Chapter Text
Technically, only a third of this was her fault. Yes, she would admit she had killed her father but her mother and sister were not even remotely her cause. In fact, it was the fault of her father and his dramatic psychotic break. Of course though, when the cops reported to a call about gunshots and barged into a room with three dead bodies and one girl holding a gun, the blame was all placed on her. At this point in time, Kaya was still fueled by pure shock and adrenaline. She must have dropped the gun at some point, or it just flew when she got tackled to the ground by one of the fatass cops. Everything was slightly blurry, leaving her to later question if she even tried to explain her side. Not like it would have been much use. It still would have left her sitting in the same jail cell. In all honesty, Kaya had little hope for anything going her way with this. Though he had recently gone way off the rails, her father was a long serving cop in their community. He was careful to keep the outbursts and fights private. Publicly, he was a good cop that had just tragically lost his life. Kaya would be punished either way this case went. Either she goes to prison for god knows how long, or she’s put in some foster care system where this story of “suspected” murder will follow her everywhere.
To keep it short, there was no way she was going to win this case. There was no evidence to back up her side and in all honesty, prison was probably the better option. She plead guilty, meaning three cases of first degree murder and something like two life sentences with no chance of parole. So off she went, destined for the rest of her life to be spent in prison. Lock Ridge prison apparently, which was a bit of a surprise. The place was for notorious criminals, like complete serial killers. Technically her suspected crime was bad, but was it really this bad. Seemed a bit off. Of course, it’s not like she has any say in it.
