A Gassy Encounter

Summary:

When the author of this fic plays WarioWare on their Switch after a hiatus after having a newfound interest in Young Cricket, they notice him being slightly... stinky.
(Written by the same author who wrote the only other Young Cricket gas fic on the site... for now...)

Notes:

This one's kinda short, but I hope you enjoy... or not.

Work Text:

During school, I couldn’t stop thinking about Young Cricket. There was just something… about him that made me crush on him more and more over the past few weeks. About 2 hours before school got out, I planned to go home and play WarioWare, Get it Together on my Switch. My left joystick was fairly drifty, and I haven’t played the game in a few months, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to see Young Cricket in action again. It was a Friday, so it wasn’t like I was going to bed early that night.

I was looking at Young Cricket pics the whole bus ride home. I was just that excited to see him again. When I got home, I grabbed my headphones, plugged them into my Switch, and flopped down on the couch. I’d usually grab my laptop first, but my mind was so filled by that WarioWare character that I didn’t even notice it. My Switch’s battery was at 88%, so I had a good amount of time to spend with my crew, especially Young Cricket. That’s when I noticed that I didn’t even pop in the game card. Groaning, I got up and grabbed Splatoon 2’s game box from the same side table that I got my Switch from. That’s where I hid my WarioWare: Get it Together game card.

Popping in the WarioWare game card, I could hear that ‘thwoop’ sound that the Switch makes whenever a new game is inserted. I pressed the A button to start the game. It loaded for about 15 seconds, then started to show the intro, which I skipped. When the title screen came up, I was excited, and my heart was beating fast knowing who I was gonna play as. I went to the Crew menu to check Young Cricket’s level, seeing that it was a bit low. He was at level 29, but nearly at level 30. I wanted to get some Prezzys (Prezzies? Prezzys? Not sure how to make the official term plural…) in order to raise his level. Thankfully, I had some coins left from the last time I played, so I used them to get 10 random Prezzys twice. I managed to get some things that he liked, such as a few dumplings and some Japanese curry. It was all food, though. Hopefully it wouldn’t interfere with how he played.

When I gave him the food, he said his usual “Woah, what an honor!” and “That is very generous!” lines. I’ve always thought that the same lines for each Prezzy level was a bit annoying, but it was nice to hear Young Cricket’s voice, which I thought was a bit hotter than his voice in WarioWare Gold. And then… BOOM! He leveled up. I decided to do one of the Wario Cups in order for him to strut his stuff, picking the one that was currently going on. While I was playing, however, I could hear slight gurgling noises while playing with Young Cricket. I picked a few other characters to rotate through, like 9-Volt and Ashley, but the gurgling noises only happened while I was playing as Young Cricket. I just dismissed it as my gut and kept playing until I had no lives. It turns out that I’ve gotten the B rank after just one playthrough. Nice.

After finishing the Wario Cup, I decided to go back to the Crew menu to play around with Young Cricket a bit more. I selected him, but when I got to his little menu, I heard more of that gurgling that I heard earlier, but a bit louder and clearer. Then, I saw him put his arms around his tummy. I didn’t remember this being one of Young Cricket’s animations. Maybe I had a special copy? I kept watching him being in some sort of pain, with little balls of cartoony looking sweat running down the side of his face. I watched as more sweat rolled down his face, with him slightly trembling. He had an uncomfortable look on his face, and I could hear slight grunting noises along with the same gurgling. It seemed like he was either still hungry, or he needed to use the bathroom. I just hoped that there were some hidden toilets in the game for him to do his business whenever I’m not playing. He just looked uncomfortable, until…

FART!!!

Young Cricket just ripped a fairly big one right in front of me. I could even see the gas come out of him, with it being a yellow-ish color like when Wario farts in the “Wario Interrupts” mode in WarioWare Gold. However, it had a slightly greener color, so I assumed that his gas was a bit stinkier than even the most notorious farter in gaming history. It turns out that the dumplings and curry gave him a bit of gas, and it was building up while I played as him. He then switched to his ‘defeat’ pose, beginning to speak.

“I…. I’m sorry, player. I- I couldn’t hold it in any longer….”
I have never heard him speak this line in the game before. I just assumed that it was a very rare occurrence. I just wanted to reach out and hug him, saying that I get fairly gassy too, but I didn't want to smell his gas. I decided to press my finger against the screen where Young Cricket’s tummy was, not really expecting anything since the game didn’t use touch controls. But, to my surprise, he farted again, with his pose switching so that he now stood up with his arms out, looking at his tummy.

“Eh?”

He seemed confused. Why was someone putting more pressure on his tummy so that more gas would come out?

I continued to push on his tummy with my finger, rubbing it on there like I was massaging it. This caused him to fart even more, with there being a faint yellowish-green color behind him due to all of his farting. In all honesty, I thought this was quite hot, since I’ve been making fart pics and fics out of him, and I finally get to see him fart in-game. I kept massaging his tummy with my finger until his farting turned into a sputter, then a long hiss, then nothing. He sighed, knowing that every bit of his gas was now out of his body. I could have sworn that most of it was hidden in his tummy since the first time I played the game a couple months after it first came out. I heard the ‘bing-bing’ noise that played whenever a character was alerted in the story mode, then Young Cricket began a looping animation of him plugging his nose and fanning his face, which caused me to slightly giggle. That yellowish-green gas that was still in the air was now starting to make its way to the front of his body and in front of his face. I whispered “I’m glad that you feel better” to him, not expecting him to hear me, since the Switch doesn’t have a microphone feature like the later DSes. To my surprise, he responded.

“Thanks for that, but it stinks really bad in here.”

I started to blush. I thought that he was just a character with a set amount of lines in a somewhat obscure game, but it turns out that he was sentient! I wasn’t sure how he was responding to me. How many lines did his voice actor record? I decided to reply to him.

“Might wanna turn on a fan.”

He slightly chuckled at that line. “You’re right, but don’t see any here.”

“Let’s just hope that the others don’t smell it.”
“We all have our own separate menus, so I doubt it.”
“Let’s just keep this moment between us.”
“Haha, ok. I just gotta find a way to get rid of this smell…”

I would have loved to talk with him more, but I heard my mom say that I needed to run some errands with her. I exited the game and grabbed my purse. I knew that I was never gonna forget that interaction that I had with Young Cricket, even if I didn’t record it. To know that I’ve been thinking about him farting and to finally catch him doing it… I thought it was special. I hope that I’ll help him with farting again.
