Chapter Text
Good news and bad news. We’ll start with the good news first, since the bad news is…well, we’ll get there. The good news is that the scans came back with a nice big chunk of dragon’s blood, situated due south of where I am now. If I can get it all back home, it’s big enough that it could actually completely supplant all power generation on board the ship, meaning we could entirely skip having to run a bunch of converters and burn through a lot of otherwise perfectly drinkable water.
So, the material is out there, and I know where it is. The bad news is that there’s a Weapon sitting right on top of it.
Another short history lesson, in case you’re unaware: the Garleans experimented with a lot of things during the later stages of the war. Black Rose was just one of those experiments, and happened to be one of their most effective. However, they also produced a few exceptionally large warmachina that, best I could tell, were fused with the very soul of some of the Empire’s most elite soldiers. Most of them went berserk, and the ones I didn’t personally have a hand in destroying after Black Rose now roam the wastes. Unfortunately for us, they usually congregate around energy sources - ceruleum and the like - which has this one just sitting there on top of my dragon’s blood.
If I let it stay there, it’ll probably eat the stuff, because for some reason Garlean engineers are a very disturbed bunch who like to put mouths on their machines and fuel them that way. Never really understood that particular design choice.
So I have to figure out a way to get it off, and I don’t think trying to fight it on my own is a particularly brilliant plan. I’ll think of something - I always do.
