Kirishima had been relaxing, watching tv with a bowl of popcorn in his lap, when it happened.
He had clutched his popcorn closer as the house began to shake, eyes wide at the whistling sound piercing his ears followed by a deafening crash. He shot up, running to the window, leaving the tv on, like a laugh-track for his life. Kirishima looked out, tensed, and his eyes bugged as his gaze landed on the smoke rising from his backyard. He could hear his dog barking, staying on the balcony snarling. Kirishima rushed out beside her, rubbing her head gently as he strained his eyes to try to see what had landed in his yard, splitting several trees in half and starting a minor grass fire.
He grabbed his phone, but hesitated to call 911, wanting to investigate further. If it was just space junk, he didn’t want to waste the firefighters time putting out a small fire when he could do it himself.
So he ran out, his dog Riot at his side, and got his hose, running over and dousing the fire that spread around the crash site. He ignored the heat on his skin, frowning when the water tinged against something. He dropped the hose as the last flames licked the sky before vanishing. The smoke began to clear.
Kirishima froze.
Sleek, smooth black material, some sort of… crystallized…metal? It slides into silver seamlessly, and Kirishima stares at it, wonder filling him.
This… wasn’t space junk.
He walked around it, running his hands over the surface. The texture was odd. It was solid, and smooth, but he swore he could feel his hands sinking into the dark material. He circled the… ship? But there was no entrance, nothing carved in even resembling a door. Kirishima stared at it, confused, before it began to shake. He pulled back quickly, running to Riots side where she snarled, hackles raised, and pulled her behind him.
“Hey, it’s okay girl, it’s okay.”
And then the shaking stopped, and Kirishima stepped forward, reaching up with a goosebump covered arm to touch where the ship was now humming. And it opened. It cracked like an egg, jagged, falling from hidden, gravity defying hinges. Kirishima gasped, but didn’t pull back, eyes searching the seemingly empty interior.
And then suddenly it wasn’t empty anymore.
Something flashed in the dark, and suddenly Kirishima was on his back, something pressed against him, face pushed sideways into the dirt. He lets out a yell.
“Hey!” Kirishima’s hands fly up and are immediately pushed back down. He bucks up, and knocks whatever’s holding him down off, getting up and turning to run. It grabs him again, and he falls down onto his stomach now, grunting as the air was knocked out of him. “Shit, shit, what the fuck?”
And then he hears a snarl, and the thing on top of him goes flying off. He turns to see Riot slamming into it. Kirishima stands up, and runs to the house, grabbing a knife from his kitchen and running back out. He calls riot to him, running across the field, and the dog darts over from the area, panting. Kirishima slows, staring into the tall, singed grass. Whatever had come out of that ship was in there.
“Hey! Who’s there!” Silence. He inches forward, and the grass closest to him rustles. He whips over to it, clenching the weapon tighter, and growls. Suddenly, the bushes chirp, and something crawls out, baring sharp, long teeth. Kirishima drops the knife out of surprise, and the creature stops, staring at him suspiciously.
Kirishima would have thought it human, if not for the sharp edges branching from its torso, orange feathers pluming out over joints, on its shoulders, elbows, chest, and trailing down into the… pants…? It wore. It’s silhouette was humanoid, ridges coming out of its body along its spine, almost reptilian. But it’s expressions were of a human man. A very attractive human man, and it was muscular, pecs and abs sharp, almost looking plated. Kirishimas eyes trail over it, taking in the spiky blond hair framing slanted red eyes, interrupted by elf like ears. His jaw dropped.
“Holy shit. Alien. That’s an alien.” The creature clicked, adjusting its position to copy the way Kirishima stood, and inches forward a little. Kirishima stepped back quickly, putting his hands in front of protectively. The alien copies that motion too. Kirishima stares at it, confused, and it tilts it head, standing a bit straighter, no longer baring it’s teeth.
Kirishima doesn’t know why, but he steps closer. The alien tenses, and the redhead crouches to make himself smaller, offering a shy smile. The creatures mouth twitches, but it doesn’t smile back.
“I’m not gonna hurt you.” It doesn’t move. Kirishima doubts it can understand him, but he steps back. Suddenly, the alien rushes forward and slams their foreheads together. Kirishima yelps, and tried to pull away, but fuck, it’s so strong. He freezes as something suddenly feels wrong. It’s like there’s something in his mind, pushing around in there, threading through his memories. It lets go only five seconds later, and scowls- a new expression. Kirishima feels uneasy, odd on the aliens face.
And then It speaks.
“Fucking…. Crashed.” Kirishima raises an eyebrow, jaw dropping, and then laughs, shocked. Out of all the words it could use- its first words- it used a swear.
“Holy shit, how are you speaking.” It take as second to respond, as if trying to understand the words, before shaking its head
“Mmm. Mind reading.” Kirishima nods. No wonder it sounds so articulate. It literally gained the knowledge directly from Kirishimas memory- taking in every word he or people he had talked to had said. Honestly, he was impressed. And a little embarrassed, considering the alien had also learned facial expressions. If he could learn all that, what else could he have gotten from Kirishima? He pulls himself from his thoughts, meeting the aliens eyes.
“Okay, yeah. I’m not going to hurt you.” The alien rolls it’s eyes, and it’s honestly, really adorable.
“I know. Too weak.” Kirishima blanches.
“Hey man! No fair, you scared me!” And it laughs. But it’s more chirps than anything, and it’s such an odd sound that Kirishima just stares. It stops, suddenly looking insecure at his reaction, and then it glares at him with piercing red eyes.
“You. Where am I?” Kirishima looks at his, distracted by the deep, elegant curve of his voice- it sounded and appeared male, and it was so hard to call him an it when he talked to him like that- and quickly snaps back when the alien growls.
“Ah, this is my home. We’re out in the countryside. Er… outside of a human settlement.”
“I know what a fucking city is. I read your memory.” He language was slowly improving, as well as the gestures he made, and Kirishima chuckles, even if his gut twists at the reminder that the alien had read him memory.
“Ah… yeah.”
“Who are you?” Kirishima blinks, and then raises an eyebrow.
“What? Didn’t get that from my memory?” The alien snorts, and looks at the ground.
“Too many names. You have a shit memory.” Kirishima giggles, and the blond looks at him curiously, mimicking the sound under his breath before seeming to decide he didn’t like it, wrinkling his nose. Kirishima sighs.
“Okay, yeah. Kirishima Eijirou. You have to tell me yours as well, as common courtesy. It’s a human thing.” The alien scowled, but nodded in agreement.
“B… I don’t know how to translate well… here.” And it walks closer, touching their foreheads again. But this time, instead of the searching, Kirishima feels a idea push into his head instead. It starts as clicks, but Kirishima listens in wonder as the clicks mold into some form of a language he understands.
“Whoa…” And he pulls back, grins, and offers a hand to the alien. “It’s nice to meet you, Bakugo Katsuki.”
“Bakugo Katsuki. That’s it?” Kirishima nods, and the alien- Bakugo- smirks. It’s unfairly attractive, considering he’s a literal fucking alien that had landed in his backyard. They stare at eachother for a few more moments before Kirishima smiles.
“Do you wanna come in? We can figure out what exactly is going on.” And he nods, following Kirishima into the house.

“So, you’re saying that you were sent out on a mission to blow up an asteroid hurtling towards your planet, and it ended up knocking you off course, sending you flying towards Earth?”
Bakugo nods, standing next to the couch and glaring at it suspiciously.
“Yes. Fucking ships broken now, and it’ll take at least a month to… fix? Fax?”
“Fix.”
“Fix. Until then, I rrrrm stuck.”
“Am.”
“Fuck off.” Kirishima giggled.
“Whatever dude. You can stay here if you want?” Bakugo freezes, and then flushed. Kirishima was dazzled by the expression, watching as the grumpy alien (he found it hilarious how sarcastic an alien could be) turned red.
“That would work.”
And that’s how Kirishima got an alien roommate.
Bakugo was actually an oddly fun…. Creature, to be around. He adapted to earth surprisingly quick, asking questions whenever he was confused, even if Kirishima could tell he hated not knowing the answer. He cleaned up after himself (and not just food- the alien shedded feathers… everywhere.), and he helped around the farm. Riot betrayed Kirishima, cuddling with Bakugo every chance she got.
But overall, he was a good roommate.
Sure, he made Kirishimas insides twist everytime he would flash the redhead a smirk, and Kirishima’s heart would sink everytime the alien wandered out to tinker with his spacecraft, reminding Kirishima of the deadline on their friendship. And sure, the human wanted to kiss Bakugo, and never let him go, and he hated himself for the way he reacted to the aliens side profile-
But he was a good roommate.
Kirishima was dreading the day the spacecraft was finished, and Bakugo would return, knowing it was coming soon, the blond perking up. And two weeks had gone by, Kirishima constantly frowning. Bakugo had noticed, trying to inquire angrily, visibly uncomfortable. Kirishima would brush him off with a hand on the shoulder, pretending he didn’t notice the way the alien would melt into his touch.
They got touchier, Bakugo going as far as sitting down in his lap as they watched tv, acting oblivious to the fact that he had maybe learned that it was a romantic act. He never told Kirishima that he had been watching the disgusting romances that would play late at night, after Kirishima had fallen asleep- learning from them. Bakugo would just smirk as he tried everything the characters did, pleased at the way Kirishima would fluster and go brain dead. His human was adorable.
And then the month was coming to an end, and Bakugo knew he had to leave soon. The spacecraft had been fixed for over a week, but he had been unable to leave Kirishimas side, addicted to his bright smile and sparkling eyes. Finally though, he realized that he was getting too attached. And so he told Kirishima. Told the human that he would be leaving in a few days, and watched as the redhead shook, plastering a face smile on his face, and pretended to be happy for him. It broke his heart, and he had to look away from the miserable expression Kirishima had.
So he loaded up into his ship, and held back tears- something that had begun to come to him naturally after he had absorbed human culture- and offered Kirishima one last wave and smile.
“Thank you, Shitty Hair.” The human didn’t even try to hold in his tear, letting them roll freely down his cheeks, dropping onto the dirt around him.
“I’m gonna miss you, Bakugo.” And the alien smiled, genuine, and stepped forward, kissing his forehead.
“I’ll miss you too, Eijirou.” He stepped into his pod, waving, and didn’t look back, letting it seal behind him. Finally, he let himself cry, biting his lip angrily and punching one ridged hand against the side of his ship, grunting at the way it molded around his hand tenderly, soothing it. He turned back to his house, moving inside and hunching against the door, mind rushing. Suddenly, he froze, and his heart leapt as an idea came to him. He grabbed paper and scribbled on it quickly before slamming it down on the counter and sprinting back outside. He wasn’t going to let this happen. He watched the ship close between him and Bakugo.
Fuck. Fuck fuck fu-
“Katsuki wait!”
The ship cracked open without Bakugo ordering it to, and he whipped around to see Kirishima standing there, bag in hand and dog curled at his feet. His eyes shon with determination, and suddenly the alien felt safe again.
“I’m coming with you.” Bakugo blanched.
“You can’t- we don’t know how my people would react to a human-“
“- I don’t care. I’d rather go with you and die than stay here and think of what could have been.” And it’s such a strong statement, voice filled with total confidence and assurance, that Bakugo does what he had seen on tv a million times. He pressed their lips together and immediately melted, suddenly understanding why humans liked it so much. Feeing the redheads heat, pulling him closer so they fit like a jigsaw puzzle, letting their lips talk for them- in a different way than normal. It was perfect. Kirishima made a surprised noise before a rumbling began to rise from Bakugo’s throat, deep and satisfied, and they pulled back, giggling. Bakugo pressed their foreheads together, and was overwhelmed by warmth, and something that brought tears to his eyes and made him want to kiss Kirishima again. He didn’t know what to call it, but it overwhelmed him, flowing through his veins and making him feel like he was on cloud nine. He pushed it back, grinning, and Kirishima gasped before laughing, throaty and kind.
“I love you, Katsuki.” And he knew that word. It clicked, and he realized that the warmth was just that- love. He hugged the human into him.
“Love you too.” Kirishima pulled away, holding his hands, and met his eyes.
“Does this mean I can go with you?”
Bakugo smirks, and rolls his eyes before meeting the humans warm, genuine eyes and letting his smirk soften into a smile.
“Yeah, Eijirou. Wouldn’t have it any other way.”
————————
Kaminari had been playing Pokémon go on his phone when he had heard the barking.
Riot was at his door, tail wagging and tongue lolling out of her mouth. Kirishima was nowhere to be seen.
“Hey girl, where’s your owner?” He ran into the house to grab the leash he always had whenever Kirishima would bring the dog over, clipping it onto riot and beginning the walk down to Kirishima’s house.
When he finally arrived, the door was locked, and everything seemed okay. Riot was following him, still bouncing along, tail wagging, so Kaminari didn’t hesitate take the extra key out from under a loose board on Kirishima’s deck, unlocking the door and stepping in. His eyes zeroed in on a piece of paper half hazardously stuck onto the side of the table. Kaminari inched into the house, picking it up and reading it. He snorted.
Hey!
I have to assume the first person who reads this is gonna be Kaminari. Hey bro! If it’s not him, please bring this note to him, thank you!
Hey dude! There’s a long story to tell, but I’ll try to shorten it. I found this alien, pretty cool dude, very attractive. Bakugo- that’s his name- has been staying with me for a decent while. He’s about to leave and go back home, but I kind of fell in love with him so I’m gonna try to see if I can go with him. If he doesn’t let me… I guess I’ll come in and remove the note. But if you’re reading this, I’m in space dude! I’ll probably see if I can come home sometime soon, but while I’m gone…
This is where you come in. Riot understands what’s going on, she’s a smart girl, but she can’t live alone. Denki, my best bro, my homie, will you be the best godfather and uncle ever and take care of Riot until I return? Thanks!
Kaminari dropped the note blankly, before thinking back to the loud crash he had heard what felt like centuries ago. Kirishima had told him it was farm equipment malfunctioning. Now he not so sure…
He turned to look at Riot, wagging her tail and grinning at him dopily. Kaminari stepped forward and scratched her head, smiling as she nuzzled into him.
“Looks like you’ll be staying with me for a little bit, huh girl?”
