Izuku’s vision was blurry when he cracked his eyes open.
At first, he thought it was just because he was just waking up so his eyes would still be glazed over with sleep. But when he reached up to rub the sleep out of his eyes… Izuku realized he couldn't move .
His eyes snapped open then, clearing up slightly as he frantically scanned his surroundings.
Izuku didnt really remember much of what had happened before he blacked out. But the only things that came to mind were blurry images of him and two others fighting off a villain… but otherwise he couldn't come up with anything coherent.
He didnt really get the chance to analyze or figure out much more about where he was, the door directly across from Izuku swinging open.
And everything comes flooding back when he comes face to face with the Hero Killer Stain.
Everything comes back about how he had found Iida fighting the villain, how his friend had been on the verge of death, how Izuku hadn't hesitated to rush in and save him, and how Todoroki had come rushing to their aid.
But after they had apprehended the villain and were walking about the alleyway, prepared to let him be handled by the pros, a Nomu had swept down, capturing Izuku in its sharp claws. Piercing his skin painfully.
Izuku honestly couldn't recall much of what had happened after that other than blurry flashes of freefalling and suddenly being grabbed and taken off somewhere. But after that… everything was black.
“I-” Izuku chokes out, eye’s frantically looking anywhere but the lumbering villain in front of him. “Where am I?” He manages to get out, if he could move Izuku would most definitely be shaking.
Stain stared at Izuku, blood-red eyes piercing right through Izuku. “I brought you back to my base.” was the monotone response Izuku ended up getting. One that made him feel like he was going to be sick.
“I- Why?” Is the only thing he manages to get out, his throat so tight it was a war and a half to get those few short words out.
“Because,” Stain said, eyes almost
glowing
as he looked down at Izuku’s frozen form. “You’re the only hero left with any potential to be good. So I’ve decided to help you cultivate that.”
Something caught in Izuku’s throat at that, his eyes going impossibly wide. “What? No- no you can't mean that. There are so many good heroes! And I can’t just
stay here
, I need to get back to UA, to my family and friends- I can't just
stay here
”
Stain doesn't seem at all phased by Izuku’s mini-rant, simply staring at him blankly as a small, cruel smirk makes its way onto the villain's face.
“You see little hero,” He says, leaning forward as the smirk grows wider on his mouth. “You don't get a choice in this matter. After all” he says, gesturing to the wall, where a broadcast of the incident begins playing. “No one is coming to save you.”
Izuku swallows thickly, tearing his eyes away from the broadcast. Tears prick up in the corner of his eyes. “I don't believe you.” He says stiffly, forcing himself to make eye contact with Stain. Unmoveable steel behind his green eyes as he does so.
“You don't need to believe me heroling,” Stain purrs, spinning on his heel as he begins to walk back towards the door. “You simply need to behave and I’ll make you the best hero you can be. Doesn't matter what those
fakes
have to do about it.”
Izuku feels a rush of rage flood him, granting him movement again as he shoots up to his feet. “You’ll
never
make anything out of me.” he hisses at the villain who whirls to stare at Izuku in shock before a cold smile takes over his face.
“Oh, I think I will heroling” Stain drawls, pulling out a vile from his jacket, “Because if you don't listen to me there will be consequences” and before Izuku got a chance to react, Stain lets a drop of whatever was in the vile touch his tongue, and Izuku is frozen back in place, causing him to fall to his knees.
“I won't-” Izuku chokes out, glaring up at the villain. “You won't get away with this.”
Stain simply smirks back at Izuku, turning on his heel once again. “I think I will. After all, no one is going to save you, little hero.”
And with that, the door is closed shut behind him. Leaving Izuku withering on the floor. Unable to move.
He knew that he couldn't believe the villain, that he was likely just lying to Izuku’s face, that someone was going to look for him.
But he couldn't help but let the little spark of hope of being saved flicker out once the 6-month mark passed, then by the time a year passed, he had completely given up.
They had left him to the wolves, so Izuku would become one.
