Chapter Text
After a good half an hour or so..Sam leaned back in the turnout room, slowly beginning to dress back up.
Tyler wiped some sweat off his forehead and slowly rose into a sitting position, also beginning to get dressed. "That was..amazing."
"Yuup," Carver replied, nearly finished up with getting dressed.
That's when the two of them heard someone enter the room..sending them into a hurried panic to get dressed but Tyler fucked up as he always does, tripping and falling over Sam, without his shirt on for added context.
"Woah..sorry.." Gallo gasped, looking at the two on the floor and then backing up and out of the room
Tyler flushed, getting pushed off his partner and turning to look at him. "Sorry-"
Sam looked at him and just shook his head, tossing Tyler the shirt he was previously wearing. "You're hopeless."
"I know right?" Tyler put on the shirt and then paramedic vest over it, stretching. "Still doesn't change the fact that we just had the most mindblowing session ever."
"We are not doing this in here again, let's go now." Carver basically dragged the man out of the turnout room and left him off on the aparatus floor.
Tyler turned around and made his way to the Ambulance to help Brett out with inventory. "Sorry Sylvie, I got caught up doing something-"
Brett lifted her head and gave Tyler a look, yup Gallo already ran his mouth around. "Oh I know."
Tyler mentally cursed and just hopped in the back of the Ambo. "Who else did he tell?"
"Just me and Ritter." Brett replied, putting off some gauze back in its place.
"Oh thank the heavens" Tyler got started up on putting stuff back in its place too, seems like Brett handled most of the work by herself already.
~~~~~~
A strange call with a dude trapped underneath a rolled over truck later and we find Tyler and Sylvie stalking the halls of Chicago Med.
"That was wild and very unexpected," Tyler noted, noticing Brett was awfully quiet which probably meant she wanted something and he thought he could figure it out. "You want to check on the baby we saved at the start of shift don't you?"
"Yeah.." Sylvie replied, bearing half a smile on her face.
"It's fine, go. I'll handle the paperwork," Tyler replied, pulling out a pen from what seemed to be thin air (it was a pocket)
"Thanks, you're the best." Sylvie ran off.
Tyler shook his head and began to continue writing off the paperwork they needed to fill out regarding their latest patient, Shep.
~~~~~~
After getting back to the firehouse and bickering with the bitchy PIC they reported and comforting Brett. Tyler was with Carver near the entrance, the two of them acting as flirty as an engaged couple could. That's when they noticed Stella talking to that Shep guy from before..so they slowly walkes over.
Shep handed Stella a little thing that resembled a bracelet. "I made it over at Crossroads.."
"You did not have to do this but..I love it, Thank you Shep," Stella said, genuinely.
"Hey Shep, how're you doing?" Tyler asked, holding Carver's hand and wondering how his ex patient was doing.
"He's fiine, look at him. He looks good too." Stella replied.
"Do you wanna come in, have some food?" Carver asked
"No, no. I gotta, I gotta get going."
"Well, at least..let me round up a bag of stuff for you, for the road." Stella said, leaving.
Carver let go of Tyler's hand and crossed his arms. "We uh, filed a report about those teenagers, just so you know." Sam said, following up with some stuff and getting cut off.
"She doesn't love you. You know that, right?" Shep suddenly said, looking directly at Sam.
"Uh, what?" Sam asked, confused. Tyler was even more confused.
"What the hell did you just say?" Tyler asked, sounding a teeny weeny bit more aggressive. Yep, he's one possesive motherfucker.
That's when Stella returned with the stuff, Shep thanking her and going off on his merry way.
Stella walked off, leaving the tension in the room to grow.
"Are you as confused as I am?" Tyler asked
"Probably even more so.."
"You do love me and only me right?"
"Tyler, of course I do. Why are you letting what that dude said get to you?"
"I wonder how Kylie is doing regarding her firefighter's exam, that girl has some serious stride. I like her attitude." Tyler said, sitting down on a chair and spinning around on it.
"Well, Stella and the Chief are deadset on her acing the tests, so she'll be fine."
~~~~~~~
Even later, after the end of this shift and another shift..also a bunch of meditation education and baby shuffling with Brett. Carver and Tyler were out and about during the night, chuckling while walking together.
"I'm cold.." Tyler mumbled
"I told you to get your jacket but no, you just had to act up."
"You sound like my mother, Sam."
"Well then I guess she is a very good and caring person." Sam slowly took off his jacket and handed it to Tyler
Tyler slowly put it on and took a big ole whiff, oh yeah, he liked it. "Thanks, babe."
Carver smiled and looked down at his ringing phone. He talked on with Stella and then hung up. "We gotta go, get in the truck."
Tyler didn't question it and ran off to Sam's Silverado, waiting for the doors to be unlocked and then he hopped inside. This was a newer model than the one in the show because Tyler chipped in some money, even if Sam was against it.
They drove off to Stella's place, Carver explaining the situation of Shep being at her building to Tyler on the way there. Once they arrived, they slowly hopped out.
Tyler held his phone flashlight over in a way a cop would hold it with a gun, which confused Sam a wee bit. Yeah, Tyler was in the Police Academy before but that's a story for another time.
Then Shep slowly approached them. "I told you, I told you. She doesn't love you!"
"Shep calm down!" Carver called out.
"She doesn't love you!" Shep insisted, slowly walking in closer.
"He doesn't love her either, he loves me!" Tyler protested.
"That's, that's not true! You shouldn't be here!" Shep said, pointing a finger and walking towards Tyler now.
"Calm down!" Carver called out
"I warned you!" Shep said, beginning to dig around like for a weapon.
Tyler backed up, watching Sam punch him in the face. "Can we not resort to fighting here?!"
Insert Tyler trying to stop the two men that were fighting until Stella arrived and attempted to help.
That's when a police car rolled up, two officers coming in, ignoring Tyler and cuffing off Sam after making him put his hands up.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing, you fucking donkey? He's the one you should be cuffing!" Tyler exclaimed, pointing down at Shep.
"Sir, lower your voice." The other cop said.
"Don't arrest him!" Kidd came in, trying to reason with the cops but they weren't budging.
"Hey pal, what part of he's the problem do you not understand. I don't give two flying fucks about what you saw because what I saw was completely fucking different!" Tyler yelled, oh now he was getting mad..this could get ugly.
Kidd tried to calm Tyler down as one of the cops dragged Carver off to the back of their cruiser. "Tyler, calm down."
"No, they arressted my man and I'm supposed to stand around and do nothing while this victimizing fatass is getting coddled? Oh hell no." Tyler said, but he couldn't force himself out of Stella's grip, not wanting to harm her.
"We'll get this sorted out, let it run its course." Kidd said, watching the police car containing Carver exit the scene as an Ambulance rolled up for Shep.
Tyler made eye contact with the two paramedics that were treating Shep and then looked away.
After like half an hour everything was settled and the police completely left. Tyler turrned around and glared at Stella. "I'll meet you and the Chief at the police station."
"Yeah, see you there." Stella ran to her car
Tyler slowly walked over to Sam's Silverado and hopped into the driver's seat, thankfully the keys were still in the ignition. He gripped the steering wheel angrily and leaned his head against it, he was mad that his boyfriend was probably locked up somewhere for no reason and well mad at himself for not being able to do anything. A few tears dripped down his face and onto the steering wheel.
The attraction and love he felt for the dumb firefighter were very real..and he didn't want it to get all ruined for nothing. He gripped the jacket he was wearing and then slowly turned the keys over, starting up the engine and starting to drive carefully. Yeah, he was worried about wrecking this damn truck. But he drove off after Stella and off towards the police station.
