TRUE TO THEIR WORD, THE TWO REALLY DID INTRODUCE HER TO MORE SECLUDED PLACES. Now Ayano has even more places where she could truly hide if she ever were to get annoyed by these two. Truthfully she was already beginning to get a little used to their odd antics. They were almost like a ray of sunshine that broke through her once boring school day so far. Now that she thought about it, her family always seemed to have a routine. Ayano loves them, don't get her wrong.
Her father was always fidgety and anxious, never once has she seen that man relax in her entire life. Despite that, he still showered her and her brother with endless love and affection. He would buy them gifts that they never asked for or needed in the first place. Like really, did her dad have to buy them an almost thousand dollar video game system for them to use? Granted, they did use it but still she would rather her dad would just…relax? Something along those lines.
Now with her mother it was a bit more complicated. She did care for them in her strange ways but Ayano never once cared whenever her mother would try to give them some kind of lesson. Her brother was the one who stuck more to their mother’s every word. Ayano on the other hand would rather play outside with that redhead neighbor boy she grew close to. However, when he moved she would still find enjoyment outside than listening to whatever her mother was trying to teach her.
Hmm now that she thought about it, Ayano knew there was something strange about her mother but she wasn’t exactly normal herself. It is very hard for her to express feelings but that didn’t mean she was completely empty and emotionless. There were times when she was younger that she would find herself enjoying herself with either her family or her childhood friend or even that stray cat she would often play with after walking home from school. Even now, she found herself relaxed with her other group of friends-they always included Ayano in everything. She really missed them.
Perhaps she can find herself more at peace when she makes her brother take her to that cafe. Remembering their deal makes her more ‘optimistic’ to complete the two weeks here even if she did have to sacrifice her two weeks of summer freedom. However, if she does get caught, Ayato will be taking the blame. Ayano is not going to suffer the silent wrath of their mother.
“Hey weirdo! Were you listening to us?” The rather loud familiar voice of Osano brought her back harshly to the real world. Ryousuke stands close to the orange head while laughing awkwardly.
Ayano bobbed her head and looked at Osano apathetically, lying. She has no clue whatever they were speaking about but it was not like they would know that. Right?
“Oh yeah?” Osano crosses his arms and smugly looks at Ayano. “We were asking you which club you were planning to join. After all, we told you the list of the clubs here and what each one does.” Osano leans a bit forward, his taller self peered right into her eyes.
Ayano was not backing down one bit so she played the safe option and shrugged her shoulders. It’s best to play indecisive now and then when she has time, she could see which club would best suit her brother. Ah, what if she picked the club that required the most social interaction?! Even more payback.
“Huh,” Osano stands up straight and shrugs the weird thought that suddenly came to his mind. “Whatever but just know that you do need to join a club by the end of week. Every student is required to join one.” Every student? Now that sounds absurd! How does a private school that is very rich have their students required to join clubs sounds like something that would come out of a book. Stupid rules.
“Me and Osano are both in the cooking club. It's really nice you can definitely join us!” Ryousuke pipes in with his signature smile. “The leader Amao-senpai is really kind and since he is a professional chef, he is helping Osano make better sweets so his crush can accept him.”
“Ryousuke!”
Cooking Club, hmm. Ayano does have to admit that she is average with cooking. Her family had told her she has skills but that was her family. They were not picky with anything so they almost would eat anything. Now in the baking department, Ayano will admit she is awful. It appears that whenever she attempted to help her mother bake any sweet, there was always an incident where she had messed up. So she had been banned by her mother with that ever so present smile she always carries. It’s rather funny because her brother is the one who can bake anything but his cooking is terrible.
If she did join the club then someone will surely notice the sudden switch when they see that ‘Ayato’ is an amazing baker. Perhaps it was best to view other options now.
“Ryousuke-senpai!” A very cheery voice calls out to the pale blonde male. To which this elicited a cringe and small sigh to emit from said boy.
“Budo-san we are in the same year, there is no need for formality.” Ryousuke said while he appeared tense which confused Ayano. Ever since meeting him, the other was carefree almost like Toriyasu Akito except more expressive so did this ‘Budo’ bring something out of him?
“Oh? Who is this?” Budo questions as he looks at Ayano who looks at him uninterested. Budo has messy dark hair with his eyes matching his hair color. Around his head he wears a white headband and a red armband.
“Piss off martial arts boy.” Osano answers coldly. He sneers at him which earns him a warning look from Ryousuke. To which makes the orange head scoff and turn his head to look away from them.
“This is just our new classmate, Ayato,” Ryousuke introduces Ayano who gives a small wave. She stares straight into Budo’s eyes, almost enjoying the squeamish expression he gives in response. “Ayato, this is Budo-san, the Martial Arts leader.”
“Nice to meet you Ayato! I hope you are enjoying Akademi High so far!” Budo recovers and almost sounds like he is shouting. Does he realize how loud he was? However, being her polite self she nods a tiny bit, never explaining more. A small silence hangs in the air and no one was speaking until Budo broke the awkwardness. “Ryousuke-senpai can you please give one last-”
That was all it took for Osano to grab Ayano and Ryousuke by their arms [in Ayano’s case it was her hand] and drag them into the school, taking various twists and turns until they made it to the third floor. He let go of Ryousuke, never realizing that he was still holding onto Ayano. “He is so annoying! Just because he beat you once and now he wants to make it his life goal to bug you! I know you were holding back!” Osano begins his ranting not noticing that he was swinging his shared hand around.
“Osano-”
“No! You left that club and now it feels like he is going to come to you every time.”
“Osano-” Ryousuke is once more cut off.
“He is definitely trying to know your secrets, I just have a feeling!”
“Osano!”
“What?!” Osano raises his tone, allowing Ryousuke to finally speak.
“I know you are very passionate but you haven’t let go of Ayato-” Ryousuke and Osano both look at the hands that were clasped together. Then they looked upwards to the owner of the pale hand. It seems in Osano’s fiery speech, he moved around constantly which caused Ayano to look a little queasy.
“Ah!” Osano shrieks in embarrassment and quickly lets go of Ayano’s hand. He backs away from the two. The way he was reacting felt like he had dipped his hand into boiling water. “Why didn’t you say anything weirdo!” He glares at Ayano who is trying to stand up straight.
“Well you were distracted…” Ryousuke defends her. Ayano would have said something if she had been able to get one word in!
“Meaning you were too busy ranting,” Ayano answers vacantly and ignores the reactions as she walks into the third floor bathroom. From the distance she can hear Ryousuke chuckling and Osano was threatening him to be quiet in a high pitched tone. Well it wasn’t high pitched, she was only exaggerating.
She didn’t need to use the restroom, thankfully, but she did need to fix herself a bit for she may have overheard that there would be extracurricular activities. Ayano did not need anyone to find out who she was. As she looks in the mirror in the boys’ restroom and distresses the wig a little, someone enters and makes their way to wash their hands. Ayano tries not to look at the person, just wishing to keep to herself. But, he says something that makes her pause.
“So when did the school start allowing girls to join?”
