Chapter Text
"Hey, Morgan?" Alex asked, walking into their bedroom holding the invitation to Morgan's sister's wedding.
Morgan looked up from the book they were reading already in bed, "Yeah?"
They watched Alex sit on the bed next to them," I think something is wrong with this invitation."
Morgan furrowed their brows, reaching for the paper, "What is it."
"The invitation says that the wedding is in December."
Morgan paused and looked up at their partner opening their mouth and closing it, trying to find too words to respond to... that.
"Excuse me?"
"It says the wedding is on December 15th. That's like, in the dead of winter." Alex said, completely serious.
Morgan blanched, "I'm sorry, I think I'm missing something. People have weddings in winter all the time."
Alex frowned. Now both of them were confused.
"I have literally never been to a winter wedding before," Alex said, "Is this some weird English custom?"
"I guess so..." Morgan said, amused now. How had their partner, who had traveled the earth, never been to an English wedding before?
"So, like, what even happens at a traditional English wedding?" Alex asked, getting on the bed next to Morgan.
"Well, there will be two sides of the groom's and the bride's family and guests, and at the front, probably on a platform or something, there will be the groomsmen who are gonna be some of Dave's close friends. Then music will play, and the flowergirl will walk down the aisle bridesmaids will walk down the aisle, followed by the bride. She takes her place across from the groom, and then the officiant performs the ceremony. Then they say their vows, exchange rings, and kiss," Morgan explained, giving a very basic rundown.
Alex squinted and nodded along, "So no swords?"
Morgan snorted, "No swords; that's a Norse custom."
"Oh, This wedding's going to be really boring." Alex scoffed.
"Yeah, probably."Morgan agreed, Alex leaning into their side, "But at least you'll get fuck with my parents."
"Hm... that does make it better." They said, smiling into Morgan's shoulder.
Morgan smiled and slid down to snuggle into their chest, "Good."
Alex kissed Morgan's forehead, "Goodnight, darling."
"Goodnight."Their partner mumbled. Alex raised a hand.
