When he finally throws open the door with modest strength, he has to collapse in the doorway to catch his breath. He probably looks so pathetic, slumped against the wall in exhaustion, chest rising and falling rapidly with unsteady wheezes, forehead slick with sweat, but on the bright side, it’s quick to catch Eberwolf’s attention.
“Eber,” Darius breathes out through a choked cough, “I’m sick. You’re in charge. I’m gonna go get some rest now, please try to keep it quiet.”
