Chapter Text
Sounds of gently sniffling can be heard as a brief moment of quiet settles over the room before the ceremony continues.
"Do you, Beca, take Chloe to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, for as long as you both shall live?"
“Yes, I do.”
"Do you, Chloe, take Beca to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, for as long as you both shall live?"
“Yes, I do. Definitely.”
“Do you have the rings?” Seth asks, prompting Jesse to remove the ring box from his pocket and step between Beca and Chloe, offering them the box in turn before returning to his place.
“Beca, please repeat after me: ‘Chloe, let this ring serve as a reminder of my love for you and wear it as a symbol of my unending devotion.’”
Beca gently takes Chloe’s trembling hand, giving it a soft squeeze. She speaks quietly as she slides the plain, shiny band onto her left ring finger: “Chloe, let this ring serve as a reminder of my love for you and wear it as a symbol of my unending devotion.”
“Chloe, please repeat after me: ‘Beca, this ring is a symbol of my love and my promise to love and honor you so long as the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening.’”
Chloe carefully slides the claddagh off of her right pinky and gently takes Beca’s hand. She begins to slide the ring - heart pointed inwards - onto her finger as she speaks: “Beca, this ring is a symbol of my love and my promise to love and honor you so long as the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening.”
They stand together for a few moments, their eyes locked and beaming.
“And now,” the smile on Seth’s face can be heard, “by the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you Missus and Missus. You may now kiss your bride.”
Without hesitation, their lips connect and their guests erupt in whoops and cheers.
