THE OWL HOUSE
————————————————
————————————————
Everything had gone so fast.
"Eda the Owl Lady!" They shouted, sending spells her way, almost destroying the bar. The Owl Lady, now named Eda, called her staff towards her as she dodged the barrage of attacks aimed on her way, casting spells to revert it back at the guards.
Luz tried to sneak away from all the Ruckus but Eda quickly caught them with Owlbert, they flew right past them, right into the skies, the guards chased them, but it was inevitable that she would get away, again.
Luz held on tightly to the Staff whilst simultaneously trying to hang on for dear life as he could slowly feel the collector slipping away, clenching tightly onto the bag. Was he being kidnapped already?? Fuck what was he gonna do, there was no way he could survive from this height, he’d run away as soon as they got to ground level.
Luz looked around at the island from this height, a skull resided within the island with prickled thorns on its side, a crack slid by its horns and eye. Giving Luz an uncomfortable feeling from the sheer Aura of it. The abandoned corpse was a significant part of the island, literally the backbone of the continents. The skull held an overwhelming presence towering over the whole island. The town square where they were before, was colored warmly, the citizens of which town seemed almost normal but they very much were not. It was very diverse, filled with all types of magical creatures Luz read in his books. Scorpion Butterflies, a spider breathing griffin, and various other type of monsters. Luz felt a twinge of excitement but the overall fear rang through his body.
He wanted to go back home.
Ever since he pressed into the moon symbol his whole life was ruined, now bound to the collector for life he barely had any freedom, the shackles on their wrists practically confirmed that fact, his life was turned into a neverending hell, he was lucky he was able to bring some of his gadgets from the other world to tinker with that were still in his bag.
“I remember all this! I can't wait to play once I get out ” the collector sighed in relief as the Nostalgia kicked in. Luz quickly closed his bag when Eda turned back to look at where the voice came from, “What was that?” Luz started to sweat trying to come up with an answer on the spot. “I-it was uhm.. My Gadgets” he managed to spit out, Eda seemed pleased with the answer that Luz gave her. “Gadgets huh? You might have to show me once we arrive!” she said excitedly but Luz couldn’t help but take it as a threat, he didn’t trust her.
He snapped out of his thoughts when the owl lady put her hand on his shoulder, it was an attempt to comfort him though it didn’t really change much. “Cheer up kid, it’s all going to be alright” she told him sincerely, Luz only nodded not bothering to give her an answer.
the atmosphere was thick, he wanted to ask a question but was unsure of how to put or what would happe. "why did you take me?" He finally asked, Eda turned to him and simply gave him a smirk. "Well I can't let someone as Valuable as a Human get capture, besides, we're both weirdos, and weirdos have to stick together"
Luz couldn't help but smile at the answer, the first form of relief ever since he got here, as they finally arrived. The Owl House.
The House had a unique shape he’s never seen before, it was delicately built, round shapes that tossed and turned that came together to build the Owl House.
Luz knew this was their chance but contemplated whether they should or not as they weren’t sure how much the Owl Lady was even capable of. He decided to take a chance on it and ran for it, however before he could make it far he stopped by an annoying bird that’s head popped below the ground before his very own eyes, it was almost surreal. “Hoot Hoot! Hi new friend! My name is hooooooty" the annoying thing yelled, as his voice was enough to grind his ears.
Luz tried to cover his ears to block out the noise but it didn't help that 'Hooty' was rubbing his face onto his doubling the sound.
Eda quickly shut up the bird with a swat of her staff. "Get off our new guest Hooty, he's a special guest" she smirked as she turned to Luz.
Eda walked Luz towards the entrance of her house. Luz was…disturbed… to say the least when he saw Hooty open his mouth extremely wide for them to enter, Eda quickly pulled him inside the house. With a snap of her fingers the candles lit the room with a warm and comfortable sheets of honey brown around the room.
It almost felt just like home, almost.
"Welcome to… the owl house."
