It's been a while since I've updated, and I have good news.

I will be rewriting this story from the ground up to make things less hectic, but also in hopes of trying to make it seem a bit more easier to read. And, yes, this is 100% because of Veilguard. I'm honestly so hyped for the new game, and I really hope we'll be able to save Solas from himself.

In any event, I will be giving the updated fic a new name, and it will be split into 4 parts rather than one, as I've done the math and I was expected to have roughly 320 chapters for 5 story arcs. Each arc will now have a proper title, as opposed to just "Threnodies".

I will rename this fic, and will remove it from the Chant of Light series, but it will stay up for those who enjoy reading it.

Hopefully, I will be able to at least get one of the new chapters of the story, "Cross the Veil" by the end of this month.

Notes:

The title Threnodies is taken from one of the Chant of Light's verses, which is the Canticle of Threnodies. It is the first thing we see of the Chant of Light, as part of it is displayed on screen during the Origin's cutscene.

I've been thinking of how to make this fic long and hard since I completed Origins, adding on 2, and then wrapping up Inquisition. We have 12 years of time to work with, and a protagonist who will be there for most of it. Carmen has had a lot of names throughout the years, different end-game pairings, and a lot of other ways as to how she got to Thedas, but this is currently the one that, so far, has worked the best in the long run.
