There’s a huff, her breath blowing the few strands of loose hair that had escaped Beatrice’s loose bun. “Fine, I’ll get ready for bed now then.”
Beatrice thought they would both get up at that point, but the gentle feeling of Ava’s fingertips against her cheek made her breath hitch. She felt her tuck her hair behind her ear, the pads of her fingers skimming her jaw, suddenly making her feel very lightheaded.
Ava pressed a light kiss to her cheek, before darting back, “Won’t be long!”
