He's A Cuddler

Summary:

Ghost can only sleep when he knows that Johnny is within reach. Soap just tries not to suffocate while sleeping with the man/octopus.

Notes:

Hahahahhahaha. I have been sucked down the rabbit hole that is Simon “Ghost” Riley and his boyfriend, Johnny “Soap” MacTavish. I have had writer’s block for literal ages but the moment I see a pretty man, it’s over. I should be ashamed of myself. (I'm not.)

Work Text:

“Johnny,” Ghost called out to the younger man, his voice clear without the muffle of his usual headset.

“Hmm?” came Soap’s tired reply. He rolled onto his back in the dark, tugging the blankets up with him in the process. The room was dark, the curtains pulled close. Soap could only make out his boyfriend’s mask if he squinted. “Yeah?”

“Why you so far away?” Ghost reached out into the dark space between them, fingers grasping for any bit of Soap that he could. “What did I do to get your knickers in a twist?”

“I’m a hair away from you, Simon. What are you on about?”

Ghost found Soap’s arm and pulled him close. His arm went around the shorter man, his leg was thrown over his to keep him in place. “This is much better,” Ghost sighed in relief. He tucked Soap into his chest, placing the top of Soap’s head underneath his chin.

“Are you tryin’ to kill me?” Soap whined, struggling to shift in Ghost’s hold. “I can’t sleep like this every night, Simon.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. This is a perfectly respectable position to go to bed in.”

Soap sighed, knowing that Ghost wasn’t going to budge. He tried a final attempt to get breathing room but Ghost wasn’t going to let him out of his arms a second time that night. “Wait until I tell the others you're a cuddler.”

Ghost huffed a laugh into Soap’s hair, hand going to play with the soft buzzed sides. “Try it. None of them will believe you.”

Soap rolled his eyes despite knowing Ghost couldn’t see him. “Just go to sleep.”

Ghost squeezed Soap tightly within his arms and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to head. “That was the plan.”
