Chapter Text
To say that Norris Benjamin Parker didn't have a wild year would be an understatement, not only did he learn that his mother was Spider-Woman, but also found out that the original Green Goblin, her greatest nemesis, was his grandfather… He still couldn't believe it, not only is he the son of one of New York's greatest heroes, but also to be the Grandson one of New York's fiercest villains!
That was still too much process even up to this day. but the Osborn family were known for their chilverish ways of being the Green Goblin. Starting from his late grandfather, Norman Osborn. he never met him, but what his mother told him is that he used to be the head CEO of that famous science industrie, Oscorp, who would do anything to achieve great power.
Apparently he had a creepy obsession with both his mother's alter ego and her civilian life, which led to a whole bunch of drama once he became the Green Goblin, from trying to kill her, to killing her friend, Gwen Stacy, the whole cloning thing, to murdering his Uncle Ben. His Grandfather was awful and to think he was once kidnapped by him when he was just a baby… He shuddered at the thought at the possibilities his Grandfather would have done to him if he wasn't rescued on time, he is a hundred percent possitive there wasn't going to be heartwarming moments between Grandpa and Grandson thats for sure.
He may have not remembered much about his father, Harry Osborn, he died when he was just barely four, but what he heard from his mother is that he was determined to do anything to avenge his Grandfather after he 'died' the first time around. by doing any means necessary to kill her, from setting up bounty hunts at her, or even taking on the Green Goblin mantle from his grandfather once he didn't get his way.
He had many mixed emotions of his father up until now, before then he would just view his deceased father as a caring loving man, but now he didn't know what to think. He ended up killing himself because he tried to murder his own mother once. All for a heartless man that barely cared about him and to make matters worse his mother still harvest feelings for him, even after doing all of that, the only reason his father cared for her was because all of the memory's of her being Spider-Woman were wiped off. Was their relationship even true love then?
Now, Normie seems to be the next one who took on the mantle of this crazy family, seeming to believe that his mother murdered both his grandfather and father. That wasn't true, his mother told him the complete truth. His grandfather ended up bombing himself with his pumkin bombs and his father ended up dying by the hands of his own serum. Even if he didn't want to believe his mother there's enough evidence that points out that she wouldn't murder them, she isn't the type to do such a thing and besides she loved his father she still mourns over him whenever she thinks he wasn't looking.
He debated whether to start visiting Normie, after all it's been a while since they last saw each other, but he doesn't think Normie will be all that thrilled if he suddenly shows his face in front of him. The last encounter they had wasn't exactly heartwarming… He'll think about how to deal with Normie later on.
Over time he took on the family biz on his mother's side of the family. Since taking on the mantle of his father's side of the family wouldn't exactly be a good option…
During the past year he became the one and only Spider-Boy… Yes, 'Spider-Boy', as much as he wanted so badly to be referred to as 'Spider-Man,' the media apparently didn't get the memo and he ended up being called 'Spider-Boy' instead.
But nothing that he has experienced the past twelve months could possibly prepare him for this startling sight.
It was a usual morning for him. He woke up, showered, brushed his teeth, combed his hair, ate breakfast and headed straight to Midtown High. He froze in the middle of the school's hallways, he couldn't believe what he was seeing in front of him!
Norris stared wide eyed agape at the scene.
Jimmy Yama, boy bookworm, total geek trading smooches with Heather Noble the hottest chick in school! What the actual fuck!
This must be some sort of nightmare, because there's no way the school loser can score the hottest girl right!?
He shook his head, spotting Davida and George who were huddled along with Annika and Courtney by the lockers, deciding to walk towards them.
"Do you guys see that!? Tell me you guys actually see this!?" He shrieked out once approaching them, pointing towards the direction where the two lovebirds were making out. "Heather Noble making out with Yama, with Yama! Has this school finally lost it!?"
"Oh don't be so melodramatic." Annika scoffs, out crossing her arms over her chest. "Your acting like the world is ending."
"Well it probably is, Heather and Yama making out, that's not normal!"
"Wait!" George's eyes widened."The world's ending?!"
"No it isn't George, like Annika said, Norris is just being melodramatic." Courtney reassured the ashy blond next to her, frowning. "Jimmy realllllllly cool but I'm surprised the air head appreciates him."
"Cool? Seriously? He's far from it." Norris scoffs out. "Besides, doesn't she date Athletes? What's she doing with a nerd like him?"
"She usually dates the whole team." Davida adds.
George nodded then thought for a second truthfully. "Maybe she ran out of athletes to date?"
"She ran out of athletes to date!? Are you kidding me right now?! She still hasn't dated me yet and you say she ran out of athletes to date?! Besides that, aren't you also part of the soccer team too!? That makes you an athlete as well! Don't tell me you dated her before I did!?"
"Well…" The ashy blond scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Maybe for like two months or so…"
"So you hooked up with her before?" Davida asked.
"Well yeah."
"How could you not tell me any of this before!?" Norris glared at his ashy blond friend who flinched.
"Leave him alone, Norris." Annika glared at the brunette in defense of her cousin. "George isn't compelled to tell you who he's dated before, it's his personal life not yours."
"But-!"
"But back to the main topic." Davida cuts off Norris ignoring the glare that was being sent to her, now looking at Jimmy and Heather who were coming their way. "Your boy may have hidden assets, girls… Or I'm thinking she's after his math homework."
"You are kidding me right?" Annika raised an eyebrow. "You got to be kidding me on this one."
"Think about it, Heather's not above using what she got to get what she wants."
"It sounds pretty Heatherish to me when you put it like that." George thought out loud.
"Hi everybody~!" Heather Noble waved happily to the group, her arms latched onto Jimmy Yama as they were passing by.
"See you guys in class!" Jimmy smirked smugly at the glare that was being sent by Norris. "Oh and Parker, don't feel bad, I'm sure you'll find your right match one day… or probably not you're not necessarily the type who'd hot babes want to date anyway."
"What did you just say!?".
"Quiet down well ya, no need to make a scene in the hallway." Annika scowled.
"Didn't you hear what he just said?! I won't stand him making a fool out of me!" He glared daggers towards the raven haired boy who was up ahead.
"Well you had it coming Norris, just think about all the times you had embarrassed Jimmy before." Courtney piped up, sending her own glare towards the brunnete.
"Hey! those times were funny, this was serious."
"Because the one being made fun of is you?" Davida smirked.
"Exactly." He frowned. "Still can't believe he managed to score a date with Heather… Heather!"
"As I said before, it's the math homework."
"I mean if a nerd can score the hottest babe then that means..." Norris eyes widened in realization before coming face to face with the blue eyed blond beside him. "Annika! you could finally date me without feeling ashamed of your low social status."
She raised an eyebrow. "What on earth are you going about this time?"
"It was obvious this whole entire time that you were just disguising your feelings for me under that prissy aggressive attitude of yours but in reality you're just shy to ask me out, you felt you weren't good enough for me." He chuckled.
"Excuse me!?" She yelled out furiously.
He shrugged off her comment, still continuing. "I can't blame you, after all, I'm charming, hot, got that rocking body, did I already mention hot. I would be scared of confessing to myself if I was in your shoes." A smile crosses his face. "But I could reassure you with your social outclassiness , geekiness, nerdiness, you could now confess all the love and desire you had in the world for me and maybe then I could accept your confession."
He frowned. "… If you fix that attitude of yours first. come on that scowl basically became a trademark of yours and what's up with your mood too? Everyday you seem to get more and more angrier. I know you love me but seriously, well it kill you to smile for once. No wonder no other guys in this school want to go out with you, there scared that you might murder them before they even get-"
Slap
"Ouch." George winced.
"More like unbearable and arrogant. You insolent bastard!" He groaned holding up his right hand towards the mark that the blond left on his cheek. Man It really stung, he wasn't expecting that and neither was his spider-sense. "Screw you Parker!"
Courtney gave him a sharp glare, proceeding to run after Annika down the hall right after.
"Real smooth, Romeo." Davida said trying to maintain her chuckling but failed. "You really swooped Juliet off her feet there."
"Oh shut up!" He barked back. Shrugging off the reassuring pat George gave him before walking away.
The rest of the school day passed without any incidents and he eventually decided to mosey over the police lab where his mother works.
He thought over the events that occurred recently, Yama getting a date with Heather, Annika being more moodier than usual with hitting him more constantly and to think these spider-senses would warn him when being attacked by the angry blond.
He felt his spider-sense suddenly triggered, once passing by two police officers, they looked ordinary enough, but why is he getting this feeling that there is something really dangerous about them. But what?
He ignored them and proceeded to walk further, but curiosity got the best of him. He turned around and casually started following them from behind.
He knew this wasn't his concern, just ignore them and mind his own business, but is he really the type of guy to follow that rule, of course not.
He turned to an ally once seeing the cops go in there. Feeling his spider-sense going overdrive this time, not from them but some sort of danger above. He hid behind one of the dumpster, taking out his spider suit from his bag and started slipping It on.
The suit was similar to Uncle Ben's that he managed to stitch up the past year. The reason why he took on his mother's mantle was because he managed to slip off one of his mothers web shooters a year ago without her noticing. Without them, Spider-Boy we'll be useless.
"Stand back, someone trailing us!" One of the police officers spoke up, pausing. Looking around the empty alley.
"A-Are you sure?!"
"Positive! My nose never lies and I just caught a good whiff of er."
'A 'whiff of er!' Are these officers even normal!?' He thought, slipping on his mask. 'Uh oh, danger twelve o'clock.'
He notices a fast blur pass by him, wasting no time he strikes the figure down landing a direct kick in there jaw before they could attack the authorities.
"Where are your manners sweetcheeks. Your parents should have taught more respect for New York's finest, after all they are the city's true heroes!"
"Is that Spider-Boy defending us?!"
"Pretty rich huh?!"
"Not again! For the last time It's Spider-... Forget it, why do I even bother anymore?"
According to the newspaper accounts he read, 'Wild Thing' as what those weird officers called her is actually the daughter of the legendary X-Man known as Wolverine, but isn't she supposed to be one of the good guys though?
He concluded that the most logical explanation is that either her reps are all wrong- or she's under alien influence(A common occurrence over the mutant set)- or maybe he just leaped to clicheville.
"I apologize for getting in your pretty face." He punched her straight in her jaw, sending her crashing through to the nearby crates. "...But I couldn't let you hurt those cops! Let's talk over this instead, maybe over dinner perhaps?-!"
He avoided her sharp psychic claws attack once she striked. "Sheesh a simple no would have done it."
"Fighting has its own rewards as far as I'm concerned. " Wild Thing spoke up. "And sorry to break it to you sweetheart but not interested in younger boys."
"It was worth a shot." He shrugged, bouncing in the air. "But what's the other stuff supposed to - oh I get it! You are into a lone berserker routine! Even though that trend died while Poggs were still hot!... Hey! maybe you should meet my friend, she has a lot in common with you, I'm sure you two will get along greatly!"
"Look who's giving fashion advice, a boy whose corny costume just screams sixties."
"It's a classic hot stuff." He winked from underneath his mask, fully webbing her up now.
"Nah! Just old like your dialogue!" She growled back. "Nice webs, but I'm guessing your still practically required to use em."
"I can sympathize.' She smirked. "My Family has a thing about claws! Mine may be psychic 'Stead'A Bone'r Adamantium~." She cuts through the webs. "But they still do job!"
"Course this brings up a potentially embarrassing question~!"
"Not only have you wounded my heart by rejecting my offer, but still continue to mock me further, don't you think you could cut me some slack? I'm still healing you know!"
"You, any relation, to the original web warrior?" She slammed her psychic claws to the tile of the brick wall, automatically lifting them up with her force and sending them crashing down to the boy's way. "Or are you just poaching her trademarks? Like the way American Dream rips off Captain America!"
"Can't say I have!" He replied back struggling to block the tiles that were sent his way. "By the way if you wanted me off this wall, you could have just said so! There was no reason to demolish it!"
"Oh crap!" He found the pressure of the tiles getting the best of him, he needed to act fast or this spider well be squashed.
"Spider-Boy falling, he'll be buried beneath all the debris!" The male officer growled. "Maybe I should-"
He was about to make a move to approach the fight but a hand from the female cop paused him. "Wait! You must underestimate him!"
"Yo Spidey!" Wild Thing called out, walking towards the rubble the boy was buried in. "Are you still awake under this mess? C'mon sing out!" She pulled out her claws from her wrist, and started to swipe through the tiles. "Otherwise I'm going to think you are a little wimp who can't-" She found herself pausing once she dug up through the miss only to find a giant cocoon over it. "Whoa! This is not what I was expecting!"
"Did my web-cocoon startled you!?" He popped up from the envelope of the web and landed a good punch directly in her face. "Good, you were starting to get too cocky beautiful!"
She flies like an arrow, smashing through the convenient window and into the nearby building, He smirks underneath his mask, he scored the win in this fight.
But frowned once realizing there was unanswered questions. He looked directly at the cops once approaching them. "You guys mind telling me what was that all about? And uhhh, how come you didn't call for backup?"
"Back up? that's a laugh!"
"I'm afraid you are under a slight misconception." The woman's officer spoke up with a devilish smirk on her face. "You see we're not real cops."
He took a step back from them, his spider-sense going off. Suddenly the two were shifted into some sort of pink blob, transforming on what he guesses their real forms? the male turning into some green like rip off of version Hulk and the female basically looking the same just losing the uniform with very strange purple hair tied behind her back.
"My name is Saberclaw!"
"And I'm Enthralla, the mutant mistress of illusion!"
They announced themself wasting no time on launching themselves to attack.
He should have trusted his spider-sense better. He silently recited in his mind… Oh well you live and you learn.
He acted fast in instinct, finding himself pouncing over Saberclaw and a swift kick to Enthralla, making the first strike against them.
His spider-sense suddenly warned him of the incoming attack from Saberclaw and managed to avoid it in the nick of time. "Boy I hate playing the stereotype but by any chance this fight may also be a misunderstanding."
"Shuddup!' He screeched out, swiping his claws out to the spandex wearing young lad.
"Nope, didn't think so." He said, jumping out the way.
"Things were starting to t'go real good Fer me until you and Rina showed up!" He growled out at the boy, finally landing a huge cut behind the spandex wearing lad back.
Slash
"And I ain't the forgiving type!"
Spider-Boy cried out in pain once feeling a sharp claw being slashed through his suit to his skin, dropping to the ground he clutched onto the wound behind his back, holding onto pain tightly.
"Surprised ya! Didn't I!? I'm a lot faster than I look." Saberclaw chuckled down cruelly at the boy. "Deadlier too! But it ain't a lesson that'll do ya much good!"
Lifting up his claws he was about to proceed to finish the Web-Swinger off once and for all, but to his suprise he was stopped once feeling another set of claws beneath his hand stopping him from proceeding.
"On the contrary knowledge is always its own reward!"
"Rina!"
"How's itsa going Big brother?" Wild Thing grined up at Saberclaw.
"I thought the brat totaled ya!"
"I'll bet you also believe in Santa Claus." Wild Thing threw a punch through her half brother's jaw line."And the value of variant covers in comic books."
"I hate to sound like a geek, But I could use a little exposition at this point." Spider-Boy spoke up.
"My brother's behind bars with the recent issue with the new Avengers." Sha said, giving a hand to the boy.
"Yeah, I heard about that and I thought I was the only hero with an older brother who's gone bonkers." Accepting her offer.
She looked at him for a second before shrugging. "I got tipped that Enthralla was gonna spring 'Im." She smirked. "Her illusions didn't fool my Enhanced senses! And I assumed you were with them who attacked me!"
Spider-Boy groaned, clutching onto his back, once fully getting up, the pain was still throbbing in him.
"Oh sure like I knew you'd bring that up." He sarcastically replied.
"Not my fault that you're a dimwit."
He was about to restort back, but suddenly his Spider-sense went off, turning around and saw anger Saberclaw standing right in front of them.
"If ya think yer could take me down that easily then ya have another thing coming!"
"Man, you're annoying, aren't you big guy?"" Spider-Boy said. "Can't you learn to stay down for once." He grined at Wild Thing. "Hey, you up for a little two on one babe?"
"Not a bad idea, let's go for it!"
Before Saberclaw knew it, he was struck with two swift punches right in his jaw. Knocking him out.
"Ouch." The Web-Swinger groaned, holding onto his hand that was throbbing in pain. "I think I busted my knuckle! What the hell is this guy made of?! Titanium! Seriously not normal."
"And this is coming from a little boy who dresses up like a rip off version of the original Spider, who shoots actual spider-webs off his wrist?"
"Well in my defense my flesh is a hundred percent natural."
"My my Isn't this cozy."
His spider-sense went off at the familiar voice from earlier, it looks like they weren't done yet. Standing right in front of them was Enthralla.
"Did we wake you?"
"I truly hope the both of you enjoyed your all -too- fleeting victory, such a pity it couldn't last." She shook her head, started barking out in laughter. "You both fell under my mesmerized powers the instant we made eye contact. I could now make anything I choose and believe anything I wish."
"What will cause the greatest pain?"
"Oh! Oh! I know, pick me! pick me!" He brightened up raising his hand childishly like a school boy. "Every Ice cream parlor going out of business, because I know I can't survive without ice cream around! That's the greatest pain I could ever imagine!"
Wild Thing raised an eyebrow at him.
"What? Ice cream is the best, so sue me!" He glared at her, grumbling. "Don't act like you won't be affected if every Ice cream shop around the world starts shutting down."
"Instead, how about fighting to the death or the slaughter of innocent bystanders!" Enthralla said as her eyes started to flash red. "There are so many delicious possibilities but I think–" She froze. "... I'll just surrender!"
"Huh!? That's it?! Where's the pizzazz?! The emotion?! The action?!" He yelled out in shock, before a smirk formed underneath his mask. "... I knew that even cold heartless villains wouldn't have it in them to destroy every ice cream business around the planet, no one can survive without Ice cream around. " He turned to the heroine next to him. "I don't want to be the one who said I told you so… But I told you so."
"No you dimwit is-!"
"Psilord! Oh gosh!" Spider-Boy squealed out once recognizing a particular member of those flashy gettups from the Fantastic Five.
"Good choice." The Blond hero responds to the defeated mistress of illusion.
Word of the F5 presences and he soon finds himself in the middle of the media event… Great wait until his mother hears about this.
"Why did the police ring you guys when they noticed Saberclaw's absence?" He asked his Idol, Franklin Richards or otherwise known as Psilord, they could have easily contacted the New Avenger guys to stop this mess from happening. Saberclaw wasn't that hard to take down. He is sure he would have taken down Enthralla If they didn't interfere. "... I mean not that I'm complaining or anything."
Franklin Richards nodded. His fan girls calling out behind him from right around the corner.
"I guess they have more faith in us than those new avengers."
"Of course they would have more faith, you guys are The Fantastic Five, world greatest heroes, Especially with you on the team, who wouldn't want to call- - -Hey!" The web swinger gushing was put on hold once he was rudely shoved to the side by Wild Thing.
"You are Franklin Richards right? I've had a Psilord poster in my bed ever since I was a kid!" She latched herself into the blond arms, catching him off guard, dragging him off. "You and I have so much in common."
"W-We do?"
"We both grew up in super teams and have these really cool psychic claws."
"S'funny I rarely use my psi powers to form solid objects."
Spider-Boy stood there frozen in shock for about a good minute, t-that hussy! How dare she ruin a rare special moment between his Idol and him, he'll take her rejection, he'll take her insults, but he won't tolerate taking away his hero from him.
"H-Hey y-you H-Hussy, what do you think you're doing! You can't take him away from me like that!" He yelled out, shooting to the nearest building to start web swinging them down. ignoring the pain of his freshly opened wound behind his back. "I bet you aren't a real fan like I am, you may have a Psilord poster. Well I have more than that, even the limited edition ones too! From even music albums! did you know he's in a band!? I even have the entire damn action figure set, comics, movies! pajamas! slippers! You name it! How dare you take the great Psilord away from me! Come back here with my idol!"
Norris whistled cheerfully walking up to his locker the next day at school. His back wound fully healed thanks to his amazing spider-like abilities. After yesterdays takeoff he managed to track down and cornered Franklin to give him more autographs, and to Wild Thing pleasure, he had many items he had Franklin sign while bombering him with multiple questions. While also trying to control his inner fan-boying but failing miserably, but hey it's not everyday you get to encounter your favorite member of the Fantastic Five, especially with having a one on one conversation with the one and only Psilord.
"Yama!" He paused once seeing Jimmy slouched up in his locker, deciding to walk towards the depressed boy. "I take it Heather dumped you didn't she?"
"Go ahead, rub it in," Jimmy said. "Everybody else is having a good laugh at my expense."
"Since I'm in such a good mood today Yama I'll let this one slide." He smiled at the boy before patting him in the back. "Besides, everyone seems to be doing the job for me."
"You sure do know how to cheer up a person, Parker." Jimmy replied sarcastically.
"Well I do the best I can." He chuckled "So maybe things went sour. Who knows they might have worked out."
"The second she finished copying my math homework… I feel like a total chump." He frowned. "I should have been suspicious from the very start. Should've known she was using me."
"Well appearance can be deceiving you know, look at Annika for example. She may look sweet and kind, but in reality she won't hesitate to rip your hand off." He said with a smile before swinging his arm over Jimmy's shoulder. "Hey it's free period right now, How about we go get Ice cream to cheer you up, my treat."
"W-Why are you being so nice to me all of sudden?" The raven haired boy raised an eyebrow, a look of uncertainty crossing his face. "I thought you hated me."
"I still do. Don't get the wrong Idea, Yama." He scoffs, before smirking. "I'm just feeling pity for you today, that's all… And besides I may also need a tutor to help me out with a math test coming up… Annika is pretty mad at me at the moment."
"Geez, I wonder why?"
"Don't start getting snarky with me." He restorts back this time. "You're lucky that I'm in a good mood, or else I would have stuffed you in a locker right about now. So are you going to help me or not?"
"... Fine."
"Great." His mood brightened.
"It isn't like I have a choice." Jimmy grumbled.
"Don't say it like that." He smiled in response. Walking alongside the raven haired boy as they proceed to reach the school's exit. "Think of it as me helping you get over Heather with ice cream and you helping me ace this exam coming up, it's a win-win for both of us."
