Chapter Text
The next time Eddie came to check on Dylan, he was awake. The nap seemed to have done him some good.
"I'm really sorry, Dad." Dylan murmurs when Eddie walked over to sit on the edge of the bed, looking at him. "I had no idea, about this."
"We already know, it's alright." Eddie comforted, rubbing the back of his son's neck. "You are still very young, Dylan. This thing shouldn't have to worry you yet. I just..." Eddie sighed, "All me and your Dad can ask is.. Be careful." Eddie said gently to Dylan who nodded slowly. "Try not to get yourself so worked up, or stress yourself out too much. Until we can figure out how to help you."
"He was making fun of you both." Dylan mumbled into his knees. "Miles was making fun of Sleeper too." Eddie gave his son a sympathetic look.
"Kids are just like that. They’re mean. We aren't an ordinary family to them, and they'll always make fun and pick on you for it. Ignore it, eventually they'll get bored of you." Eddie rubbed Dylan’s back gently. "We may not be ordinary but at least we aren't boring, huh?" He grinned, trying his best to lighten the mood.
We are the best family. Venom boasted proudly as he manifested outside of Eddie as a full body instead of a wraith head, carefully crouching down in front of Dylan who was sitting next to Eddie. You are very lucky to be born into such a weird little family. We would do anything for you and Sleeps. No parent has more love for their children than us. Venom's white eyes studied over Dylan carefully. If you are having trouble at school, then you must come and tell us.. Do not keep stuff like that a secret, please, Dylan.
"It's Thompson's kid." Eddie sighed to his partner’s dismay, who grumbles in response. "Don't worry, I'll talk to him about it." Eddie brought Sleeper over to sit in his lap, stroking his back gently. "This family is our fortress, without it we're nothing. Keep it safe." Eddie said to his boys and to Venom who nodded in agreement.
Back home, Klyntar did not bond with their offspring, or create parental relationships with them. Venom began, catching his sons' attention as he spoke about his home planet. It was considered a weakness, because emotional dependence on a parental figure was pathetic. It was kill or be killed. Venom's clawed hand rest on Dylan's lap, gently squeezing his hand. But not here. Not ever. You are my offspring. I will not let them take you away from me, not again. Dylan could see the slither of pain in his father's eyes, after what happened with his previous offspring being extracted from him. Dylan leaned forward and nuzzled his forehead against his fathers.
"Never. We're a family, no one can take that away from us." Dylan smiled. This was his fortress, his weird, unordinary family that he wouldn't trade for the entire world. "I'm thinking of going for a walk with Sleeper. Down to the bridge." Dylan got up from his bed, gesturing for Sleeper to come onto his shoulder. Eddie and Venom nodded and let him leave.
"Don't be out too long, it's pretty cold. Keep each other safe." Eddie said and slipped away from the bedroom with Venom and down the stairs. Dylan smiled, looking at Sleeper on his shoulder and rushed down the stairs and outside.
Living in New York made it difficult to go on scenic walks, places that weren't just skyscrapers. Dylan and Sleeper had found a nice spot though, near the Brooklyn Bridge where they could sit down and watch the airplanes fly over their heads, and enjoy the sounds of city life from afar.
Dylan and Sleeper made it over where they could sit on a private dock, to a abandoned building that was rather rickety and old. Dylan’s legs dangled over the edge of the water with Sleeper sitting at his side in wolf form.
"Something is bothering you." Sleeper spoke to his brother, tail curled to his paws. "What is the matter? Why are you still upset?"
"I don't know.. I just feel like, there's so much still unanswered. About me." Dylan said while he was swinging his legs, chin resting on the metal pole that prevented him from falling into the water. "There's so much I have to ask and know but, I just don't know where to start. You heard them yourself, I'm still young. Should I really be worrying about this now?"
"If you want my input... Yes. I feel like our parents are simply trying to not scare you." Sleeper said, which made Dylan more nervous. "This is a big deal, Dylan. You. No one has ever been you, understood you. Not even Knull himself would understand why you are the way you are."
"So I should be worried?"
"All I'm saying is, don't forget about it. You don't have to think about it all the time... But be conscious of it. We have already seen what you can do, what happened today." Sleeper said, placing a paw on his brother's hand. "You have unimaginable strength inside of you that you're only now becoming aware of. Learn to control it, understand it. I will be here with you to help, as much as I can."
"...I can try." Dylan murmured. Sleeper smiled a little at him, looking back over the water and to the skyline of New York. The pair sat in comfortable silence for around five minutes, admiring their surroundings, deep in thought. Sleeper hoped that Dylan understood just how severe his abilities were, and the dangers it could bring if he didn't learn to understand them. Dylan was busy thinking.
His parents wanted to keep him safe, keep them safe. But Dylan didn't know how this would be possible. Not while he wielded Symbiotic abilities as a human.
Dylan kept thinking until he felt prickles at the back of his neck, like goosebumps, or his hair standing up. He rubbed it, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. Then came the sound of faint, incoherent whispering inside of his head from every direction.
"Are you okay?" Sleeper asked Dylan, noticing how his brother was twitching a little and rubbing his neck vigorously. The whispers got louder, and louder. It was becoming uncomfortable and something was telling Dylan that he needed to look back.
Slowly the teenager turned his body so he could glance behind him, and when he did Dylan saw a pair of curled white eyes staring at him within the shadows.
Dylan suddenly locks his arm around Sleeper's neck and tugs the wolf harshly to the side with himself, narrowly missing the vicious attack of a Symbiote that leapt from the shadows of the building behind them, shrieking in anger. Immediately Sleeper manifested from pure adrenaline and caught Dylan before the boy fell into the water below them.
Dylan scrambles up from his feet and watched as Sleeper wrestles with the Symbiote, two piles of goop in a messy scrap, like a cat fight. Dylan wanted to do something, anything to maybe help his brother, and while he was lost in thought the stray Symbiote slipped out of Sleeper's grasp and made a leap for Dylan who screams in terror.
The teenager didn't have time to dodge when the Symbiote pounced on him, sending the two of them flying off the side of the dock and into the deep water below.
"DYLAN!" Sleeper barks out in worry and in his wolf form, he jumped off the side of the dock and dove in after them. Dylan was wrestling with the Symbiote that was attacking him under the water, he was holding his breath as long as he could. The Klyntar was a crimson red and had a long green tongue that was wrapped around Dylan's wrist, restricting him.
Dylan kept struggling under the water with the Symbiote, swinging his fists as much as he could despite the restraint the water had on him. Dylan used his legs to kick and propel the alien away that gave him enough time to swim up to the surface and gasp for air. When he surfaced he felt something slice at his leg and he yells out in pain, and when he looked down Dylan could see the distorted black and yellow silhouette of Sleeper who was entangled with the red alien after swiping at him, the two of them shrieking and snarling as they battled.
Dylan took this opportunity to paddle his way towards the steps of the dock that led to the water, heaving his body that was now weighed down with his clothing onto the steps and shakily getting to his feet. Dylan glanced to his ripped jeans and saw black seeping from his skin, instead of red human blood like he expected.
Dylan stared helplessly for a moment but he covered it up and glanced back to the water. Sleeper was still thrashing with the red Klyntar, the water sloshing uncontrollably until the red Symbiote gave up and pounced out of the water, seeping underneath the dock and rushing elsewhere, possibly back into the building where it came from.
"Sleeper!" Dylan called for his brother, watching the black and yellow silhouette approach the steps of the dock and pull himself up next to Dylan, shaking off the water.
" Little bastard got away. I managed to sink my teeth in a few times." The wolf looked unharmed, but there were a few slices here and there that patched themselves up slowly. " How did you know that was there?" Sleeper asked almost breathlessly. "Are you okay?"
"I-I'm fine, I just... I don't know how-"
"No time. Come, we need to tell our parents." Sleeper nudges Dylan under the legs and the boy straddled his back, holding onto his tendril fur. Sleeper rushed away, along the Brooklyn Bridge and through the streets of New York. They promised that an encounter with a stray Symbiote was reported to their parents immediately, but this was far worse than they could have predicted after Dylan was physically attacked.
Dylan rushed inside and Sleeper followed behind him, rushing into the work space where Eddie usually was. He wasn't. "Dad? Father?" Dylan shouts through the house, looking into every room with Sleeper. Neither of them were there. How long had they been gone?
The poor teenager was trudging through the house soaking wet, and he felt somewhat bad for leaving water everywhere, but Dylan knew his parents would be more worried about the encounter with the Symbiote than Dylan being dripping wet.
He heard the annoying whispering inside of his head again and almost by instinct, his head snapped towards the open front door. "Sleeper! You idiot, you didn't shut the door!" Dylan scolds and ran down the hall, closing it quickly.
Just as Dylan was about to lock it, the door was suddenly kicked open again sending Dylan flying into the stairs with a crash. Sleeper growls, leaping in front of his brother quickly and looking him over. Dylan was fine, just a little dazed. He turned his attention to the busted open door. It was a Symbiote, this time it had a host, standing on two legs, bearing huge teeth at them.
Where's the boy?! The Symbiote stepped over the broken door with a snarl, long prehensile hair flowing behind them.
"Fuck! Dylan, get up!" Sleeper shouts at his brother and manifested into his two-leg form, turning to watch as the Symbiote barreled through the hallway snarling and screeching. The two Symbiotes clashed and Dylan managed to jump away to safety as the two aliens slammed into the stairs, crashing into the ground. "Get your phone and call Eddie! Now!"
Dylan obeyed his words and rushed up the broken stairs when Sleeper threw the Symbiote in the living room, wrestling with it and trying to keep it restrained. He wasn't allowed to kill the Symbiote, because captures ones were taken to the laboratory to be studied and observed safely, not tested on cruelly like the previous LIFE Foundation owner wanted. It was in better hands now. The only exception was a life-threatening situation.
Dylan fumbled with his phone from his backpack and shakily looked through his contacts, finding his Dad and dialling him. It took two tries until he finally answered. "Dad! Dad there's a Symbiote in the house fighting Sleeper! Where are you?! Please come back!"
It is me. We are on our way. I had a feeling something was wrong. Venom said down the phone, having taken it from Eddie while he was manifested over him. Do not panic, your brother knows what he is doing. Stay out of the way, keep yourself safe. And with that Venom hung up and Dylan was left alone. He could hear the screeching and crashing downstairs while the Symbiotes were still fighting.
Dylan hurried to aid his brother. Sleeper had the yellow Symbiote restrained on the coffee table that was now broken to pieces, holding them down with numerous tendrils, making sure their prehensile hair was tied as well. The Symbiote was squirming and yelling at Sleeper above them, baring teeth.
" Stop showing your teeth before I show mine." Sleeper snarks, holding them down with his huge knee against their chest. The Symbiote seemed to be presenting feminine, the longer Dylan looked.
"Are you okay?" Dylan crept slowly over to Sleeper, making sure to keep a safe distance. "It looks like a different one from what we saw before. This one has a host." Dylan commented at the Symbiote that turned their attention to the human boy now. The Symbiote stared at him, as if in complete bewilderment, or disbelief.
Dylan! It is Dylan! Praise Knull, I have found Dylan! The Symbiote was chanting ominously beneath Sleeper's restraints. The boy was uneasy as the Symbiote kept chanting his name over and over again, and the name of Knull, who he knew was the Symbiote God, also known as the King in Black. And his grandfather.
"How do you know my name?" Dylan narrows his eyes.
We have been searching everywhere for you. Across numerous galaxies. Many lightyears of looking for you, and here you are. Knull will like you. The Symbiote purrs to Dylan. The boy felt his stomach and his heart drop completely at those words. Knull will like him? What was that supposed to mean?
Before he could question it further his parents came bombarding through the broken door, along with the sound of sirens approaching in the distance. Venom snarled loudly at the Symbiote that was restrained in his living room, walking over and peering down at it. Eddie and Venom had separated into two different entities now, Eddie running over to protect Dylan, holding his son close. Venom. Venomvenomvenom! Oh, it is Venom! The yellow Symbiote chanted again, giddy like. Hello, Parent. The tone of the Symbiote suddenly changed, spitting the word 'parent' like it was poison.
Hello, Scream. Venom growled back. How dare you invade my home like this and hurt my children? Venom barked angrily at the Symbiote restrained under Sleeper's knee.
Knull wants your children. He is coming for them! Mark my words! You abandoned us! Abandoned me! Chose these human-hybrid abominations over us! Scream cried out and was silenced as she sunk back into her goop form, trying to make an escape. Her host was a woman, laying very unconscious on the ground after Scream had disconnected from her. It was Donna Diego, a scientist within the LIFE Foundation. Scream must have taken her when they escaped.
Before Scream could slip away and make an escape Venom stomps on her gooey body and leaned down to pick up the pile of yellow goop in his huge claws. When the emergency services finally arrived, along with a van of Alchemax scientists, Scream was put safely in one of their contraptions safe for Symbiotes and taken back to the laboratory, along with the unconscious Donna Diego to the hospital.
Are you okay? Are you hurt? Come here- Venom crouched in front of Dylan who was on the ground still, holding his arms up and checking over his son very intently, brushing hair out of his eyes and using a clawed finger to check him over. Venom noticed the rip in his jeans and tried to take a closer look but Dylan flinched away, like he was worried.
"I'm fine, Dad. I didn't do any of the fighting." Dylan reassured and looked up at Eddie who was checking over Sleeper, who sat there trying to convince Eddie he was perfectly fine. After confirming both Dylan and Sleeper were okay, both parents were pulled outside to talk with some of the cops about the situation, while another group of cops came to talk to Sleeper and Dylan.
"Did you two see where the Symbiote came from?" One of the cops, a woman, was crouching in front of Dylan on the ground with Sleeper sitting at his side.
"No. I closed the door and it kicked it down. I hurt my head a little but, I'm fine now." Dylan rubbed the back of his head, realizing that the soreness was completely gone, and he was no longer dizzy. Few more questions were asked, ones that both brothers wasn't much help answering, considering the Symbiote seemed to attack them out of no where and was restrained pretty quickly.
Dylan said nothing about what Scream said to him. About Knull. About him coming to Earth. Dylan was quiet about that.
The cops stayed for a good two hours, investigating, asking questions, going around the street asking passersby if they saw where the Symbiote came from. One person said they saw it, and it came from above, which wasn't too much help but the cops investigated anyway. They also compensated for the damages to the home, there was no reason for it, but considering Eddie and Venom were lethal for their team while they were working alongside one another, it seemed to be a favor. One they were grateful for.
Once everything had been investigated and the living room had been bordered off, the cops left the Brock family alone. Venom shut the front door, after shifting it back onto the hinges. It took a while for the crowd of passersby to die down outside.
"This is awful." Eddie stressed, pacing back and forth the hallway. "This is terrible. You heard what Scream said. He's coming for them." Eddie was gnawing on his own lip. Venom stops him, huge hands holding his wrists so he was stood in place.
We will protect them. The best we can. Venom promised to his partner who was still incredibly nervous.
"Who was that Symbiote? She called you Parent." Dylan emerged from around the corner, looking at his parents who turned to look at him.
That was Scream. One of the offspring extracted from me. She is following a new path, along with her siblings. A path of darkness and destruction. Venom said to his son, still trying to calm down his husband who was now gnawing on his finger. Babe, stop that-
"Why doesn't she like you?" Dylan asked again.
Because she believes… That I abandoned them on purpose. Venom replies, keeping his tone steady. This was a touchy subject. I did not abandon them on purpose. When I escaped with you, your Father and your brother, I assumed they killed them. Scientist took them away from me, could not find them. Did not know where they were. Assumed they were dead.
"Why don't you tell her that?" Dylan approached him closer, looking up at Venom who simply sighed down at him.
I wish it was that easy. Would make things a lot easier for us. Venom pulled Dylan gently against him and Dylan nuzzled into his rubbery skin. He was tiny compared to his parent, which made cuddles and hugs extra special. I... Want to talk to you both, about something. About what Scream told you. Venom gestured for everyone to come and they all sat down together, around the usual table where conflicts and things were solved.
"Did Scream say anything to you before we came?" Eddie looked at Dylan and Sleeper, asking them both gently. He was still rather shaken up.
"She did.." Dylan said, half zoned out staring at the table while he thought. "Scream was chanting something, saying 'It is Dylan, praise Knull, I have found Dylan' or something... I-I'm not quite sure but, she sounded almost… Happy." Dylan glances at Venom and Eddie who looked at each other. "She said that the Symbiotes have been travelling across galaxies and lightyears looking for me, for us." Dylan looked at his brother who was sitting on the table in his feline form. "What does this all mean? I don't understand.."
It means that Knull is looking for you. You are in danger if he is coming. Everyone is. Venom didn't sugarcoat anything he was trying to tell his son. Dylan was in danger, and he didn't want it to feel less than that.
"But why is he coming? Why me? What does he want that I have?" Dylan was asking the questions he really wanted to know the answers of. Sadly, neither of his parents could give him any.
"We don't know, Dylan.. It might have something to do with the power you wield. As a human-symbiote." Eddie said. "He might want that. What you possess."
"I don't know how I could give that to him."
Getting you is giving it to him. Which is why I cannot let you get into anymore rumble with.. Them. Venom was referring to his offspring. Because they work for him now. They are on his side. They want you to give to him, an offering. You at Knull's side and his command. You would be unstoppable. Venom was looking at Dylan very intently, who was staring at the table in front of him. Dylan was very unfamiliar with this power he held, he had only just discovered it. Now the God of Symbiotes, his grandfather, was coming to Earth to retrieve him? For abilities he had no control over?
"Can't I just get rid of them? The powers?" Dylan meekly asks Venom, who shook his head gently.
I wish it was as easy as that, my son. But, no. It's.. It's not possible. Being part of a Symbiote yourself, a part of me... It just, happens. It's genetics.
"I wish I wasn't." Dylan mumbled, arms folded. All of this information was overwhelming. He was just fourteen. A teenager, who just wanted to live his life and not have anything to do with this alienated life he was forced to live with. The threat of being attacked by his... Step siblings? Would always lurk with him.
" Dylan, you don't mean that." Sleeper said next to him, " It is overwhelming, but you can't blam-"
"I do mean that. It would be so much easier if I was just a human!" Dylan thumped his hands on the table and shifted out of his seat with a loud squeak, walking out of the room and stomping upstairs to his room and shutting the door, very loudly. Eddie was ready to get up from his seat and go after him but Sleeper shook his head very quickly.
" Let him be for a while. He is a teenager, a very hormonal, overwhelmed teenager. Dumping all of this information on him, and then saying his life is in danger... It's not the best news. Give him time, parents. He will be okay." Sleeper reassured both Eddie and Venom who simply nodded at his statement and the family disbanded for the night.
-
It was quiet. A lot quiet than usual. Before bed Eddie could usually hear the kids in Dylan's room messing around on their games or watching the TV a little too loudly. But now it was just dead silence, and it made him uncomfortable.
Eddie couldn't close his eyes and get to sleep. Even with Venom spooning him with his hand on Eddie's chest, holding his, it wasn't enough to settle the distressed father who stares aimlessly at the wall.
You are still upset. Venom mumbles quietly against the back of Eddie's neck, who shivered gently.
"A little bit…" Eddie mumbled back, shuffling against Venom's body a little more to try and ease himself but nothing was working. "I just feel like, he's right."
About what, exactly? Venom asks gently, shuffling a little now so he was propped up on one elbow looking down at his Other. ...Do you mean that, it would be better if he wasn't a part of me?
"No, no no, no not that love, of course not." Eddie stammers quickly and turned so he was facing Venom now, gently pecking his chin. "No. You're the best Dad, nothing will change that. I just mean... That it's unfair that this is something Dylan has to live with, that he's something Knull wants. That those Symbiotes know who he is." Eddie plopped his head on Venom's bicep, staring at nothing. "I just want him to be a normal kid, be a normal teenager. Not one that has to worry about these powers, or about a God from outer space coming for him.." Eddie was so worried, probably more worried than Dylan himself.
I agree. I wish this did not happen to him, that maybe he did not have to suffer with being part Klyntar. Venom sighs back, rubbing the side of his partner's face gently with his clawed thumb, trying to ease the worry in Eddie’s eyes. We will protect him, okay? Keep him safe... I think, letting Sleeper sneak into his backpack to school is a good idea now. Keep an eye on him, make sure no Symbiotes hurt him. If Dylan ever encounters one without his brother around, no good will come to him trying to channel his powers. He will do more harm than good. Venom said and Eddie nods in agreement. I will also walk them to school and from school myself. As a Mastiff. Make sure they are not followed again.
"Good idea…" Eddie trails off, still completely lost in thought.
You are still troubled. Venom frowns softly, not angrily, and tilts Eddie's head gently with his finger to meet eye contact. I will go and see if he is awake, and talk to him if he is. Will that ease your worry?
"Yes, please... I just, want to make sure that he didn't mean what he said, about you." Eddie mumbled up to his Other, gently stroking the side of Venom's face with his hand. "See if he's awake." He quietly pleads and Venom obeys, shuffling out of bed and walking out of the room.
He ducks under the ceiling light and pressed his face close to Dylan's door, listening. He could hear faint murmuring, of Dylan and Sleeper talking.
Dylan? Are you awake? Venom asked quietly, knowing better than to barge into his son's room. Some parental formality that Eddie had talked to him about when they were pregnant.
"Yeah, you can come in." Dylan said back and Venom ducked under his doorframe as he entered. Dylan watched his parent struggling a little due to his size and watched how he shrunk a little to accommodate to the size of his son's bedroom. Sleeper was curled on the end of Dylan's bed where he slept every night, insisting that he didn't need a bedroom to himself. "I've been meaning to talk to you-"
Oh, that is great. I am here to talk too. Venom interrupted unintentionally and sat down carefully on the edge of Dylan's bed. Your Dad, he is very worried about you, as am I. I... Wanted to ask. Venom was never good when it came to the talks you would usually have with children when there was tension, or an argument had happened. He was getting better, though. Did... Did you mean what you said? About not wanting to be half Klyntar? Venom looked very small now, as if he was scared.
"No.. No of course I didn't mean it. I- I was just.. Scared." Dylan shrugged, shuffling so he was sat next to Venom. "I thought my biggest worry as a kid my age was if I got my homework in on time... But now? Now I have to worry about your God coming to Earth and looking for me. Your offspring, Scream, was it? They found me. They know who I am." Dylan rubbed his arm, getting goosebumps just talking about it. "And I'm lost. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, or why I am the way I am. Why have I got powers? What are they meant for?"
There are many questions with no answers yet, my boy. I will try as hard as I can, to answer them for you. We will talk... To anyone we can. To get help. Because if Knull comes to Earth, we cannot fend him off ourselves. Venom put a huge hand on Dylan's back comfortingly. You have a great purpose in this world, Dylan. You are here for a reason, and that reason will reveal itself when the time comes, and when it does, we will be here for you. Nothing and no one will hurt you. Venom reassured and kissed the top of his head. Please, worry no more about this. Leave it to me and your Dad. Venom mumbled against his hair and let him be. Venom got up and picked Sleeper up for a moment to cuddle his feline son, stroking his back and listening to his deep purring. Sleeper is your brother, your guardian. While he remains at your side, you are untouchable. Never forget that.
"Never." Sleeper purred proudly and jumped back down to Dylan who was settling under the covers now, laying at his feet. "Goodnight, Father."
Night my loves. I will also be walking you to and from school, as a Mastiff, of course. So you run into no more trouble of Symbiotes following you. Sleeper, you are permitted to go to school with Dylan ONLY if you remain hidden in his backpack. Venom purred quietly when the boys nodded in agreement and left the boys be, going back to his partner who was still wide awake. They are fine, sweetheart. Nothing to worry about, Dylan was just troubled about Knull, and meant nothing of what he said. Venom purred comfortingly as he was shuffling back to his side. Eddie turned and buried his body against Venom, his head pressed into Venom's neck with a leg over his waist.
"Oh good, good.. I'll talk to him myself tomorrow. I'm glad he's okay... Sometimes I have to remember that Dylan is a teenager now."
Me too. He is growing up too fast. Venom said quietly, strong arms wrapped around Eddie with the blanket over them. I wish time would slow down just a little more for us. We should do something soon, something nice, as a family. I cannot remember the last time we took the boys out somewhere nice, without work getting in the way.
"You're right, we'll take them somewhere nice. Maybe take their minds off of this for now." Eddie shut his eyes, preparing to fall asleep.
I think we need the Avenger's help. Venom said suddenly, which made Eddie almost fly out of bed in pure horror.
"The Avengers? Seriously? Why would we need them?" Eddie squeaked in alarm at his Other.
Think about it. An Eldritch God of Darkness comes to Earth with a fleet of Symbiotes to retrieve our son and you expect us to stop him? Alone? Venom queried which silenced Eddie as he was about to open his mouth and say something. We need help, my darling. We cannot do this alone, if we do one of us will die. All of us could die. Venom sounded sad at that thought. The thought of his family dying at the hands of Knull. I know the Avengers do not particularly like us, and we do not like them either. But this is also for the sake of the world, and you know they would do anything to keep the world safe. We need their help, as much as they will need ours. Venom mumbled to his partner who was laying there in silence for a moment, deeply thinking and considering what he was saying. Was he right? The description of Knull coming to Earth with his invasion of Symbiotes sounded... Terrifying.
"And you are absolutely certain this will work?"
Absolutely. Please, my love, for the sake of keeping our sons safe.
"Okay. I trust your judgement. We'll talk to them tomorrow, as soon as we can." Eddie promised and Venom smiled the best he could, giving Eddie a kiss. "You better be right about this." Eddie muffled against his lips.
When am I ever wrong? Venom purred teasingly and smacked Eddie in the face with a pillow before he could say anything to prove otherwise. Now get some sleep. Venom cooed gently and nuzzled Eddie back into him, cocooned around his husband tightly as if he couldn't bear to let him go. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day.
