Work Text:

Xue Meng huffed, glaring at the one next to him.

"Could you fucking stop that?!"

Mei Hanxue smiled at him innocently.

"What's wrong, Ziming? It's not like this is the first time something of this texture got on your face."

Xue Meng furrowed his brows, trying to figure out what the other was implying at.

"Well, whatever. Don't fucking throw your pumkin seeds at my fa- WAIT HOLD UP. EW! YOU- YOU DISGUSTING MUTT!"

Mei Hanxue burst out laughing while his twin just sighed, shaking his head.

"Could you two not scream at eachother for two minutes?"

"Ge, don't look at me, look at MengMeng. He's the one that likes to scream. In- and out of bed."

"You fucki-"

Mei HanXue let out a louder sigh and sat between the two of them.

"Alright, alright. That's enough. Go back to carving the pumpkins."

"But ge!"

Mei HanXue stayed quiet and kept carving his little pumkin as the one on his right side kept fuming with anger and the one on his left side tried to feed said anger.

They screwed around for a good 30 more minutes, carvin in silence, save for the small bickering here and there, before Xue Meng proudly put down his masterpiece.

"All done."

The younger of the twins looked down at the carved pumkin before he burst out laughing.

Xue Meng looked at him angrily.

"What are you laughing at?! It's great! I bet your's looks awful!"

Mei Hanxue smirked before pushing his own pumkin towards the angry little guy.

"You sure about that, darling?"

Xue Meng looked down at the other's work, as he murmured a small complain about the nickname,  the insults he was about to spit at him died on his tongue.

Mei Hanxue's work.. well it could've competed against Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam painting if it existed in this age.

Xue Meng shook his head, coming back to his senses, and crossed his arms.

"It's terrible. Probably Mo Ran would've done a better job if he were here. Eventough he sucks at these kind of things."

"Still think it's awfu- Hey, what?! That's not true!.. Is it? Ge! It's not that ugly, right?"

Mei HanXue took one glance at the pumkin before going back to his work.

"It is."

Xue Meng barked out a laugh, grinning widely at Mei Hanxue.

"See? Told you! It looks worse than your face."

"Ouch. Ge, brother dearest. Why are you so mean to me? What are you even carving? Lemme see. I'm sure if mine's so bad, than your's must be a masterpiece above all."

He reached for his brother's pumkin but his hand was quickly slapped away.

"No."

Xue Meng perked up at that.

"Wait, yeah I wanna see it too now."

"No. It's not finished."

"It's alright. I just wanna take a quick look."

Mei HanXue looked at his younger brother, in hopes of getting him to back off but the other just stared back so the two began a glaring contest.

While the two was occupied with their childish game, Xue Meng glanced over Mei HanXue's shoulder.

"... you really just wrote 'pumkin' onto your pumkin..?"

Mei HanXue, breaking the glaring contest, looked at him.

"Yeah, why? This was the best I could think of."

Next to him, the younger huffed.

"Ge, that's like super boring. Where did the years of training in arts go to? Sometimes it's hard to believe we are related in any kind of wa- ow!! What did you hit me for?"

Mei HanXue didn't answer and continued smoothing out the last strokes.

Xue Meng just rolled his eyes at the two and stood up, holding his pumkin close to him.

"Anyways, I'm gonna put this out."

"Wouldn't do that if I were you. You'll scare kids away with that ugly thing."

"Why- Mei Hanxue you little ass! I'll stab you in your sleep! There's absolutely nothing wrong with this pumkin, shut up! It's yours that is ugly!!"

The only answer he recieved was a laugh and a hand on his waist.

"Mm.. I don't think I'm the little ass."

As Mei Hanxue spoke, his hand wandered lower and lower from his waist to said bodypart.

Xue Meng yelped and gave the other a smaller slap before storming off while muttering curses under his breath.

Mei Hanxue, having just recieved the night's second slap, gave his brother a wounded look but he just shook his head and continued working on the absolute nothing.

Seriously who carved 'pumkin' onto a pumkin? What a darn fun sponge.

After all three of them had put their works on display, Xue Meng sighed, sitting down to the table to eat.

As they ate, Xue Meng noticed that no matter how much pork he ate, somehow the amount of meat on his plate remained the same.

One time as he turned back to his plate after telling Mei HanXue about the flowers his mother used to grow in her own garden, he caught the younger twin sneaking some pork onto his plate.

So that's where the endless amount of meat came from.

"C'mon Ziming don't look at me like that. I gotta keep you well fed."

Xue Meng looked at him angry and huffed.

"What am I? A fucking pig? No need to 'keep me well fed' you jackass."

"But you are so bony. Your bony ass hurts my legs when you sit into my lap."

"Then I won't sit there. Problem solved."

"Wait- no- Ziming don't do this with me. I just wanted good for you."

"Too late. Now stop giving me more
meat."
Mei HanXue choked on his drink as his brother raised an eyebrow, before grinning at him.

"Sorry but I'll never stop doing that."

Xue Meng looked at the two confused but figured he doesn't wanna know what the two were thinking about.

He ate his fill -now his plate safe from unwanted porks- and left the table to finish the remaining sect leader duties.

After the night ended, and everyone has retreated, at the front of the sect leader's house, three carved, lit pumkin sat in the quiet.

Similar to how inside the house, these guarded, slept three figure soundly.

Each of them might be different but they fit together perfectly and they would be together for the rest of their lives.
