“Mom, mom! Look at the lanterns, they are so beautiful!” A little girl pointed to the sky while hopping up and down nonstop. The mother smiled, petting her daughter on the head.
The mother glanced up at the sky, her gaze wandering into the universe. “I’m sure your father will enjoy it as well.” She whispered, Mo Guanshan tore his gaze away from them. It was quite heart-breaking to hear such a tragic accident happening on such a happy day.
“Mo-mo, here. Write something.” He Tian appeared again, with two lanterns dangling down from his hands. Mo Guanshan took a peek at the mother and daughter again, he averted He Tian’s glance and said, “let’s pass these to the daughter and mother there.” he pointed towards them.
He Tian resisted the urge to hug him, since they were in public. He had never thought that his Mo Guanshan had such a soft heart, so he immediately nodded and went towards the daughter and mother.
“Madam. This is for you,” He Tian kneeled down and passed the lantern to the girl, “and your daughter.” The mother shook her head frantically, trying to pass the lanterns back.
He Tain smiled, “take this as a gift from us.” He glanced at Mo Guanshan who immediately covered his head with his hoodie. The mother was hesitant but after much persuasion, she finally relented and accepted it.
“Thank you, kind sir..” The mother weeped, rubbing the tears off.
The little girl beamed, “thank you big brother!” She hugged He Tian, while he stroked her head gently. The little girl placed something in his palms and bid farewell. Not long after, he returned to Mo Guanshan.
“You’re adorable Mo-mo, you’re such an angel.” He Tian serenaded, tugging his boyfriend’s hoodie. He took the chance to pin something on Mo Guanshan’s hair, it was a small flower pin.
Mo Guanshan blushed, “what’s.. What’s this.” He touched the small flower clip on his fringe.
“The little girl gave it to you, she knew you were the one who gave the lanterns.” He Tian grinned, caressing Mo Guanshan’s cheeks.
Mo Guanshan sniffed, turning his head away from He Tian. His whole face was turning redder and redder as time passed on. “I.. I just didn’t need the lantern..” He made up an excuse so that he won’t get teased further.
He Tian laughed and pressed a quick kiss on the border of his lips. The sky was filled with all sorts of lanterns that were written with blessings on the front. It was truly a beautiful sight as it felt like the sky was lighted up with candles.
When they parted, He Tian placed his forehead against Mo Guanshan. “I wish we will be together till old.”
Mo Guanshan bit off a smile from blooming, “you stupid. I wouldn’t want an old ugly stinky man.” He Tian grinned, squishing his cheeks.
“I’ll still be your old ugly stinky man no matter what.”
