Summary
when tartaglia came running down the stairs, an eager grin on his face after being away for a week without a word, announcing that they would be moving, diluc felt more relief than he did irritation.
“have breakfast first, would you?” diluc griped, “the eggs are getting cold.” he hoped that the underlying sentiment of 'i missed you,' would make its existence known through the way he had piled all the bacon from his own plate to tartaglia’s, knowing well the wizard never ate enough.
wordlessly, tartaglia had taken the empty seat beside chongyun who was scarfing down his sandwich. a bemused expression was on tartaglia’s face as he glanced between the sight of diluc who was coaxing the witch of the waste to take a spoonful of porridge and the empress’ cat, scaramouche, napping on chongyun’s lap.
“what on earth compelled you to let in these guests, morax?”
“don’t blame me,” morax growled, “it was your diluc who brought them in, and look at him now! spoon feeding the wicked witch of the waste!”
sometimes, love lies in the letting go.
