Chapter Text
It unnerved you a little, the way the newer seemingly friendly leviathan was focusing his gaze on you so intently, Moondrop of course frowning with his arms crossed, seemingly discontent with whatever it was he and the other lunar themed leviathan had discussed.
It was almost as if Lunar wanted something from you. Still your air tank was starting to run low so you so casually swim back to your seamoth and climb back inside.
By then lunar is once again circling your vehicle, a contemplating look on his face before he swims behind it, you're jolted a bit as he gives it a small push in a familiar direction, a mischievous grin growing on Moondrop's face as you can very much tell what's happening, swimming to you then give a small push in that same direction.
They're trying to get you back to your cyclops which you could barely drive since the steering had you standing up to drive it. You're not happy about it but seeing as you're getting low on rations in your seamoth’s storage it feels like it's the right choice to make.
However you certainly aren't appreciating them repeatedly bumping the seamoth as if it was a ball to play with…but at the same time they were relatively gentle with it and it was actually sort of amusing so you might as well give in and play along with it.
If anything it would give you a small boost to your mood while you try to think of a solution to the steering problem with your cyclops.
So now every time they pushed the seamoths forward a little bit you would drive it forward a bit, following the motion before stopping suddenly then waiting for one of the two to push it forward again.
It took them a moment to figure out what you were doing but the confusion that had previously been on their faces had been rather priceless.
Over the next few hours back to the larger submarine the pair began to push each other as well like a form of silly play fighting over who would give the seamoth it's next push.
At one point Moondrop had dramatically pretended to die, when Lunar pushed him, it was rather obvious that he was pretending since he had grabbed his chest and seemed to do a little speech in the leviathan's language.
Most likely a silly one about betrayal before floating with his body facing downward to the seafloor and letting his tongue hang out,the goofiness of it managing to make you laugh. Lunar soon mimicking Moondrop’s dramatics while you all traveled.
By the time you had reached the cyclops Moondrop had pretended to die about six times, each time acting more and more dramatic while Lunar seemed to try and out due him multiple times.
Their antics had definitely boosted your mood, you had no idea your body had been so tense until they had started that little contest of who could be more silly and dramatic about feigning death that had made you laugh so much.
Once your seamoth was docked you headed to the cockpit and saw the radio blinking, the machine having received a message in your absence. A chill runs down your spine a bit hoping it wasn't one like that previously translated one from before.
You're reluctant to listen to it before you hear a tap on the window of the submarine’s cockpit, you turn your head to see a smiling Lunar who waves at you and you wave back causing him to chirp cutely before he begins to swim away.
You can only assume he was waving goodbye as he left the group, you wondered a little about where he might be heading, perhaps to visit more of his species?...still you had to eventually bite the bullet and find out what the radio had received.
You take a deep breath to calm your nerves before pressing the button to listen to the message, the voice you heard and the words of the message received made your body feel cold.
“This is Captain Maria Strong, we're a few days from the planet now and it's within range of geological scanners, we're going to scan the planet to see which zone you're located in and look for a good area to land, it should take about a day or two for us to get the results then send you the coordinates, over and out”
They were close to trying to land on the planet and you had not yet come up with a way to warn them of the dangers of getting too close to the planet nor of what dangerous creatures reside here, the only thing you can think of is to wave flares at the landing site to try and get them to turn back as fast as possible.
You would have to get to the landing site as fast as possible when you receive the coordinates, this would be a life and death situation but you can only prepare for the worst at this point with these heavy feelings of the weight of other’s lives on the your shoulders.
