It has taken a great deal of patience and time to be able to read Lucifer Morningstar.
At the beginning of their partnership he hid behind a wall of sexual innuendos and bluff and bluster.
Now, now he is calmer. At peace with his past, centred in his present and looking forward to their future. Together. Partners until the end.
How does she read him so well?
His eyes. His eyes are most definitely a window to his soul.
His eyes light up when he sees her or any of his chosen family but he’s at his most beautiful when he has baby Aurora in his arms. His smile and the joy in his eyes is a wonder to behold.
That is when she sees the Archangel, The Lightbringer, Gods favourite rebel.
When they are solving a crime, his eyes are focused and determined. He has always enjoyed their work. Finding justice for the wronged and punishing the guilty.
Their life together isn’t simple. There’s no cottage with a white picket fence and roses around the door.
He splits his time between Hell and Earth.
She can tell when he’s had a difficult time in Hell, he doesn’t have to utter a word his eyes tell her everything she needs to know. His eyes speak volumes more than anyone she has ever known.
It’s been a hard road, but she doesn’t regret a single moment. This man, her husband, her lover and best friend is worth her time and her energy because when he smiles, when that smile reaches his eyes… everything is right with the world.
