than in the past" Chopper added as Luffy snuck up behind Nami to try and steal food. I watched as she moved it away from him as she smacked his head. After he pouted she rolled her eyes and moved it back towards him. He broke out into a smile as he grabbed some.
"It's nothing," Sanji said, rolling his eyes as he pulled another box of snacks out of his bag. This time it was bigger and he handed it to Luffy. He also handed one to Usopp.
"Curly brow is just annoying" I mumbled as we glared at each other. Nami and Usopp stood up.
"Whatever. Class is gonna start soon so see you idiots later" Nami said as her, Usopp and Chopper walked away.
"Hey wait for me!" Luffy yelled, grabbing his snacks and running towards them. He turned around and waved at us, almost tripping before catching up with the others. Sanji started to walk away, but I grabbed his elbow to stop him.
"What the hell is up your ass this morning? They were my friends first so I don't know why you're getting mad at me showing up around them" I snapped as he stood in place. He snatched his arm out of my grasp and turned to me, anger in his eyes.
"Don't play that shit with me, jerk. Not my fault if your ugly face irritates me first thing in the morning." I glared back at him as he threw the insult.
"You're the one who broke up with me, or did you forget" I said quietly as I stepped closer to him. I watched as what looked like pain flashed across his eyes before it quickly went away and turned to a glare.
"Shut it" He snapped as he backed away. "I don't even know why I ever got involved with you. it was a stupid summer fling just let it go already." He finished as he stormed off. I watched him leave as I felt my chest ache.
"Asshole" I muttered as I made my way to the gym. Once I finally found it I made my way inside putting my earbuds in to block out any unnecessary sounds as I started my warm up.
Sanji PoV
After getting away from Zoro, I made my way to the culinary arts building. I sighed and rubbed my hand under my eyes to wipe the few stray tears that fell.
"Dammit, idiot marimo making me cry. I hate him" I said to myself as the building came into view. I opened the door and walked to my first class of the day. As I sat at my station and started to set everything up as I waited for the rest of the students to show up.
I watched the door as people started coming in before pulling out my phone. I opened the messages app and opened the group chat.
sanji: Hey Robin, Franky, and Brook, I have some snacks I made for everyone, meet me after class so you can get them!
robin: awe thank you sanji 😊
brook: YOHOHOHO Thank you Sanji! I'll see you in a bit
franky: yo you're SUUUPER bro
I smiled as I set my phone down onto the counter. I looked down at my back knowing that there's four Tupperware full of snacks instead of just three left. The thought made my mind wander back to Zoro. I frowned thinking about him. I thought back to the week before we all came to school.
It was a week before the fall classes started. We just got done hanging out as a group and figuring out what we were all doing. Luffy and Zoro just closed on an apartment together and me and Usopp got one in the same building.
Nami refused to live with any of us so she ended up finding a roommate, who is becoming a fast friend. Vivi is a sweet girl. "Weird that we'll be joining Robin and Franky on campus now." I turned in bed and looked at Zoro. We just got back to my house from hanging out with the crew. I nodded in agreement.
"Yeah and Brook said we're always welcome at his music club off campus too." I added as I leaned into his side more. We laid there in silence for a while enjoying each other's presence.
"I think we should tell everyone we're together"
"I think we should break up" We spoke at the same time. I froze as I heard what Zoro said. He sat up and lightly pushed me off him.
"What did you just say?" He asked as I stared at my lap. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat as my heart beat rapidly against my chest.
"I said I think we should break up." I repeated quietly. "I want to focus on my studies, besides this was just a summer thing right? no need to stay together anymore" I said with a chuckle. I finally looked at him and felt my heart drop. He looked so heartbroken.
"You're being serious?" He asked quietly, almost a whisper. I gasped slightly as I saw his eyes water slightly. He turned away and stood up.
"Zoro wait-"
"Wait for what?" He snapped as he turned and glared at me. "You want to break up? Fine see if I give a shit". He said loudly before walking out of the room. I heard the front door slam as I stood in the hallway.
"What the hell was that about?" I turned towards Zeff, my adoptive father, with a frown. He gave me a concerned look as I felt warm tears run down my cheeks. I ignored him and slowly turned back to my room, closing the door as my heart beat against my chest. What did I just do?
I came back to the present as my professor yelled my name.
"Sorry sir, here" I replied as I felt my face heat up.
After class I walked out of the building to see Robin and Franky standing under a tree in the shade. I walked over as Robin laughed about something Franky said and leaned into his side.
"Oh hello Sanji," Robin said with a small smile. I smiled back as I held their snacks out to them.
"Hello Milady" I replied and winked at her. They both ignored that and said thank you for the snacks.
"Me and Franky are gonna go see Brook at his club if you want us to bring him his snacks" I nodded at Robin as she and Franky both took a bite of theirs. I crouched down and opened my bag.
"Ow! These are great as always bro" Franky cheered as I pulled Brooks box out. I stood back up and handed it to Robin.
"Thanks Franky" I replied with a smile. Hearing everyone enjoying the food I make them always makes waking up early worth it.
"Sanji, if you don't mind me asking, who's snacks are left in your bag?" I looked back at Robin with a frown.
"I made some for marimo but forgot to give them to him earlier". I mumbled as I looked away. I heard her hum quietly.
"Well I saw him going to his first class if you want to go give it to him" She said pointing towards the building he goes to. I nodded and excused myself.
I walked the opposite way and luckily the two didn't ask any questions. I made my way to the apartment and to the fourth floor to mine and Usopps. I unlocked the door and stepped inside before closing it behind me. As I walked further into the room I heard voices in the living room. I walked in to see Usopp, Luffy and Nami. Nami was sitting on the couch with a controller in hand currently beating Usopp at the game they were playing. Usopp was sitting on the floor in front of Nami yelling about her cheating. Luffy was sitting on the back of the couch yelling at Usopp telling him what to do to beat Nami.
"Luffy, can you sit on the couch like a normal person?" I said with a sigh as I crossed my arms.
"Oh Sanji you're home" Usopp said as he glanced at me before quickly looking back at the TV.
"Sanji! Make me some food" Luffy yelled excitedly.
"This is my apartment jackass, stop demanding shit" I yelled at him with a glare before making my way to the kitchen. I mumbled as I pulled ingredients from the fridge and cabinets.
"Make sure to make sure there is enough Chopper and Zoro are coming and maybe Robin and Franky, after their classes are over" Usopp said before he groaned at Nami winning. I froze as he mentioned Zoro. I looked at my bag that was hanging from the hook by the door. The snacks I made for Zoro are still sitting there. I frowned as I made more of the sandwiches. I set some on a separate platter and brought them out to the living room. Luffy immediately dug in. I watched as Usopp handed a couple to Nami on a small plate I set out. I went back to the kitchen and grabbed some drinks for everyone before sitting on the couch between Luffy and Nami.
An hour passed before a knock was heard from the door. Usopp tossed his controller at Luffy who continued to play for him. I looked towards the door as Chopper, Robin, Franky, and of course Zoro walked in. I watched as Zoro flopped down on the beanbag we had. Franky sat in the chair and pulled Robin to sit on his lap. Chopper sat on the floor next to Usopp. Nami and Luffy continued yelling at each other over the game. I stared at the TV occasionally glancing at Zoro as he closed his eyes.
"Sanji! your snacks were really good today" I looked down as Chopper smiled at me. I smiled back as a chorus of yeahs and agreements rang out. Everyone except Zoro agreed.
"Zoro, did you not like Sanji's snacks?" Luffy asked as he cocked his head to the side pouting towards Zoro. I frowned as he looked up at Luffy.
"Didn't get any" He replied before laying his head back. It got silent and I noticed Usopp and Robin looking at me. I felt my face heat up before they both looked away.
"Sorry marimo must have forgotten." I mumbled as I crossed my arms and slid down slightly. He shrugged.
"Don't really care, shitty cook, I ate before I left this morning." He replied. I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.
"I didn't want to feed you anyway, you can starve. Stupid marimo" I said, rolling my eyes. More hours went by of them playing games, and the others having their own conversations. Nami eventually got tired of playing and let the others play. I watched them all in silence as they took turns. I found myself looking towards Zoro who was also spacing out often. I watched as he stood up, stretching.
"Luffy, we should go back to our place. It's getting late." Zoro said as he looked at Luffy. Luffy started whining about wanting to stay.
"What's wrong, are you scared you'll get lost on your way home?" I said with a smirk. He glared at me then turned back to Luffy.
"You said you have an early class tomorrow so let's go". Luffy threw his head back and groaned. He stood up mumbling about stupid classes. He said bye to everyone as they walked out. After they left everyone else slowly started to leave. Nami was the last to leave.
"Want me to walk you home?" I asked as I walked her to the door.
"No, that's alright. I'll be fine thanks though." I nodded as she stepped out. "Hey Sanji, before I go. Is there something going on between you and Zoro? You usually make sure we all eat something even if you're upset with one of us." I frowned at her as she looked at me with a concerned look. "You don't like it when we go hungry," She added, smiling softly. I sighed before smiling at her.
"I forgot his on the counter this morning. He didn't want it earlier so I didn't bother." I lied, She nodded slowly looking like she didn't fully believe me.
"Well okay then. See you guys tomorrow. Bye Usopp". She said waving at him. We both said bye and I closed the door locking it.
"Forgot to give it to him huh?" Usopp said, looking at me with a raised eyebrow. "Cause it looks to me like it was in your bag this morning." I frowned at him as he crossed his arms. "I don't understand why you broke up with him if you were just going to act like it was the end of the world". I glared at him.
"It's none of your business" I snapped going to my room.
"Yeah you're right it's not. But you're both my friends and I can see how much it's hurting you both." I froze outside my door before turning to him. "Sanji, I saw how good you two were together. I was definitely confused when I accidentally found you guys that one day at school but I just can't understand why you would break up with him. You seemed so happy. I just don't get it. You're obviously not over him so why don't you talk to him about it?"
"It's too late for talking, Usopp. We broke up and that was the end of it. We're done with this conversation." I finished coldly as I closed my bedroom door. I silently got ready for bed and pulled back the blankets to lay down. I laid in silence looking at the ceiling. I blinked away the tears as I thought about the three months after graduation I spent with Zoro. I fell asleep with an ache in my chest and tears in my eyes.
Zoro PoV
Luffy went to bed quickly, his snoring could be heard faintly from the other room. I sighed as I looked up at the ceiling in my bedroom. I turned my head to look at the moon. The last four months have been an endless cycle of staying up late thinking about the same things. Talking out into the darkness towards the moon as if it would give me answers to my problems.
"He forgot to give me snacks" I grumbled to myself as I stared up at the ceiling. It sounds so stupid saying it out loud. I glanced at the end table by my bed and grabbed my phone. I unlock the screen and open the messages. I scroll down until I find his contact.
Love Cook
I clicked on it and read the last message he sent me.
love cook: goodnight darling 💛
I clicked on the bar to start typing.
why didn't you give me sna|
I quickly deleted the message.
why do you act like nothing happened between us|
I deleted that one too.
I miss you, love cook|
My thumb hovered over the send button before I deleted it. I sighed as I locked my phone and set it back on the table. I rested my hands on my chest as I blinked up at the ceiling. I felt my eyes burn with unshed tears.
"Do you lay like this too curly brow?" I whispered trying to fall asleep.
Sanji PoV
I woke up early again as the sun was starting to rise. I sat up on the edge of my bed and looked out the window. The sky was painted hues of pink, yellow, and orange.
"Did I make a mistake breaking up with him?" I whispered out to no one. "are you moving on yet marimo?" I added as I stood up and walked towards the bathroom connected to my room. I turned on the light and looked into the mirror. My eyes were red and baggy. I sighed as I turned on the faucet. I leaned down and splashed my face with water.
Once I was ready for the day I walked to the kitchen. I started to pull stuff out to make breakfast. I heard a door open down the hall and then another close before the shower was turned on. When I finished breakfast I placed it on two plates then boxed the rest up separately for everyone else. I set the plates on the coffee table as Usopp walked out in pants and a towel around his shoulders. His hair is still wet.
"Thank you Sanji!" He said happily as he sat down and ate his breakfast. I pulled out my phone, opening our group chat.
sanji: Hey I made breakfast so if you're awake let me know and I'll come drop it off for everyone, Nami let Vivi know I made her some too
nami: okay, thank you sanji :)
robin: me and Franky are awake 😊
zoro: luffy already went to class
usopp: why did he schedule such an early class?
zoro: I guess his grandpa made him or something
brook: I'm awake as well
sanji: alright I'll bring everyone some food then
usopp: don't forget zoro's on the counter this time
I looked over at Usopp with a glare. "I'll kill you"
"Love you too, Sanji" He said, rolling his eyes with a smirk. I looked back at my phone as it vibrated
zoro: oh so that's what happened yesterday 🙄
sanji: shut up, stupid marimo
I closed my phone and stood up. I grabbed Usopp's plate as he walked back to his room. I grabbed all of the food and quickly made my way out of the apartment. I walked to the elevator and went to the fifth floor. I walked down the hallway until I stopped outside Nami's apartment. I knocked and waited until the door was swung open by Vivi. She smiled and welcomed me in.
"Nami is just finishing getting ready" I nodded as I set their breakfast down on the counter. "Thank you so much, your food is delicious." She said as she began eating. Nami walked out and immediately started eating hers.
"Thank you Sanji," She said with a smile. I blushed and smiled at both of them.
"It's my pleasure ladies" I said as I swayed around them. "Well please enjoy, I have to get the rest to the others" they waved bye as I left. I then made my way back to the elevator.
I went to the second floor and walked to Luffy and Zoro's place. I knocked on the door with no answer. I waited a few more minutes before trying again. I rolled my eyes before leaving. I then made my way to Brook, then Robin and Franky.
Once I got them their food I made my way to Luffy's class. As I approached the building I heard his excited yelling. I rounded the corner and saw him hanging off someone. As I got closer I noticed it was his older brother Ace. Sabo was sitting on the bench and next to him was Zoro. I walked over and stopped next to Ace and Luffy. Ace turned to me and smirked.
"Oh hey pretty boy" He said as Luffy jumped off his back. I felt my face heat up and I looked away from him. Zoro was glaring at him but stopped when he saw me look over.
"Sanji, did you bring the food?" Luffy asked loudly. I nodded, handing it to him with a plastic fork. He immediately opened it and dug in. I pulled out the last one and handed it to Zoro. He said a small thanks before eating.
"Sorry, I didn't know you guys would be here, or else I would have made some extra" I said turning to Sabo and Ace. Ace wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer.
"It's all good, it was a surprise visit for Luffy anyway" He said, leaning his head against mine. I felt my face heat up again as Ace got closer. I looked at him as he smirked down at me.
"Oh thanks Zoro! Are you ful- hey wait where are you going?" I turned back to the others as Luffy yelled at Zoro. He was storming off.
"Going to the gym" He muttered as he clenched his fists at his sides.
"It's the other way," Luffy and I said at the same time. He groaned before going the opposite way. I frowned as he disappeared around the corner.
"Wonder what's wrong with him," Sabo said as he turned to us.
"Probably doesn't like Ace flirting with Sanji" Luffy said with a mouth full of food. We all turned to him. My eyes wide. Ace pulled away.
"My bad dude, didn't know you were spoken for" I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"I'm not" I snapped before storming off.
"Definitely something going on with those two" I heard Sabo say before I couldn't hear them anymore.
Zoro PoV
Stupid cook flirting with Luffy's stupid brother. I thought to myself as I walked into the gym. I quickly started my warm up so I could clear my mind.
Later once I was done with my workout, I stepped out of the building and pulled my phone out.
zoro: Hey Franky can you get us more booze for our hang out tonight?
brook: why don't you guys just come here to Rumbar and take one of the private rooms for the night
zoro: sounds good to me
nami: usual time? and can Vivi come?
chopper: Vivi is coming??
luffy: YAY CAN'T WAIT
zoro: usual time is good for me
I watched as everyone replied in agreement. I put my phone away and made my way to my only class for the day.
"Luffy let's go!" I yelled as I stood by the door.
"Just go, I'll meet you there" I rolled my eyes before opening the door. I stopped as Sanji and Usopp stood in front of me.
"We were gonna walk with you guys" Usopp said as he stepped inside.
"Luffy is still getting ready I guess so I'll see you guys there" I said as I walked past Sanji and down the hall. I stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor. I watched as someone stopped the door from closing. Sanji stepped in and then closed the door. We stood on opposite sides of the elevator in silence. "Why did ya follow me?" I asked quietly as I crossed my arms.
"Don't need you getting lost and ruining everyone else's night" He said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes as I stormed out of the elevator after the doors opened. "Oh come on marimo I was just kidding" He said chuckling. I ignored him and continued walking. "You're going the wrong way." I stopped as my patience was running thin. I turned around and walked back towards him. I grabbed him by his elbow and pulled him around the corner away from anyone who might be around.
"What's your fucking problem" I snapped as I shoved him by his chest. He glared back at me. "You don't get to do this. You're the one who broke up with me. You don't get to act all cold and mad at me all the time. Like it was my fault. You're the one who ended it so stop acting like you're the one who's heart broken. You are the one who fucked this up" I snapped, roughly poking him the chest before spinning around and walking towards The Rumbar. I stormed inside and to the back vip room we usually take up. I slammed the door open to see Nami, Vivi, Robin, Franky, and Brook sitting around the table. There was food and drinks laying out and Brook had his guitar out playing some music. "I need to get drunk" I snapped as I flopped down next to Franky and grabbed one of the bottles on the table.
"What the hell happened? and where's Luffy?" Nami asked, looking at me confused. I ignored her as I kept downing more booze. About an hour later Usopp and Luffy came in laughing about something. They sat down and Usopp looked around.
"Where's Sanji?" He asked, looking directly at me.
"Fuck if I know" I said drinking more. He frowned as he looked around at everyone else.
"He said he was going to walk with you though? What happened?" Luffy asked, looking confused and concerned. I rolled my eyes. Everyone slowly got quiet and looked at me.
"Who the fuck cares? If shitty cook wants to ditch us, that's on him" I said as I glared at Luffy and Usopp.
"dude what's your deal?" Usopp asked, glaring at me. I glared back slamming the bottle onto the table. I noticed Nami and Vivi jump slightly due to the sound. Luffy's arm flew out in front of them as he glared at me.
"Woah bro, why don’t you go step outside and get some air, cool off a bit." Franky said with a look of concern. I stood up and stormed out.
I wandered around for a while before stopping at a park bench. I slid down it and stared up at the sky. It's littered with sparkling stars helping the moon to light up the dark sky. I felt my face heat up and my eyes burn as tears began to fall.
"shitty cook making me feel these shitty feelings" I mumbled to myself.
"Tell me how to tell him," I whispered to the moon. "how do I tell him I stay awake at night thinking about him. Thinking about his stupid adorable curly eyebrows. His beautiful blue eyes, which remind me of the ocean. His kind heart. How much he cares about his friends and the people in his life." I sighed as I roughly rubbed away the tears. "Why can't I just tell him how much I miss him?" I yelled out to the empty air. "How much I miss his touch and his smile" I whispered as I curled into myself.
Sanji PoV
I watched as Zoro stormed off towards the Rumbar. I felt my hands shake as a sob left me. I covered my mouth as tears fell. I've been crying a lot lately, haven't I? I thought to myself as I slowly walked back into our apartment building. I walked to the elevator and quickly made my way back to my apartment. I unlocked the door and then made my way to my room. I collapsed onto my bed and pulled the blankets against myself.
Another sob ripped its way out of my throat. I cried until the tears dried and I was left to a sniffling mess. I took a deep breath as I rolled onto my back. I looked up at the ceiling. I clenched my eyes shut and forced myself to sleep.
I opened my eyes as sunlight slipped through the closed blinds. I sat up pulling my phone out and opening the unread messages.
1:26 am
usopp: Sanji is at home. looks like he's been asleep for a while. not sure what happened but he doesn't look too good :/
nami: what do you mean he doesn't look too good?
robin: hmm he did look a little tired when he dropped off breakfast
nami: zoro what the hell did you do!?
zoro: why is it my fault if the idiot cook didn't get sleep?
usopp: you were the last one to see him last night. So what did you do?
zoro: I didn't do shit. get off my back for fucks sake
8:03 am
sanji: Hey sorry to worry everyone last night. marimo didn't do anything, I just forgot I had some studying to do so I stayed home.
robin: I'm glad you're alright sanji
franky: yeah we missed you last night bro
sanji: I'll make sure to go next time.
I set my phone back down and walked over to my window. I opened the blinds and sat on the bench that sits under it. I grabbed a water bottle I had next to it and watered the plants that sit on the windowsill. After watering them I pulled my knees up to my chest and looked at the bright sky.
"should I just tell him how I'm feeling?" I asked out to no one in particular. I watched as the sun came out behind some clouds, as if telling me she's listening. "He's not the one, right? He was just a summer fling. I didn't make any mistakes when I broke it off. It was just something we did for fun as a one last childhood act." I felt my eyes watering. I heard Usopp moving around outside my room and sniffled. I heard his footsteps moving away from me and I sighed.
"Zoro." I whispered as I thought about the summer we spent together in secret. The sun against his golden skin. His smile when he'd look at me. His deep laugh when he'd watch a video that he found funny. The way he'd hold me when we were alone. The way his eyes would soften right before we kissed. The smell of his cologne when he'd hug me while I was cooking.
I didn't realize I was crying again until Usopp sat next to me.
"You need to talk to him, Sanji. You've been miserable for the past four months." I looked up at him and sniffled.
"I can't, he hates me, Usopp. I've been nothing but a jerk the last few months." I replied as I rested my chin on my knee.
"He doesn't hate you Sanji. And you guys have always fought with each other. You've always said dumb shit to get the other riled up. Look, I don't know your reasoning for breaking up with him. But I feel like it was the wrong decision. You're obviously upset about it. We've all agreed to just not say anything about it but you've looked like shit for a while. You have bags under your eyes and you always look exhausted. You space out when we hang out. You look horrible, Sanji. Please talk to Zoro" He finished resting his hands on my arms and giving me a pleading look.
"I can't," I whispered as more tears fell. He dropped his head and sighed before looking back up.
"If you don't talk to him I'm gonna step in and do something and it's not going to be in secret. You two have been worrying all of our friends and I've been the middle man to keep what you had a secret. Talk to him or I'm telling everyone why you guys are acting the way you are." He said as he handed me my phone and walked out of the room. I looked down at it and felt my eyes water more. I opened it and clicked on the messages app. I scrolled down to Zoro's contact. I opened it and looked at it.

I looked at the last thing that was sent between us.
sanji: goodnight darling 💛
He never answered me back because he was out with Luffy and the next day I ended things with us. I felt warm tears flow down my face as a sob broke through. I heard the door open again and I looked up to Usopp standing in the door.
"you better be crying because he said he doesn't want to talk to you".
"I can't, Usopp," I said as my voice cracked. His face softened and he walked over pulling me into a hug. He held me for a few minutes until I calmed down. "I messed up and now he hates me." I whispered as I clutched onto his shirt. I heard him sigh.
"It's Saturday so none of us had classes. Luffy wanted to hang out over here but I texted the group chat and told him we can't hang out here today. So he moved it to his apartment." I looked up at him as he explained to me. "I can stay home if you want, but you should get some rest." I shook my head.
"go, there's no need to ruin your weekend with our friends because I'm being pathetic". He sighed and smiled softly at me.
"Well you know where to find us when you're ready" I nodded as he pulled away and walked out. A couple minutes later he came back with a water bottle. I thanked him as he said he was heading out. I drank some water before getting back into bed.
Zoro PoV
I sat on the couch as we waited for the last two of our friends to come over. Luffy was sitting in the chair playing the switch. Brook was leaning against the back of Luffy's chair watching him. Nami and Vivi were sitting together on the other end of the couch looking at something on Nami's phone. Robin and Franky sat on the other chair. I watched as Robin got up and made her way to the girls to see what they were talking about. Nami turned her phone slightly so Robin could see too.
A few minutes later the door opened and I watched as Usopp walked in. I gave him a confused look.
"Where's Sanji?" Luffy asked. It got quiet and everyone else looked at Usopp.
"He's not feeling well today." He said as he took a seat next to me. I felt my heart beat faster. He never gets sick.
"Is he okay?" I ask without thinking. Usopp turned to me, a slight glare.
"no" He snapped before turning back to the others, his arms crossed over his chest.
We hung out for a few hours before Robin changed the subject.
"Are you sure Sanji is okay to be alone? He usually doesn't get sick." Everyone looked at her then at Usopp.
"He's not sick, he just doesn't feel well." He answered. I looked at him confused.
"Isn't that the same damn thing?" He looked down at his lap. A look on his face as if he's debating on what to say next. He let out a groan and threw his head back against the couch.
"fuck it you guys can forgive me later" He mumbled before he looked back up at everyone else. I felt my heart beat against my chest again. "I had him stay home to get some rest because he's a mess. He's been a mess for the last four months. He goes to bed early with tears in his eyes. He wakes up early and cries. The amount of times I've woken up only to hear his sobs in the next room, then ten minutes later hearing him cooking food for all of us. I've had to pretend not to notice for four months. I know you've all noticed him looking like shit. So I made him stay home so he could calm down and get some rest." Usopp explained as he looked at everyone.
"Is he homesick? I mean if it's been four months that's when you all joined here right?" Brook asked as he looked at us confused.
I looked down at my lap with wide eyes. Four months. I felt eyes on me and I looked up at Usopp. He was glaring at me. I glared back.
"What? You're not seriously blaming me are you?" I snapped as he glared harder.
"If the shoe fits" He said harshly. I glared at him.
"You can't be serious. You know what really happened so you know it wasn't my fault." I said, poking my finger into his chest.
"He thinks you hate him. He cried into my shirt for 10 minutes this morning because he thinks you hate him" He snapped as his glare deepened with anger. I felt my face fall before I stood up and ran to the door. I struggled to put my shoes on before giving up and just opening the door.
"What the hell are you guys talking about?" Nami yelled as I started walking out. I stopped and looked at Usopp. He ignored me and turned to Nami.
"Sanji and Zoro were d-" I didn't hear him finish because I slammed the door and ran to the elevator. I pressed the button multiple times. When it wouldn't open I ran to the stairs. I quickly ran to the fourth floor and to Sanji's apartment. I went to open the door but it was locked. I fished for my keys knowing I had a spare. Shit. I left them at the apartment. I sighed as I ran back to my place. I threw the door open and went to the key bowl. I noticed it was quiet and looked up at everyone who was giving me sad looks. I rolled my eyes and ran back out.
Once I was back at Sanji's I unlocked the door and stepped inside. It was quiet.
"Usopp?" I heard a broken voice from down the hall. My heart hurt from how sad he sounded. I walked to his room, stopping outside the door. "What are you doing back so early?" I twisted the door handle and opened the door stepping inside.
Sanji gasped and shot up looking at me with wide eyes.
"W-What are you doing here?" He asked as he looked at me shocked.
"How could you?" I asked softly. He looked scared. "How could you ever think I would hate you?" I whispered as tears pooled in my eyes. "I could never hate you, love cook." a hand shot to his mouth as a small sob left it. "you broke my heart but I never hated you for it". I said as I stepped closer to him. I slowly sat on the edge of his bed. We sat in silence for a few minutes. The only sound is his sniffles.
"I'm sorry" He whispered as he rubbed his eyes.
"Why did you do it?" I asked as I looked at him. "I thought we were going good. I thought we were happy, I thought you were happy." He looked down at his lap and took a deep, shaky breath.
"I was, we were," He said as he looked up. He blinked a few times before focusing on me. "I was scared" He whispered before looking down again. He didn't look back up. "I was scared it wouldn't work out. That we weren't going to work out. I was scared of getting hurt so I broke it off before I could. Which backfired because I still got hurt in the end" He finished quietly. I slowly moved my hand towards him and gently grabbed his hand. I heard him take a small breath. His bangs fell blocking his face slightly. I gently moved his hair to show both eyes as I pulled his face up to look at me. His eyes were blown wide as he looked at me. I moved my other hand to the other side of his face.
"Sanji, I would never break your heart. I wanted what we had to go for even longer. God, you have no idea how much I've missed you. How I've missed your smile, your eyes, your laugh." I paused and looked into his eyes. "your touch, everything about you, I've spent so many nights yelling at the night sky for not telling you how I felt. I think the moon knows more about you than anyone else" I said chuckling. He let out a small laugh as he smiled at me. "I don't hate you. and I never will. but for the love of God, can we try again?" He looked at me with a shocked expression.
"You want to try again?" He whispered as he rested his hands on my wrists. He moved, leaning his forehead against my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around him and rested my chin on his head. We sat like this for a while. Our breathing is the only thing heard.
He looked up at me and rested a hand against my cheek. His thumb lightly rubbed against my cheek. We looked into each other's eyes with soft expressions. His eyes flickered to my lips then back up. I smiled softly before leaning down into a kiss. It was slow and simple. He pulled away and looked at me with watery eyes.
"I'd like to try again too" He whispered as he smiled softly at me. I smiled back before rushing back into a kiss. I pushed him onto his back on the bed. We kissed for a while until I found myself under the covers holding him close to my chest. He has his arms wrapped around me and his face against my chest.
We laid in each other's embrace for a while. Enjoying the comfortable silence.
"The sun knows about you too. Although she doesn't give very good advice" I let out a laugh and pulled him closer.
After some more comfortable silence I took a deep breath. "Hey, love cook?" I asked softly.
"Yeah?" He answered, moving to look at me. I looked down at him and smiled softly. My hand moved to stroke his face lightly.
"I think I love you" I whispered and watched as his eyes got wide. I felt my heart beat faster against my chest. What am I saying? I watched as he smiled big.
"I think I love you too." I smiled, pulling him into another kiss before we held each other. Soon sleep took over both of us.
Sanji PoV
I opened my eyes to the sun shining through the blinds. I felt strong arms around me and smiled as I cuddled into Zoro's warm chest. I heard giggling from outside and them my phone vibrating.
"What the hell" I looked at Zoro as he blinked awake with an annoyed expression. "Oh hello" He said as his face softened into a smile.
"Good morning, marimo" I replied with a smile before giving him a quick kiss. I rolled over and grabbed my phone before turning back into him. I unlocked it opening the group chat.

nami: wait, that's so cute 😭 zoro being gentle??
luffy: is sanji gonna make us breakfast again?
usopp: luffy let them have this. please, the last 4 months have sucked 😭

I looked at Zoro as he smirked before we both got up. I quietly walked to the front door unlocking it before walking to Usopp's room. Zoro was already standing outside of it, his door knocking.
"It's okay Usopp you can come out." He said with a smirk. I walked up and knocked myself.
"Come on Usopp, we won't do anything. you can come on out" I added and smirked at Zoro. I heard the front door open and held my finger to my lips as our friends rounded the corner.
"I'm sorry but I think I'm coming down with something. it's called Ican'tcomeoutofmyroomitas." I started laughing as I walked to the kitchen. I grabbed a butter knife and walked back to his door. "Sanji? Did you get a butter knife?" I smirked.
"I don't know what you're talking about" I said as I put the tip of the knife along the outside of the lock and turned it. I opened the door and saw him in the corner curled up into a ball. Zoro walked in and grabbed him, throwing him over his shoulder. Usopp quickly gave up and dropped all his weight onto Zoro. He was unphased as he walked into the living room and threw Usopp onto the couch. Everyone found a spot to sit and watched as me and Zoro stood in front of Usopp.
"I really need to get a different lock." He mumbled as he crossed his arms.
"Usopp what did you do?" I asked with a smirk as I copied him and crossed my arms. He slid down the couch and pouted.
"took a picture of you guys while you were sleeping and sent it to everyone."
"which means?" Zoro asked, standing the same as me.
"I invaded your privacy." He paused and glanced up at us. "again." He added with a frown.
"And what was our one rule when we were alone together when you first found out." I asked.
"Too knock, which is a good idea considering how I found you guys th-" I quickly stopped him.
"Okay that's enough" I chuckled nervously as my face started to heat up. Zoro smirked at me before winking. I covered my face as I felt a little blood trickle from my nose. Usopp smirked as I wiped the blood away.
"Hey Usopp." Everyone looked at Zoro as he said Usopp's name loudly. "Thanks for being there for curly brow. and for telling us to get our shit together and talk." I stood up straight and looked at him surprised. "I finally got my love cook back" He said, smirking again. I felt my face heat up more and I wrapped my arms around myself before fast walking to the kitchen. Everyone was laughing and I couldn't stop smiling.
I was almost done with breakfast when Zoro walked in. I smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pressed a kiss behind my ear.
"I missed you curly" he whispered as he shoved his face into my neck. I wrapped an arm around his arm and moved slightly to give him a kiss.
"just now being in a different room or in general?" I asked, turning back to the food.
"both" He replied, hugging me tighter. I smiled, feeling light and happy.
"I missed you too my marimo" I whispered as I moved to plate the food. "I gotta get this food out before Luffy starts eating my apartment." Zoro threw his head back in a loud laugh.
"He's already tried" He replied as he grabbed a few plates to help bring them out. I went to sit next to Zoro and Usopp on the couch when I was pulled into Zoro instead.
"Wha" I said confused as he wrapped an arm around my waist and then grabbed his plate before eating like nothing happened. I felt my face heat up as I looked down at him. I smiled as I noticed his ears and cheeks turning red. I leaned down and kissed his forehead before I started to eat.
He looked at me softly as he leaned his head against my shoulder.
"my marimo" I whispered so only he would hear. He smiled softly at me.
"my love cook" He replied, just as quietly. We turned back to the group who were laughing at something Luffy was doing. I noticed Robin smiling fondly at us before she turned her attention to Luffy too.
I smiled, feeling happy and content with how things are at the moment. Hopefully there will be no more late nights and early mornings of staring at the empty ceiling wishing for things to change.
