Chapter Text
Jungkook looks down at his watch, as he awkwardly smiles at the baker. He shifts in his seat uncomfortably. He sighs. “I’m really sorry. I am. Let me just try to c—“
“I’m here! Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I’m here!” Taehyung runs through the door of the bakery, soaking wet, from head to toe. He moves his wet bangs from his forehead, leaning into Jungkook to kiss him hello. Jungkook frowns.
“Um, Baby, why are you soaking wet?” Jungkook asks, looking at Taehyung, concerned.
Taehyung sits down in the empty chair next to Jungkook and turns toward the baker. “Hi, I’m really sorry for being late. I’m sure my fiancé can back me up I’m usually very punctual,” Taehyung turns to Jungkook, smiling taking his hand. Jungkook snorts. Punctual? Yes, usually, but not when he has school and clinical in his schedule. He turns to look at Taehyung who is shaking, shivering. Jungkook sighs, taking off his coat and placing it on Taehyung’s shoulders. Taehyung gives him a thankful look as they both face the baker.
“It’s quite alright. Your fiancé did tell me how busy your schedule is,” the baker looks at Taehyung and the current state he is in, the very wet state he is in, and gives him a sympathetic grin. “I can reschedule if you like.”
Taehyung’s eyes widen, “No! It took us forever to get this appointment and find an opening in both our schedules--”
“Baby, your soaking wet and I don’t want you getting sick, maybe rescheduling is a good idea.” Jungkook reaches over to caress Taehyung’s cheek. He doesn’t fail to notice how tired his boy looks. And a little pale. He wonders if he ate today.
“Jungkookie, I’m fine. Really. I just got caught in the rain after my umbrella broke. Traffic was horrible so I got out of the Uber and decided to just run the rest of the way, that’s all. Taehyung’s teeth chatter. Jungkook looks over at the baker who smiles uncomfortably.
“So, should we start? I can’t wait to try some cake.”
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Jungkook smiles, lovingly at his beautiful fiancé. Fiancé, he still can’t believe Taehyung is actually going to marry him. It’s been a little over a year since they got engaged with a wedding date set in June. They are moving along with wedding plans as best they can. Jungkook continues to excel in his career, with freelance work and sales of his photography exceeding all expectations. Taehyung is in his last year of medical school. Graduating a month before their wedding day.
“Jungkookie? You’re spacing out,” Taehyung giggles, “did you hit a cake coma?” The baker laughs as he hands Taehyung pictures of what the cake will look like for their big day.
“Sorry Baby, what did you say?”
“I said which flavor did you like better?” Taehyung points to the strawberry white chocolate or the chocolate caramel.
“I like the one that I know makes you the happiest. So that’s the one we should go for,” Jungkook looks over at the baker confidently, “we’re going to go for the strawberry white chocolate.” Taehyung beams.
“Really? You don’t mind that it’s strawberries?” Jungkook reaches over pulling Taehyung’s chair as closely as he can to himself, slipping an arm behind his waist, nuzzling into Taehyung’s neck, “Strawberries are my favorite thing Baby you know that.”
Taehyung giggles, immediately remembering they aren’t alone. He clears his throat, looking up at the baker who is smirking back at them. “Um, sorry.”
“It’s ok. I’d be concerned if you were getting married and you didn’t have your hands all over each other.” He laughs. “Ok so I think we are all set on your end. Now the rest is up to me. We’ll be in touch.”
Taehyung nods, enthusiastically. “Um, can I use your bathroom? Jungkookie, I’ll just be a sec, ok?”
“Ok Baby, I’ll be right here.”
Taehyung walks into the bathroom, locking the door behind him. He opens the tap and splashes cold water on his face. He looks at his reflection and grips his chest. He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath. He looks up, staring back it himself. “Get a grip Taehyung. Fucking keep it together will you! You’ve been fine for so long don’t let them take hold. Not now.” He exhales deeply. He fixes his makeup a bit, fluffs out his damp hair. And exists the bathroom. Meryl fucking Streep.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
“I know Auntie In-na. I will, I’ll call them back. I’ve just been so busy with school and the hospital I really haven’t had a chance to.” Taehyung swallows hard. He can taste bile in the back of his mouth. He feels so nauseous. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t eaten all day. It’s not necessary a bad thing. At least this way he won’t look huge in his suit for the wedding. “Yes, I’ll make sure to call them today. Auntie, I have to go, I have to get back to my rotation. Ok, I will. Bye.”
Taehyung hangs up quickly running up the stairs, bolting out of the door, taking in deep breaths. He’s on the roof of the hospital. He’s been coming up here lately to try to calm himself. Ground himself and get some air. His phone rings again. He looks down at it quickly as his chest starts to tighten. The florist.
“Fuck!” He exhales out and forces a smile on his face.
“Hi, Sharon, it’s Taehyung.”
“Hi Taehyung, I haven’t heard back on which of the two themes you’ve decided on, so I figured I’d call.” Taehyung frowns.
“Um, didn’t Jungkook call you? He was supposed to be in charge of that.”
“No, sorry he hasn’t. And I don’t mean to rush you, but I do need to know immediately so I can start prepping.”
Taehyung runs a frustrated hand down his face. Of course, he didn’t. “Right, of course. I’m sorry. So, we’ll go with theme 1, the one that includes the hanging floral chandelier centerpieces.” Taehyung hears a beep on his phone and looks down. They’re looking for him on the ER floor. ‘Fuck.’
“Great! Beautiful choice. That’s all I needed to know. Maybe I should just keep in contact with you in the future. You seem more reachable.” Taehyung sighs.
“Sure. That would be fine. I’m sorry I don’t mean to cut this short, but I do have to get back to work.”
“Of course! I’ll speak to you soon! Thanks Taehyung.”
Taehyung hangs up the phone, taking in small breaths. “You can do this. Just keep it together. It’ll be fine. You’ll be fine.” Taehyung keeps repeating the words like it’s a mantra. Hoping that those voices that are getting progressively louder in his head lately get the hint and leave him alone.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung hangs up the phone with the caterer and takes a deep breath. Yet another thing Jungkook was supposed to take care of that didn’t happen. He feels his whole body go cold. He’s trying. He really is, but he feels he’s losing himself little by little each day. He thought wedding planning would be fun. But between school, his clinical rotation and all this wedding planning he feels like he’s being torn apart.
Then there’s Jungkook. He was given the opportunity to show his newest photo series at a new gallery in Boston. It’s an amazing opportunity. He recently had some of his photos even be picked up by a magazine and some other publications. His career is taking off. Taehyung understands how busy he is. How much he has on his mind. But Taehyung wishes he could just be more helpful with this stuff. Take more ownership for some of it. Taehyung gets that a lot of it stems from Jungkook just wanting Taehyung to be happy and choose what he wants. “I trust you Baby, just pick what you want,” he had said when they first discussed what kind of wedding they wanted. Taehyung just thought he would get more help. Divide and conquer. Not Taehyung gets everything while he feels himself drowning deeper and deeper as the days go on.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
His phone rings for the hundredth time today. He can already feel his chest tightening. He’s starting to realize his phone, that ring, has become a trigger for his anxiety.
“Hey Yoongi.” Taehyung sits on the floor of his bathroom.
“Tae? You ok? You sound… off.”
“I’m fine. What’s up?”
“Are you sure—“
“Yoongi, why are you calling?” Taehyung doesn’t mean to be curt, rude, but he’s exhausted. It was supposed to be a day off today and instead he ran around all day getting wedding stuff done.
“Tae. Cuz. What’s going on?”
Taehyung feels the tears well. He holds them back. He swallows them down. He’s not going to let himself go there. Not again. He takes a deep breath.
“Nothing Yoongles. I’m fine. Just tired. Clinical has been kicking my ass that’s all.”
“You sure Cuz?”
“Hmm.”
“We’ll I just wanted to let you know that the blocks of rooms for guests that you guys set aside, there’s some issue with them or something. We’re all having issues booking.”
Taehyung feels the tears starts to fall. He gulps. “Ok Yoongles, no problem. Don’t worry. I’ll call and find out what’s up and fix it. Anything else.”
Silence. He can hear Yoongi breathing on the other end. He wipes at the loose tears he’s struggling to hold back.
“Ok Cuz. Thanks. Just let us know… um… maybe you can give me the info and me and Daya can help you with fixing whatever the issue is—“
“No, no don’t be silly. It’s my wedding. I’ll fix it. It’s fine. Thanks. But I’m—I need to go. I’m exhausted and want to take a warm bath.”
“Ok Tae. Just—just let me know if you need help or—just let me know.”
Taehyung cuts the call. He grips the phone in his hand and screams.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
“Baby? You home?” Jungkook enters the apartment looking around. It’s quiet. He sees Taehyung’s shoes by the door, so he knows he’s home. “Bear?”
Taehyung eyes flutter open. He looks around adjusting his eyes. He’s still in their bathroom. He must’ve fallen asleep on the floor. He groans as he lifts himself up. He’s startled when he hears a knock on the bathroom door.
“Baby? You in there?” Jungkook asks through the door.
Taehyung panics as he looks at his reflection in the mirror. He looks awful. “Yeah, yeah Kook I’ll be right out!” He washes his face quickly hoping Jungkook doesn’t notice his red swollen eyes. He exhales out and puts on the best smile he can muster opening the door. He’s hit with the overwhelming smell of the ocean as he collides with Jungkook’s strong chest. He doesn’t move, instead wrapping his arms around the Alpha, inhaling and relaxing for the first time all day.
Jungkook smiles. “Hi Baby. Miss me?”
“You have no idea,” Taehyung cuddles into Jungkook’s chest. “Kook, you forgot about the caterer.”
“Fuck,” Jungkook says, as he squeezes Taehyung tightly. “I’m sorry Tae. I was so busy with the gallery opening that I totally forgot.”
Taehyung nods. “It’s fine. I took care of it.”
Jungkook pulls back looking at Taehyung cupping his face, gently kissing him. “What would I do without you? Hmm?”
“Kook, there’s an issue with the hotel block of rooms. Do you think you can call them and find out what it is?”
“Sure. I’ll try to call them tomorrow. I have some meetings with the gallery, but I think—“
“Forget it. It’s fine. I can call,” Taehyung pulls away, he rubs his hands on his thighs. Jungkook frowns. “Taehyung? Are you ok?”
“Yup. Great. I am going to head to bed though Jungkookie. I’m pretty tired.”
Jungkook furrows his brows again. “Baby? It’s only 7.”
Taehyung shrugs. “I just wanna sleep.”
“Ok well, how about you sleep after dinner. I’ll cook us something—“
“I already ate.” He didn’t. He hasn’t eaten all day. Taehyung walks out of the room into the bedroom, shutting the door and sinking himself deep into the blankets. Hoping tomorrow will be a much better day.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung stands in front of the mirror in the dressing room, frowning. He hates this. He feels so big in this suit. When he picked it out and tried it on for the first time with Daya and Yoongi he fell in love with it, but now, now he just sees hips. And ass. And fat. He grips his hair in frustration. He knows he’s been eating more than he should lately. The stress of everything has him neglecting his weight. He sits on the tiny stool in the dressing room kicking off the dress shoes. He’s so frustrated.
“Mr. Kim, are you ready to come out.”
Taehyung sighs. He puts his dress shoes back on stepping out of the dressing room.
“Ooooo, beautiful! What a beauty!” The seamstress says, cupping her hands together. Taehyung frowns. Beautiful? Where?
“Um you don’t think it’s too tight? On my hips? I—don’t think I can pull this off.”
“Nonsense! Pfft, you look gorgeous, in fact… have you lost weight?”
Lost weight? Taehyung snorts. He wishes. He’s tried to intermittently fast and see if it helps a bit, but he doesn’t think it’s working.
“Yes, yes you have. I’ll have to take it in a bit. No more losing weight Mr. Kim. We don’t want you looking sickly and too skinny on your day.”
Taehyung can taste bile. “Did my fiancé come and try his on yet?”
The seamstress smiles. “Yes, he did. Wait till you see him. So amazingly handsome.”
Taehyung nods. He can’t help but feel a little jealous of Jungkook. How fucking gorgeous and perfect he looks all the time. His perfect body, his abs. Taehyung looks back at himself in the mirror watching the seamstress take in his pants. He really does hate himself.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
An hour. An hour is how long Taehyung spent on the phone trying to fix the issue with the hotel guest block of rooms. He’s standing in the staircase at Boston Children’s Hospital. He’s pacing trying to keep his breathing in check. He looks down at his watch. A fucking hour of his time wasted. He was supposed to use his lunch time to complete his residency applications. They are due soon and he needs to finish them as soon as possible.
He hears his phone ring. His chest immediately tightens. His palms become sweaty, ears ringing.
“No. No no no,” Taehyung can feel the tears well. He runs up the stairs quickly heading to the roof. He bursts outside kneeling to the ground, vomiting. He grabs at his throat. He can feel his airway constructing. He’s having a panic attack. He hasn’t had one in years. He needs to breathe. How does he breathe? How did it go again? It’s been so long since he’s needed it…
*Empty the lungs of air
*Breathe in quietly through the nose for 4 seconds
*Hold the breath for a count of 7 seconds
*Exhale forcefully through the mouth, pursing the lips and making a “whoosh” sound, for 8 seconds
He feels himself start to be able to take some breaths. Still shallow, but there. He feels lightheaded, tired, and he smells like vomit. He pushes his bangs off his face. He hears his phone ring again. He shuts the ringer off quickly. Jungkook. He sends him to voicemail.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung gets home, spent. He hasn’t eaten all day. He knows he shouldn’t, not if he wants to look ok on his wedding day and not like a beached whale, but that panic attack took everything out of him. His body feels drained, and he needs food. He goes to the fridge and takes out some leftovers, heating them up and eating them quickly. He looks down at the plate. He frowns. The food feels so heavy in his stomach. He feels his phone vibrate again in his pocket. He knows who it is. Who it’s been all day. Jungkook. He lets it go to voicemail. He enters their bedroom walking over to the full-length mirror they have in the corner of the room. He stands staring at himself. He feels disgusting. He takes the blanket off the bed throwing it on the mirror. He walks into the bathroom and without even thinking he kneels down, bends over the toilet, and puts his finger down his throat. He pushes as far as he can go before gagging and emptying the content of his stomach into the toilet bowl. He wipes his mouth on his sleeve, looking down at himself and into the toilet. He puts his hands in his hands and starts to sob.
“What the fuck did I just do?”
He gets up shakily, walking out of the bathroom into the living room. He catches a glimpse of JB’s painting near the door.
“It wasn’t a relapse Boston, it was a lapse. A moment where you slipped, you fell, but you’re going to get yourself back up and keep working on your recovery. No blame. No shame. This isn’t you failing. It’s you learning to get back up again.”
He takes his car keys and quickly heads out the door.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
“Hi, Emily. Think she might be able to squeeze me in today. I’ve sort of had an episode.” Taehyung is standing in his therapist’s office. He’s hoping he can do just as JB told him. Pick himself up. No shame. No blame. He needs to try to fix this lapse.
“You’re in luck Tae. She had a cancellation today. Let me go let her know you’re here.”
Taehyung sighs in relief. He feels his phone vibrate. Jungkook. Again. He takes it out shutting it off completely.
“Tae? Come on in.”
Taehyung enters Dr. Reed’s office, sitting on the couch, rubbing his hands. “Ok so before we start, I think I need to come clean and say I haven’t been totally honest with you in our sessions.”
Dr. Reed looks up at Taehyung. Poker face. He swears this must be a trait all therapists and psychologists have. “Ok,” she says as she sits opposite Taehyung.”
“I—my anxiety has been back. A lot. Bad. And I’m sort of having weird thoughts again. About my body and how I look.” Taehyung looks down at his hands, he twists his engagement ring around his finger avoiding her gaze. He feels ashamed.
“Have you stopped eating again?” Dr. Reed asks, crossing her legs.
Taehyung nods. “But It’s just so that I can fit into my suit. For the wedding. My fiancé—if you saw him, you’d understand. He’s perfect and I’m—I just want to look ok for the wedding,” he says quietly.
“Taehyung, did the restriction of food come before or after the anxiety starting again?”
“Um… maybe… after. I’m not sure. I guess I just found myself not eating again because I was too anxious to then it just snowballed from there. I—haven’t told you everything.”
Dr. Reed looks deep into Taehyung’s eyes silently encouraging him to continue. He takes a deep breath. “I purged today. I haven’t done it in years.”
Dr. Reed nods. “Tae, can you tell me about the anxiety? When did that pick up again?”
“The wedding. The wedding planning.” He feels sick.
“Ok. Can you tell me a little more about that?”
“Stress is a huge trigger for my anxiety. Between school and my last clinical rotation, I think adding on all the wedding stuff pushed me over the edge. I feel like I’m suffocating. Like I can’t breathe. I’m busy all the time and I can never shut my mind off. And it’s not that I don’t want to get married because I do. So bad. I love Jungkook with everything in me, but I don’t think I can do this alone.” Taehyung twists the ring in his fingers again.
“Why do you feel like you have to? He’s your fiancé. Wedding planning should be done together.”
“I know it’s just that he’s so busy and I want to be able to handle this you know. I mean anybody else would be able to.”
Dr. Reed frowns. “Everybody needs help sometimes Tae. It’s not wrong to ask for help. You have a lot on your plate and especially for you that can be detrimental to your mental health.”
Taehyung snorts, “Yeah especially for someone like me. If Jungkook were engaged to someone normal without all these fucked up mental conditions he would be able to rely on them to handle everything. The stress wouldn’t put them into a spiral. I just want to be able to prove I can be normal for once. That I can do it like a normal person can. Clearly, I fucked up and that’s not the case.”
“Tae, I’m not sure who told you normal people aren’t affected by stress or anxiety, but your view of what’s “normal” is very skewed. Everyone needs support. To feel supported. To feel like they can ask for help. It doesn’t make you weak. Anyone taking in the number of things you are trying to juggle in your life would break Taehyung. It’s not a failure—“
“It’s a lapse.” Taehyung interrupts.
Dr. Reed smiles. “Yes. You’re right. A lapse. But it won’t stay a lapse unless you realize what led to it. Taehyung the stress you are under is too much for anyone to have to handle. You are marrying a man who by the sounds of it would give the world for you.”
Taehyung smiles. “He would. He would, 100%.”
“It’s time you are honest with him again and tell him the truth. Tell him how you feel. And most importantly ask for help Taehyung. Let others support you. No one in this world is perfect… not even your Alpha. He has his flaws like we all do. If you start to revert to the old Taehyung, the Taehyung that compares himself to others, the one who lets his anxiety, his eating disorder control him you are allowing for all those negative irrational thoughts to come to fruition. This is absolutely a lapse and you took the first step in your recovery. You came here. You’re being honest with me and with yourself. Now it’s time you be honest with the people in your life and let them help you. They love you. You’re about to take vows Taehyung. Sickness and in health. Good times and bad. They don’t start at the moment you say them they started the moment you two fell in love.”
Taehyung wipes his tears with his sleeve. He nods.
“If I invite you to our wedding, would you come or is that like a conflict of interest?”
“I’d be honored to be at your wedding.”
Taehyung smiles.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung puts the keys in the front door, pushing. He feels so tired even opening the door is taking all his effort and energy. He’s hit with the very sour scent of a certain Alpha. Like rotten seaweed. He sighs. Taehyung kicks off his shoes. He kisses his fingertips placing them on JB’s painting as he walks through the hallway. He sees Jungkook sitting in the living room with his head in his hands.
“Kook?”
Jungkook looks up. He looks tired. Like he’s been crying. “Where have you been I’ve been calling you all day.” He gets up from the couch, eyebrows furrowed. “And don’t fucking lie. I called the hospital. Ten fucking times Taehyung! Then I called all over Harvard. Then I called Yoongi. And Daya. I even called your Aunt.” Jungkook’s face is turning red. He’s pacing the room.
“Jungkook—“
“There’s a blanket on the mirror,” he stops pacing and sits on the couch. He puts his head in his hands again.
Taehyung can feel his eyes watering. “Jungkook—“
“The toilet was filled with vomit.” Jungkook gets up and walks over to Taehyung, he cups his face. “Do you want to tell me the truth?” Taehyung nods in Jungkook’s hands.
“Will you sit with me, please?”
Jungkook takes hand sitting down, taking Taehyung by the waist and placing him on his lap. Taehyung wraps his arms around him snuggling into his neck. He’s missed this.
“I—had a panic attack today.” He can feel Jungkook tense under him, but he stays silent. He starts to rub circles on his waist. “On the roof of the hospital. My anxiety, it’s been back. Really bad.”
“For how long?”
“A while. Since I started with the wedding stuff,” he feels him tense against and he doesn’t want him getting the wrong idea. “Kook it’s not the wedding. I want to get married. I can’t wait to be married to you. It’s the planning. The getting there. All the stuff I have to do. Along with school. And clinical. And I’m really stressed out about my residency applications and what happens if I don’t get in anywhere and then what? I would have wasted all these years going to school for no one to hire me. And I feel like I shouldn’t be stressed by all these things. I should be able to handle them all,” Taehyung keeps talking, the dam has been opened, “like a normal person. And maybe if you had a normal fiancé who can deal with stress better then all this stuff would be done, and you wouldn’t have to worry about any of it—“
“Taehyung! Baby, breathe.” Taehyung freezes. He takes a deep breath, opens his mouth and closes it again. Jungkook looks up at Taehyung and what Taehyung sees breaks his heart.
“Kook why are you crying?”
“I’m your fiancé. And I didn’t see it. Fucking again. I didn’t see it again. I’m supposed to be supportive, to help you. And I’ve been so wrapped up in my own work, my stupid gallery opening that I didn’t see it. I wasn’t paying attention.”
Taehyung wipes Jungkook’s tears. “No Jungkookie this isn’t your fault. I should’ve been better at being honest. At not thinking I had to handle it all on my own. I should’ve asked for help. I just didn’t want to seem weak. I wanted to be able to handle things like normal people do.”
“Baby, a normal person would have yelled at me and called me an asshole for leaving everything to you. It’s OUR wedding and I’ve been sitting back letting you do all the work. That’s not fair. You have enough on your plate too. You shouldn’t have to handle it all by yourself. I’m sorry. And I’m sorry for not taking care of you better lately. I missed all the signs.”
“So did I. I missed them too. I’ve worked so hard all of years to know my triggers. To work through them. To not let my insecurities get the best of me and I let them all win. I let them take control again. The voices Jungkook. They were just so fucking loud again.”
“Then you need to talk to me. Tell me. So that I can help you silence them. Baby, why didn’t you tell me about your residency applications. That you were feeling that way about placements.”
“Your career is at a peak Kook. And I’m—Fuck I can’t even handle a bit of stress without floundering. I just want you to be proud of me. You’re so successful and I want to be worthy of you. What if I don’t get placed anywhere? What do I do Jungkook?” Taehyung’s lip quivers.
“We don’t have to think about that because that’s not something that’s even a possibility. Taehyung you go to Harvard Medical School. You are well on your way to graduating top of your class. You’re respected by all the doctors you’ve worked with during your clinicals. Your professors love you and wrote you stellar recommendations. Baby, you’re going to get your top pick. You have nothing to worry about. And as for feeling worthy. That’s just stupid.”
Taehyung shoves Jungkook, frowning. “I’m sorry, but it is. My career is going well yes, but you are months away from becoming a Doctor. A fucking doctor Taehyung. I take pictures. You save people Baby. You literally have people’s lives in your hands. What you do, fuck it’s incomparable to anything I will ever achieve. Believe me Bear. You’re fucking worthy.”
Taehyung sits silently debating on whether or not he should tell Jungkook EVERYTHING. But this is his Alpha. His husband to be. He needs to be honest. “Um, my anxiety isn’t the only thing that I lost control over. My eating disorder—I’ve been having some episodes.”
Jungkook frowns. “Like what? The mirror?”
Taehyung nods. “Yeah the mirror. I’ve been restricting calories. Food in general.”
“Oh Baby,” Jungkook rests his forehead against Taehyung. “Can I you ask you why?”
Taehyung shrugs. “The anxiety. It sort of led me to not eat, but then it spiraled again Kook. I don’t know I went to try on my suit and all these fucking voices in my head. I hated the way I looked. I just don’t like my skin very much these days that’s all and,” Taehyung swallows down his tears. “I—fuck. I purged today.”
Jungkook looks up, shaking his head, sighing. “I wish you saw yourself the way I see you Bear. I wish you could see how perfect you are. That there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you. But,” Jungkook takes Taehyung’s hand, adjusting his engagement ring, “my vow is to keep reminding you of that every day. For the rest of our lives. I promise.” He rests his forehead against Taehyung’s. “You’re going to get on track. I’m going to help you. With everything. I’m going to help you. I’m going to be right beside you. Ok?”
Taehyung sighs. “Ok Jungkookie. Ok.”
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung looks at himself in the mirror and smiles. “I look fucking good tonight.” He sees Jungkook smirk wrapping his arms around him as he looks at them in the mirror. “Yeah you fucking do. Your ass looks good enough to eat Baby,” Jungkook leans in nibbling on Taehyung’s ear.
“Stop it! You’ll make us late!” Taehyung swats away Jungkook, who shrugs.
“So?”
“You want to be late to our own bachelor party night?”
Jungkook pulls Taehyung by the waist band of his leather pants, “I. Do. Not. Care. Look at you,” Jungkook grips Taehyung’s ass cheeks in his hands. “Come on Baby, let’s be late.”
Taehyung leans into Jungkook’s ear, breath hot, sending a shiver up Jungkook’s spine… “No! Calm down! We just had sex this morning. We are not being late,” Taehyung huffs, poking Jungkook. Jungkook groans.
“Fuck! Fine! But you are staying by my side all fucking night. All night Taehyung. I’m not going to have some assholes hit on you the week of our wedding. I’ll fucking kill them.”
“Yeah, fine by me cause if I see any bitch talk to you, I’ll claw their fucking eyes out.”
Jungkook smirks, “I love when you get possessive. Come on Tae, let’s be late,” Jungkook says, wiggling his eyebrows.
“No! I told you! Now come on!”
There is exactly 3 days left until Taehyung officially becomes a Jeon and he couldn’t be happier. After the events of his “lapse” he upped his therapy sessions with Dr. Reed to two a week and joined group therapy for eating disorder patients. It took him a while to get back on track, but with Jungkook’s help he eventually was able to regulate his anxiety again. Jungkook and Taehyung sat down and discussed the wedding planning and what exactly needed to be done. They split the tasks between the two also getting help from Yoongi and Daya who were more than happy to help and be involved.
It also helped that Taehyung’s anxiety and stress about school was alleviated once he graduated a month ago. He proudly walked the stage as a graduate of Harvard Medical School. Finally, being able to say he’s a doctor. It was a bittersweet moment, finishing something that he’s worked so hard for, but not having his parents there to see him. But he had the rest of his family, including his soon to be Jeon family and of course the love of his life, Jungkook.
Now, the only stress comes from waiting on his residency letters to come in. But he’s hit send on all of them and it’s very much out of his control now. He’s worked hard and did all he could. All that’s left is to wait. He will be happy with whatever comes. Taehyung is once again feeling more in control of his feelings, his thoughts, his actions. He’s feeling healthy again.
Taehyung believes a lot has to do with having everyone now in Boston. A little over a week ago everyone started to trickle into Massachusetts. First Yoongi and Daya, who have continued to take over some of the tedious brunt work related to the wedding planning. Taehyung laughed when Daya excitedly announced that it was their pleasure as it was giving them all the experience they would need when they got engaged, as Yoongi proceeded to choke on his coffee.
Yoongi also happily took charge of things fulfilling his duties as best man. He was taking these duties very seriously since the day that Taehyung had asked him. Taehyung had driven to New York and surprised him....
“Taehyung?! What the fuck are you doing here?! Is Kook here too?!” Yoongi asked, watching his cousin smile brightly, standing on his doorway.
“Nope, just me Yoongles. I missed you and honestly a 3 ½ hour drive is nothing to see you.”
Yoongi surged forward, wrapping Taehyung in a hug. Taehyung smiled as he settled into Yoongi’s shoulder.
“I’ve missed you Cuz.”
“Me too Yoongles.”
They had ordered Chinese food. Eating, laughing, and reminiscing about when they were children.
“Yoongles, there actually is a reason why I’m here. I didn’t want to do this over the phone. I wanted to ask you in person.”
“Ok...”
“Will you be my best man?” Taehyung smiles, wide and boxy. Yoongi sits and stares, trying to process what Taehyung just asked him.
“Me? You want me?”
“Of course I do. You’re my big brother. Yoongi, I don’t think I have to tell you this, but you know you saved me, right?” Yoongi frowns. He sits back, tilting his head.
“What do you mean?”
“That night, the night I ended up telling you everything. How I was feeling after the accident, what my anxiety was doing to me. The thoughts I’d been having. I promised you not to tell anyone. And you didn’t listen. You went and told Auntie In-na because as you had so smartly pointed out we were just kids. Just kids trying to navigate the difficult world of grief and trauma. I’m grateful you didn’t listen to me. I’m grateful for you, for stepping up and getting an adult to me, to help us. It brought Dr. Hollywood into my life. it brought therapy, and breathing techniques, and processing and understanding into my fucked up world. You were the first to notice something wasn’t right with me. The first one to see how much I was suffering. It saved my life Yoongles. I owe you my life.” Yoongi chokes back a sob, as Taehyung continues. “I never had siblings, but I didn’t care much because I had you. I lived in Boston miles and miles away from you, but it didn’t matter. I knew you were my cousin, my brother, the one I could always count on to protect me. You’ve protected me my whole life and I wouldn’t want anyone else standing next to me being my best man. There is no one better. I love you Yoongles and I want you to be my best man.”
Yoongi reaches over grabbing Taehyung by the arm pulling him into a bone crushing hug.
“You’re crushing me,” Taehyung mumbled.
“Deal with it, brat. And I’d be honored to be your best man. You’re my little cousin, my little brother Tae. I now you have Jungkook now. To take care of you, but I will always be here for you. To help you, protect you. Forever Cuz.”
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Jungkook’s choice for a best man had been relatively easy as well. He picked his brother Min-Jae, who was in all honesty, shocked when Jungkook had asked him. The siblings didn’t always get along, but as the years went on, as they grew up to become adults, they found each other connecting and relating to each other better. They talk almost everyday and have developed a strong brotherly bond. Something Jungkook had always wanted growing up, now grateful that adulthood has given them that.
Min-Jae, along with his girlfriend, Mina, Jungkook’s parents, and Yoongi’s parents all arrived a week ago. Eager to also help with any outstanding preparations. And just happy that Taehyung and Jungkook were finally together as they should be. Jin, Namjoon, Jimin, and Eun Woo all arrived a day later.
Once the whole gang were here, Min-Jae had suggested they should throw a bachelor part for the both of them to which Taehyung immediately threw a huff saying that if they even thought about bringing a stripper anywhere near his man he was going to kick everyone’s ass. Yoongi instead had suggested they just have a night out, everyone together. No stripper, no arguing, no jealously. Just a night out, with some drinks, some dancing for those who want to partake, and plenty of celebrating the two people who are so special in everyone’s hearts. Taehyung had immediately sobbed and agreed.
But now Yoongi was regretting all his life’s decisions because he is on a dance floor, actually dancing. “Baby, I need to be drunk, no, very drunk if you intend on keeping me on this dance floor the rest of the night!” Yoongi screamed into Daya’s ear. Daya rolled her eyes and sighed.
“I mean, I guess if that’s the only way...off to the bar we go Alpha!” she yells, taking him back to the booth where Taehyung and Jungkook are eating each other’s faces. Daya groans when she sees the display. “Can’t you two keep your hands off each other for like one second?! GROSS! You’re already getting married! Save it for the wedding night.”
“No need to save it, there’s PLENTY left,” Jungkook slurs, nibbling on Taehyung’s neck. Taehyung giggles as he he bares his neck for Jungkook.
“That's fucking it! You two are cut off from drinking. I’m fucking traumatized!” Yoongi shouts over the music. He watches as Jin and Namjoon make their way back over to the booth, Jin adjusting his shirt. Yoongi cringes. “Don’t tell me you two were...”
Namjoon blushes, while Jin snorts, “Ok we WON’T tell you. Are you guys going to the bar. I’m parched.”
“I bet you are,” Daya says smirking.
“Remember when I said I thought it was impressive you learned Korean for Yoongi,” Daya nods, “I take it back,” Jin says. Daya laughs, playfully pushing Jin.
“Yoongles get me another drink, pweeeeesseee,” Taehyung giggles. Jungkook turns laughing and boops Taehyung on the nose. “Bear, so cute!” Jungkook squeezes Taehyung cheeks and looks at Yoongi, “Isn’t our Bear so cute...and so fucking sexy,” he pulls Taehyung in by his cheeks and kisses him harshly.
“Yeah, nope you are both definitely not getting anything else to drink. Come on guys off to the bar,” Yoongi looks at Eun Woo and Jimin, “Watch them, we’ll be back.”
Jimin looks over at Taehyung and Jungkook who are wrapped around each other. He laughs. He leans over and whispers into Eun Woo’s ear, “$50 says these two leave within the next 10 minutes to fuck.” Eun Woo chuckles, “Baby, 10 minutes? More like 5.” Jimin laughs as he glances over, freezing. Taehyung and Jungkook are looking at them intently.
“Oh my god! You two are in love!” Taehyung squeals. Jungkook looks between the two, confused. “So the bickering, the fighting...it was all sexual tension?” Jungkook asks.
“Pfft, Jungkookie, they’re not just having sex. That’s love in their eyes!” Taehyung claps his hands, applauding happily. Jungkook shrugs drinking the last of his drink, sadly looking into the glass.
Jimin finally finds his voice. “What?! What are you two even talking about we—no—love--”
“Love what? Is being in love with me so impossible?” Eun Woo asks, crossing his arms.
“You're the one who is a fucking old gramps set in his old traditional ways. Alphas with Omegas. Betas with Betas. What does it matter if I love you or not!” Jimin yells. “Why is this fucking music so loud!”
“Yeah, well maybe I don’t care about any of that shit anymore. Not since I met you!” Eun Woo screams in Jimin’s face. Jimin’s eyes widen. He leaps forward wrapping his arms around Eun Woo’s neck, kissing him. Eun Woo reciprocates the kiss. Taehyung cheers.
“Woo Hoo! Look Jungkookie, love won out again! Yay!” Taehyung happily claps. Jimin looks over at Taehyung, snorting. He turns to Eun Woo whispering in his ear. He nods back. They get up from the booth quickly, “Guys we’ll be back,” Jimin yells over to Taehyung who happily cheers again. Taehyung turns to look at Jungkook who is still looking at his empty glass, pouting.
“Why is my Jungkookie sad?”
“Bear, look my drink is gone. And your stupid cousin won’t get me anymore, cause he says I’m drunk,” Jungkook says, hiccupping. Taehyung pouts. “Stupid Yoongles, I can make you happy again Jungkookie,” Taehyung reaches over taking the glass out of Jungkook’s hand placing it on the table. He pushes Jungkook to sit back in the booth, slowly climbing on his lap, expertly swinging his leg over to straddle him in the booth. He wraps his arms around his neck pulling him close. He leans over and licks Jungkook’s bottom lip, as he slips his tongue in kissing him slowly. He bites on his bottom lip as he pulls back, Jungkook chasing his lips. Jungkook places his hands on his ass pushing him closer to him, having him grind down with the close movement. Taehyung puts his head on Jungkook’s shoulder and moans.
“TAEHYUNG!”
Taehyung jumps, startled. Jungkook growls, eyes red, holding on protectively to the small of Taehyung’s lower back.
“I leave you two alone for a couple of minutes and you decide to fuck each other in a booth?!” Yoongi groans, “And look, fuck face red eyes is back.”
Jin is bent over laughing.
“Amor, they’re just making out,” Daya says rolling her eyes.
“Really is that all they’re doing. I heard that fucking moan through the music Baby and I can’t even hear my own thoughts. What does that tell you?”
“It tells you, me and Jungkookie are going home,” Taehyung takes Jungkook by the hand, guiding him out of the booth. “Eun Woo and Jimin are in the bathroom. Jin and Namjoon were in the bathroom. I would like to go home and have my hot as fuck Alpha fuck me to the next century. Come on Jungkookie,”
“TAEHYUNG!” yells Yoongi. Jin and Daya are both bent over laughing, as Namjoon chuckles, slipping into the booth drinking his beer.
Daya regains her composure quickly walking over to Taehyung. “Tae, puedes llegar solo a la casa? Te pido un Uber?”
Taehyung nods, as Jungkook slips his arm around Taehyung’s waist leaning in, kissing his neck.
“Nos vemos mañana. Dile a este buzzkill que no se preocupé por mi, bye,” Taehyung says, throwing up a V sign at Yoongi. “Deuces, old man,” he says as he walks off with Jungkook, leaving Daya laughing hysterically and Yoongi mumbling.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung is standing in front of the full length mirror in their room, taking his earrings off. He stands staring back at his reflection. He hears the door to the bedroom open and sees Jungkook come up behind him through the mirror. He snakes his hand around placing it on Taehyung’s lower stomach. It sends a shiver through Taehyung’s body. Taehyung leans his head back on Jungkook’s shoulder as Jungkook starts to kiss and lick on Taehyung’s neck. He moves down to Taehyung’s scent gland sucking and nipping with his teeth as Taehyung lets out a moan. Jungkook looks through the mirror to see Taehyung, hooded eyes staring back.
“Beautiful,” he whispers in his ear. Taehyung watches in the mirror as Jungkook takes the bottom of his top and slowly takes it off. Taehyung’s first instinct is to cover himself. Especially like this in front of a mirror. He feels exposed. Jungkook holds down his arms.
“Don’t. Don’t cover yourself. I want you to do what I tell you Baby, and leave your arms down. Do not cover yourself.”
Taehyung nods, watching Jungkook run circles on his stomach up his chest, “So sexy...” Jungkook murmurs, sliding his hand on one of Taehyung’s nipples. He rolls it with his fingers until it hardens making Taehyung tremble in his arms. “Look at you Baby, eyes hooded, cheeks flushed, lips swollen. See how beautiful you are for me?” Jungkook continues to kneed his nipple firmly, eliciting a moan as Taehyung reaches one hand back to tangle it in Jungkook’s hair while the Alpha’s hands descend to his pants, slipping the button through and slowly sliding down the zipper.
Jungkook hooks his fingers into Taehyung’s belt loops and slowly pushes them down, smiling lustfully as he sees Taehyung’s cock spring free, fully erect.
“Baby, we are really going to have a talk about your love of no underwear.” He grinned, trailing his fingers up Taehyung’s inner thighs before moving back down again. Taehyung closed his eyes, moaning.
“Watch, Taehyung.” Jungkook commanded, “Do not close your eyes. I want you to see.”
Jungkook wastes no time taking his shirt and jeans off quickly. He watches as Taehyung gulps, pupils dilating at the sight of him. He smirks. “You like my body, Baby? Hmm?”
Taehyung nods. “What do you like about it? Tell me,” Jungkook asks, breathing close into Taehyung’s ear.
“Your tattoos. They are fucking sexy. Your muscles. How strong you are. How you can hold me down and make me yours,” Taehyung breaths out. Jungkook leans in close pressing himself up behind Taehyung, hard cock pressing between his Omega cheeks in promise of what was to come.
“Yeah? You like being manhandled Taehyung? Is that it?” Jungkook wraps a hand around the front of Taehyung neck, “Watch Baby,” he whispers into Taehyung ear. Taehyung’s gaze follows Jungkook’s hand as it travels up his thigh and gently wraps around his cock. Taehyung shudders.
“Jung--I...” He cuts himself off, biting down on his own lip, chewing harder as the hand on his cock tightened and began to move up and down. He couldn’t keep the cry in any longer as the hand started to move faster.
“Fuck Baby,” Jungkook panted, biting into Taehyung's shoulder as he stares at Taehyung’s erection. “Do you know... how gorgeous... you are...?”
Taehyung mewled, twisting in the torturous grip. “So much.” Jungkook growled, moving his other hand down to cup Taehyung’s balls, kneading and rolling. "Look at yourself Baby,” He ordered. “Look how fucking gorgeous you are. Hard...” Taehyung groaned, watching Jungkook’s hand move up and down on his cock. “So hard...” Jungkook continued hoarsely.
“You need to come don’t you?”
Taehyung reached back to dig his fingers into Jungkook’s side, the grip on his cock tightening in response. “You’re so beautiful when you need to come. Look... look at your eyes. So beautiful.”
“I do... I need... I need to Kook...”
“You need it so much...” Jungkook continued. “But not yet, because I need it too. I need it so much watching you like that.” He pushes his aching cock into Taehyung's back, causing both of them to shudder. “Can you feel me Baby? Do you want it?”
“Yes...”
Jungkook releases Taehyung's cock, moving both hands around to squeeze the Omega’s plump ass.
“Yes...” Taehyung breathed. “Yes... oh God yes...”
“Beg for it Baby.” He said, trailing his hands up and down Taehyung’s sides. “Beg for it. Beg for me to use your beautiful body.”
“Jungkook!... Please use me... please... I need...” He trailed off into a whimper. “Kook... fuck...”
“Good boy,” Jungkook praised, his fingers dropping back down to rub against Taehyung’s entrance, Taehyung bucking forward involuntarily before Jungkook pulled him back in, kneeling down and gripping Taehyung’s hips to hold him still.
“Watch yourself. Don’t look away. Don’t close your eyes.”
Suddenly a warm, wet tongue was inside Taehyung’s hole, twisting and turning and making him cry out in pleasure. He sobbed Jungkook’s name as his cheeks were spread and the tongue entered further, as far as it could go, lapping at the slick and the tight walls driving Taehyung almost to the edge. He obediently watched himself in the mirror; watched as his face twisted into an expression of pure agony and joy, his eyes almost black now, hips bucking wildly back into Jungkook’s face. He bit his lip, unable to stop the whimper that escaped as he watched himself reach the height of ecstasy.
“Kook... I can’t... I can’t... Kook...”
“Hold it Baby. You can hold it.” Jungkook ordered as stood up, positioning himself at Taehyung’s well-slicked hole. “Are you ready for me, beautiful?”
Taehyung had barely nodded when Jungkook started edging inside, both groaning as Taehyung’s tight hole clenched around Jungkook’s cock, tight, considering his lack of preparation. But past the slight pain it was just pure pleasure as Jungkook slid himself smoothly in, gasping as the tight walls tightened even further.
“Baby!” Jungkook growled, resting his forehead against his Omega’s back and taking in a shallow breath to calm himself. “Baby... fuck...”
Taehyung whimpered, loving the feeling of Jungkook filling him. “Kook,” he moaned, leaning forward slightly and gripping the top of the mirror, his knuckles turning white as Jungkook shifted slightly inside him. “Kook... I have to...”
“Hold it.” Jungkook said again, reaching down to rest his hands on Taehyung's thighs, “You can’t come yet. You have to watch. Watch yourself in the mirror while you come. See how beautiful you are when you come Baby.”
Taehyung nods reluctantly, fixing his gaze on himself as Jungkook slowly drew back and then thrust back in, both of them crying out in pleasure. Taehyung watching himself as Jungkook had instructed, watching as his eyes got darker and more hooded, his tongue reaching out to drag over his dry lips every few seconds, slicking them. He watched as his own face blushed in ecstasy, his teeth coming down to bite into his lower lip in an aborted attempt to not cry out too loudly.
“So beautiful...” Jungkook growled behind him, his mouth pressing to Taehyung’s back for a moment as he watched Taehyung. “You have no idea how beautiful you are to me. That first time I met you... you were like an angel. Do you remember?” Taehyung nodded, groaning loudly and unashamedly as Jungkook’s fingers dug into his hips. “So beautiful. We were so young. I’d never seen anyone so amazing. Fuck. And strawberries. It was all I could smell. I wanted to drown in the smell. In you.”
“Jungkook...” Taehyung gasped as Jungkook thrust into his prostate, Jungkook groaning at the shuddering tightness this elicited.
“You were so, so beautiful.” Jungkook continued. “I couldn’t keep my eyes off you. Your eyes, your lips... Jesus. I never thought...” He trailed off into a grunt as Taehyung tightened around him, the Omega crying out mutedly, gripping the top of the mirror a tiny bit harder. “I never ever thought I’d be able to do this... fuck you... make love to you. You were just... too much. Too beautiful.”
“Jungkook... oh god... I love...”
“So beautiful Baby.” Jungkook repeated, reaching one hand gripping at Taehyung’s neck, his other hand moving to the Omega’s cock stroking hard. “Watch yourself Baby. Watch yourself as you come.” Taehyung let out a low keening whimper, his fingers entangling back in Jungkook’s hair, gaze on the mirror. “Come for me Taehyung.”
“Jungkook!”
Taehyung’s cry was loud, almost a scream, wrenched out of him as his release came hard and all over Jungkook’s hand and the mirror. He stared into it as Jungkook instructed, until his eyes rolled back and he was unable to watch any more. The last thing he saw as he closed his eyes was Jungkook reaching his climax behind him; red eyes, wet lips, flushed cheeks.
“Tae...”
“Kook...” Taehyung’s voice was a little more than a whisper as his orgasm finally subsided, his body shaking with fatigue. He felt Jungkook’s trembling weight rest against his back as he gently slid out of him, turning around to gather Taehyung into his arms. Jungkook smiled gratefully and buried his face in Taehyung’s shoulder. They ended up on the bed, although neither of them knew how they’d managed it. Their bodies were still trembling slightly with exhaustion as they wrapped themselves in each other. Jungkook nuzzled into Taehyung’s neck before looking up.
“I can’t wait till you are finally a Jeon.”
Taehyung smiles. “Me too,” he says as he drifts off to sleep.
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung sits on the floor of his apartment laughing. “All you Alphas had no idea how to setup those fireworks. A bunch of grown adults arguing about who was going to get to light them,” In-na says shaking her head.
“Hyun Bin getting to ultimately light them because he was a month older than us,” Dong Wook shaking his head, laughing.”
It’s the night before Taehyung and Jungkook’s wedding day. They decided to each stay with their families. Jungkook going to stay with his parents at their hotel and Taehyung staying in their apartment, having his family come and stay with him.
In-na looks over at Taehyung and smiles. “They would be so proud of you sweetheart. You know that right? With how you’ve grown up. Become a doctor. Getting married.”
Taehyung nods. He gives her a small smile. When Jungkook proposed to Taehyung, he was both shocked and left speechless. But he was also happy. Happier than he had ever felt because he was finally going to spend the rest of his life with the love of his life, his soulmate.
A few weeks later, as the reality of wedding planning began to set in, it became painfully clear that the people who would be most excited about his engagement and would want to share in every detail of the big day would never be a part of the preparations.
While Taehyung obviously knew that they would miss a number of major milestones, including his wedding, he thought he had mentally prepared himself to embark on this next phase of life without them. Planning the wedding proved otherwise. Taehyung felt their absence most in the minutiae, the little things that make a wedding truly personal and no one else cares about (except he knows his mother would have too). Flower arrangements. Color scheme. China patterns.
As Taehyung and Jungkook finally worked together to plan their day, they made a concerted effort to find ways to include Taehyung’s parents without making any of them, or any of their guests, feel sad. Because of who his mom was and how she felt about him, Taehyung knew that she would have wanted their special day to be all about him and Jungkook, and not a memorial for them. So they worked hard to find subtle yet meaningful ways to integrate their memory into their day.
One those ways is making his parents presence his “something blue,” as their initials were sewn into the lining of his white suit in royal blue thread.
Amid his own pain, he sometimes forgot that others, his Uncle and Aunt, Yoongi, Jungkook’s parents, even Jungkook himself who knew them as a child, were also very aware of their absence. It was especially tough on his Uncle, who not only had to bury his little sister, but then take on the responsibility of raising her son. He realized he needed to communicate with his family and include them in the planning process. They are missing his parents too.
“Did they know? About me and Jungkook I mean. Could they see it?”
In-na and Dong Wook laugh, looking at each other. “Tae, we all knew, but your parents most especially. Ye-Jin, God my sister was such a hopeless romantic. Convinced that her and Hyun Bin were soulmates. A few days before your accident she was talking to me about you. About how excited you were to finally be able to find out if you were an Omega. She knew it wouldn’t matter what you were because it only came down to one thing. You were Jungkook’s.”
Taehyung gasps, “Really? She said that? How would she know that?”
“She said she saw the way you talked about Jungkook. The way you looked at him. The way he looked at you. “Wook, it’s the same way me and Hyun look at each other. They are each other’s one.” She had said.” Dong Wook shakes his head. Taehyung wipes at his eyes.
“Uncle Wook, Auntie In-na, I—I just wanted to say thank you. For everything—“
“Sweetheart, no, you don’t have to do that—“
“Please, just let me.”
Dong Wook look at In-na and nods, squeezing her hand.
“I know I haven’t been the easiest. And I’m not talking about all the mental health stuff, I’m talking about the anger and the resentment I felt at both of you for the betrayal I thought you did to me. I was so fucking angry at you. For moving me to Korea. For selling my house. For burying my parents in Korea. But…I understand it all now. I know you did it because you wanted to follow your little sister’s wishes. I know everything you did, you did because you thought it was best for me. And the truth is I don’t know what I would’ve done without both of you. You and Yoongi. I know you may not think so, but all of you held me together. Gave me a family when I had lost mine. And I know you’re not my parents, they could never be replaced, but…you guys are an undeniable close second.”
In-na let’s out a sob as she walks quickly over to Taehyung, Dong Wook following behind engulfing him in a tight group hug.
“I don’t think we have to say this, Sweetheart, but you are our son. Plain and simple. We love you so much Taehyung. We are so proud of the man you’ve become. And your parents,” she takes Taehyung’s face in her hands, “They will be there. Maybe not physically, but they’re here.” She points to Taehyung’s heart, as he tearfully nods.
“We have something for you,” Dong Wook looks to In-na who sniffles and nods. She walks over to a suitcase and pulls out a small jewelry box. She smiles, handing it to Taehyung. Taehyung looks down at it, curious. “Go ahead open it,” she motions, smiling at her husband.
Taehyung slowly opens the box to find a small gold bracelet. He picks it up, gently, looking at the two small rings, intertwined with each other. He looks at them closely...
“Are these...are these my parents wedding rings?”
In-na lets out another sob, “Yes,” she says, smiling between tears. “They were returned to us after the accident. We’ve been saving them.”
“For this moment. We were saving them for this moment,” Dong Wook says, walking over placing an arm around his wife’s waist.
“Sweetheart, you have your something blue, sewn in your suit. That’s your something old.” She walks over and motions for Taehyung to hand her the bracelet. She takes it carefully, waiting for him to hold his arm out. Taehyung rolls up his sleeve, allowing his Aunt to put on the bracelet. “There. They are exactly where they belong again.”
Taehyung looks down at it. Tears blurring his vision. “I don’t know what to say.” He looks up at his Aunt and Uncle. “You don’t have to say anything Tae. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Living. That’s all we can ask for.”
Taehyung nods, sniffling. “I actually do…have one thing I need to say. Or ask more like it.” He takes a deep breath. “I’m wondering if you both would like to walk me down the aisle. Both of you. On either side of me, supporting me and guiding me to Jungkook. Like you’ve been doing all these years.”
In-na puts her hands over her face, sobbing. Dong Wook laughs through his own tears. “I think you already know the answer Tae, judging by your Aunt’s reaction.”
Taehyung smiles, looking down at his bracelet. They are interrupted by Taehyung’s phone ringing.
“Hi Jungkookie,” Taehyung steps into their bedroom closing the door behind him.
“Hi Bear. What are you all up to?”
Taehyung smiles, looking down at his bracelet again. “Nothing, just a bunch of cheesy emotion stuff...you?”
“Pfft, same. My Eomma won’t stop crying, in between insulting me on how I could’ve been such an idiot and waited so long to do this with you.”
Taehyung chuckles, “I mean she’s not wrong.”
“Baby, it’s getting late and I just wanted to say goodnight and make sure you’re going to sleep soon. I want you to be well rested for when you finally become Jeon Taehyung. It’s a big moment for you.”
Taehyung snorts, “Right? Only for me, huh?”
“No Baby, not only for you. For us both. I really can’t wait for tomorrow Tae.”
‘Me too Jungkookie.”
“Have a good night Baby and I’ll see you tomorrow. I love you Bear.”
“I love you too Jungkookie. Goodnight.”
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
Taehyung is standing in the private room of the bridal suite of the hotel getting dressed. He looks into the mirror and remembers...
It will get worse before it feels like it’s getting better. But it will get better. There will come a day when you will look at yourself in the mirror and absolutely love the person that is staring back. We just have to have you fall back in love with yourself.”
“Well, Dr. Hollywood. I’m there. Today I feel it,” Taehyung says smiling into the mirror. He can’t wait to talk to him later and let him know. He’s glad he was able to get himself and those negative toxic voices in check, because looking at himself in the mirror, he can honestly admit he looks good. He hears a knock at the door and turns, “Sweetheart, you ready to come out?” Taehyung looks back at the mirror and smiles. “Yeah, Auntie, I’ll be right out!”
He exits the room, eyes locking on his Aunt who starts to sob again. Dong Wook shaking his head. “Honey, how are you going to actually see the wedding if all you have been doing is crying all morning,” he says laughing.
“Tae, you...Jungkook isn’t going to know what hit him,” Daya says, eyes watering.
“Thank you. Um...where’s Yoongi?” Taehyung takes a sip of his champagne trying to calm his nerves.
“He said he was going to check on Jungkook. He’ll be right back.”
Taehyung nods. He takes a deep breath and walks over to the window looking over the city he adores so much. He’s marrying his most favorite person in the world in his most favorite city in the world.
“Tae, we’re going to head down. It’s almost time,” Dong Wook motions to In-na that they should start heading out. She nods. “We’ll see you downstairs Sweetheart. We love you.”
Taehyung smiles, “Ok, I’ll see all of you in a bit.” He watches as his Aunt and Uncle leave the room. He puts the champagne glass down, not wanting to drink anything more. The last thing he wants is to be drunk for his own wedding. He rubs his hands together. He’s nervous, but a good nervous. It’s more happy nerves. Wondering what his gorgeous Alpha looks like. Happy to see everyone he loves be there for them today. This is the kind of butterflies in his stomach that he welcomes.
“Tae, Yoongi wants to me to come down to check on something. I’ll see you in a bit,” Daya says walking, hurriedly towards the door.
Taehyung frowns. Is everything ok?”
“Perfect. Don’t you worry your pretty little head over anything today. Your job is to sit and enjoy it. See you in a bit,” Daya says, disappearing out the door. Taehyung sighs. He’s trying not to sit down yet afraid he might wrinkle his suit so he stands in the middle of the room, waiting, scrolling through his phone. He sees that Jungkook sent him a picture. It’s of the two of them. A selfie Jungkook took of them when they were younger. Taehyung giggles. “We looked like babies.”
“We were.”
Taehyung freezes. He turns slowly. There stands Jungkook. Taehyung doesn’t think there is anybody on this planet who is more handsome than Jungkook. He looks gorgeous. Radiant. And...here. What fuck is he doing here?
“Kook! What the fuck are you doing here?” Taehyung doesn’t know if he should run and hide or just fall into his arms.
“Baby, you look. Holy shit. Like an Angel. Like a literal Angel.” Taehyung through all this confusion, can’t help but smile. “So are you going to just stand there or are you going to come over here so I can kiss you.” Taehyung laughs, skipping over to Jungkook who lifts him up and twirls him, kissing him, as he sets him gently down.
“Is this even allowed? Isn’t this bad luck or something?”
“I’m allowing it and honestly Bear with all the shit we’ve been through how much worse could it get.” Taehyung laughs.
“Ok, you’re right, but we have to get married in like 15 minutes. What are you doing?”
“I need to ask you to do something for me. And just say Yes. What do you say, for the last time, KIM Taehyung,” Jungkook holds out his arm for Taehyung to link, “will you come with me?”
Taehyung smiles, immediately linking his arm with his beautiful fiancé's, “Yes.”
🍓🌊🍓🌊🍓🌊
“Jungkook? What are we doing at Castle Island?” Taehyung looks around, curiously. They are supposed to be at the wedding venue. Right now, Taehyung should be getting ready to walk down the aisle. To say their vows. Instead, here he is in an Uber with Jungkook. Destination? Castle Island?
“You’ll see Bear, come on,” Jungkook smiles. He guides Taehyung to the water front. Taehyung squints, “Wait, is that Yoongi...and Daya?” Taehyung spots Yoongi and Daya standing together. Daya waving her hands, excitedly, once she spots Taehyung. “Kook? I don’t understand?”
“Just trust me ok?”
Taehyung nods.
“Hey Cuz,” Yoongi says, standing handsome in his suit. “Kook, if we’re going to do this we need to be quick. My parents are going to kill all of us. There’s only so much Jin and the rest of them can do to delay everything.”
“Delay our wedding? Why? What are we doing here?” Taehyung looks between Yoongi then Daya, gaze finally falling on Jungkook. He can't miss the way Jungkook is looking at him. Love.
“We’re getting married Bear,” He takes Taehyung by both hands and pulls him closer. “We’re getting married...right now.”
Taehyung blinks. Confused. “What?”
“I became a wedding officiant,” Yoongi says, puffing out his chest proudly. I got my ordination online. I’m going to get you guys married.”
Taehyung bursts out laughing. Yoongi frowns. “Told ya he’d think it’s a joke.”
Taehyung’s eyebrows furrow, “Isn’t it?”
Jungkook turns to Taehyung squeezing his hands, “No Baby, its not. I know we planned this big beautiful wedding, but the more I thought about, the more I realized we were missing something.”
Taehyung tilts his head, silent. “Your parents. I know they’re here,” he points to Taehyung’s heart, “but the place they are most in. One of the places that represents them the most for you is here. Castle Island, Pleasure Bay. So we are getting married at the venue we chose, in front of all our family and friends, albeit very late, but before that we’re getting married here. Now. In front of your parents.”
Taehyung swallows back tears. “Why are you so perfect?” Jungkook wipes away a stray tear. “Not as perfect as you. So...will you marry me? Right now? Here?”
Taehyung sniffles, “Yes!! Let’s do it!”
“Yes, lets. Your parents just text me Amor...they’re pissed.”
“Ok, well I’m dead. Fantastic . Let’s get this started then shall we.” Yoongi stands in front of Jungkook and Taehyung who stand holding each other’s hands, staring into each other’s eyes.
“So I’ve never done this before so, vows?”
Jungkook chuckles, “I’ll go first. Taehyung, I vow to be your biggest fan and partner in crime. I promise to support a family with you in a home filled with patience, love and understanding. I vow to grow old with you. I will love you faithfully and unconditionally through difficult and easy times. What may come, I promise to always be there with love. As I have given my life to you.” Taehyung holds back a sob, taking in a breath. He watches Yoongi reach into his pocket and pull out a plastic Princess Leia ring. He laughs, watching Jungkook put it on his finger. Jungkook bends down kissing his hand.
“Taehyung, you’re next Cuz.”
Taehyung chuckles. He looks around him. He sees the beach. He can envision his parents walking along it. Screaming their New Year’s resolutions into the choppy winter ocean. He can see them eating hot dogs on the beach. Talking about what they would do In Korea that summer. Taehyung closes his eyes and inhales. That smell that not only represents this place, but his home. His Love. Jungkook. He opens his eyes, staring into his Alpha’s eyes as the ocean breeze plays with his hair.
“Jungkook, In your eyes, I have found my home. In your heart, I have found my love. In your soul, I have found my mate. With you, I am whole, full, alive. You make me laugh. You let me cry. You are my breath, my every heartbeat. I love you.”
Jungkook lets out the tears he’s been holding back, as he reaches up caressing Taehyung’s cheek. Yoongi takes out another plastic ring, handing it to Taehyung. Taehyung bends over laughing. It’s Luke. “You guys do know Luke and Leia are brother and sister, right?” Yoongi scoffs, “Seriously? Just go with it.”
Jungkook bursts out laughing, while Taehyung places the ring on his finger. He looks up smiling, wide boxy smile on display.
“Now with the power vested in me and the state of Massachusetts. You are now husband and husband, Alpha and Omega.” Taehyung squeals, while Jungkook pulls him close.
“Go on kiss already. Make it official,” Yoongi says, smiling, gummy smile proudly looking on.
Jungkook leans and kisses Taehyung softly, gently. “Hi, Jeon Taehyung.”
Taehyung smiles, “Hi.”

“KIM TAEHYUNG WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING ON ALL OF YOU?! AND WHY ARE THE HEM OF YOUR PANTS FULL OF SAND?!” In-na screams scrambling to pull Taehyung towards the place he is supposed to stand to finally walk down the aisle. He glances down at his pants. Full of sand. He giggles.
“I’m sorry! But we’re here. We’re ready.”
“In-na, they’re here now. Taehyung is right,” his Uncle says, winking, handing him his wedding bouquet. Taehyung looks down and sees them. His parents. He had the florist tie a picture of his parents on the day of their wedding to his wedding bouquet. His Uncle and Aunt stand on either side of him linking their arms to him as the wedding music begins indicating his start down the aisle. He slowly starts to walk, locking a gaze with his Alpha, his husband. Jungkook winks at him, knowingly. Taehyung smiles. He’s ready to become Jeon Taehyung. Again.

“Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome us in introducing for the first time! Jeon Jungkook and Jeon Taehyung!” Taehyung and Jungkook walk out, to cheers, screams, and claps, with Jungkook carrying Taehyung bridal style, both laughing happily.
“We’re going to start off the party with the first dance. The grooms want everyone to know this holds a very special meaning for them and especially for Taehyung’s mother. They were her favorite band.”
Jungkook gently puts down Taehyung and takes his hand pulling him close. He places his hand on the small of his back as the music starts.
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
“At this time, the grooms request that everyone join them on the dance floor...”
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
Taehyung looks at his hand. Engagement ring and wedding ring glistening on his finger. Jungkook leans into his ear. “I think I like our plastic ones better.”
Taehyung rolls his eyes, snorting, “Brother and Sister, Kook.”
Jungkook shakes his head. “I really need to sit down and watch these movies and give proper attention to them.”
“Well we have a lifetime to do that.” Taehyung says smiling while Jungkook twirls him on the dance floor.
“That we do, Mr. Jeon.”

“Dr. Park?” Taehyung says.
“Taehyung!” Dr. Park gets up from his seat at the table, giving Taehyung a big hug. “Taehyung this is my wife, Min-young,” he motions to a pretty petite brunette, who cheerfully gets up bowing and shaking Taehyung’s hand.
“I’ve heard so much about you Taehyung. Seo-joon told me how much you love the painting that I put in his office,” she smiles, genuinely. Dr. Park chuckles, looking at Taehyung, winking at him.
“Oh, yeah it’s great! The duck. I really love that duck. So happy. So serene.”
Min-young turns to her husband, smiling smugly, “See I told you your patients would appreciate it!”
Taehyung giggles. “Um Dr. Park I just wanted to thank you for flying all the way over for our wedding. “And... just thank you in general, you know for what. And I wanted to let you know that I’m not minding the mirror so much these days. You were right... I think I’m loving myself a lot more too.”
Min-Young reaches over and squeezes her husband’s hand. Dr. Park gulps back tears, clearing his throat. “No need to thank me Taehyung. That was all you. Just remember it’s a lifelong process. No getting complacent,” he looks over at Jungkook who is on the dance floor laughing and being silly with Jimin and Hobi, “Support each other, help each other... that’s all you need and you’ll be fine.”
“And love,” Min-young says, cuddling up to her husband’s side. “Love each other like everyday it’s the first day.” Dr. Park leans down kissing his wife, sweetly.
Taehyung looks up at Jungkook who catches his gaze and waves. “I don’t think we’ll have any problem there.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, at this time we have something very special prepared by both grooms for each other. First up, we have Jungkook, who has prepared some words for his new husband. Jungkook.”
Jungkook places a chair in front of the stage. He walks over to Taehyung taking his hand guiding him to sit in the chair.
“Bear, when I thought about what I wanted to write to you, to say to you, the idea overwhelmed me. How do I even begin to put into words what you mean to me? What your presence in my life, in this world, has done. I’m a photographer. My means to emote has always been the camera, my lens, but today I knew I wanted to try something different. I am trying out my hand at poetry Baby, so if it sucks everyone, I’m sorry. Be gentle with your comments, it’s my first time...I’m talking to you Yoongs!”
Yoongi raises his glass, laughing.
“I hope you don’t mind I talk about this Baby, because everyone who is here we trust, we love, and I think know in one way or another the struggles you’ve had to go through.”
Taehyung nods, smiling, reassuring, encouraging Jungkook to continue.
“A few years ago, someone very close to Taehyung committed suicide. He was his best friend, his support, and a beautiful person in so many ways.” Taehyung bites his lip, holding back tears.
“The truth is that there were times Taehyung often felt like the world would be a better place without him too. There are many days that he makes himself go through the motions of appearing “normal” because he's afraid that he would be locked up forever in a rubber room if anyone knew the level of self-hatred that engulfs his brain. I can’t imagine Baby, the hopelessness, the aloneness, the feeling of “I could never be enough,” the fear that admitting these feelings to anyone would horrify them or, worse, make them act differently around you in a clumsy attempt to pity something they just don’t understand.”
“What I’ve learned is you don’t want our pity, fear, or accusations. All you need, all you want is for us to just accept that you are fighting a battle that you don’t quite understand and I am for the rest of my life willing to support and be along for that battle. I want you to know Bear, I need you to know that the world is a better place because of you. Your contributions, no matter the size, make a difference. Please don’t ever lose sight of that, no matter how much your brain tries to persuade you to the contrary.”
“I wrote this for you, Baby...”
You are not the bad feeling you get in your head
You are not the storm you walk through
You are the person experiencing the storm
The storm may knock you off your feet
But you will stand once again
Either the weather will change
Or you will find shelter
Hold on
Soak up the views
Take in the bad weather and the good weather
You are not the storm.
Taehyung releases a sob, putting his head in his hands. The whole room is in tears. Jungkook walks quickly over to his husband, slowly removing his hands, cupping his face. “I want you to always remember Bear, You are not the storm.” He wipes Taehyung’s tears and embraces him, tightly.
“Shit! How am I supposed to follow that!” Jungkook bursts out laughing, through his own tears.
“Well, its not a competition Baby...but if it was, I’d be winning,” he says laughing. Taehyung playfully swats his shoulder. Taehyung looks over his shoulder as he sees Yoongi get up and make his way over to the piano that has been setup on the stage.
‘It’s now or never,’ thinks Taehyung. “Kook, can you sit in the chair now?” he whispers to Jungkook. Jungkook nods, “Sure Baby.” Taehyung gets up, letting Jungkook now take the seat. Taehyung walks up to the front of the stage as their DJ finishes setting up the microphone for him. Taehyung taps the mic to make sure it’s on and takes a deep breath.
“Um so I guess we’re both trying something new today, so I hope you like this Jungkookie. Yoongi and I worked on it for the last couple of months.” He turns looking at his cousin who nods, encouragingly.
“Most of you who knew my mom know that she would tell anyone and everyone who would listen the great love story of her and my dad. How she found her one. Her person. For as as long as I can remember, actually since I met you Jungkookie, I knew I had found mine. And although we lost each other for a bit, just like my parents did, we fought our way back to each other. You were right Jungkookie, we were meant to be in this Universe and every single other one. In this lifetime and the next. It’s always been you.”
Taehyung turns around and looks at Yoongi. Yoongi mouths “Are you ready?” Taehyung nods. Taehyung turns and looks at Jungkook. Yoongi starts playing the piano and Taehyung starts to sing…
🎵 Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer 🎶
Jungkook hears the lyrics and it’s like a flood of memories hit him as he hears the love of his life singing his emotions to him.
Jungkook doesn’t let himself think or second guess himself. He leans in and places his hand on Taehyung’s nape pulling him closer as he places his lips on Taehyung’s. He’s expecting Taehyung to push back or maybe even slap him, but instead Taehyung leans further into the kiss. The kiss; small, gentle, soft. Everything they both could have hoped for from a first kiss.
🎵 I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more 🎶
I just think your face was made for my camera…” he looks at Taehyung tracing every one of his facial features, “My muse.”
“Your muse? Me?”
“Yeah, why not? You were the one who ultimately got me to even try this thing out. Do you know how long I’ve had this in the box? It’s only fair that you become my photographical inspiration.
🎵 Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath, every hour has come to this
One step closer 🎶
Jungkook chuckles as he gently pushes Taehyung’s curls to one side to better look at his eyes. “You have a mole right here,” as he points to Taehyung’s eye. “And here, and here. But this one might be my favorite,” He boops Taehyung on the tip of his nose right where his mole is.”
🎵 I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more 🎶
He puts his arms around Taehyung’s waist pulling him closer as Taehyung let’s out a small gasp. He leans in close to whisper in Taehyung’s ear, “Smile, Tae.” Taehyung turns toward Jungkook and looks into his eyes both not turning to look at the camera but looking deep in each other’s eyes. Smiling at each other. In that moment, as the shutter releases, the rest of the world disappears.
🎵 And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
One step closer
One step closer 🎶
Memories continue to flood Jungkook’s mind as he releases sob after sob…
“Open the door, Bear.” Taehyung frowns, as he opens the door. “Jungkook?” Jungkook is done wasting time anymore. He’s done holding back. He’s in love with Taehyung and has been since they met. He’s sure of that...and Taehyung loves him too. He doesn’t want to let life pass them by anymore. If he’s learned anything is that life is too short. He needs to start living in the moment.
🎵 I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more 🎶
Jungkook reaches for Taehyung’s hand. “Bear, you are my one, my person. The one I want to spend the rest of my life with. So…Kim Taehyung, will you marry me?”
🎵 And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more 🎶
Jungkook gets up, quickly making his way over to his beautiful husband. He pulls him close to his chest, looking deep into his eyes. “Always and Forever,” he says, tears streaming down his face, putting his lips on Taehyung’s kissing him as one more memory floods his mind…
“It’s ok he can call me that,” Taehyung said making the doe eyed boy smile brightly.
“See Yoongi he said it’s ok cause it’s me and because we are going to be best friends. Right?” Jungkook asked as he looked at Taehyung, hopeful.
“Best friends?” Taehyung smiled a huge boxy smile.
“Yup, so only I can call you that, ok?”
“Ok,” Taehyung said feeling a warmth overtake his chest.
Taehyung pulls back, eyes blue, staring back into red crimson eyes. Staring deep into the eyes of his Alpha, his husband, his soulmate, his one…his person.
