Work Text:
"Do you like musicals, Teddy?"
Ted looks up from his work, "Kinda.." He thinks. "I don't not like 'em. Some are pretty good, I mean," He curses himself for being so awkward about it.
Jenny tilts her head. "I think so too," She smiles slightly. "They're pretty fun, right?"
"Yeah, for sure," Teddy messes with his pencil. "Uh.. why d'you ask?"
"I'm going to see my cousin in one tomorrow," Jenny pushes hair from her face; she shrugs kindly. "Apparently, she thinks it's not that important, as far as high school performances go, but I think she'll do pretty well, actually."
"Oh. Well, it's, uh.. really cool of you to go see it! Y'know, to.. support her," Teddy rambles.
"Thank you, Teddy," She enthuses. "Yeah, we're not close, exactly, but we're not totally separate. Support can do a lot,"
After a brief pause, she continues, "Do you wanna go with me to see it? They're doing Brigadoon,"
Teddy flushes, smiling. "Uh.. I would definitely go with you, Jen," He mutters. "But I have to babysit my brother, um.. and I don't know if my parents would appreciate if I took their one-year-old there, I guess,"
"Oh. That's okay," Jenny doesn't seem all too fazed; maybe a little disappointed. Nonetheless, she reassures him, "Don't worry about it! I can tell you how it was later, if you want?" She offers.
"Sure! Yeah, thanks, that'd be.. Yeah." He readjusts his headband, chuckling nervously. "Cool. I.. hope you enjoy seeing it, though."
Jenny grins. "Thanks, Teddy. Say hi to Pete for me,"
