Work Text:
Uraraka was always passionate about helping out her parents and their business, which was why she was working so hard in community college to become an architect. She was in her second year and felt closer to finally understanding how she can actually help her family's business, but it all still seemed so far away.
She was always working so much, she never had time for herself— in fact, she was set to help out around her parents' job sites all summer.
Not much of a vacation, but she was so focused on her career, nothing could stand in her path.
Nothing until her eyes locked with toned, muscular, and sweaty washboard abs.
Uraraka was no stranger to boys, she just simply never made time for them. But one sunny day, she was out in the field with the beating sun melting her skin off, making her rounds around the construction site, and was in search of water. What she wasn’t expecting was to find such an entire oasis behind her.
She turned around and suddenly, this very muscular blonde boy who must have been her age, if not older, was completely shirtless minus his flimsy green safety vest.
Her mouth went dry and her eyes and mind froze on the scene before her. The crunch of his plastic water bottle was the only thing to momentarily break her concentration.
Suddenly, he seemed to be approaching her and she immediately could feel this intense aura surrounding him. Her clothes felt two sizes too tight and her heart was ready to hammer out of her chest and into his abs.
He was much taller than her… His brow quirked as he looked at the top of her now flustered head.
“What?” His voice was rough and hot like the gravel on the ground around them. “You look thirsty…” he chuckled.
Uraraka started fumbling things that sounded like words but were just sounds. “I-I-ssss-I-Uhhhh-”
Holding in his laughter, he poured the small remaining amount of water on his bare chest. “Maybe some other time I’ll get you a drink, Angel Face.” He turned to leave with a wink.
She had to be dreaming. There’s no way a guy that hot worked in construction. Maybe he wandered off from a nearby calendar shoot?
Her head was spinning.
Suddenly, a familiar voice broke her out of her daze, “Ochako!”
She turned to face her mother. “Are you alright dear? You look a little flustered?”
“I’m fine Mom, just a little overheated out here,” she tried to play off her flusteredness.
“You shouldn’t overwork yourself, it's too hot today. How about you go back to the office and help your father with some paperwork?” Her mom was fanning herself to try and stay cool as well.
Uraraka groaned internally at the thought of going back to the office. She felt like her talents were going to be wasted by doing mindless and tedious paperwork that had nothing to do with what she was studying.
She wanted to design buildings and houses and all sorts of unique things so her parents' company can make a bigger name for themselves. But for now, she was stuck basically doing mindless tasks, checking the safety equipment on job sites, filling out proposals, and helping her pa with all the paperwork that dealt with money and contracts.
It wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it was a start.
As she was walking back through the job site, she couldn’t help but search for the blonde with washboard abs, just to be sure she didn’t hallucinate him.
She saw him, still shirtless with his safety vest, and his tufts of blonde under his white hard hat, carrying an insanely heavy-looking amount of wood. Her eyes were glued to the sweat beading down on his body. Huh… she was thirsty again.
But she shook her head and tried to snap back to reality as she headed back to the office.
————-
She didn’t see the supermodel blonde for the next two days at work. Half of her was happy to not have an incident, and the other half was sad her eyes didn’t get to ogle such a beautiful sight.
But it was finally the weekend, which, unfortunately for her, would just be full of studying. Or so she thought until her pink-haired roommate stormed into their shared apartment.
“Chakooo! It’s the weekend! Time for us to get blindly druuunk!” Mina cheered out as she threw her work bag on the couch.
“Mina, you know I have stuff to do this weekend, I don’t know if I can go out,” Uraraka sighed.
“Oh please, the weekend just started! You can do whatever you need to do AFTER you get blindly drunk!” Mina walked over to where Uraraka was sitting on their shared kitchen table. “Pleasee? For me? I wanna go hit the bars tonight and forget about all my responsibilities,” Mina pouted.
Uraraka sighed and closed her laptop, “Fine but you owe me a drink.”
Mina jumped up and threw her arms around Uraraka, “ThankyouThankyouThankyou! GIRLS’ NIGHT!” she cheered.
Uraraka then looked at her closet with disappointment, as she really didn’t have many going-out clothes. But she landed on a pink and black body con dress that was short enough to look somewhat summer-y and not too overdressed for a bar.
She threw on some flats, and she and Mina hit the town. The first bar they went to was a dud, no one there was under 40 years old, so they stumbled upon this bar that had multiple pool tables and people smoking cigarettes everywhere.
It honestly wasn’t Uraraka’s scene at all, she felt uncomfortable, but her roommate seemed to be interested in the atmosphere.
“Look at that hottie over there!” Mina whispered as she took another chug of her beer.
“The bald guy?” Uraraka joked.
“No! No! The hot redhead in the far back,” Mina’s eyes seemed to sparkle as she stared.
Uraraka finally spotted the guy in question, but her heart sank immediately as she noticed who Mina’s crush was with.
“Hmm? Your face is all red Chako. Are you drunk already?” Mina teased.
“No! I just remembered something….” Uraraka sighed and silently prayed he wouldn’t come over to her. But she couldn’t help but keep her eyes off him.
He wasn’t shirtless this time, but his red tank top did no favors to hide the toned muscles of his arms. When she looked up again, she noticed he was looking directly at her. And she tried so hard to become invisible at that moment, but she saw the growing grin on his face as he started to approach the bar.
“Mina, maybe we should head out somewhere else,” Uraraka quickly said.
“Why? I think it’s cool here! Makes me feel like I’m in an action movie,” Mina looked around at all the burly men at this bar.
“Well well well, if it isn’t the thirsty girl I owe a drink to, seems like the perfect place for me to help you out.” His gravelly voice sent a shiver down her spine as he sat in the empty stool next to her.
“And who are you?” Uraraka tried to play it cool, but she could tell her face was blushing.
“Oh you know, the guy who's been busting his ass for weeks at your family’s construction site. You know, I’m the guy with the body you can’t seem to look away from,” he chuckled as he rested his head on his arm at the bar and stared at her.
“You know who I am?” Uraraka seemed puzzled since she’s never seen this guy prior to the water bottle incident. How did he know it’s her family’s construction?
“With an ass like that, everyone knows who you are, Sweet Cheeks,” he threw in a wink at her and sat up straighter. “So what’ll you drink? It’s on me, Doll.”
Mina sat with a shit-eating grin the whole time and nudged an embarrassed Uraraka with a “dude he’s so hot, go for it!” whisper.
Uraraka sighed and turned to him, in a desperate need of liquid courage, “Whiskey.”
His eyebrows quirked up, “Not what I was expecting but coming right up.”
After the bartender placed two whiskey glasses in front of them, it seemed like the redhead Mina was ogling was finally making his way over.
“Hey Bakugou I thought you said we were gonna finish this game of pool, not pick up babes!” The redhead sighed as he leaned on the bar next to his blonde friend.
“Tsk. Can't you see I’m busy!” the boy, Bakugou, growled out.
“Sorry man,” the redhead backed away with his hands up when he spotted the shy-looking Mina. “Heyyy, wanna play with me instead while these two fools flirt the night away?”
“Hell yes!” Mina stood up so fast and turned back to Uraraka, “Good luck girl!”
Uraraka groaned and turned back to fiery red eyes staring down the tightness of her dress, and suddenly she felt like she was back at the hot construction site.
“So what’s the daughter of Uraraka Construction doing in a place like this?” He quirked his head in question.
“Oh I don’t know, being bothered by an overworked Forman probably.” She took another swig of her drink.
“Actually, I’m just an apprentice, but you wouldn’t know that,” he laughed to himself.
“Why would I? We have hundreds of laborers at my parents' firm. How am I supposed to know them all,” she bit back at his attitude.
His face slid closer to hers, “Maybe I need to try even harder to get you to look at me.”
Uraraka’s eyes glanced down at his lips as they were now closer in her vicinity. She knew she wasn’t drunk enough to make a move, but she was waiting to see what his next move would be.
“Why do you want me so bad?” She stared into his eyes again.
He just chuckled and said, “You’re hot, Sweet Cheeks. You probably don’t know it but every time you go down to do safety inspections in your little short shorts, all the guys go crazy. And now that I see you up close like this?” He leans in to whisper in her ear, “I think I’m going crazy too.”
Uraraka could feel her heart rate go up, “Well I won’t easily be swayed,” she retorted and turned away from him.
“Why not? You got a boyfriend or something?” Bakugou leaned back away from her.
“No! I just don’t have time for…” her eyes took in his tempting form, “D-distractions!”
“Oh? So you getting drunk at a pool bar? Is that what I’m distracting you from?” he teased.
“No! I just…Don’t have time for boys like you,” she huffed.
“I don’t know why you’re fighting it…I can distract you reaaaal good, Cheeks,” he licked his upper lip and suddenly Uraraka wanted so badly to taste the whiskey on it.
“Do you even know my name?” she grumbled.
“Uh yeah, Uraraka.” The way he said her last name was even sexy.
She sighed, “I meant my first name.”
Bakugou stared at her for a minute. “Not a clue, but do I really need to know your first name to have my tongue in your throat?” he teased.
She choked on the whiskey glass she was finishing, “Excuse me?”
“You heard what I said, and I meant it.” He winked and ordered another round of drinks.
Uraraka kept pounding the liquor out of nervousness and she finally felt warm and fuzzy. Bakugou was looking on to his redhead friend laughing with Mina when he turned to Uraraka and asked, “Do you know how to play?”
“No, I’ve never learned,” she replied.
He smirked, “Well let me teach you the proper way.”
Maybe she was drunk, maybe she was horny, but the way his hands were held around her back to teach her to play pool was a little more intimate then she had been expecting.
Maybe it’s the alcohol talking, or the memory of his washboard abs, or maybe the fact that she hasn't gotten laid in what feels like forever, but she felt herself giving in to this tug of war of desire.
The way he was standing behind her to help shoot pool was hot, the way he was smirking at her was hot, and dammit maybe he was just hot. So she started hoping his actions were gonna match his bold words.
She drunkenly managed to get a ball into one of the holes and she jumped and cheered and hugged Bakugou. “I did it!”
He seemed to purr with delight, “Yeah you did, it was pretty hot, Angel Face.”
“It’s all thanks to my teacher,” she leaned up and kissed his cheek. Innocent enough, she thought.
His hands snaked around the small of her back, “You call that a kiss?”
“What else would you call it?” she spat back at him.
“Let me show you a real kiss, baby.” He tilted her head up and suddenly, she felt like she’s floating as his mouth explored hers with his tongue shoving down her throat like he intended.
She felt dizzy and hot all over. When he pulled away, she knew she had a glazed-over look on her face.
“Too much for you, Doll?” He stared with an equally glazed-over look in his eyes.
She just silently shook her head, “Actually I think it was enough.”
“Oh?” He leaned in and whispered in her ear, “How about you come back to my place and I’ll really distract you?”
She gave him a little push back, “No, I’m perfectly fine with just this…”
“Tsk. Fine, be stubborn, see how far that gets you.”
“Ochakooo!” Mina drunkenly called out, “Kiri keeps cheating in poooool.” The pink-haired girl hugged her roommate like a scolded child.
“Should we head home?” Uraraka asked.
“Yeah! I want some of that leftover chicken katsu at home,” Mina then started drunk rambling about food as they started to leave. Uraraka turned to stare right back at the blonde looking at her like SHE was the chicken katsu Mina was rambling about.
“See you later, Angel Face,” Bakugou called out.
But Uraraka just rolled her eyes as she carried her drunk friend to the bus stop.
She couldn’t help but replay the kiss over and over in her head. Honestly, she couldn’t remember the last time she tried to date a boy, let alone the last time someone kissed her and made her feel so dizzy.
But she’s glad she stopped him when she did, because despite all his hot and heavy energy, she didn’t wanna sleep with a guy she barely knew, let alone do it while she was slightly drunk.
A part of her was conflicted as she remembered how good it felt to be wanted, and she knew Bakugou wanted her badly. But maybe it’s better to have him keep up the chase. She giggled to herself at the thought of his pouting and frustrated expression. He seemed more like the stubborn one, she thought as his words ‘fine, be stubborn,’ played in her head.
Mina looked over and went, “Ohhh someone’s got a crussssh!”
Uraraka stared back at her pink-haired friend, “I’m not the only one, you were flirting with the redhead all night.”
Mina giggled like a small little girl, she definitely was a bubbly drunk. “Yea, but I’ve gotten laid beyond high school,” she slurred and grabbed onto Uraraka’s shoulder. “Listen, you need to live a little, work ain’t goin’ nowhere, go get some dick for the rest of us, yea?”
Uraraka burst out laughing and Mina joined in the chorus of drunken laughter. When they safely returned home, Mina had passed out on the couch and Uraraka so desperately tried to study at her computer, but all she could think of was the hunger in Bakugou’s kiss.
It felt as if her stomach was eating itself alive with the tremendous amount of anxiety she was having walking into work. Uraraka wasn’t sure if she could unpack all the various emotions that went through her mind as she thought about what would happen if she bumped into Bakugou again.
One half was excited and most likely horny, the other was terrified and embarrassed to have to deal with such a relationship at WORK of all places. Thankfully, she could just try and hide in her office working on job proposals.
As she threw herself into her work, the mind-numbing mental strain of trying not to overthink while staring at pages upon pages of text and mundane graphics made her wanna rip her monitor off and scream.
Stepping out for a mental reprieve, she ran into the worst woman possible, Kiyoko. This woman was in charge of all the marketing for the company and Uraraka assisted with making the business proposals since she had more architectural knowledge and it was her parent's company of course. Kiyoko was always the type to speak bluntly and kinda harsh towards Uraraka’s work, and it just added another knot of irritation to Uraraka’s growing frustration.
“Miss Uraraka, clearly you’re on break, why don’t you stop by my office and have a chat about your recent proposal?” Kiyoko stared at her and spoke in a stern and cold tone.
“Uh, sure, just uh, I need to use the restroom first,” she awkwardly joked to try and prolong the interaction as much as possible.
“Well as soon as you’re done, step into my office,” Kiyoko rolled her eyes as she turned to saunter off back to her office.
As soon as Uraraka got to the bathroom, she let out a deep sigh and hid in the stall. This had to be one of the most frustrating parts of working here; even if she’s the owner's daughter, she didn’t wanna butt in and tell her parents how to run their business. Besides, being an undergraduate with hardly any ‘real world’ experience didn’t earn her much credibility in an office setting. So, she grinned and bore it, mostly because she knew that this was preparing her for all the unbearable people she’ll most likely work with in the future.
After she mustered up the courage and finally entered Kiyoko’s office, a wave of emotions crashed into her as the lecture began.
“I’ll be quite frank, I saw a lot of errors in your last proposal.” The errors Kiyoko was referring to were quite miniscule and hard to notice unless you really paid close attention. “Uraraka, I hope for your parents’ sake that you take this work seriously.”
A part of Uraraka wished this woman would strike her instead of unleashing such passive aggressive hostility; her eyes stung with a cocktail blend of sadness and rage. Kiyoko was relentless as she hammered on the criticism, “I really believe you’re not competent enough for this kind of work, you really are making me look bad here for even helping you.”
Uraraka just stared into the soulless black of this woman’s dark eyes and said, “I have nothing to say…. May I leave now?”
Kiyoko then composed herself in a manner that would mimic someone being polite, instead she did it to be rude and petty. “Yup….Good day.” The high pitched fake-nice tone from Kiyoko’s voice lit a fire of rage under Uraraka’s ass.
After she left that dreadful woman’s office, she walked as if she was on a warpath. She wanted to run and scream and punch something; instead, she bumped into something solid and nearly fell.
That something solid made an “oof” noise and when she turned to look, she felt like the universe was playing a prank on her.
“Someone light your hair on fire or somethin’, Sweet Cheeks?” A familiar gruff tone called out to her.
To hell with it, she thought to herself. She turned to the semi-annoyed Bakugou, grabbed the collar of his button-up shirt, and brought his tall form to hers as she kissed him with all the rage and anger in her body.
Bakugou was frozen in shock for a minute but very quickly reciprocated her hungry advances. Uraraka was in control as she made Bakugou’s lips part, giving her access to more of his spicy yet addicting flavor.
He pulled away first, and her lips sought after his in a desperation for more.
“Slow down there, tiger, what’s got your panties in a bunch?” Bakugou asked as he held her at arms length.
“You, if you just shut up and kiss me,” Uraraka wrapped her arms around the back of his neck.
Bakugou was too stunned to speak, as Uraraka chased after his shocked lips once more. The thought of being caught didn’t occur to her, her mind was full of nothing but the burn from the spice on his lips.
Being the only sensible one in this current situation, Bakugou pulled away once more. “Listen Angel Face, as hot as this is, I think we should take a rain check. Last thing I need is for your old man to catch us goin’ at it in the hallway.”
She sighed and finally came to terms with the fact that while Bakugou was a lovely and sturdy distraction, she couldn’t exactly jump his bones in the middle of the whole office. He noticed her frustration and tipped her chin with his thumb so she could properly look into his eyes.
“Though, how about I take you to dinner tonight? As a peace offering for not being able to satisfy you in the middle of the work day,” he said with a smirk.
Uraraka laughed, mostly at the absurdity of the whole situation, but she nodded her head anyways. “I think that would be a bit more appropriate.”
They properly exchanged numbers and when Uraraka got back to her office, suddenly she could care less about the demeaning tone of Kiyoko and all she could think about was the flavor of spicy curry on her lips.
Once she got home, she immediately started getting ready for this date, and her roommate Mina could only stare in shock.
“Have you finally had a ‘come to Jesus’ moment? Are you finally gonna put yourself first and get some good dick?” Mina exclaimed as she watched Uraraka get ready.
“I don’t know if it was a moment of clarity, but I just snapped and realized, I’m tired of not living my life for me. I wanna do things for me, be selfish and live a little,” she nodded after expertly doing one eye of eyeliner.
“Well I must say,” Mina gave her a big side hug, “I’m proud of you…. I think I like the selfish Uraraka a lot more.”
“I think so too,” Uraraka smiled as the version of herself in the mirror looked more youthful and vibrant than it had in the past few years.
Mina then left the room and came back with a whole stack of condoms, “Go, be free. Be SAFE, but be free,” Mina wiped a fake tear away with one of the square tin foil packets.
“MINA! Jeez I don’t need this many,” Uraraka laughed.
“Have you seen that man? Have you not noticed how he looked at you like you were the last slice of cake on earth? Girl, I don’t even think this pile is enough,” Mina slapped Uraraka on the back like she was a frat boy who just won the beer pong championship.
She just kinda brushed Mina’s teasing off but did sneak a few of those packets in her purse. Just in case, she mentally pepped herself up.
A part of her was worried he would be turned off by her forwardness from earlier, but then again, he probably wouldn't ask her to dinner if that was the case. Her mind was full of different thoughts as she took the train to meet Bakugou at a specific sushi bar downtown. Uraraka wasn’t really into hookups, but after the degrading talk with Kiyoko, she had this new sense of purpose to be the young and dumb girl that she was allowed to be. You’re only young and hot once, Mina would always say.
Besides, Bakugou was hot. Literally, she’s shocked she didn’t burn her lips off from tasting his leftover lunch. But she felt more confident in herself knowing that she can pull a guy as hot as Bakugou.
“Lookin’ good, Sweet Cheeks,” she heard him call as she turned the corner toward the restaurant.
“Not so bad yourself.” She bit her bottom lip at the sight of his tight button-up black shirt, which just so happened to be the perfect amount of unbuttoned to show the cleavage of his strong chest.
As soon as they sat down to eat, Bakugou got down to what had clearly been on his mind. “So what the fuck was that earlier today? Not that I’m complaining, but it's definitely a different signal from the night at the bar.”
Uraraka let out a frustrated sigh. “It’s a long story, let me have a drink before I try and even speak about it without screaming my head off.”
They ordered a sake for the table and as soon as it arrived, Bakugou poured her a cup and slammed the bottle down. “So spill it,” he said while gazing at her with a fierce intensity.
After one sip she started to open up about work, from the strong desire to help her parents, to the constant studying, and then finally she stuck out her glass for another pour as she got to Kiyoko.
“I swear that woman hates my guts for no reason, she’s constantly talking down to me,” Uraraka grumbled.
“Listen, I ain’t in the office much but I didn’t even know this old hag existed. Sounds to me like she’s just trying hard to prove herself as a so-called boss,” Bakugou tried not to smirk at how angry Uraraka was. Her face was flushed and she definitely was letting all her anger out.
“She’s not even a real boss, my parents are the boss. Ugh, it’s just so annoying especially when she throws stuff in my face like, ‘you need to do better for your parent’s sake.’ Like no one gives a shit about my sake,” she huffed and downed her second glass of sake.
“Well as much as you hate the hag, I might have to give her a fruit basket for pissin’ you off. If that hadn’t happened, we would’ve never had our run-in in the hallway,” he winked at her. “I guess I gotta get under that skin of yours more to let you take your anger out on me.”
Now she's DEFINITELY blushing. “Listen, sorry for attacking you like that,” she nervously chuckled.
“No worries, I enjoyed it,” his smugness was just oozing all over the floor at this point.
“You were just an easy outlet for me at the moment, but honestly I kinda liked the adrenaline rush of the possibility of being caught….” She looked at him with doe eyes trying really hard to iterate her point.
He poured her another glass as they finally ordered food. Outside of flirting, she asked him more about himself. “So why are you here at this job anyways? You’re definitely knowledgeable enough to work inside the office instead of doing labor in the grueling heat.”
“Heh, well tell that to my mother. The wench told me that working a laborer job would humble me, and to tell you the truth, it really hasn’t changed anything about me,” he took a drink at the thought.
“If anything, I think being outside with your shirt off has made your ego even bigger,” Uraraka joked.
“Well see, that worked out in my favor because it caught the attention of this really hot girl who works in the office,” he teased.
“Oh? So you’re no better than one of those shirtless models who stand outside stores trying to get people to come in.”
“Hey, I actually do hard work, I just look good while doing it,” he huffed at her mocking tone.
Uraraka just laughed as she felt so light and free around him. Perhaps sake had a hand in making her feel more bubbly, but she felt more drunk off his presence than anything.
When the check for dinner came, she was shocked that he paid it without hesitation or a second glance. He was confused at her expression. “What? I’m the one who asked you out… Chivalry ain’t that dead.”
In her previous experience, paying the bill always was the hardest part of going to dinner, she didn’t mind paying for half, but some guys just would play dumb and say ‘I didn’t think it would be that much.’ Needless to say she didn’t go on dinner dates very much for this reason.
Once outside, she felt the chill of the night air hit her hot and flushed face. Bakugou just wrapped an arm around the back of her neck and she could feel her heart race.
“So now what?” she asked.
“Do you want me to walk you home?” he asked.
She suddenly felt nervous now that he was being less forward than their previous encounter.
“Well…I thought maybe we would go back to your place,” she tilted her head as she asked him.
“Now how did little miss stubborn get so bold so quick?” He bent down and gave her a slow and sensual kiss.
She was gone. That kiss was all it took to have her heart so enamored with the beautiful blonde standing over her.
Once he pulled away, his red eyes took in the sight of her lustful expression and drank it in. He let out a grunt and went back to her lips for a more greedy battle of take and give between the two of them.
After finally finding the strength to pull away again, Bakugou just shook his head. “Tonight, I’ll be the stubborn one.”
Uraraka could not hide the surprise on her face. “This is definitely not how I expected my night to turn out.”
Bakugou gave her a throaty chuckle. “Do I seem like the type desperate enough for a hookup that I would bang my emotionally vulnerable and drunk co-worker?” His tone was teasing, but it gave her a pang in her heart to realize the weight behind his words.
Magically, all her raging hormones dissipated at the sudden realization of how unhappy she was. The whole date felt more like a bitch fest for how much work and putting everything before her own feelings really sucked. A strong urge to actually learn more about Bakugou came over her as she looked up at him and said, “Thank you Bakugou, I’m sorry I think I just really needed someone to talk to.”
His face became so soft for someone with so many sharp edges. He placed his hand on her head and brushed through her soft chestnut locks and whispered, “I have a feeling next time you ask to come over to my place, things will be different.”
He walked her to the train station. It was a comfortable silence and every time their dangling hands briefly brushed while walking, Uraraka felt herself grow so warm with a feeling she could only describe as love.
The train ride home felt like forever, but she was giddy at the thought of her next encounter with the angry blonde.
—————-
She felt miserable the next morning. Slightly hungover and dreading going into the office. Her only saving grace was the hope that she would bump into Bakugou again.
Her roommate, however, couldn't care less about her grumpy mood and wanted all the tea.
“Soooo? The date went bad?” Mina asked, poking her head into the small kitchen as Uraraka gathered her lunch.
Uraraka sighed, “No it was great, it just didn’t exactly end how I thought it would…”
“Yeah I’m shocked you came home in one piece. I mean that guy was ready to eat you alive at the bar! Did he have second doubts or something lame?” Mina asked.
Uraraka just shook her head no. “He was being respectful and I’m not mad at him for it.” She sighed just thinking about the whole ordeal.
Mina pouted, “Maybe you should try jumping his bones again?”
“Mina!” Uraraka groaned, “I’m too tired to even think about it honestly.”
Mina just wore a sly grin. “Oh yeah I’m sure you’ll be sooo exhausted when you run into his toned body again.”
Uraraka ignored her roommate’s teasing and got her stuff together to leave for work. She was mentally preparing for any of the shenanigans she would run into today.
And the breath of relief she felt when she heard that Kikyo would be out of office today was so indescribable. Maybe things were finally looking up.
Until she went to the jobsite.
Doing her usual inspections really wasn’t anything special, mostly it was babysitting grown men who didn’t get along with one another. Of course, being the only woman around caused the occasional stirr and unwanted comments, but she knew the majority of laborers were married or harmless.
Everything seemed normal and running smoothly—until she finally came across Bakugou.
It definitely wasn’t what she pictured when she thought about seeing him all sweaty and shirtless doing hard manual labor. She was pulled to an emergency brake and her eyes did make contact with his sweaty and muscular chest—only now it was covered in blood.
“Everyone back up!” she yelled to the crowd surrounding him.
The scene in front of her was one that shook her very core. Bakugou was seemingly passed out, safety gear on, but the left side of his face was bloodied. Everyone was crowded around him and Uraraka had to part the sea of people in order to crouch near him and check his vitals.
She placed a hand on his neck and took his heart rate while somehow simultaneously pulling out her phone to contact an ambulance.
His heart rate was faint considering he was unconscious, and Uraraka could barely keep herself together as the telephone operator asked what the emergency was. The onsite safety director came to her aid to get everyone out of the area, while Uraraka was keeping an eye on Bakugou.
“What happened?” she demanded, seeing the gushing blood from a gash on his face below his hard helmet.
“We were- uh- taking the steel beams to the area and I didn’t realize how close he was behind me, I guess it hit him pretty hard. Next thing I knew he hit the floor and was bleeding everywhere,” the young sparky blonde, Kaminari she recalled, responded.
After listening to what happened, she immediately needed to do something, so she took his hard hat off and jumped in to stop the bleeding. Uraraka ripped a chunk off of her flimsy black t-shirt and tried trying it around Bakugou’s head. She cradled his head in her lap to try and keep it elevated till the ambulance arrived.
“Angel……Face?” she heard him faintly call.
“Don’t try and open your eyes, just hold on-” she placed her hands on his gorey face, hoping she was being soothing or gentle enough to keep him from dying.
Finally, paramedics came, and no one put up a fight with Uraraka as she demanded to go with him. As they swarmed getting him proper medical attention, she was met with an onslaught of questions.
“What kind of beam was it?” “How hard did it hit him?” “What’s your relationship with the patient?”
That last question was a bit tricky and very complicated… However, she didn’t hesitate to say, “I’m his girlfriend.”
Wow one improper date and I guess I can call us boyfriend and girlfriend, she silently scolded herself for lying.
Time in the ambulance felt like a blur, but the paramedics were reassuring.
“Don’t worry hon, your boyfriend is in stable condition, we’re just rushing him to the hospital to make sure he doesn’t have any head trauma or nerve damage,” the female paramedic told her.
Uraraka just nodded her head and silently prayed that Bakugou would be okay. Some strange part of her felt responsible for his injury, mainly because it’s her parents' construction company.
Once they got to the hospital, she was forced to wait while they did all sorts of different tests on him. It was driving her insane to sit in a waiting room. She didn’t know what else to do, so she called Mina.
“Hey girlie what’s up?” Mina’s chipper voice made Uraraka finally burst into tears.
“Bakugou… H-he got hurt,” she sobbed into the phone.
“WHAT? WHAT HAPPENED? WHAT DID YOU DO?” Mina’s voice now full of alarm and panic.
As she explained what happened Mina just began to soothe her, “Listen girl, I’m sure he’s gonna be okay… And even if not you can nurse him back to health.”
“Yeah….I just hope he isn’t seriously injured…. I’m really worried about him,” she confessed.
“Have you contacted his parents? I know that’s not really your job but hell, going to the hospital with him really isn’t either.”
Oh shit, in all the panic, she didn’t even think about his family.
“I have no way of knowing their information right now… All his emergency contacts would be listed in the office. My parents are out of town right now so I’ll have to contact them once he’s stable,” she sighed into the phone.
“Jeez, sounds like a mess…. Hey I gotta go, but text me and let me know what’s happening or if you need anything ok?”
“Yeah, thanks Mina,” Uraraka replied, sounding very dejected.
“Hey I’m sure he’ll pull through and soon you’ll be smooching him back to health in no time! Laters!” Mina hung up trying to stay positive like always.
At least an hour passed before a nurse came to speak to her, “Miss Uraraka?”
“Yes?” She jumped up and almost tripped.
“Mr. Bakugou is being admitted right now, he’s stable, but we wanna do some more tests just to be safe. He- uh asked for you.”
Uraraka then followed the woman into his intensive care room. “I’ll leave you two be, but nurses should be by a little later to draw some blood work.”
Uraraka took a deep breath in as she prepared to pull back the curtain. Her mind couldn’t help but think dark thoughts of his face being bloodied and mangled.
“Uraraka?” he called from behind the curtain.
She shoved it aside and was relieved to see him only covered in bandages. “Oh thank god you’re okay.” She nearly collapsed.
He just chuckled, “As if that dumbass was strong enough to take me down.”
“Kaminari? Or the steel beam?”
“Both,” the look he gave her frightened her, not because it was scary but because of how tender it was. Did my heart just skip a beat? She was lost in the tender ruby eye that wasn’t bandaged up.
“How are you feeling?” She sat down on the edge of his hospital bed, not strong enough to break their eye contact.
“Oh better now that my girlfriend is here,” his smile could cut glass, instead it cut right into her heart.
“Eh-heh, well you see I was kinda put on the spot by the paramedics so I-” she was quickly cut off by his lips meeting hers.
It was a brief kiss, but the effect it had on her lingered on her lips to the point where she could confirm that it had left her speechless.
“It’s okay, I’m okay,” he leaned his forehead against hers.
Holy shit. Who knew he was so soft? Her brain was short circuiting.
“My face and head hurts like a fucking bitch, but I’ll live,” Bakugou gruffed, “I’m not so fragile you know?”
“Yeah but you were bleeding everywhere! It was scary! You scared me asshole,” she mock-punched his chest.
He pretended to be super wounded and laid back. “Well my apologies, no need to beat my ass over it,” he laughed.
She couldn’t look up at him as she realized she was crying. She was tired of crying, but she really couldn’t help it. She was scared of losing Bakugou before she even had the chance to know him so seeing something so terrifying happen to him really unnerved her.
“Uraraka?” The worry then shifted to Bakugou as he just watched tears drip down onto the white sheets below her.
He shifted up and closer to her and embraced her into a hug. Neither truly had any words to say, so Bakugou just sat there and held her while she let all her emotions out.
“Excuse me, Mr. Bakugou, we need to draw some blood,” the nurse interrupted their moment and Uraraka nearly jumped out of her bones to get into the seat next to the bed. The nurse just smiled to herself as she noted how both wore a matching set of blush on their cheeks.
After the nurse took blood, she turned to leave and said, “I’ll be sure to let them know to knock if we have any updates on your condition.”
Bakugou just let out an awkward cough and thanked the woman. He then turned back to Uraraka.
“C’mere.”
His long arms gathered her body back against his and he rested his head in the crook of her neck.
“Still doing okay?” she asked, considering half of his face was still covered in bandages.
“Just perfect,” he chuckled and began to place kisses along the length of her neck.
She couldn’t help but lean her head back at his soft lips worshiping her neck. “Bakugou we shouldn’t-“
“‘Katsuki’, you can call me ‘Katsuki’,” the rumble of his voice reverberated along her neck and she felt like she was gonna pass out.
“Baku- Er, Katsuki,” she panted as he sucked on a sensitive spot below her ear, “I don’t think the hospital is a good place for this.”
He chuckled darkly. “Well the nurse said they would knock and,” he pulled back to look at her, “I think I wanna live a little after almost dying.”
“But do you have to live a little while you’re still in the hospital?” Uraraka laughed.
“What, you gonna be stubborn about this?” He quirked his brow as his large hands started softly caressing her waist.
Any protest seemed to explode away on the impact of his rough hands on her body. “N-no,” she mumbled.
“Good, then be still.” His lips could hardly finish his sentence as he reached up to taste her mouth.
She was stone cold sober but instantly felt as drunk as she did the night they first had their make out session. His hands briefly stopped wandering when he felt the bare midriff from where she ripped her shirt.
He pulled away from her with a look of confusion. “What? I was trying to stop you from bleeding,” she huffed in embarrassment.
His smirk was very charming as he replied, “Ah, my savior, now…. How shall I repay you?”
Before she could quip back at him, his face was buried in the small amount of exposed skin she had on her chest. His little love kisses and bites followed the trail down her cleavage and his fingers assisted with exposing more flesh to worship.
His other hand was crawling up under her shirt following the path of her spine to meet the hook of her bra. “Oh!” she squealed out in a mix of surprise and shock as he managed to unhook her bra one handed.
He chuckled, very amused and proud of her astonishment. Oh he’s good, she thought to herself as she could practically see him glowing with pride.
Uraraka did help him out by removing her arms from just the strap of her bra. She did have to stop him when he tried tugging off the rest of her shirt.
“Please… I don’t want a nurse to walk in while my tits are out.” Her face felt like it was on fire.
“Heh…. Now that’s an image in my head I’ll be thinking about for a while,” he teased.
“Oh really?” She reached toward him and already felt the growing length of his dick through his thin hospital gown. “Which head exactly?”
“S-shit,” he stuttered, totally caught off guard by her actions and words.
Now it was her turn to smirk in amusement as she started her own onslaught of kisses from his sharp jawline to the muscles in his neck. Of course, she wasn’t playing fair by stroking him through his hospital gown as she felt him tremble underneath her lips.
“Uraraka-” he groaned.
“Ochako,” she pulled away from his neck to correct him.
He sighed, “Ochako, please….”
“Please what…Katsuki?” She purposely huffed out his name in such an alluring manner that she wasn’t shocked when he pushed her back down onto the hospital bed and captured her lips in a searing kiss.
“I’m not gonna be stubborn this time,” he growled as his mouth ravished into the side of her neck, marking and claiming her in an almost animalistic way.
His rough hands tugged at the shredded hem of her top and lifted the flimsy material up, exposing her completely. She had no time to complain as his lips were quickly attached to her breast, sucking them like it was his last dying wish.
Uraraka’s face was beet red from the fact that Bakugou was being so lewd in the hospital of all places. Any protest seemed to die on her lips as soon as his mouth started traveling downwards.
“Katsuki,” she squealed as he tugged her shorts and panties down to her thighs in order to have access to his prize. She immediately had to smack her palm over her mouth as he surprised her with a lick up her slit.
All rational thought seemed to leave her mind and she felt the warm muscle of Bakugou’s tongue tease her entrance. She felt like she was floating as the lewd noises filled her ears and her lower body felt like he had lit her on fire.
He chuckled darkly against her mound and when he lifted his head up, he purposely stuck his tongue out as she swore she went cross eyed from the sight of his spit mixed with her slick drip from his long tongue.
“As much as I would love to finish my meal, I don’t think I can wait anymore….” he said as he lifted himself up and hovered his body above hers.
“W-wait, I think I have a condom,” she grumbled. As hot as this is, I’m not gonna risk anything, she mentally huffed.
He just silently observed her with a quirked brow and amused smirk as she did what she needed to do.
Watching her handing him the silver packet, all Bakugou could do was act smug, “Oh so you just always come prepared huh?”
“Shut up and kiss me.” As soon as the words left her lips, her face was on his. Bakugou was already indisposed from being covered in nothing but a hospital gown and it was Uraraka’s turn to giggle and smirk when groping his muscular chest.
He fell back, resting against the hospital bed, and Uraraka took it upon herself to lift up his flimsy hospital dress as Bakugou’s hands began to open and make use of the silver packet Uraraka gave him.
Once he properly covered himself with the rubber protection,Uraraka then quickly took his erect member in her hands and hovered over his form in a teasing manner.
“Ochako,” his deep voice and sharp glare rattled her and made her lower form churn with more excitement.
She slowly lowered herself on him and both of their breaths shivered in relief at finally being connected.
“Fuck,” he gritted through strained teeth trying to control his breathing.
“Shhh, we have to be quiet,” Uraraka huffed out as she teasingly grounded her hips in a slow and sensual manner.
Bakugou’s hands immediately gripped the plush flesh of her thighs and pounded upwards in retaliation for her teasing ways.
“Ah-” She let out a moan a little too noisy for a hospital. It was Bakugou’s turn to bite back, “We have to be quiet, Ochako,” he hissed back.
She just whimpered and leaned forward to silence them both as Bakugou continued to hit a sweet spot inside her that brought tears in her eyes.
His thrusts were getting more sporadic and suddenly both were so lost in one another they stopped caring about the fact that they were in a hospital. It wasn’t until Uraraka heard a knock on the door that her heart sank and she pulled away from Bakugou’s lips with a gasp.
“Shit!” he quietly exclaimed, that was before he decided to let out one final thrust that sent them both spiraling to the edge and made Uraraka collapse on his chest breathing heavily.
They had no time to fix the mess they made, so Bakugou threw a blanket over Uraraka and his lower half in hopes that he could cover up their exertion by pretending that Uraraka had fallen asleep innocently and conveniently on his chest.
“Mr. Bakugou, are you alright?” A concerned nurse asked while walking in.
“Yeah just a…Little stuck here,” he tried not to grunt at the fact that he was quite literally stuck inside her and feeling her walls grip around him. All the nurse had to do was take a quick peek at the two lovers and suddenly she was giggling to herself.
“Well seeing how high your heart rate got, I was a little worried, but I guess it was just a false alarm. Please let me know if you need anything,” the woman said and scurried out as soon as possible.
Uraraka immediately sat up and pulled out and away from Bakugou, “That was way too close!”
Bakugou had to cover his mouth to hide the laughter, “It was fucking worth it though.”
Uraraka aggressively pulled her pants and panties on and felt slightly embarrassed by the whole thing.
“Well since you’re feeling much better and not uh dead, I should get going,” she was still in a daze and honestly wanted to go home and process this whole occurrence.
“So that's it? Just gonna love me and leave me high and dry?” Bakugou pouted.
“Look I-” she sighed in frustration, “I am so speechless right now…. I think I need time to think about what the fuck just happened.”
“Well was it as good for you as it was for me?” Bakugou asked suggestively.
Uraraka was truly too stunned to respond, her brain felt like it had just gotten a factory reset. She not only just had sex with a coworker, she had sex with a coworker she had a crush on, and she just so happened to have sex with him in a hospital bed hours after he almost died.
What the fuck do I even say to that? Was the only thought on her mind.
“Ochako?” Bakugou was a bit concerned now that she was frozen in shock.
“I-it was good!” She blurted out a blushing mess now, “I enjoyed it….Except well…”
“Go on,” his Cheshire grin seemed to piss her off even more.
“Next time I’d like to actually finish,” she pouted all red like a tomato.
He burst out into laughter. He has not laughed so much in one day in so long, all on a day he almost died, he looked at her with gentle eyes. “I promise next time we won’t be in a hospital.”
As Uraraka regained some of her composure, she just sighed, “For your sake, I hope we won’t.”
“Okay okay Angel-face, I’ve tortured you long enough. Go home and relax, I’m definitely feeling a lot better now. I’ll be back in the office bugging you in no time,” he smiled.
“Get some rest please,” she sighed and walked over to him to give him an innocent peck on the cheek. “See you soon.”
As she left the hospital room, she couldn’t help but feel flustered by all the nurses giggling at her under their breaths. Oh boy, what a weird turn of events this is. She scolded herself at her brazen actions.
She knew she was doomed when she got home because Mina Ashido was never gonna let her live this down. Even if Uraraka kept this secret to her grave, she knows Mina would somehow just know. Facing Mina was even scarier than being scolded by the tyrant Kiyoko and all Uraraka could do was try to mentally prepare herself for an onslaught as she took the train home to her shared apartment.
“YOU WHAT?” Mina’s voice echoed through her eardrums as she poured herself another drink while pouring her heart out.
Uraraka had nothing to say in defense of herself, all she could do was take in her roommate’s jaw hitting the floor.
“IN A HOSPITAL?” Mina paced back and forth as if walking around would help her process the information faster. “GIRL, WHAT THE FUCK.” She raked a hand through her bouncy pink curls and took a sip of the margarita she had made.
“Yeah, I know,” Uraraka said in shame, staring into her own glass.
“Man,” Mina let out a breath and a pause before she burst out into uncontrollable laughter. “I never thought in a million years my best friend, Uraraka Ochako, would get caught getting it on in a hospital.”
“It’s not my proudest moment,” Uraraka downed the rest of her drink.
“Well, maybe it should be! I mean….. Girl, you work hard every day and every night and I never ever see you do anything for yourself. I mean you’re young and hot! You shouldn't have to throw away your days of youth and making mistakes. Live a little!” The alcohol started hitting Mina a bit harder as she got on her motivational speaker talks.
“It’s not that easy for me, I mean I have to look after my folks and do what I can for the business and them. I really don’t wanna screw up and make things harder on them,” she sighed a bit.
“Listen here, you should only have to live to do what makes you happy. No one said you couldn’t be a scholar on top of getting dicked down in the weirdest of places,” Mina laughed as she walked over to ruffle Uraraka’s hair.
Uraraka never had any siblings, but at times like these, Mina felt like the older sister she never had. The drunker the both of them got, the more they laughed their troubles away.
“Ya know, now I gotta do something even crazier to up my street cred,” Mina slurred and laughed.
“Whatever happened with Bakugou’s friend?”
Mina then blushed a bit more and not because of the alcohol. “He’s different.”
“Ohoho, different?” Uraraka examined the shy look on Mina’s face. “You’re not the type to get shy so easily, I guess he is different.”
“I think I really like him,” she smiled.
Uraraka beamed back. “I’m glad, I think both of us can be happy on double dates!”
“Just don’t end up taking us somewhere where you two can horizontally tango!”
That night, Uraraka ended up passed out on the couch, her alarm woke her up to being covered in a blanket and a note on the table that said:
Hope his head feels better after giving you some! I’m gonna make some pasta for us to celebrate, but let me know if lover boy has other plans with you.
xxx Mina
Uraraka groaned and dragged her own sorry ass out of bed and into the bathroom to get ready for work. She felt a new resolve wash over her, the past 48 hours having really inspired her to take better charge of her life. You’re only young and hot once, she thought to herself as she recalled Mina’s words.
As she walked into her office, she already was getting an earful from Miss Kiyoko through the various spam of emails she was CCed onto, accusing Uraraka of being irresponsible for not doing god knows what during the accident.
It was embarrassing really, a grown woman trying to make her younger coworker look bad for no reason. It snapped a string—a string that was already so thin—of Uraraka’s patience.
She stormed into Kiyoko’s office and sat across from her in a manner that showcased she wasn’t going to take any of the older woman’s nonsense anymore.
“Do we have a problem?” Uraraka asked blatantly.
Kiyoko couldn’t even bother to make direct eye contact and constantly seemed to be in a state of rolling her eyes. “I think we do, you haven’t conducted yourself in a way that’s appropriate. The incident yesterday had nothing to do with you yet you were running off and avoiding your responsibilities.”
“Listen, the safety of that man was more important to me than any measly side task that you didn’t wanna do.” Uraraka took a sharp breath in and mentally prepared herself for an onslaught.
“Work I don’t wanna do? That is called my job and as far as I can tell you need a lot of improvement if you wanna even call yourself good at your job. You’re only here because your mother and father own the place. But I highly doubt you’re competent enough to get a job on your own if that wasn’t the case,” Kiyoko huffed, still unable to make proper eye contact.
Uraraka stood from her chair. “I am not so incompetent that I can’t fend for myself. As far as I’m concerned, you try to act high and mighty but in reality, you do the bare minimum at this job and act like you’re so superior because you’ve worked here slightly longer than me. I don’t give a shit what you think of me, but don’t go around acting like the job I do here isn’t enough. People beyond my parents respect me, you’re just the only bitter one here that just refuses to act even civil.”
Kiyoko started flubbing her words and her jaw was agape, but Uraraka was over it.
“Don’t act like you’re gonna fire me either, that's not your place. File a complaint, I have more than enough evidence to show how rude and bitchy you are to me, so go on. Try me,” Uraraka hissed at her as she swung the door to Kiyoko’s office open and walked out of there as soon as she could.
She then went back to her desk and shot back the longest email of her life to HR, complete with screenshots and a bitter tone of text.
Her mom came into her office with a concerned look, “You doing okay, hon?”
“I’m a bit better now,” she sighed, “I just hate corporate life.”
Her mom chuckled, “Well I come with good news.”
Uraraka tilted her head at this. “That young man is gonna be returning to work tomorrow…. In the office.”
“What? What’s he gonna be doing?”
“Well, I figured he could shadow and help you for a bit till his body recovers and maybe he can permanently stay in the office if he wanted to. He did get injured on the clock though, it’s a wonder we haven’t gotten sued,” her mom looked a bit worried.
“I don’t mind helping him out, Kiyoko might hate it though,” Uraraka rolled her eyes at the thought.
“Doesn’t matter what she thinks, he’s coming to the office and that’s that,” her mom shrugged as if she didn’t see the big deal.
Uraraka just wanted to laugh at the absurdity of the whole thing, Bakugou working with her and Kiyoko, Kiyoko now being an even more annoying tyrant than usual. Good Grief, she was already mentally exhausted.
“Well, can’t say I don’t like a woman in charge.” Bakugou was already acting smug as he was stuck filing paperwork in her office.
“Listen, Baku-” she paused for a moment, “Katsuki, you can flirt with me all you want but no public PDA! Kiyoko has already tried to start a case against me and I refuse to give her more fuel to the fire,” she sighed.
Bakugou threw his hands up as if he was guilty. “Fine, fine.” He then stood up and walked in front of her to ask, “In exchange, you have to go to the pool bar with me tonight.”
Uraraka just laughed and said, “Deal.”
Having Bakugou by her side and occasionally snapping at the older woman who once was the source of all her anxiety was such a refreshing change of pace. Although, she did miss the sight of his glistening abs on a hot work day.
Well, at least now when she’s off of work, she can look and touch at his model-like form all she wants. Maybe office life isn’t as bad as it once was.
