Summary
Lanterns hang like stars over the sky. A lone ship disembarks, and Zhongli wonders who would be coming into the city at such a late hour. Intrigued, Zhongli observes as a tall, lanky man sways while trying to find his footing on to solid ground.
Zhongli unconsciously moves to help the man but stops dead in his tracks when he sees said man look up. Ocean blue eyes pierce his very soul as they land on his face.
“Childe…” Zhongli stutters
“Zhongli, Xiansheng…” Childe’s whisper of his name is strained. Zhongli eyes take in all of Childe only to notice red bloom across his grey jacket – a vicious cut bleeds profusely. Childe sways again and Zhongli’s hands reach out reflexively to steady the other man.
