Work Text:
Stephen was rather amused by it, but the Cloak was enamored by the holidays. It would flit from place to place enjoying the lights, dance along with Christmas music when it was played, and all around was just merry. Stephen would have bet money that the Cloak would have jumped ship for the night if Santa was real and asked it to join him in delivering gifts.
It was this love of all things festive that Stephen thought he would give the Cloak an early present on the first of December. It hadn’t been much except a trip to Joann Fabrics and researching a sticking spell but it would do the job.
He had just finished getting the tree standing in the foyer of the Sanctum when the Cloak flew in.
“Hey old friend, I have something for you!” The sorcerer called, catching the relic’s attention. It tilted its collar, almost like a puppy interested in a strange noise, before flying over. “I know you love this time of year so I got something to help.”
It was about six feet of fake fur fit to match the nicest of Santa’s suits. Lining the outside edge of the Cloak only took a few minutes with magic, the process only taking that long because the Cloak was too excited to stay still.
Yes, Stephen would receive some teasing about how festive he looked whenever he went out but he couldn’t help but have a smile on his face at the happiness of one of his closest friends.
