Sam eyed the situation from their hiding spot. The witch was casting his spell already, but at least it seemed to be some sort of ornate ritual. And ornate meant easily interrupted and plenty of ways it could go wrong.
“What we need is a diversion. If you can distract him long enough, I should be able to sneak over and sabotage his spellwork. If I can switch out one or two components for fakes, it should blow up in his face and solve this problem for us.”
Dean squinted at Sam as Cas just blinked owlishly at him. Ever the one to make a wisecrack when he could, Dean snarked at Sam, “What? You want us to dress in drag and do the hula?” Cas actually bit back a laugh and Dean felt positively awesome that he’d gotten Dean’s reference.
Sam, ever the killjoy, simply snorted like his big moose self. “Sure, if you think you can pull that off.” Then stealthed off to work his way around to the witch’s altar, leaving Dean gaping like a fish until Cas just shoved him forward.
