Work Text:

“I don’t like how he treats her,” Gene says as he watches Louise and Logan bickering in front of the restaurant. Their younger sister–still short despite her years–stands on tiptoe to poke Logan in the nose. The blond man flails as if she punched him.

“No, Louise likes it,” Tina replies and watches just as intently. “It’s their thing.”

Gene turns to Tina, an eyebrow raised. “Arguing is their thing?”

“You know how Louise is, Gene.” Tina’s voice is as deadpan as ever as she takes out her battered notebook. She doesn’t write RPF as much these days–parenthood and work take up most of her time–but Louise and Logan reconnecting in their thirties deserves a proper sendup.

“She likes getting heated. She needs someone who puts up a fight but can back down when it matters. Logan’s still an asshole but so is Louise sometimes. Sorry.”

Gene shrugs. “Eh, she admits it.” He looks back at the couple to see them about to kiss, both smirking as if their fight had never even happened.

“They’re a match made in the bowels of Hell, I guess.”

Tina smiles and puts pencil to paper. “Nah, purgatory at worst.”
