Izzy is in the kitchen of Edward’s ludicrously expensive house, making pancakes. Of course he’d somehow end up with two rich boyfriends. What kind of mathematician makes this kind of money, he thinks bitterly to himself.
Stede and he haven’t gone out on a dig since they escaped the park. There hasn’t been much call, now that the events of those horrible few days are all over the news. The scientific data gathered by the park and their research, before it all went wrong, has been released to the public as well.
Izzy is the first one up, as always, but soon enough he hears the creaking of the stairs and familiar voices. He smiles, despite himself.
Soon Stede is wrapping his arms around him, and Edward is pressing a kiss to the back of his hair.
“Get off! I’m cooking,” He grumbles.
Ed settles down at the kitchen table, stretching out his bad leg and Izzy frowns. “Where’s your brace?”
“Upstairs,” Ed grins.
“...twat.”
As they eat breakfast, Stede’s phone rings. He glances at it, and then smiles apologetically at the pair. “It’s Mary, I have to take this.”
“Go on then,” Izzy waves him off.
A few minutes later Izzy hears Stede exclaim “Of course we’d be delighted to have Louis and Alma over for New Years!”
Izzy rolls his eyes, it’s so like Stede to forget to even ask for his and Ed’s input. But he can’t deny the way it lifts his heart, to hear the joy in Stede’s voice, and to see the way Ed’s eyes dance at the idea. It’ll be good to see the little bastards again.
