“You’re tall now”, Izana says, again, the second time that night. Kakucho swallows, pours their cheap shampoo on his hands. “Tall and broad. Seriously, you do anything but work out?”
“Cook for you”, he says, drags his fingers through Izana’s hair.
“Mmh”. From this angle he can see how Izana’s eyes flutter shut. “A good combination”.
He breathes in deeply, lets himself focus on the task, on the texture of Izana’s hair, how long it has gotten. Kakucho likes how it falls into his eyes, likes seeing his shoulder move when he ties it up. Loves the smell of it at night, the little gesture Izana does to throw it back, away from his face. But he loved it when it was buzzed, also, and then longer, and then longer than that.
