Chapter Text
Out of all of the things that have plagued her mind, this man has been the most prominent one. Nothing could compare to his persistent presence, or the unforgettable moments she constantly witnessed. Her entire life has been a constant struggle, a misery she always said was her only own - yet this one man changed that overnight.
Her duties had always been more important than her, she always said. But one day spent with his company seemed to be able to make her laugh off all the pressure from her shoulders. A lovely reminder that she was still worth something, despite owing her entirety to others.
That was Itto.
He was so stupid when it came to almost everything. He could annoy her beyond relief of words, grunts or gestures. He could be the only one in the room and still make the collective IQ drop a few notches.
She hated him and his carefree attitude at first. He never took things seriously, he never took HER seriously- however, someday, somehow, his antics began to brighten her day. Slowly, at first. Until she was used to having him around almost every second of the day, and she didn't understand why she still longed to see him, even after they've spent so much time together.
She called it a fever dream, something she was imagining for the sake of her own sanity, but deep down she knew that wasn't the case.
Deep down, she knew her feelings grew beyond words, beyond comfort and longing. Beyond love, even.
But that was just the way things were. That was just the way she was with Itto.
And nothing could possibly change this eternal limbo she was in; the ebb and flow of the waves she crashed down on that beach, where she met him for the first time.
