Chapter Text
Urianger opens his eyes and sees Kirune, beaming down at him, eyes full of love. His heart throbs with love for her as well, happy to be home with her again, thrilled to see her with true eyes, to be able to feel her with hands of meat and bone, and he feels his body… his true body, made of flesh and blood… stir.
His body responds to her beauty and grace but he is suddenly assailed with the unshakeable conviction that such carnal desire toward her is wrong.
Confused and upset by the warring of his senses, he does the only thing he can think of: he redirects her to another task as quickly as he can.
Nodding to the small crystal that still hangs at her hip, he tries to smile.
"The vessel beareth our comrade’s blood. With it in thy possession, the way will surely open before thee."
Kirune nods, her gentle smile grateful.
She doth not comprehend, he thinks, that I am desperate for her to be out of my sight.
