Chapter Text

Over a year later…

Jungkook looks over at the clock hanging by the patio doors, frowning.  He looks down at the eggs he’s cooking and turns off the stove.  He plates the eggs, adds the toast and a couple of sliced strawberries on the side.  He places the plate on the kitchen table and glances at the stairs to the second floor, checking the time on the clock again.  He starts to make his way through the house, quick glance falling on the fireplace in the living room.  The mantle filled with pictures of family and friends. On the wall next to it hangs JB’s painting for Taehyung. The framed picture of JB and Taehyung sits on the mantle, as does the picture he gave Taehyung years ago of Jungkook and Taehyung on the Swan Boats the summer he visited with Taehyung.  Jungkook stops when he sees the picture of Taehyung and himself in their field the first time he used a camera.  He makes a mental note to recreate that picture the next time they’re visiting Daegu and add it to the mantle.

It’s been over a year now that Jungkook and Taehyung were married and a lot has happened since then.  Jungkook stands looking around their house.  A house. An actual house and not a cramped apartment.  Jungkook kept his promise to Taehyung. His first order of business after they were married was figuring out how to get Taehyung’s dream home so they could start their new life together right.  If there’s something Jungkook loves doing is surprising Taehyung with things.  Taehyung loves surprises and the look of pure happiness and love he gives Jungkook when he receives said surprises is worth everything to Jungkook.  But buying a house was not a simple surprise.  He had an idea of what Taehyung would want, but he needed details and he didn’t want to ask Taehyung without it seeming suspicious.

“Baby, want to play The Sims with me?”

Taehyung’s eyes perked up to glance at the Alpha, eagerly. “Really? Together?” Taehyung frowns. “How? It’s not exactly a two-player game Kook.”

“Well, we’ll take turns.  How about I make the characters and you take the time to build the house?  You know, put in all the stuff you want, would want in it.”

Taehyung jumps up, “And you aren’t going to tell me to change anything on it? Wait, I’m not doing it if you decide to trap them in the pool again just to see the Grim Reaper come out like last time.  That was cruel,” Taehyung pouts.

Jungkook chuckles, “I know, I’m sorry.  I swear I won’t do that again.  I just wanted to see what he looked like,” Jungkook shrugs. “So wanna play?”

Taehyung nods, excitedly.

And Taehyung had played.  He took any little free time he had to build the “fictional” house of his dreams.  And when he did Jungkook had a blueprint of what they would need in a house. But it proved difficult to find a home that would include all the things Taehyung would want.  Since marrying, Jungkook’s career continued to take off.  His freelance work continued to garner more attention and he was being paid a lot for his photos.  More publications took notice, and he was in demand more than ever.

Taehyung, exactly as Jungkook had predicted had received his first top pick for his residency assignment.  He is now working in the Emergency Room at Boston Children’s Hospital alongside Dr. Shaw.  Only this time, not as a student intern, but as a fellow doctor.  He’s happy and although he’s busy, he’s been able to adjust his schedule to one that allows him to balance his self-care, work, and be present in his relationship.  They are doing well.  Very well in fact, both professionally and personally and that includes money wise.  But even then, finding a home in their budget that matched Taehyung’s “dream” home was tougher than expected...do homes with a fireplace in every room even exist?

Jungkook worked with the realtor for weeks, painstakingly looking at houses, hating every single one.  He realized he was being ridiculous and unrealistic when his Eomma very smartly pointed out...

“Jungkook, he made a house for a damn video game and added a pool on the roof. Come on Kook, be sensible.  Take the things that seem most realistic and work with that.  Or else you’ll never find anything you like.”

She was right.  So that’s what he did.  He looked at Taehyung’s “dream” home and took the parts that seemed more Taehyung and less “I’m playing The Sims and need this to be ridiculous.” And that’s when he found it.  THE home.  When he saw it, he knew this was their home.  He could envision them in every room, having dinner parties, holidays, but it wasn’t until he saw the backyard and had a vision of Taehyung playing with their kids that he said a loud “YES!” to the realtor.  He signed his half of the papers and picked up his beautiful husband from work to surprise him.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

“Hi Baby, how was work?” He leaned over, pulling Taehyung by his nape, kissing him deeply.  It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together he still feels the same butterflies whenever he lays his eyes on his Omega.

“It was good, tiring.  I’m starving though.  Can we just order something tonight? And watch a movie?” Taehyung intertwines his hand with Jungkook’s settling into the passenger seat.

“Sure, Baby, but first we have a stop to do.”

Taehyung groans, “Do we need to do it today? My whole body aches.”

“Come on please? I promise if you agree to come with me, I’ll give you nice full body massage later,” Jungkook says perking his eyebrow.

“Yeah, I know where your full body massages lead Jungkookie,” Taehyung says, giggling.

“Exactly. See. Win, Win. Come on Baby, believe me you’ll love what I’m going to show you.”

Taehyung looks over at his gorgeous Alpha.  Like he can ever say no to him. “Ok Jungkookie, let’s go.”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook pulls into the driveway of a home in Newton, MA. Taehyung frowns looking around.  They don’t know anyone who lives in Newton, never mind here.  “Um, Kook, what are we doing here? Who lives here?” Taehyung exits the car, standing confused.

“You’ll see.  Come on.”

Jungkook walks up to the door and takes out keys, unlocking it and entering.  Taehyung stands at the door, peeking in.  It’s empty.  He looks at Jungkook utterly confused. “Is this for a photo project or something,” Taehyung asks, biting his lip.

Jungkook smiles.  Why is his boy always so endearing? Jungkook walks over and takes Taehyung’s hand.  “Come on.” He pulls Taehyung in, who reluctantly enters with Jungkook.  Jungkook pulls him over to the kitchen counter where a pile of papers sit. “Bear, I need you to look these over and sign them for me.”

Taehyung glances over at the papers, frowning. “What are they?”

“What do you think of the house?” Jungkook asks, eager to hear Taehyung’s response, hoping it’s a good one.

“Um, it’s beautiful.” Taehyung turns his head noticing the patio doors.  He can see a pool from here and the yard looks massive.  He turns to see a fireplace in the living room.  He smiles.  He always wanted a fireplace in the living room.

“You like the fireplace?” Jungkook asks, smiling.

Taehyung nods. “I do.  It’s super pretty.”

“There’s one in the master bedroom too.”

“Really? Wow.  This house is beautiful.  Are you shooting something here?”

Jungkook grins from ear to ear.  “I am...the rest of our lives together.”

Taehyung probably got whiplash at how fast he turned to look at Jungkook. “What?” he whispered.

“It’s ours.  We bought it. Well, I mean after you sign the papers.”

Taehyung looks at Jungkook in disbelief.  “This.  This house is ours.  Like actually ours? But how?”

“I’ve been looking for ages.  I met with a realtor.  When I saw it I thought it was perfect for us.  For our kids someday. There’s even enough room for all your stuff.  Your comics. All your memories with your parents.  All their things. We can finally take them out of that dusty storage unit. What do you think Bear?”

“Wait a minute.  The fucking Sims...oh my God! Is that what that was?!” Taehyung shakes his head.

Jungkook nods.  “I wanted to surprise you so...SURPRISE!”

Taehyung puts his face in his hands, crying. Jungkook panics making his way quickly to his husband.  “Baby, if you don’t like it we don’t have to buy it after all.  I—I just want you to love it.  I didn’t want to make you sad--”

Taehyung laughs through his tears, “I’m not crying because I’m sad, Jungkookie, I’m crying because I’m so happy! I Love it and I love you more!” Taehyung leapt into Jungkook’s arms and if they spent that night christening the house on every surface, no one needs to know.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook makes his way upstairs and opens the door to their bedroom.  He’s hit with the overwhelming scent of his husband and mate, but...something is off.  He walks over spotting Taehyung still fast asleep which is unlike him.  Taehyung is a morning person.  He’s one of those people who gets up even before the alarm, ready to go and start his day.  He looks down at his beautiful Omega.  His eyes land on the mating bite right by his scent gland, he smiles and blushes as he remembers their wedding night and how they fully became one and became mates that night.

They recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary.  Jungkook and Taehyung had planned an anniversary vacation celebration to Paris.  They had so much planned to see, what they didn’t plan was for Taehyung’s heat to hit unexpectedly and for it to also trigger Jungkook’s rut earlier than expected.  They had spent most of the vacation in their hotel room, not that they were complaining considering what they were DOING in the hotel room, but it still messed up their plans for sight-seeing in Paris.  Taehyung’s heats are sometimes still particularly bad. His doctor telling him it was a result of being on suppressants for so long.  This last one being one of those bad ones.  It really did knock it out of him and he seemed to take a little longer to recover from it.  Jungkook wonders if this is what is happening.  Still residuals from his heat.

He leans down kissing Taehyung’s forehead and frowns.  He feels warm.  He places his hand on his forehead, frowning again. Yes, he is definitely warmer than usual. Jungkook nudges him gently, trying to wake him up, but Taehyung groans and turns to his side away from Jungkook, snuggling deeper in the blankets.  Jungkook gets in behind him, hugging him tightly.

“Baby, you have to wake up.  You slept through your alarm and you have work soon.  I made you breakfast.  It’s downstairs getting colder by the minute.” Jungkook kisses his shoulder gently.

Taehyung groans again.  He turns his body to snuggle into Jungkook’s chest.  “I’m so tired, Kook.”

“Baby, are you feeling ok? You feel warm and...well, your scent, it’s weird.”

Taehyung looks up, trying to focus his eyes, long eyelashes fluttering on his cheeks.  “Hmm? Weird? Weird how? I feel fine. Just tired.”

Jungkook pushes Taehyung’s blond locks from his forehead.  “I don’t know.  It’s just different.  I think you’re sick.  Maybe you should go see a doctor?”

Taehyung frowns and huffs, moving Jungkook away, sitting up in bed. “I AM a doctor.”

Jungkook rolls his eyes. “I mean someone else who is a little more impartial.  Isn’t that what they say? Doctor’s make the worst patients.”

“Seriously?” Taehyung groans, as he makes his way out of the bed.  He has a headache and his stomach feels crampy.

‘Shit, maybe I am sick.’

Jungkook looks on, concerned. “Maybe you should call in today?”

Taehyung laughs, “Jungkookie, there’s no such thing. Come on, it’s probably just a cold or something plus it may be after effects of my heat still.”

“A cold? In the summer?” Jungkook asks, tilting his head.

“Yes, Jungkook. Colds and sicknesses happen in the summer too. Virus’ happen year round regardless of the weather outside,” Taehyung laughs, he walks over giving Jungkook a reassuring kiss. “I’m fine, really.  No need to worry. I’m going to go take a quick shower and I promise I’ll reheat my breakfast and eat it before I go.” Jungkook nods, as Taehyung enters their joint bathroom to get ready.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

But as the day goes on Taehyung starts to realize he’s not as fine as he had convinced Jungkook he was.  He’s feeling lightheaded, regardless of having eaten both breakfast and lunch and his headache is brutal.  He feels his phone vibrating in his scrubs.

‘Fuck!’ It had absolutely slipped Taehyung’s mind that they had plans tonight with Jin and Namjoon.  Jin and Namjoon who loved Boston so much when they came for Taehyung and Jungkook’s wedding that they ended up eventually moving here as well.  Taehyung used his connections and Alumni status to secure a teaching position for Namjoon.  Jin continues to work as a freelance graphic designer from home allowing him to still keep clients from Korea.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook pulls up in front of Jin and Namjoon’s house.  Taehyung quickly exits the car inhaling fresh air.  He feels so nauseous, which is strange because he never gets motion sickness. Especially from the car. Jungkook rounds the car running over to Taehyung. “You’re sick right?”

Taehyung rolls his eyes. “Oh my God you annoying Alpha, I said I’m fine!” Taehyung walks off in a huff.  Jungkook sighs.  He is positive something is up with Taehyung.  He’s been so irritable and curt with him for days now.  He would think it was his heat if he didn’t already go through it.  He runs a frustrated hand across his face as he follows Taehyung to the front door.

“Hi!” Namjoon happily says, answering the door.

Taehyung and Jungkook smile their best, “No we aren’t arguing,” smiles they can muster.  Namjoon raises his eyebrows, clearly sensing tension. “Um, come on in...”

“God, what the hell is that smell? It smells like the cadavers I used to work on in medical school,” Taehyung says, loudly, scrunching his nose.

“Bitch...that would be your dinner that I’ve been slaving over all evening,” Jin says, walking out of the kitchen.  “What crawled up your ass today?”

“Don’t ask,” Jungkook mumbles.

Taehyung’s eyes snap to Jungkook, glaring. “I will not hesitate to throat punch you Jungkook.”

Namjoon gives Jin a look, “Ok so who wants a drink?!”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung sits at the dinner table staring at his food.  He scrunches his nose again, nausea overtaking him. He leans in discreetly and whispers to Jungkook, “Does this smell off to you?” motioning to the food, cringing.

Jungkook frowns, shaking his head. “No. It’s fine. Actually, it's great,” he whispers back. Taehyung looks back at his food and stares again. His stomach is doing somersaults.

“Tae, are you not eating?” Jin asks, concerned giving Jungkook “The Look.”

“The Look” being the one their friends give Jungkook whenever they think something Taehyung does is related to his mental disorders.  He knows they mean well, but sometimes it can be overwhelming or like right now extremely annoying.

“I’m not eating because I’m not hungry, not because my eating disorder is telling me not to. I’m not having an episode, Jin,” Taehyung answers angrily.  Namjoon, Jin and Jungkook all freeze. Speechless. Jungkook leans overs and takes Taehyung’s hand.

“Baby, I’m sure that’s not what Jin meant,” Jungkook says looking over at Jin, who is red as an apple.

“No Tae, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it that way.”

Taehyung sighs.  What is wrong with him?  Aside from feeling like absolute shit today, he’s also been snapping at everyone.

“I’m sorry Jin. I—didn't mean to snap at you like that.  I—I'm just not very hungry--”

“He’s not feeling well,” Jungkook chimes in, avoiding Taehyung’s gaze.

Taehyung pulls his hand away from Jungkook. “It’s just a cold.” He glances at Jungkook as he says it, watching his mate eye roll.  He wants to tear his eyeballs out.

“I can make you something else. Maybe some soup would be better,” Jin says, concerned.

“No, Jin, don’t be silly. It’s just a simple cold.  Did you know colds happen in the summer too. That they don’t give a shit about what the weather is outside? Some idiots don’t know that,” he says, pointedly looking at Jungkook who turns to glare at Taehyung.

“You know what, I think we’re going to cut this dinner short.  I should get my stubborn Omega home.  So he can pretend to not be sick there,” Jungkook says getting up from the table. Taehyung huffs. He really is going to be a widower by the end of the night because he is going to end up killing Jeon Jungkook.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Both Jungkook and Taehyung end up sitting in the car, avoiding each other's gazes, angrily facing away from one another.  Taehyung sees them approaching a Market Basket and perks up. “Jungkook pull into the Market Basket! I want some strawberries!” He pulls at Jungkook’s arm motioning at him to pull over.

Jungkook frowns in disbelief.  Is this the same Omega who was angrily avoiding him a couple of minutes ago?

“Taehyung, you can’t be serious? I thought you weren’t hungry?”

“I am. I am, but I’m hungry for strawberries. Look it’s still open! Pull in please!”

Jungkook sighs.  Taehyung’s fluctuations of emotions are giving him whiplash. “Ok, ok.  I’ll pull over and get some for you.” Taehyung claps happily in his seat, bouncing up and down. Jungkook can’t help but smile.

“Thank you Jungkookie! Love you,” Taehyung replies, happily leaning over to kiss Jungkook. Jungkook shakes his head.  Whiplash.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook glances over at Taehyung who has a huge smile on his face while he eats his strawberries.  They are lying in bed, watching a movie, Taehyung being in a much happier mood than before.  “Hmmm, these are so yummy, Jungkookie. Thank you for stopping and getting them for me,” Taehyung says, cuddling into Jungkook’s side.

“No, but seriously Tae, what is going on with you?”

Taehyung looks up, round puppy dog eyes staring back, “What do you mean,” mouth full of strawberry.

Jungkook sighs.  “Nothing, Baby.  Nothing.  Eat your strawberries,” he says leaning down to kiss his lips.

Jungkook licks his lips, tasting the strawberries Taehyung’s been eating.  Taehyung smirks.  “You know if you want to taste strawberries, I know another way you can.” Taehyung sets the bowl on his nightstand turning to face Jungkook.  Jungkook recognizes that look in his eyes.  He shakes his head laughing. “Yeah?” Taehyung pulls Jungkook in closer leaning into him, licking at his scent gland, making Jungkook shudder.

“Come on Alpha, come and taste me,” Taehyung says, pulling Jungkook on top of him.

Whiplash.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung wakes up the next morning, feeling nauseous again, Luckily, he’s not working today, nor is he on call.  He looks over to find Jungkook isn’t next to him.  He frowns.

“Jungkookie?!”

Jungkook peeks his head out of the bathroom, smiling. “Morning, Baby. How are you feeling?”

“Are you going out?” Taehyung can see he’s showered and dressed.  He had hoped he was going to spend the day with him.  His eyes start to water. Jungkook frowns, concerned. “Baby? What’s wrong?”

“I thought we were going to spend the day together. Now you’re leaving?”

Jungkook smiles, “I’ll just be gone for a few.  I have that meeting remember.  To go over the photos the magazine wanted.” Taehyung pouts, lip quivering. “Baby, please don’t pout at me like that, you know what that does to me.  I’ll be gone for just a bit, then I’ll be back and spend the whole rest of the day with you, I promise.  Please don’t cry.”

Cry? Wait. What? Taehyung suddenly realizes he is. He's crying.  Since when does he cry over something as small as Jungkook leaving for work stuff.  He wipes at his eyes and nods. Jungkook sighs.  “Look, I’m sorry about last night. At Jin’s.  But I really want you to go and see a doctor. And before you say “I am a doctor” you need to go see someone like I said before. A doctor that is more impartial to a diagnosis.  Someone that is not you. I think something’s up Baby.  And I think it’s more than a “summer” cold.”

As much as Taehyung hates to admit it, Jungkook might be right.  He might be missing signs, symptoms because he’s always so busy treating others he can’t imagine he can actually get sick too. “Yeah, maybe you’re right.”

Jungkook smiles. “Good and make sure to tell them about your scent too.” Jungkook says, getting up to leave.

“My scent? It still smells weird?”

“Weirder. Like...milky.  You don’t just smell like strawberries anymore.  You smell like strawberries and cream.” Jungkook bends down, kissing Taehyung sweetly on the lips. “I’ll see you in a bit Baby.  Eat breakfast,” he says sternly, then smiles again as he leaves the room.

“Strawberries and Cream? Milky? What the fu--” Taehyung freezes.  Wait a second.  Those are symptoms he’s heard before.  More specifically, symptoms he remembers hearing from patients when he did a clinical rotation on the OB/GYN floor.

“HOLY SHIT!”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung is sitting on the floor of the downstairs bathroom staring at 2 pregnancy tests.  After Jungkook left, he showered, and ran out to the pharmacy to buy one.  He took both of the ones that came in the box.  He stares in disbelief.  He’s pregnant. The heat and rut in Paris.  “Holy shit! We’re fucking pregnant!” he yells, smiling.  He reaches down and places his hand on his stomach.  He has to tell Jungkook! He freezes.  He doesn’t want to just tell Jungkook. He wants to be able to surprise him, just like Jungkook always surprises him with so many wonderful things.  He reaches over picking up his phone.  “Done in an hour,” the ad says.  He looks at the time on his phone.  Jungkook won’t be back until later in the afternoon.  He has time to do this and get a surprise ready.  He quickly gets up taking the pregnancy tests and the boxes with him making sure to not leave any evidence, rushing out of the house.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung finishes tying the ribbon on the box.  His stomach rumbles. He frowns realizing he never had breakfast this morning.  He quickly gets up and heads to the kitchen.  He stands to think about what he wants to eat.  Nothing seems appealing to him.  He opens the fridge door and sees the other carton of strawberries they bought from last night.  He touches his stomach again. “Yeah, all I want is strawberries too, but I think we need to eat something more than that.” Taehyung smiles when he thinks of pancakes. “Strawberry pancakes! Let’s see if you like those!”

Taehyung takes the time to make his breakfast and sits down at the table ready to eat.  He takes a bite of a strawberry and hums in delight.  He next takes a bite of the pancake, frowning.  He’s hit with a wave of nausea.  He runs to the bathroom, shutting the door behind him, doubling over the toilet, vomiting.  “Shit, ok noted. You hate pancakes too,” he grimaces as he’s hit with more nausea as he buries his head in the toilet, groaning.

“Baby! I’m home! Jungkook enters his front door and is hit with the sweet smell of pancakes in the air.  But the thing that worries him is that he can also smell rotten strawberries...with that weird hint of cream under it.  Spoiled cream. He frowns.  He enters the kitchen and sees the mess, eyes focusing in on the table with the half-eaten plate of pancakes sitting alone with no Omega in sight. He can hear noises coming from the bathroom.  He walks slowly up to the door and leans quietly into it, ear up to it.  He can hear Taehyung.  He can hear Taehyung vomiting.  His eyes go wide, his heart starts to race, mouth going dry.  Did he miss the signs again? Is this...is this a lapse again? He thinks back to how Taehyung has been sick.  Jungkook thought it was something physical, but what if it’s not.  What if this is those voices back again to wreak havoc on his gorgeous boy. He walks away from the bathroom door in a daze.  He sits on the couch looking up at JB’s painting. He puts his head in his hands as he hears the bathroom door open.

Taehyung walks out feeling horribly lightheaded.  He can smell rotten seaweed.  “Jungkook?” He walks over to the living room where he finds Jungkook staring at JB’s painting in a daze. “Jungkookie? What’s wrong? Your scent—“

“Tell me the truth, Baby. You know I’m here for you.  I’ll support you in this.  We can get through this together like we did the last time.  You can add more sessions with Dr. Reed again, maybe add in the support group again.  I—I just need you to be honest with me so we can start to make this better again.  Help you get healthy again,” Jungkook holds back tears as he looks at Taehyung.  Taehyung who is speechless with his jaw on the floor.  What is Jungkook even talking about?

“Jungkook? I don’t understand. What do you mean? Why would I need to go back to the support group.  I’m fine.  I’ve been fine.  I go to my sessions every week.  My anxiety is regulated.  I’m stable.”

“You’re not stable!” Jungkook stands up to pace the room.  Taehyung startles.  He’s confused.  This is not the way he thought the day would go. “Kook,” he says softly, “I am.  I am stable.  I would tell you if I wasn’t.”

“Clearly, you wouldn’t!” Jungkook yells, pointing at the kitchen. Taehyung follows his gaze.  “Am I missing something here?” he asks Jungkook.

“I heard you! I heard you Baby. In the bathroom.  I heard you purging.” Taehyung freezes. Jungkook heard him throwing up in the bathroom.  He looks over to the kitchen, the half eaten food.  He looks back at his husband who looks panicked, scared. He feels his stomach dip.  He thinks he’s relapsed. He takes quick strides over to Jungkook hugging him.  Jungkook hugs him back. “Baby, we’ll put you back on track.  I promise we will.” Taehyung laughs. Jungkook pulls back, frowning angrily.  “This is not funny Taehyung.  This is not something you should be laughing about.”

Taehyung shakes his head. “Oh God.  I swear you are perfect you know that.  I thank the heavens everyday that they put you in my life.  My beautiful supportive husband.”

Jungkook furrows his brows.  Taehyung pulls away. “Can you sit here for a minute? I need to go get something.” He gently pushes Jungkook to sit on their couch.

“No. No way. We aren’t just going to ignore this.  We need to ta—“

“Just trust me, Jungkookie. Give me a sec to explain.  It’ll all make sense in a minute, but for right now you just need to sit down and trust me. Ok?”

Jungkook nods, hesitantly as he watches Taehyung disappear upstairs.  Minutes later he sees Taehyung descend down carrying a box.  He watches as his mate walks towards him, smiling.

“Here.  I wanted to do this differently.  Cook you a nice dinner.  Maybe give it to you after a night of making love.  It sounds cheesy, but I wanted it to be special.  But I guess under the circumstances. This is how it’ll go. Go ahead open it.”

Jungkook looks down at the box, confused.  He opens the box to find a baby onesie.  He frowns.  He pulls it out, lifting it up.  Out drops a stick.  He can’t seem to process anything right now.  He looks up at Taehyung who is laughing. “Jungkookie look at the onesie.”

“The what?” Jungkook looks down, confused again.

“The BABY onesie Kook.” Taehyung says smiling, shaking his head.

Jungkook lifts it up again reading the front of it.  “Assistant Photographer” it says.  Jungkook  gasps.  He picks up the stick and stares at it.  Two thick blue lines.  He looks at Taehyung and back down at the contents on his lap.

“Are you…HOLY FUCK! ARE YOU PREGNANT?!”

Taehyung nods happily.  Jungkook scoops him up on his lap, burying his face in his chest, weeping.  Taehyung smiles, wrapping his arms around his mate, placing kisses on his head. “You’re ok? You didn’t relapse?” Taehyung chuckles.

“No, Jungkookie.  I didn’t.  You’re right it wasn’t a cold.  The nausea, headaches, fatigue, even the fever.  I didn’t see the signs until you said about my scent this morning.”

Jungkook pulls back, sniffling.  “What do you mean?” Taehyung wipes his tears gently.

“Strawberries and cream you said.  Milky.  It’s how Omega’s scents change when they get pregnant.  The milky smell.  I remembered it from when I did a clinical rotation on the OB floor.  I went out this morning and bought a test. It must’ve been Paris.”

“So you didn’t purge?”

“No! Of course not! Our little bean here does not seem to like anything but strawberries.  I tried.  And they were not having it.  Had my head in a toilet bowl all day.”

Jungkook hugs him tightly. “I thought—“ he hugs even tighter.

“I know.  But,” Taehyung cups Jungkook’s face, kissing him, “I’m fine.  And we, are going to have a baby.”

Jungkook smiles, through his tears, kissing his husband.

“We’re having a baby.”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook is lying on Taehyung’s stomach, ear on his belly button.  Taehyung runs his fingers through his hair.  Jungkook hums lazily.  Closing his eyes. “You can’t hear them Jungkookie.” Taehyung giggles.

Jungkook looks up slightly at Taehyung then diverts his attention back to his stomach.  He lifts Taehyung’s shirt and kisses his bare stomach. “Kook?”

“Hmm?”

“What you said made me think about something.  I know stress is a trigger for me and I want to be the healthiest I can be during my pregnancy. I know when someone who suffers from an eating disorder enters pregnancy it can be triggering too so…”

Jungkook sits up quickly turning to face Taehyung.  He hadn’t thought about how pregnancy could trigger symptoms again.  Or what that would mean for someone recovering from an eating disorder. “So?”

Taehyung sighs.  “I have my session with Dr. Reed next week.  Can you—come with me?”

Jungkook exhales. “You would want that? Me being in your session like that?”

“Of course I would! I trust you more than anything.  And we’re in this together.  Just to get information.  A precaution of sorts.”

Jungkook takes Taehyung’s hand and kisses it. “Yes Bear. Absolutely I’ll go with you.”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook takes Taehyung’s hand and squeezes as they sit in front of Dr. Reed.  It’s the first time they’re doing this.  Being in a session together.  He doesn’t know why but Jungkook is nervous.

“I think I should start out by saying congratulations you two!  It’s really fantastic!”

“Thank you,” Taehyung replies. “We’re really super happy about it.  So are our families.  I think I could hear my Auntie In-na and his mom screaming all the way from here in Boston.”

“Yeah, they are already planning to stay for a couple of months after the baby is born to be here to help,” Jungkook says, excitedly.

“That’s fantastic!” Dr. Reed exclaims.

Taehyung nods. He rubs his hands together nervously.  Dr. Reed follows the action and looks up at him.

“How are you feeling Taehyung?”

Taehyung takes a quick glance at Jungkook. “Great. I mean physically I could be better.  The nausea and morning sickness are horrible, but the doctor said it’s normal.  Even the fact that all I want to eat is strawberries is ok.  My mom was the same.” Jungkook squeezes his hand again, looking at him lovingly.

“I think what we’re worried about is making sure how we can prevent a relapse.  Taehyung mentioned that the pregnancy can be triggering for those recovering from an eating disorder.” Taehyung looks down at his hands.

Dr. Reed nods.  “I think it’s good that you are both actively making sure you are aware of what the triggers might be and want to be more informed.  And Tae, you more than ever, now, need to be aware that this pregnancy may trigger some of your negative thinking again. The incessant counting, comparing, and measuring that happens during those nine months and beyond can tap into some of the vulnerabilities that are linked to eating disorders, food and weight obsessions. Perfectionism and loss of control, often bubble right to the surface. But if you’re getting the support you need, you’ll have a better chance of weathering those storms without resorting to self-destructive habits.”

Taehyung nods as Jungkook squeezes his hand again.

“We’ve talked about this before Taehyung. Remember that there is nothing shameful about asking for help. It’s the most courageous thing you can do for yourself and your baby. Look at your recovery as an ongoing process that will help you reach your full potential as an individual and as a parent. Allow yourself to celebrate the fact that your body is working some serious magic right now. Before you get obsessed and panicked by stretch marks or focused on loose skin, take time to reflect on how you will teach your child, in your words and in your actions, that you appreciate your body. Just think about how you would want your future child to view how they feel about themselves.  That it’s more important to be healthy rather than placing the emphasis on weight and how one looks.  Remember Taehyung you have to continue to love yourself and value who you are. If you continue to do what you’ve been doing.  Loving each, supporting each other.  Keeping each healthy. Believe me you’ll be fine.”

Jungkook let’s out a sigh of relief.  He looks at Taehyung who looks happy.  Dr. Reed is right.  Love and support is the key.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung is officially 12 weeks pregnant with what Jungkook thinks is the cutest baby bump he’s ever seen.  He knows he may be bias, but he’s seen other pregnant omegas and he knows for a FACT Taehyung is the prettiest, most gorgeous one of them all.  He thought he was beautiful before but it’s almost as if the pregnancy has made him radiate like an angel.  Jungkook just finds himself staring sometimes unable to look away, like right now.  They’re sitting in the ultrasound room waiting for their tech to come and he just can’t stop looking at his beautiful mate.

“Kook…you’re staring again,” Taehyung says giggling.

“I can’t help it.  You’re just so pretty Bear.  Our baby is going to be the prettiest of them all because you’re their Dad.” Jungkook leans into Taehyung’s belly kissing it. “Do you know that little one? Your daddy is the prettiest which means you’ll be the prettiest.” Taehyung rolls his eyes at his silly Alpha’s antics.

“Afternoon, folks. How are we doing Tae?”

“Good—“

“Jimmy, isn’t our baby going to be the prettiest because Tae is the prettiest?”

“Oh my god, Jungkook! Shut up!” Taehyung blushes, face palming. “Sorry Jimmy, ignore him.  He’s been in a weird mood lately.”

Jimmy chuckles. “No worries.  That weird mood is called being a new dad.  And yes Jungkook, Tae here is the cutest.” Taehyung blushes again. Jungkook frowns.

“He is… but just remember he’s mine.” Jungkook says squinting his eyes at the tech.

“What the—Jungkook! Jimmy can we just get started please before I die of embarrassment.”

Jimmy laughs getting the ultrasound wand ready.  He puts the gel on and lifts Taehyung’s shirt.  “Sure thing Tae. Remember, a little cold ok?”

Taehyung nods.

Jimmy starts to move the gel over Taehyung’s swollen belly while looking up at the monitor.  “There they are! They thought they could hide from us,” he chuckles.

Jungkook’s eyes light up when he sees their baby on the monitor.  Jimmy continues to move the wand as he presses buttons on the screen.

“How are they? Everything healthy,” Taehyung asks. Taehyung has been doing well.  Better than well.  He’s been attending therapy regularly.  Eating well.  No anxiety and no negative thoughts.  He’s still working, but he knows his limits and knows to prioritize their baby and his self care.

“Perfectly healthy.  Here listen to the heartbeat.” Jimmy flips a switch and they hear the thuds of their baby’s heart.  Taehyung squeals.  Jungkook looks over fondly at his husband leaning in to kiss his cheek.

“Oh! You guys want to know the sex of the baby?” Taehyung’s eyes snap to Jungkook’s.

“Oh Jungkookie please can we find out now! I want to know now please,” Taehyung pouts.  Jungkook shakes his head laughing. That pout, he knows exactly how to use that pout to get what he wants.  He wonders if their baby will have it too.  He thinks how fucked he’ll be if they do.  How is he supposed to handle two of those pouts?

“Baby, you know I can’t say no to you.” He looks at Jimmy. “We want to know.” Taehyung claps excitedly.

“Ok well, see that right there,” Jimmy points at a spot on the screen, on the baby. Taehyung frowns. “Um, no.”

“Exactly! That’s because there’s nothing there.  It’s a girl!” Jimmy chuckles.

Taehyung’s eyes widen.  He looks at Jungkook. “It’s a girl! Jungkookie! We’re having a girl!” Jungkook gets up and kisses the side of Taehyung’s belly before moving on to kiss his beautiful husband.  “I love you so much Bear.  So fucking much!”

Taehyung smiles.  He can’t wait to meet their little girl.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook opens the front door, being immediately hit with the overwhelming smell of strawberries and cream.  He smiles.  He kicks off his shoes quickly. He was out having lunch with Hobi and his interior decorator boyfriend, John.  He’s missed his husband so much today.  Taehyung is now 6 months pregnant.  And the longer he progresses with his pregnancy, the more possessive and clingy Jungkook and his Alpha have become to their mate.  So much so he’s working purely online now so he can focus 100% on his beautiful pregnant husband.  Taehyung took a leave from work as he could feel his anxiety and the stress starting to claw at him and his mind again.  He wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Especially not when it doesn’t only affect him this time.  He had to prioritize his baby.

He had discussed it with Dr. Shaw who had not only supported him and agreed but dropped a bomb on him.

“Taehyung what would you say if I offered you to come work at a private pediatric primary care office once you are ready to come back to work after the baby? It would offer you the ability to work a 9-5. No weekends.  You would still need to be on call some nights, but the flexibility in time would be astonishingly better than working in the ER.”

“Dr. Shaw, I mean that sounds amazing! To be able to have what sounds like normal hours would be a dream.  It would allow me spend more time with Jungkook.  My baby.  But whose private practice?” Taehyung asked curiously.

Dr. Shaw smiled proudly.  “Mine. Mine Taehyung.  I’m opening one.  It’s time.  And my intention was always to bring you with me, but with you having to take a leave I figured I’d make the proposal now.”

“Are you serious? Are you really offering me position in your practice?” Taehyung can’t believe his ears.

Dr. Shaw laughs.  “Taehyung I knew you were going to be an exceptional physician since I worked with you as a freshman in Harvard.  I wasn’t wrong.  You have turned out to be extraordinary Taehyung.  And nothing would  make me happier, prouder than have you be a part of my new venture.  The position is yours when you are ready to return.  That is if you want it.” She chuckles.

“Yes!! Yes of course I do! Thank you so much Dr. Shaw!”

Jungkook couldn’t be happier and prouder of his “wicked smaht” husband.  And he’s even happier that it allows him to rest and focus more on himself and their baby.  Jungkook walks into their living room and what he sees makes his heart melt.  The fireplace is on, blaring, making the room warm and toasty.  He spots Taehyung lying on the couch with a fluffy blanket.  A bowl of strawberries balanced on his extremely swollen belly, watching Star Wars.

Jungkook leans back against the wall watching his cuter than cute Omega.

“Ok, tiny padawan see that?  That’s the best villain to have ever lived.  I mean other than the Joker, but that’s a discussion for another day.  Remember his name? Darth Vader. Listen, listen.  This is one of my favorite parts.  Him and Leia talking.”

Jungkook chuckles as he stands back watching, listening.

Taehyung starts to recite word for word of the scene playing before him. “Don’t play games with me, Your Highness. You weren’t on any mercy mission this time. You passed directly through a restricted system. Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by Rebel spies.”

Jungkook laughs, shaking his head.  He thinks Taehyung lost his calling in not becoming an actor with the way he can memorize those lines the way he does.  But then again this is a movie he’s watched an abnormal amount of times since he was kid.  Jungkook smiles.

“You're a part of the Rebel Alliance... and a traitor. Take her away!” Taehyung recites, clapping his hands.  “Oh man wait till you find out that’s her dad.  I can’t wait to see your face at that revelation,” Taehyung happily says to his belly as he picks up a strawberry putting it in his mouth.

Jungkook sighs.  He loves his boy so much and and it only keeps growing stronger.  “Hi Baby.” Taehyung jumps.  His eyes light up happily.

“Jungkookie you’re home! I missed you so much!” he pouts.  He makes grabby hands at Jungkook.  Jungkook walks over kneeling down, moving the bowl.  He kisses Taehyung’s belly. “Hi little one, Appa missed you today.” He looks up at Taehyung who is looking at him with so much love.  He leans up kissing him.  Strawberries. “Baby if you keep eating strawberries like this she’s going to turn into a strawberry,” Jungkook says laughing.  Taehyung’s smiles falls.

“What’s wrong Baby?”

“Nothing.  It’s just—that’s what my Dad used to say to my Mom when she was pregnant with me.” Jungkook runs his finger through Taehyung’s hair.

“I’m sorry Baby.”

“No it’s ok.  I’ve just—I don’t know I’ve been missing them a lot lately.  Thinking about them a lot.  How excited they would be for us.  And how she’s never… going to be able to know how amazing they were” Taehyung’s lip quivers.  Jungkook leans over hugging him.

“She’ll know Baby because we’re going to tell her.  And show her.  They’re presence will always be felt by her.  I promise.” He feels Taehyung nod.

“Baby want to go cuddle in bed?”

Taehyung pulls back.  “Cuddle or cuddle,” he asks, wiggling his eyebrows, smirking.  Jungkook blushes.  How is it after all these years this boy can still make him blush like a teenager?

Taehyung laughs.  “Come on Jungkookie, I’ll make you blush for real.  Real real hard.”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

“I can’t believe you have a whole little person in there, Cuz.” Taehyung snorts.

“I can.  They’re heavy as fuck too.”

Yoongi and Daya are in town this weekend to visit. They wanted to take Taehyung and Jungkook baby shopping and spoil the little one with a bunch of new things.

“Oh my god! Tae look at this!  It’s fucking adorable!” Daya holds up a dress immediately putting it into the shopping cart Yoongi is pushing.

“Ow,” Taehyung holds his belly, scrunching his nose.  Jungkook puts his hand on his belly.  He smiles, as he bends down to eye level with Taehyung’s belly.

“She’s kicking again….Little padawan, give your Daddy a break huh? He’s tired.”

“Padawan?” Yoongi groans, “Fuck Taehyung are you already turning my little niece into a fucking nerd?”

“Fuck you Yoongles. Wait until you have kids.  I’m going to turn them into the biggest Star Wars nerds you’ve ever seen!”

“Well, can we get through the wedding first before you have me barefoot and pregnant please,” Daya says nonchalantly holding up her hand showing off a very beautiful very NEW diamond ring on her ring finger.

Taehyung gasps, grabbing onto Jungkook’s shoulder, digging in.

“Ow Baby, your nails,” Jungkook looks over at Taehyung who looks like he’s… “oh no here we go,” Jungkook says shaking his head.

Taehyung screeches. Yoongi jumps while Daya squeals jumping up and down along with Taehyung.  Everyone in the store stops to look at them.  Yoongi and Jungkook look mortified.

“Bear, calm down Baby.  You’ll put yourself into early labor.”

“Shut up Jungkook!” Taehyung glares.  “My best friends are getting married!” Taehyung runs over to Yoongi and engulfs him in a hug. Or half a hug.  It’s pretty difficult to do anything this pregnant. “How do you even hug him like this? It’s like a whole planet.” Yoongi says to Jungkook.

“Oh I can do a lot more than just hug him.  Believe me, I manage,” Jungkook smirks.

“Fucking hell.  I’m glad marriage has kept you two as gross as ever,” Yoongi groans.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung is sitting at the dining room table piles of pictures in front of him.  The interior decorator, John, listens intently, nodding and taking notes.  Jungkook comes down the steps, camera hanging around his neck by the custom leather camera strap Taehyung gave him a couple of years ago for Christmas.  He looks over and sighs.  He glances at the clock.

“Baby.  Come on we’re going to miss the beautiful natural light.  Let’s get going.  Please.  Let John do his job.  He knows what he’s doing.”

Taehyung looks up at Jungkook and nods, “Ok, ok Jungkookie, I’m coming.  John I’m sorry.  I trust you I do.  I just want her nursery to look perfect.”

“It’s ok Tae.  I get it.  Hobi told me how important this theme is for you and what it means to you.  I promise it’s turning out perfect.  You’re really going to love it.”

Taehyung is now 8 months pregnant.  Taehyung had so many ideas on what he wanted their baby girl’s nursery to look like, but no idea on how to execute it.  When Taehyung and Jungkook came to the conclusion that it would easier and less stress on Taehyung to hire someone instead, it was really a no brainer as to who it would be.  Hobi and John have been dating for almost 6 months now. John, an interior decorator as sweet and cheerful as he was.  A fashion designer with an interior decorator.  It couldn’t have been a better match.  When Jungkook had mentioned over lunch what the theme was, John had been enamored.  He’d never done anything like it, but was up for the challenge.  He got his crew together and had been working on it for the last couple of days.  Painters, furniture, lighting.  Taehyung and Jungkook had to promise not to enter the baby’s room until finished.  It took everything in Taehyung to walk by the room everyday and not just open the door, but he’s been able to hold back and today was the last day.  He just wanted to make sure everything he had wanted is somehow represented.

“What are you guys doing today while we finish up?”

“Ask the photographer over here,” Taehyung says rolling his eyes.  He goes to get up, but can’t.  His bigger than big belly making it difficult for him to do anything anymore.  Jungkook comes running over, taking Taehyung by the arm, lifting him up.

“Thanks Jungkookie,” Taehyung says kissing his cheek.

“I’m taking both my babies out for a pregnancy photo shoot in Boston,” Jungkook says excitedly at John.

“Oh that sounds like fun!”

“Pfft, fun,” snorts Taehyung.  “Fun if I could move properly and my feet weren’t so swollen.” Taehyung looks down at his belly. “I love you my little padawan, but you are making me miserable.  I can’t wait till you vacate the premises.”

Jungkook puts his arm around Taehyung’s waist. “I’m sorry Baby.  I promise I’ll give you a nice foot rub and a full body massage again tonight,” he says, smacking Taehyung lightly on his butt.

John giggles, getting up from the table. “Ok well, have fun and I’ll call you when we’re done.”

“Thanks John, we’ll see you later.”

Jungkook turns to Taehyung.  He looks exhausted.  The pregnancy at this point is getting the worst it’s been.  Taehyung is tired all the time.  His feet hurt and are swollen all the time.  Actually he can’t even remember what his feet even look like anymore with how big his belly has become.  He gets winded just by going up the stairs.  He’s over it.  He just wants their baby girl to be here already.

The only thing keeping him together is the love and support he gets every second of the day from his mate.  Jungkook has been perfect.  He’s attentive, loving and has made Taehyung feel even more loved than he’s ever felt.  He’s going to be an amazing father.

“Baby, if you don’t want to do this we can—“

“No Jungkookie I want to.  This means a lot to you.  I’ll do it.  Just promise me we can cuddle and do nothing for the rest of the night.”

“How much nothing…” Jungkook smirks.  Taehyung laughs.  That’s the other thing that pregnancy brought.  A very horny Alpha with a huge pregnancy kink.  Lucky for Jungkook the pregnancy has made Taehyung equally as needy for his Alpha.  It worked out in both their favors.

“Of course Jungkookie, I don’t mean too much nothing.” Taehyung pulls Jungkook in for a kiss.  Jungkook groans pulling away.

“Fuck why do these people need to be in our house right now?”

Taehyung laughs, “Come on, we’ll miss the lighting remember?”

“Wait!” Jungkook walks over and heavily scents Taehyung.

“Kook,” Taehyung murmurs, “You don’t have to do that.  I’m beyond pregnant, mated, and with you.  Believe me, no one wants me.”

“Yeah, ok.  You clearly still don’t notice how people look at you.  Fuck that,” he says, smacking Taehyung’s ass. “Let’s go.”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Although it’s not quite yet spring, it’s one of this those unusually warm winter days that happens in New England sometimes.  The sun is out, and so is everyone else trying to soak it up after being cooped up in their houses all winter.  Jungkook walks hand in hand with Taehyung turning to see his husband slowly waddle.

‘So cute.’

“Baby, how about here?” They stop at the part of the gardens that usually houses the Swan Boats.  Currently out of commission for the season. “I can’t wait to bring her here when they’re back up and running again,” Jungkook says, staring out on the water.  Taehyung nods, hugging Jungkook’s arm.

“Do you remember the first time you were here on those boats? The little girl we talked to?  She was so excited to be on them.  Who would’ve thought all those years ago on those boats, we’d be here.” Taehyung puts a hand on his belly, smiling.

“I knew.”

Jungkook looks from Taehyung to the little girl and smiles.  ‘Taehyung is going to make such a good dad someday.  We should bring our kids here too,’ Jungkook thought.  Jungkook shakes his head.  He is 16 years old and clearly been out in this heat and sun for too long today.

“Even at 16, I knew.  I used to think about you and what you would be like as a Dad.  What we would be like parents, together.  That day on those boats, I had the same thought.  ‘We’re bringing our kids here.’ I told you Bear.  It’s always been you.”

Taehyung snuggled into Jungkook’s chest.  “For a thousand years,” he whispers.

“For a thousand more,” Jungkook says, cupping his face, kissing his lips.

“Come on.  Let’s take some pictures."

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung and Jungkook stand in front of their daughter’s room, eyes closed.  “Ok guys.  I really hope you like it.” He opens the door. “Ta-da!”

Taehyung opens his eyes and gasps.  He turns to Jungkook with wide eyes and a boxy smile.  Jungkook nods enthusiastically as he motions to Taehyung to go and take a closer look.  He steps in taking in everything.

“Oh John! It’s beautiful!” He turns to spot the mural he has wanted. He clasps his hands together. “It’s just what I wanted! Jungkookie! It’s so pretty isn’t it?!”

Jungkook turns to look at his husband.  Cheeks flushed, blond curls falling over his beautiful eyes, plump glossy lips. “As pretty as a flower,” he replies looking at Taehyung.  Taehyung doesn’t hear him instead his eyes fall on a picture frame by the changing station.  He lets out a sob.  He waddles over quickly picking it up, brushing his fingers over the faces.  He hasn’t seen this picture in years.

“Where did this come from?” He asks John.  John smiles.  He looks at Jungkook. “Ask your husband.”

Taehyung turns to look at Jungkook who walks over to Taehyung.  He brushes Taehyung’s hair out of his eyes. “In the basement.  In your parents things.  I thought it should be here.  So that every moment we’re in here we see them.  As if they were really here.” Taehyung sobs.  “Thank you. I—“

“Shh, it’s ok Baby,” Jungkook says wiping at Taehyung tears on his cheeks.

“Oh I almost forgot! I found this too,” Jungkook looks at John who nods.  John walks over to the dresser and pulls something out handing it to Jungkook.  Jungkook holds it out for Taehyung.  “For our little Baby Bear,” Jungkook says sweetly. Taehyung looks down.  It’s the fluffy brown coat his grandmother had gifted him.  The one that gave him the name: Bear.  Taehyung pulls the coat and the frame close to his chest hugging them both.  Jungkook wraps his arms around Taehyung, holding him, hugging him tightly.  John smiles and he quietly slips out of the room.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Taehyung being a male Omega, his birth plan was pretty simple.  Meet with his doctor and setup a date for his Cesarean surgery.  They setup a date for the second week of April.  It’s April 2nd which means he’s at the home stretch.

“Baby? “Baby!” Jungkook throws his car keys on the table, carrying the bag of strawberries in his hand.  Even though Taehyung is just about ready to pop, the craving for strawberries hasn’t stopped.  He looks around the house to find it completely quiet.  He walks toward the second floor when he glances outside.  He smiles.  He slides the patio doors and finds his Omega sitting in the sun, staring up at the sky, eyes closed.

“Hi Gorgeous.”

Taehyung opens his eyes, smiling widely.  “You're back! Did you get them?”

“I did.  Want to come in and lie down on the couch? I’ll cut them up for you?”

Taehyung nods, smiling.  Jungkook walks over, kissing his forehead.  He helps Taehyung get up out of the patio chair.  Taehyung’s eyes go wide and looks down.

“Baby? Did you just pee yourself,” Jungkook asks, confused.

Taehyung shakes his head. “Um… my water just broke…”

Jungkook stares, as realization of what Taehyung just said hits him.

“Holy shit!”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

“The OR is prepped and ready to go now Taehyung. Are you ready?” his doctor asks.  Taehyung looks at Jungkook who nods and squeezes his hand. “Yes, I’m ready.”

“Ok so at this time we’re going to bring you into the room, while we get your husband here ready.  You’ll meet him in the OR.”

“Jungkookie…I’m scared,” Taehyung whispers. Jungkook smiles, reassuringly.  “Baby, it’s going to be alright.  I’ll be with you the whole time.  She’s going to be here in no time. Imagine Bear.  We are going to officially be parents.” Taehyung chokes back tears and nods.  “Don’t be scared beautiful.  I’ll see you in a couple of minutes.” Taehyung nods. The nurse wheels him off to the OR.  Jungkook takes a deep breath to calm his nerves.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook is brought into the operating room where he finds his husband. He makes his way over to a chair they setup for him next to where Taehyung’s head lies on the table. “Hi Bear.  You doing ok?” A sheet is placed separating them from the bottom half of Taehyung.  There are machines buzzing and whirling.  Nurses, the anesthesiologist, and the doctor checking and getting things ready.

“I’m ok Jungkookie.  I can’t feel anything.  The anesthesia. I’m completely numb.” Jungkook runs his fingers through Taehyung’s golden locks and kisses him on the forehead.

“Ok Taehyung.  You’re a doctor, you know the drill.  I’m going to do an incision now.  Let me know immediately if you feel anything.  Ready?” Taehyung nods.  Jungkook throws up a thumbs up to the doctor.

“Feeling anything?”

“No.”

“Now you’re going to probably feel some pressure as we pull the baby out ok?”

“Ok.”

“Here we go Taehyung.”

Taehyung frowns.  “Baby? You ok? Are you feeling pain?” Jungkook asks worriedly, rubbing Taehyung’s forehead. Taehyung shakes his head.

“No, just like he said.  Pressure.”

“Baby look at me.  I know you’re nervous, but you're doing so good.  I love you so much Bear.” Jungkook runs his fingers through Taehyung’s hair again.

Taehyung releases tears. “I love you too Jungkookie.”

And that’s when it happens.  Jungkook doesn’t think he’s heard anything more beautiful in his entire life.  A baby’s cry. Their babies cry.  Taehyung releases a sob upon hearing it as does Jungkook.

“And we have a girl! Congratulations Jeon family! Jungkook want to do the honors with the umbilical cord?”

Jungkook looks down at Taehyung. Taehyung laughs through his tears. “Go on, go.” Jungkook nods.  He rounds the table and sees her for the first time.  He holds back a sob and takes a deep breath.  The nurse hands him a pair of surgical scissors.

“Right here,” she points.

Jungkook takes a deep breath again and cuts.  “Good job,” the nurse says as the baby is whisked away to be cleaned up and checked out.

“Jungkook, we have to close up Taehyung, but if you wait one second over with Taehyung they’ll clean her up and bring her over to you both.”

Jungkook nods and walks quickly back over to Taehyung who still has tears coating his cheeks. “How is she? Is she ok? Is she healthy?”

Jungkook wipes his tears, smiling widely.  “She’s perfect Baby. Absolutely perfect. Just like her Dad.”

Taehyung smiles.

“Hey you two.  There’s someone here who wants to meet you officially.  The nurse carefully hands the baby to Jungkook.  His eyes widen.  This is their daughter.  His and Taehyung’s.  He cries again.  He leans down and places the baby right up to Taehyung face.

“Hi baby girl, I’m your Daddy,” Taehyung says through more tears.  He leans in slightly kissing her soft cheek. Jungkook shakes his head in disbelief.  They’re parents.  They are actually parents.

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

Jungkook is staring at his family.  His family.  His beautiful husband and baby girl.  He can’t help but think back on everything they’ve been through.  How at one point he could’ve lost all of this.  He gets up and kisses Taehyung’s forehead and leans down kissing his baby girl’s cheek.

Taehyung opens his eyes and smiles.  “How are you feeling Baby?”

“A little sore, but perfect,” he looks down at the little bundle in his arms, wrapped up in a Red Sox blanket and smiles.

“She looks just like you.  Your little twin, Baby.  Prettiest two people in the world,” says Jungkook looking between his Omega and his daughter.

Taehyung looks down and stares at his daughter.  “My mini-me,” he whispers, bending down kissing her forehead softly.  The baby coos. “Jungkookie did you call everyone?”

Jungkook nods. “Yoongi and Daya are on their way.  Should be here soon.  Jin and Namjoon will be by later.  My parents and your Aunt and Uncle booked the first flights out.  Baby, the screams in the phone,” Jungkook shakes his head looking at his daughter, “she’s going to be so spoiled.”

Taehyung giggles, holding his daughter’s tiny little hand.  “As she should be.”

Taehyung moves over a bit in the bed, grimacing as he moves. “Baby, be careful.”

“Jungkookie, come lie with us.” Taehyung motions for Jungkook towards the hospital bed.

“Are you sure? I don’t want to hurt you,” Jungkook frowns.

“You could never hurt me, Jungkookie.  Come on.”

Jungkook smiles. He lies down carefully putting an arm around Taehyung as the Omega cuddles up against his chest while holding and snuggling their daughter.

There’s a knock on the door, as a nurse walks in holding a clipboard.

“How are we doing? Hmm? How is your pain dear?” she asks looking at Taehyung.

“Ok.  A little sore, but not bad.”

She nods.

“And the little one?”

“Perfect,” Jungkook replies looking down at their daughter “she’s perfect.”

The nurse chuckles.  “Well, the birth certificate is fully filled out.  There’s just a few things left.  You both need to sign it and the most important part needs to be added in. The baby’s name.  Do you have a name yet?”

Jungkook and Taehyung look at each other and smile. “We do,” he says looking at Taehyung. Taehyung looks lovingly down at their daughter.

“Hyun Jin.  Her name is Hyun Jin.”

🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊

2 years later…

“Come on Baby Bear let go of your Daddy so he can talk to your Uncle JB alone…” Jungkook reaches over to take Hyun Jin out of Taehyung’s arms, but the two year toddler has a death grip around Taehyung’s neck.

“No,” she pouts softly as she nuzzles into Taehyung’s neck.  Jungkook sighs.  Not only is his daughter the spitting image of his husband, but she has that same deadly pout as well.

“Jinie, go on with Appa honey, give Daddy a few minutes.” Hyun-Jin nods and reaches over to Jungkook, smashing her face in his chest.  Jungkook leans over to Taehyung, softly kissing his lips. “Take your time Baby.” Taehyung nods.

Taehyung turns to look at JB’s grave.

“Hey, J.” Taehyung looks down to look at his lightsaber tattoo, smiling. “Did you see how big she’s gotten since last summer?  Crazy right? It’s like we blink and she’s a year older.  She’s the sweetest baby, JB. A perfect little mixture of me and Jungkook. And you’ll be proud to know she’s as obsessed with Star Wars as we are.  Although a little too obsessed with Darth Vader. I think we lost one to the dark side J.” Taehyung giggles.  “I’m still doing good.  Really good.  No relapses.  Anxiety regulated.  I’m living.  Just like you made me promise I would.  Not just existing, actually living.  Happier than I’ve ever been.  I talk to her about you.  I make sure that she knows how amazing her Uncle was.  How cool he was.  Don’t worry J, she’ll know exactly who you were as a person.  As my best friend.”

“Baby, we have to get going,” Jungkook yells over, Hyun Jin smiling and waving at Taehyung.  Taehyung chuckles and nods.

“Alright J.  I’ll see you again next Summer.  We leave back to Boston again tomorrow.  Don’t worry about me,” Taehyung looks back and looks at his family.  Jungkook tickling Hyun-Jin as she laughs uncontrollably.

“I’m happy. Bye, J.  Love you.”

Taehyung walks over to his family.  Hyun-Jin immediately reaching over to Taehyung and wrapping her arms around his neck.

“Come on Jinie, let’s go say hi to Halmeoni and Harabeoji.”

“Baby Bear, say hello,” Jungkook says to his daughter, patting her back gently while she snuggles into Taehyung’s chest.

She turns towards the two gravestones. “Hi,” she says softly.  Taehyung smiles.

“Hi Mom and Dad.  We can’t stay too long today because your son in law here is adamant that we need to make it to our field today since we leave tomorrow again.  You know how he is with the perfect lighting,” Taehyung says rolling his eyes.

“Mom, Dad don’t listen to him.  He secretly loves that our house is filled with all of our photographs,” Jungkook chuckles nudging Taehyung gently.

“Mom, Dad, I hope you’re doing good up there. We’re great. As you can see. Happy--”

“The happiest!” Jungkook interrupts. Taehyung laughs.

“He’s right, the happiest. But I know you already know that. I know you both watch over all of us, protecting us, guiding us, loving us. Jungkookie’s still the most sought after photographer out there right now. He met with Anna Wintour and Vogue recently.”

“Pfft, Baby that’s nothing. Mom, Dad your son just recently received the John Howland Award from the American Pediatrics Society for Doctor of the Year.” Taehyung blushes. Hyun-Jin cups Taehyung’s face and smiles, “Daddy smaht,” she says.

“Wicked Smaht!” Jungkook says, laughing.

Taehyung rolls his eyes. “Mom, Dad. We are also all healthy. Both physically and mentally. It’s been so many years since that day...sometimes it still seems so fresh in my mind.” Jungkook walks over and puts his arm around Taehyung. Hyun-Jin nuzzles into Taehyung’s neck, drifting off to sleep. “But, it doesn’t hurt anymore when I think about it. It makes me sad you’re not here. For her. For all of us, but when I think about both of you its not really sadness I feel anymore. It’s--I don’t know how to describe it. It’s pride. Thinking about how amazing you both were. How well you raised me. How I am the person and parent I am now because of both of you. I’m grateful for that.” Jungkook squeezes him tightly. “I don’t want to brag Mom, but I think me and Jungkookie beat you in the soulmate department. I definitely think our love as surpassed yours...”

“Baby, its not a competition...”

“But if it was Mom and Dad, we’d be winning,” Taehyung giggles.

“Baby, I hate to do this but...”

“The lighting I know.”

“Sorry Mom and Dad I have to make sure I shoot my muse.”

“And when he says muse he means Jinie. I’ve been demoted to second place now Mom and Dad. Can you believe it?!”

Jungkook scoffs, “That is not true it’s a tie. You’re both my muses,” he leans over kissing Taehyung on his head, then Hyun-Jin.

“Although in 9 month's time, it’ll be a three-way tie.”

Taehyung freezes, eyes wide. He turns to look at Jungkook who has a very amused look on his face. “What?” Taehyung whispers.

“Milky, Baby. Your scent. You smell like strawberries and cream...again.” Jungkook smiles, eyes sparkling with so much love.

“Are you sure?” Taehyung asks, smile turning wide and boxy.

“Positive.”

Taehyung turns to his parents’ graves, smiling. “Mom, Dad...you’re going to be grandparents again!”

2 years later...

Taehyung and Jungkook sit in a big, beautiful field filled with flowers of all different colors. Their field. They’re sitting under the large tree that sits surrounded by flowers making rainbows upon rainbows of different hues all flowing in the wind. The ones that remind Taehyung of waves in the ocean. Waves of colors and tones. Always so beautiful.

Taehyung hangs up his phone, looking up a few feet away where their children, their daughter and their son, run around chasing each other among the flowers. He smiles.

“How is Daya feeling?” Jungkook asks, sitting behind Taehyung. Taehyung leans back into Jungkook’s arms. He inhales, being surrounded by the ocean.

“Nauseous. God, I don’t miss that. But I think she’s sadder that she had to drop out of the production so soon because of it. But it’s fine.”

“And Yoongi?”

“Nervous as fuck.”

Jungkook chuckles, “For the baby or the nomination?”

“Both,” Taehyung laughs.

“Pfft. I’m not even sure why? He’s a shoe in for the Grammy for Producer of the Year. The nomination is nothing. And the baby, well, there’s nothing that can prepare him for that until it gets here.” Taehyung nods.

“Baby Bear! Not too far, sweets! Stay closer to us, ok?” Taehyung yells over at his children. He watches as Hyun-Jin gently takes her little brother’s hand and guides him back closer. He remembers when his Aunt just said recently that his children remind her of when Taehyung and Yoongi were little. Careful and gentle protectiveness. He smiles. He can’t wait to see his cousin when they visit New York next week.  He misses him.

“Baby, it's getting late and we need to get the kids changed and ready for dinner with everyone,” Jungkook says, leaning in to kiss Taehyung on the neck. Taehyung shivers. After all these years and he can still elicit thunderbolts through his body. “But first I want us to take a family picture for the collection. I’ll setup the timer on the camera and we can take one all together.”

“Ok Jungkookie,” Taehyung says turning slightly to kiss Jungkook on the lips. Jungkook can taste his strawberry lip gloss. Jungkook licks his lips and lifts himself up from the ground. He dusts himself off and walks towards their children.

“Jinie! JB! Come on, we’re all going to take a family picture!” Taehyung smiles as he watches Hyun-Jin take JB’s hand and run over. They barrel into Taehyung knocking him backwards. Jungkook laughs. He walks over and sets up the camera in the same spot he always does. The same spot he’s been doing it since that first time with Taehyung when they were children. Hyun-Jin and JB settle in front of Taehyung readying themselves. Jungkook sets the timer and runs over. He sits next to Taehyung wrapping his arm around his waist, pulling him closer. Jungkook looks over at his children, then at his beautiful Omega who is staring intently at the camera.  Jungkook leans in close to whisper in Taehyung’s ear, “Smile, Baby.” Taehyung turns toward Jungkook and looks into his eyes both not turning to look at the camera but looking deep in each other’s eyes, blue and crimson red, smiling lovingly at each other.  Right before the camera shutters...

“I love you Jungkookie.”

“I love you Bear.”

Notes:

That’s it! This was my first fanfic. I have been an ARMY and a Tae Bias since 2015 so having this be about my babies Taekook was a no brainer. I have enjoyed every moment of this process.
Thank you so much for all of you who took the time to read it and supported it and commented. It means the world to me that you all liked it and gave it so much love.
