Chapter Text

April 28th, during the Cyborg incident.

After the lab had blown up, Aloe Cookie’s first instinct was to run back to the lab to rescue any of her personal belongings and the Ion Cookie Robots. Her ears were ringing as she was temporarily deafened by the loud explosion, dodging any debris on the ground. She was afraid of the blazing inferno but she had no choice to approach it and rescue her stuff. She also knew it was a bad idea but she had no choice and didn’t want another precious memory of her’s gone forever. Aloe Cookie ran towards the laboratory only to notice one of the Ion Cookie Robots come out of the burning laboratory, unscathed. “I-Ion Cookie Robot! Thank goodness you are okay! You’re not damaged are you?” There was no response, more Ion Cookie Robots started to show up. This made Aloe Cookie excited to see more of them that survived the inferno, she ran towards the Ion Cookie Robots and gave one of them a hug. “I thought I lost you all…!” Aloe Cookie was suddenly grabbed by the labcoat and tossed aside by one of the Ion Cookie Robots, landing on the ground. Aloe Cookie, who was now stunned, got up and hid in a bush. Besides, she knew there was quite a bit of bushes near the laboratory due to it being located in a forest. What Aloe saw while hiding surprised her. “GYAHAHAHA! FREEDOM AT LAST!” A booming voice yelled. Coming out of the laboratory was Cyborg Cookie, looking around to make sure that no Cookie was around. “Heh, looks good. That dumb scientist must’ve really given up.” They said. “Ion Cookie Robots, the time has come to spread some chaos! You remember what to do, right?” Cyborg Cookie said as they turned around. “Ion Cookie Robot destroys Cookies. Robots = superior.” All of the Ion Cookie Robots said. Cyborg Cookie smirked. “Excellent..! Now then, ROLL OUT!” All of the Ion Cookie Robots ran away, getting ready to attack. Well, all but one. Cyborg Cookie stopped the bot and it looked up at them. “Now, where do you think you’re going?” They asked. “I am simply obeying your commands, Cyborg Cookie.” “Well I happen to have new commands for you, my friend! Scan the area. Make sure that greeny here doesn’t come back to the lab. You will stay here to do exactly that!”

Ion Cookie Robot nodded. “Understood. Scanning.” Ion Cookie Robot started to look around the area. “Great, let me know if you find anything~!” Cyborg Cookie said in a singsong voice, walking away. Aloe Cookie started to panic, she knew that the Ion Cookie Robots and Cyborg Cookie gone rogue. She didn’t know what happened to the Ion Cookie Robots that caused them to act like this though, were they reprogrammed perhaps? Maybe convinced into destroying Cookies? Who knows. Cyborg would know, but Aloe knew they would refuse to tell if she tried to ask. “I need to do something about this.” She said. Ion Cookie Robot was staring at the bush the Aloe Cookie was hiding in, it appears to heard her. Ion Cookie Robot then signals a alert to Cyborg Cookie. “Intruder alert! Intruder alert!” “W-WAIT NO! ION COOKIE ROBOT! It’s me, Aloe Cookie! Your creator!” She shouted, coming out of the bush in fear as she flinched. She wanted it to recognize her, but to no avail. Aloe Cookie didn’t know what to do. She only had one option, running away or destroying the Ion Cookie Robot. She knew what she had to do, and she would regret it. “Forgive me for this.” Aloe Cookie attempted to try and kick it with her prosthetic, but as she was running up to Ion she falls to the grass, screaming as well. “AAAGH! Now is not a good time for phantom pains! Let alone any time, It hurts so much…” Aloe complained. She tries to get up but gave up, sitting on the grass looking at the plants.

Ion Cookie Robot seemed unfazed by the current situation, it looked at Aloe Cookie before walking away. Aloe tried to get up on her own but not without yelling and falling back down. Ion Cookie Robot walked up towards the pained Aloe Cookie and lifted her up, taking Aloe by surprise. Aloe Cookie was prepared for the worst of it but Ion Cookie Robot tried to set Aloe back on her feet, but she just fell down again as Aloe hissed with an upset expression. “Were you trying to help me up?” Aloe Cookie asked. “Sigh. I couldn’t exterminate you with you being like that. Don’t tell the other robots please.” The Ion Cookie Robot said. This exchange suddenly gave Aloe Cookie an idea. She smirked, looked up at Ion Cookie Robot. “I suppose you can’t just leave me like this? I know the phantom pains will go away eventually but I could use the help.” “Does not compute.” Ion Cookie Robot said as it tilted it’s head as an response, Aloe Cookie sighed. “I’m just trying to ask if you can help me up!” Ion Cookie Robot agreed, it grabbed Aloe by the under the armpits and then lifted up the Cookie. “Thank you very much, it’s kinda awkward since I know you’re on of my own creations who now wants to kill me.” “It feels awkward.” Ion Cookie Robot said. So now what? Ion Cookie Robot and Aloe Cookie looked at each other, already they had the same thought in mind. Fighting. Ion Cookie Robot made the first move by dropping Aloe Cookie in the grass, she tried to crawl towards Ion but her leg made it harder for her, especially since Ion Cookie Robot noticed her and kicked her face three times, causing her get a broken nose and a concussion. Aloe Cookie’s prosthetic leg recovered during the fight but because of the kick from Ion to her face, her vision was temporarily blurred, making it harder for her to find Ion. She got up and tried to make them out by the shapes, but failed. As Aloe started to regain her vision, Ion Cookie Robot approached her and tackled her. “Cookie = Defeated. Robot = Wins.” “Hey! That doesn’t make you win automatically!” Aloe kicked Ion Cookie Robot off of her. Aloe Cookie started to look at a rock that was near her laboratory. This gave Aloe Cookie another idea. Aloe Cookie got up and ran away, attempting to lure Ion Cookie Robot. “Aloe Cookie = Pathetic.” “I’m not pathetic! However, you have just fallen for my plan.” Aloe Cookie said as she stopped in her tracks, Ion Cookie Robot panicked, Aloe then grabbed Ion Cookie Robot and smashed it’s face in against a rock repeatedly, damaging it and shutting down. “I’m sorry Ion Cookie Robot, I’ll fix you once this mess is over!” Aloe Cookie says, holding back tears and running off into the burning lab to rescue her belongs from the inferno from the laboratory, she had to hurry since it was about to fall! Meanwhile, an airborne Cyborg Cookie landed in front of the laboratory, only to notice the broken Ion Cookie Robot. They were starting to get angry, growling and aiming their arm cannon at the malfunctioning Ion Cookie Robot. “You failed me for the LAST TIME!” Cyborg Cookie fired a laser at the Ion Cookie Robot, putting a hole in its body.

“THAT WEED MANAGED TO GET PAST ION COOKIE ROBOT! But, I don’t see her? Where would she be?” Aloe Cookie leaves the lab her Research Notes in hand, along with a framed photo of her friend. Aloe Cookie also has burns on her arms, hands and leg as she coughs and gasps for air. “Well, I’m glad I was able to rescue these. But the lab is something I’ll unable to save unfortunately…” The laboratory remains suddenly collapsed and falls to the ground with it being in the inferno. “Case in point..” She said to herself. “Ahem!” Aloe Cookie got up and as her face became a terrified expression. Cyborg Cookie lifted Aloe Cookie up. “Well, well, well. Looky who it is here. It’s the thorny haired scientist who tortured me!” “Uh- I have a name! It’s Aloe Cookie. Also, I didn’t torture you, I saved you! Why are you doing this, Cyborg Cookie? I thought we were friends.” Cyborg Cookie looked at Aloe Cookie, flabbergasted. Them? Her? Friends? There was no way that they got along in the past. But it did seem familiar to Cyborg Cookie, but they brushed those thoughts aside. “Well, it’s because you brought me pain! So much pain! Those ‘tests’ of yours nearly got me killed! So I’m doing the same by bringing you pain as well!” Cyborg Cookie said. Aloe Cookie started to tear up, feeling god awful. They stopped ranting, now looking at the tearful Aloe Cookie. “I said I was sorry before and you interrupted me while I was apologizing… I really didn’t mean to hurt you, I had good intentions.” Cyborg Cookie sighed. “First of all, I admit it, I’m sorry for interrupting you at first. I guess I should’ve controlled my anger that time. Second of all, I’m still not sure about this whole ‘good intentions thingy you keep on bringing up, Aloe Cookie. And lastly, I have something fun to show you! You wanna see?” Cyborg Cookie said. Aloe stopped tearing up when Cyborg offered something fun, she was skeptical because of how they acted in the past towards her. But she had hope her old friend, Palm Tree must’ve been within Cyborg. If nothing worked out then she would have to use the Memory Chip to restore their memory. So she agreed. “Great! Now grab on to my hand.”

Aloe looked at them with an uneasy feeling. Cyborg gave her a confused expression, until they realized what it was about as they let in a sharp inhale. “Don’t worry, I promise I’m not going drop you.” “O-Okay…” Aloe Cookie nervously replied, they held on tightly to Cyborg’s hands, so tight to the point where it was starting to hurt. “Well then! Up we go!” Cyborg Cookie activated their Gravity Boosters, startling Aloe as they started to get off the ground and became airborne. Aloe closed her eyes, she was too afraid to see how high she was from the ground. They both eventually got higher up as Cyborg loosened Aloe Cookie’s grip on their hand, poking her face to get her attention. “Hey genius! Look where we are.” Aloe opened her eyes, only to realize that they were… in the sky? She yelped and climbed onto Cyborg’s back, wrapping her arms and legs around them as she shook with fear. “Cyborg Cookie, what are we doing here?” Aloe Cookie nervously asked, Cyborg laughed in response. “Well to look at the view from up above, of course! I thought it would be nice before I do something later.” They said. Aloe Cookie’s curiosity peaked. “If I may ask, what is it you plan on doing?” Cyborg Cookie looked away from and squinted. “That’s… that’s not important.” They whispered. “I-I MEAN I haven’t figured that out yet!” “Ah, I see.” The two would stop their conversation, only focusing on the view of the city from the sky. Aloe wasn’t afraid of how high she was anymore, but it could be because she was with a friend, even if Cyborg Cookie didn’t know about their past. Everything looked so small compared to them, they liked to talk about it. Cyborg Cookie flew around the the Cookie Kingdom, mainly the city. This calmed down Aloe Cookie, she was happy to finally have some escapism in her life with her friend. As the sun set, Cyborg Cookie slowed down as they then yawned. Aloe Cookie looked at them with curiosity. “I’m getting tired, let’s go down to that place of your’s.” Cyborg Cookie remarks. Aloe’s eyes widened. “You mean the laboratory?! Well it blew up and burnt down so we don’t have anywhere to sleep.” Aloe Cookie said, she sighed. Aloe did some thinking and got an idea. “Unless I can talk to Hero Cookie to ask if we can stay.” “I’m kind of mixed about this. But as long you know someone then I’m not complaining.” Cyborg Cookie responded. “Let’s go to the lab for now.” Cyborg said. Aloe Cookie raised a thumbs up in response. “Alrighty then! Let’s go!” Cyborg Cookie turned around, traced their tracks and then landed in front of the now destroyed laboratory. Cyborg Cookie set Aloe Cookie down on the grass as she looked around.

“It’s gone, it’s all gone… the Ion Cookie Robots, my experiments, my laboratory. Everything. Including my friend. I don’t want to lose anything else now…” Cyborg Cookie stood in silence, looking down at Aloe Cookie. They walked over to Aloe Cookie and sat down next to her. “Who was your friend that you lost? If you don’t mind me asking of course.” Aloe Cookie looked at Cyborg and then the remains of the laboratory. She took her Research Notes out of her labcoat, looking at the photo on the cover. “It was someone I remember fondly. Palm Tree Cookie. We both were in the same class, we liked to do research together, they would finish my sentences sometimes. It was like two minds thinking alike!” Aloe Cookie said as her voice broke, the more she spoke, crying as well. “We eventually found this lab and called it our home. Especially since no one was really living in there anymore anyway. Until, an accident happened… I don’t remember much of the details but, Palm Tree lost their life during the accident. I also lost my leg during it as well. I miss them a lot, they were funny, really helpful, kind and smart. I mean really smart.” She said. Cyborg Cookie gasped, they didn’t know what to say. They didn’t like Aloe at all but they wanted to comfort her. What was this weird, new emotion they were feeling? Remorse? No, it couldn’t be. They couldn’t be remorseful for the pointy-haired scientist who brought pain to them. But knowing what Aloe Cookie had been through made Cyborg genuinely upset. Cyborg Cookie sighed and hugged Aloe Cookie. “Aloe Cookie, I’m sorry about your friend. They sound really nice.”

Aloe Cookie looked at Cyborg Cookie, she was surprised to see them try to comfort her. As her emotions were too much for her, she then started to break into tears. “They were, they were really nice…!” Aloe replied to Cyborg. Aloe Cookie hugged Cyborg Cookie back as she continued to sob. “There, there, let it out. It’ll all be okay.” They replied in a soothing tone. Cyborg Cookie then started to signal the Ion Cookie Robots to come back to the remains of the laboratory. They obliged and were surprised to see Cyborg trying to calm down Aloe. Cyborg got up and started to walk away. “Ion Cookie Robot, forget about this whole ‘destroying all Cookies’ thingy of our’s, because I think they might not be as bad as I thought they’d be.” Cyborg Cookie said. “Okay. Resetting to original programming… 3% complete.” “Am I doing something wrong? What is this feeling in my stupid mechanical head?! It feels off about me. Something about that interaction with Aloe Cookie, went surprisingly well.” Cyborg Cookie said. “Truth be told, I was considering killing her afterwards. But I guess that’s out of the picture now.” Cyborg stopped talking when they noticed that the Ion Cookie Robots were still resetting. They sighed. “I guess we should talk about this another time…”

Cyborg Cookie stopped to think, think all by themselves quietly in the woods. Until… they got an idea. “Y’know, maybe I can still do something about that scientist. But I don’t want it to be too extreme. I could just take over from here and do everything for the Ion Cookie Robots now… but I also don’t want to overwork myself. So how will I do all that…?” Cyborg stopped themselves when looked at the Ion Cookie Robots, and then their arm cannon, then at their feet on the grass, all without saying a word. They then looked at the remains of Aloe Cookie’s lab from a distance, where the scientist resided. This then gave Cyborg Cookie an idea, they devilishly smiled as they started to fly away from the woods. “Tonight, I’ll put my plan into motion to get rid of that Cookie who brought me so much pain and misery!”
