Chapter Text
Thing scuttled across the floor, dragging a bag behind him with Wednesday’s freshly cleaned clothes. He had really outdone himself this time, not a murky stain to be spotted on the dark garments the goth typically wore.
By the time Thing tip-fingered into the dorm through his usual means, the vent, he noted the two contrasting individuals still curled up in bed.
He was far from surprised. They had both had one hell of a week and sleep was the minimum of what they needed, knowing Wednesday she would rise from her slumber soon anyway as the sun was rising, the beams of golden wonder casting its gaze on the very bottom of the half faux stained glass window.
Thing silently put everything away before hopping over to Enid’s bed and hunkering down, it wasn’t as comfortable as his usual spot on the pillow next to Wednesday but it did allow him to avoid running the risk of waking either of the girls in an attempt to get to said pillow.
The sun managed to rise high in the sky before there was any movement in the shared dorm, the first sign of life being caused by a soft knock at the door.
Thing trotted over and hopped up to the desk next to the door handle, first unlocking the heavy door then wrapping his being around the handle, opening the door slowly before thumping back down to the floor.
If he didn’t already know who was at the door he would have checked through the keyhole but he knew how everyone walked, the tiniest details such as how Enid had a bounce in her step that causes a heavier landing of each foot, how Wednesday is nearly silent but still makes sure to scuff the back of her boot just enough for Thing to tell, how Bianca is steady and purposeful. How Yoko drags her feet and consistently ruins the soles of her shoes quickly or how Yoko's clumsy footsteps are often in sequence with her girlfriend's whos steps are much like Bianca's but slightly laxer.
Thing stepped around the door and was greeted by the statuesque woman that was Larissa Weems, “Oh, hello Thing!” She greeted quietly, immediately catching on that if he was the one to answer then the others were most likely unavailable in some way,
“I am to assume that the girls are asleep still?”
‘They are, dying surely took it out of Wednesday and Enid has been worried enough to surely not get a proper night's sleep in awhile’ Thing signed carefully.
“Ah, of course. That was in fact why I came up here, to ask Miss Adams about the entire ‘dying’ event”
‘Of course, I shall alert them when they wake-‘
“No need.” An extremely raspy voice stated.
The door was instantly pulled open to reveal Wednesday Addams, quite possibly the most uncomfortable she had ever looked, which was a challenging feat to accomplish if you counted the time Pugsley filled her shower head with extra fine pink glitter.
The younger Wednesday had continued to find specs of the diabolical colour dotted quite literally everywhere from months, to years later.
“Wednesday you seem… well I’m not quite sure how to put it to be quite honest.” Weems winced as Wednesday leaned on one leg, the bones within protesting with cracks.
“I shall admit it is not the most ideal outcome as I feel how I presumably look.”
“Perhaps you should take a rest day? You surely need it.”
“Gladly, however, with the way things have been going I’m sure the ‘rest’ will not last long,” Wednesday said was a grimace.
“Would you still be willing to recap me on last night's events at a later time?”
“Divina is your best bet for an account on before they reached me in the woods, I can then fill in my own experience along with what occurred while I was alone.”
“That would be terrific, now please. Go rest, go back to bed.”
Wednesday nodded, appreciating the concern obviously slowed by Larissa.
The goth turned slowly and moved back to bed with seemingly a lot of protest from her body, each joint cracking at one point or another that blended horrifically into the creaking of the floorboards due to the raven's unusually heavy footsteps.
By the time the goth had reached her bed and the sleeping Lycan within it, Thing had closed and locked the door to the dorm, once again closing them off from the annoyances that were outside.
Wednesday shuffled back under the covers, Enid unconsciously finding her waist and pulling just a bit too harshly, forcing a wince from the goth.
Enid woke within an instant, turning her bright blue eyes upon her girlfriend and soon realising her mistake.
“Shit, I’m sorry wends, I didn’t mean to-“
Wednesday cut the blonde off before she could fall into an endless pit of apologies, “It’s completely fine love, you were asleep.”
“Jesus, you sound terrible.”
Wednesday winced out a laugh that felt like sandpaper in her throat, “I appreciate the kind words.”
Enid rolled her eyes, this time more carefully pulling the goth towards her, “ go back to sleep.”
The blonde waited for Wednesday’s telltale signs of her falling asleep before carefully reaching over to the nightstand to grab her phone, the time showing 10:42 am.
Enid manoeuvred through her phone to her unanswered messages from the group. Thankfully it seemed that Bianca and Divina had filled in the boys with what had happened in the group chat so there wouldn’t be any questions. She scrolled through the chat a bit, catching glimpses of full-caps messages that made her chuckle.
After going through the groupchat Enid answered the few messages from Bianca and checked her chat from Yoko, finding multiple rambling questions asking about her wellbeing. The blonde answered them in order, making sure to mention that she had been asleep.
A new message popped up at the top of her screen, an unknown number. The message was simple, “Give Wednesday my greetings.”
Enid sucked in a breath, startling the goth awake, “Enid?” Wednesday whispered out, barely awake.
“I- There was- I can’t.” Enid tried, unable to piece together a coherent sentence to tell Wednesday exactly what the problem was.
That was until Wednesday moved her body to a sitting position and looked at Enid, cupping her face between two hands, “Take a deep breath.” Enid did as she was told, taking in a shaky breath and exhaled through her nose, “And another,” Wednesday prompted, Enid following what she was being instructed to do.
“Good, can you tell me what happened?” Wednesday said with concern, she had right to be concerned with everything that had happened within the school grounds, at this point she had prepared herself to wake up to the news that someone had been kidnapped or worse, killed.
Enid took a second, closing her eyes as she took another steady breath in an exhaled as she opened her eyes, “I got a message from an unknown number. It’s easier if I show you.”
Enid moved to the message, holding it up for the goth to see the screen.
“If I touch this and get a vision i’m going to be beyond pissed.” Wednedsay said as she reached for the phone.
As if god had wanted to play a cruel joke on the young Addams as the tip of her index finger touched the smooth material of Enids phone case her head shot back, spine cracking multiple times as her back went ridged and uncomfortably straight.
Enid quickly made sure she didn’t hit her head as her girlfriends body assaulted itself, “Shit-” The blonde quickly whispered as she motioned to Thing to come help.
Wednesday looked around, she was in a small dimly lit room, the walls seemingly made from wood and metal, a strange combination if you were to ask her.
“You’re kidding me,” the goth seethed as she realised what had happened, She looked around, thankfully noticing a door which she moved to reach for, only for it to swing harshly in her direction, two well dressed men talking with agitation.
“What the fuck do you mean you can’t do it?” One said, turning his eyes onto the other, “It’s that werewolf, we can’t get close enough sir.”
There was an obvious power dynamic, evidently a boss and a humble goon.
“Then shoot the damn werewolf too! I don’t care!”
“We tried but anyone who raised their gun…” The goon trailed off, sending the boss into a seething anger, “WHAT? SPIT IT OUT MAN!”
“They disappeared sir, and we lost sight of the target.”
“You lost sight of ADDAMS?”
The goon shrunk,”We lost sight of her moments after the surprise attack on the school…” Wednesday watched intently, they were talking about her, that must mean the unnamed werewolf must have been Enid. She needed to figure out where she was in this vision.
“Get out of my sight! Come back to me when you actually have a half-decent update on quite literally anything!”
“Y-yes sir.” The goon quickly turned, heading towards the door. Wednesday trailed him until a sentence left the boss’ mouth.
“Galpin! You’re needed.”
Wednesday froze, turning on the spot and not even noticing as the door closed behind her, just for her to be thrust out of her vision at the most crucial part.
With a gasp the young Addams shot forward, instantly regretting it as she hissed at the pain in her body, Enid was there in a second, one hand cautiously on the raven's back and the other hovering gently over her thigh as the blonde’s blue eyes met Wednesday dark ones, “What happened?” Enid rushed to ask.
“We need to get the others, now. And talk to Weems.”
Wednesday shot up out of bed, almost doubling over in pain as she did so too fast.
“Wends, you’re putting too much strain on your body, you need to calm down.” Enid tried.
“I will calm down when all of this is over, right now it might be life or death.” the goth said hurriedly as she got ready at a rushed pace, pain written over her face as she did so.
“Life or death..? What the hell did you see?” Enid muttered as she followed suit, getting ready as quickly as she could.
“Thing, text the others to meet at Weems’ office, tell them no one goes alone!”
Enid watched perplexed as she witnessed Wednesday gather the entirety of her knife collection, inspecting each and flicking them into the void, she eventually lost count after 20 and she was sure Wednesday was already carrying multiple.
It took them all of 7 minutes to stick their boots on and finally be ready to get out of the door, Enid went to grab the doorknob but Wednesday stopped her, pulling her away from the door as Thing crawled up the goths leg to her shoulder, “I need you to trust me.”
Enid blinked, not once had she ever distrusted her girlfriend. “I always trust you.”
“Good, this is going to feel strange, try not to look around.”
Before Enid could question anything she felt like she was falling in almost every direction other than the way gravity should go all while feeling like she was in a dark tube, she fought against her instincts to look around the dark space and instead kept her eyes forward onto what looked like the corner of Weems’ office, where everyone stood worriedly, they must have sprinted to get to Weem’s office in that time Enid thought as Wednesday pushed her through the connection.
Once Enid's feet landed on the solid ground of the office she let out a sigh of relief, the heads of the occupants all looked in her direction and then she was met with questioning looks and oncoming questions, thankfully Wednesday stepped through the connector and looked at the others, coffee in hand.
“When the hell did you get that?” Enid eyed the goth.
“Just, no point in grovelling with no coffee.”
“Addams you look like shit,” Bianca said matter-of-factly, getting a harsh look from Weems.
“I appreciate that, We have bigger matters to deal with thought as I had a vision. We will be forced to go to war.”
