Work Text:

Jeff sat up in his bed as he watched trees move dramatically outside of his window.

Rain was hitting the window like crazy, wind rushed past the house, and thunder was heard together with a shit ton of lightning flashes repeatedly lighting up Jeff's room which made it impossible for the boy to sleep. It wasn't the only thing that kept him from sleeping, though. No, it was everything else.

Sure, Jeff was insane. Sure, he had carved a permanent smile on his face and he found it pretty, too. But everyone had their fears! Jeff absolutely hates storms, especially when they're as heavy and dramatic as the currently ongoing one. He was afraid of them as a little kid, and he's afraid of them now. The only difference was that as a little kid, he always went to his parents for comfort but well they have been dead for a while now as Jeff is currently sixteen years old.

A flash appeared once again, and thunder sounded right after. But boy, it was loud. The fact that Jeff grew up with his parents telling him that the seconds in the pauze between flash and sound was how far thunder was in kilometers per second didn't comfort him at all since the sound was directly after the light.

"Fuck this shit." Jeff mumbled to himself, pulling the covers of his bed away from him and stepping out of his bed. He opened the door of his room, fliching slightly at another flash of light and the sound of thunder following immediately after.

Walking from his room all the way to the end of the hallway, passing all sorts of other bedrooms but not paying attention to any of them, he saw light coming from underneath the door of the room he had been planning on going to.

'Still awake. Good.' Jeff thought before knowing on the door.

The door immediately opened, revealing a corpse looking, tall guy with dark brown hair and pitch black eyes, standing there in a black t-shirt and dark gray sweatpants that went well with his light gray skin.

"I was expecting you." Eyeless Jack said, allowing Jeff to enter his room, as the fellow killer did.

Jack knew Jeff quite well, considering they're boyfriends.

He knew how much Jeff likes Chinese food, why and how he keeps his hair long and super soft, and he knows how Jeff likes to sometimes just sit on rooftops and stargaze every now and then just to escape the insanity of both the people around him and himself. Hell, Jack even knows how much time Jeff spends with Smile.JPG per day! There was absolutely nothing secret between the two of them, and thus Jack also knew how Jeff was afraid of storms.

The two serial killers sat on Jack's king sized bed in silence, Jeff grabbing the eye mask in the drawer of the nightstand next to him, knowing Jack kept it there for him, and pulled it over his head so it was very easy to cover his eyes with them once he was ready to try and sleep. Jack moved so he was back underneath the covers as he had been before Jeff arrived, and he scooted to one side of the bed, looking at Jeff expectantly. As he thought what would've happened, Jack watched as Jeff did the same, but then on the other side of the bed. Both boys moved closer to each other, and Jack wrapped his arms around Jeff.

For a supposedly dead corpse, Jack's body provided comforting warmth for Jeff. Jeff never knew how Jack's body worked. He knew it was naturally cold, having heard comments from other housemates whenever they had received physical contact from Jack, but when Jeff received the same contact, Jack's body was warm. Jeff hasn't even once experienced the coldness people claim to get from the teen with pitch black eyes. But Jeff didn't mind anything of it. In fact, he loved it. He absolutely loved to be warm, hated to be cold, and so Jack was just perfect for him, especially when it comes to this.

A flash of light shone in the room for a split second, making Jeff flinch of surprise, but the loudest thunder yet followed right after, and he curled up just a bit. That was, until he felt one of Jack's hands carding through his hair gently.

"It's alright." Jack mumbled with a hushed voice. "The storm will pass by soon. Just try to get some sleep. I'll be here at all times."

Usually, Jeff would tell someone to fuck off if they were to tell him that. But when it came out of this man's mouth, he melted, and he found comfort in the words and the actions.

Jeff nodded his head slightly, snuggling closer to his partner to dig into the warmth of his body to lull him to sleep.

Jack carded a hand through Jeff's black locks, every now and then gently scratching Jeff's scalp at the perfect spot. Jack himself also calmed at this moment. Just the presence of his partner and the fact that Jack was holding him in his arms to comfort him made Jack feel all warm and cozy.

He scooted just a tad closer to the other, allowing himself to share his body heat, knowing Jeff liked it.

Right when the burned boy could feel himself slip away, there was a soft knock on the door, bringing him back.

"It's open." Jack said, letting go of Jeff and sitting up slightly, much to Jeff's dismay.

The door was opened just slightly by a small hand, and a small girl in a pink nightgown was shown as the door opened itself further.

The little girl had her teddy bear with her.

"What is it, Sally?" Jack asked in a hushed tone.

Sally held her teddy up. "Mr Death is scared of the thunder and can't sleep." She stated. "....And maybe me too."

Jack huffed, showing a small smile as he patted on an empty spot at his and Jeff's legs. "Come here."

Sally immediately closed the door (as silently as she could) and hopped on the end of the bed. She only just now noticed Jeff.

"Jeff also scared?" She asked Jack, tilting her head just a little bit.

"No." Jeff, now having the eye mask covering his eyes, mumbled out, but Sally trusted the nodding of Jack's head a little more. Jeff didn't notice it, and just nuzzled into the pillow below his head.

"You can stay with us for the night if you want to, Sal." Jack said. "And so can Mr Death."

Sally smiled as she got in between Jeff and Jack, allowed by Jack as he scooted back a bit. "Thank you." She whispered to Jack when she was underneath the covers.

Jack moved so he was laying down as well. "Try to sleep. The storm will end sooner like that."

Slenderman would be sighing over and over again if he had a mouth. He had spoken (through their heads, as that seems to be the only way he can communicate with anyone at all) to Jane, Toby, Brian, Ben, Natalie, Jonathan and Jason but yet no one seemed to know where Sally was. Hell, he had even sent Smile.Jpg to sniff out her scent throughout the manor.

Not too long later, Slender found Smile scratching at the door of Eyeless Jack's room.

Slender opened the door, and Smile entered the room, going to immediately stand next to the bed.

Taking a quick glance around the room, he was quick to spot Sally in the bed, right in between Jack and Jeff. Jack had his arm over Sally, and his hand was resting at Jeff's waist as if he had laid his arm out like that to sign to both that he remained there the entire night. It did seem to work, because otherwise Sally would have woken up an hour or two ago already, but she seemed to be still asleep just like the other two.

Slender relaxed as his worry faded, and he watched as Smile laid down next to the bed, by Jeff's side.

The tall being stepped back, and closed the door before him. He could let the three sleep for just a little longer.
