Summary
Sirens attack the crew of the dreaded pirate ship, the Musain. They send out Enjolras to deal with it, as in the past, he’s proven himself to be unaffected by their song.
Unfortunately for him, as he’s told Grantaire many times, things can (and do) change. And this change may leave his life, and heart, in the balance.

Enjolras, left heaving in the aftershocks of coughing up sea water, can only stare, eyes wide as he takes in Grantaire all over again.
It’s like he’s seeing him for the first time. A second go at a first impression. He knows that Grantaire is the same as he’s always been, with his crooked nose and crooked mouth, his bearded face, and kind, olive green eyes.
They’re more afraid than Enjolras has ever seen them, right now. Wide, and wild, and so determined.
