The day the world ended, nothing special happened. The birds sang the same song at sunrise they always had, the same fine layer of dew coated the flowers of Elysium’s forests, and Tobias Passeriformess went about his day as he always did.
The day the world ended, Tobias Passeriformess was out collecting wildflowers.

The day the world ended, Toby woke up. Dawn over Elysium always inspired mixed feelings in him. Sure, the sunrise over Joy’s little cottage was beautiful, but the massive flaming netherrack “kungpowpenis” sign wasn’t something he could look at without laughing.

I would like to say it ended in the blink of an eye, but that’s not true, is it?
Tobias Passeriformess had just returned to his home among the flowers when the world began to flicker. Everything came to a halt. No birds sung, no insects chittered, no leaves swayed in the wind. Everything stopped. For a moment. Tobias blinked, and a different snapshot unfolded around him. Dirt was hanging in the air, trees had chunks ripped out of their trunks, leaves were gone. Every blink, a new still. The world returned to the void. Toby went with it.
Despite what one may believe, when the void swallows you whole, there isn’t an absence of feeling. There’s an abundance. The last time Toby opened his eyes before the world ended, he saw nothing and everything at once in the form of a blinding white light. The last sound Toby heard before the world ended was the scream of the universe itself collapsing in on itself, a cacophony suited to a supernova. The last thing Tobias felt before the universe took him with it was the lack of connection to the void.
