Chapter 30: Chapter 28

Notes:

Not much happens in this chapter, it’s kinda just to get me back into the story :)

Chapter Text

Tubbo woke up and yawned. Even though his diaper was damp, he did his morning pee into his diaper, which was luckily thicker than his previous ones. He felt strange this morning. He didn’t even sit up yet, and just laid there, cuddling his monkey. He actually did fall back asleep for an hour before waking up again.

He turned over and his sleepy eyes saw Dream in his room, who was softly humming to himself while hanging up clothes from a basket of laundry.

He just watched Dream for a while, until the older noticed that his baby was awake.

“Good morning, sleepy head.” Dream whispered.

He slowly lifted Tubbo up and cuddled him for a little while before changing him. He could tell by Tubbo’s demeanor that it would be a quiet day for him. He got Tubbo into a comfortable sweater and sweatpants, and today he had a cute Elmo themed diaper, as the sky blue ones had run out.

Tubbo gently sighed and laid his head on Dream’s shoulder while Dream carried him downstairs. Dream made him a bottle for breakfast and took him to the living room. Tubbo slowly drank the bottle and curled back into Dream’s warmth.

“T-T-Tub-b-bo b-bab-by?” Ranboo struggled to ask from his spot in the playpen.

“Yeah, kitten, Tubbo is a baby today.”

Ranboo nodded and went back to playing quietly with his lovey. George came in from the kitchen with a coffee for himself and put on “Baby Einstein” (a cute puppet show for young kids.) Ranboo was quickly enthralled in the show, as he was feeling a bit young today too. Tubbo’s eyes began to flutter closed and Dream let him fall back asleep.

The next time that Tubbo woke up, he was being strapped into his car seat. He whined and tears filled his eyes.

“I know, baby, but you have to stay nice and safe in your seat. We just have to run some errands.”

Obviously Tubbo had no idea what Dream was saying and just wanted more cuddles. Dream took a nice and soft baby blanket and laid it over Tubbo. Tubbo clutched the soft material and snuggled into it.

“W-w-waido?” Ranboo asked in a baby-ish voice.

His dads knew that he was asking for the “radio,” which really meant that they would play songs he liked through the speakers on Spotify.

“Sure, baby. What song do you want?”

“P-punzel?”

George put on some music from the Tangled soundtrack and Ranboo smiled, moving his head with the music.

Finally they were ready to go, so Dream hopped in the drivers seat and drove off. He often glanced towards Tubbo in the mirror to make sure he was okay. Tubbo just stared absentmindedly out the window.

They went to the bank first, where Dream and Ranboo went inside and after a while, Ranboo came back out with a lollipop where his paci once was.

They went into the grocery store next. Dream ordered a lot of stuff online, but he always wanted to pick out his own produce. All four of them went inside. The employees greeted them kindly because they have known Dream, George, and Ranboo for a while, and had heard plenty about Tubbo.

This store was one of the easiest to shop in. It had the type of carts that had attached seating for kids. Tubbo, luckily, could fit in the seat, and Ranboo was in the mood to walk.

Dream and George picked out all the fruits, veggies, and dairy that they would need for the upcoming week or two. They let Ranboo pick out any snack he would want, like the type of cheese and some crackers. Tubbo sat quietly in the cart, and Dream was getting a bit worried about him.

“Are you okay, baby?” Dream asked him, knowing he most likely wouldn’t get a response. He gently caressed Tubbo’s cheek.

Tubbo didn’t respond but opened his mouth and tried chewing on Dreams fingers. His pacifier dangled from its clip.

Dream chuckled with relief that Tubbo was just regressed very small today and put his paci back in. He looked over to Ranboo and noticed that he was wiggling, a sign that he had to go potty. He met eyes with George and glanced at Ranboo to let him take over that situation.

George pulled Ranboo aside and asked, “Do you have to go potty?”

Ranboo sheepishly nodded, twisting his legs together.

“Okay, we have some options. You can go potty in the bathroom here, or in your nappy. But if you go in your nappy, you’ll have to wait to be changed, okay?”

“D-dont w-wike b-b-big pot-tty.” Ranboo mumbled.

“That’s okay. You can go in your diaper.”

“Howd m-me?”

George picked Ranboo up and could feel how tight his leg muscles were clenched. He rubbed Ranboo’s back while they finished shopping. Ranboo actually made it longer than George thought he would, but as they were checking out, he could feel Ranboo’s diaper grow warm.

They finished paying and George whispered to Dream about when to change him. If they were in a slightly more secluded area, they would just change him in the back of the car, but the store was extremely busy today.

George talked to Ranboo while Dream loaded the groceries into their insulated shopping bags, “We are going to go home so you can get changed, okay kitten?”

Ranboo looked sad for a moment, “Go to d-da pwace?”

“What place do you want to go to baby?”

”B-bad!”

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what you want.”

Ranboo seemed frustrated with how his words weren’t forming. He could feel tears spilling down his cheeks.

“It’s okay. Let’s try again. Do you want to go somewhere to play?”

Ranboo shook his head no.

“Somewhere to eat?”

Ranboo nodded.

“Ohhh I think I see. You want to go to Bad’s restaurant?”

Ranboo nodded again. George smiled at him and wiped the tears off of his cheeks. George and Dream decided to go there next for lunch. Some would think that they were spoiling Ranboo, but really, they were extremely proud that he was asking them questions and to go places without having a nervous breakdown.

They also didn’t have to worry about where to change him because the restaurant had a big changing table in the bathrooms.

They arrived at the restaurant and Dream took Ranboo to the bathroom while George took Tubbo to get a table. Originally, he pulled over another highchair to put Tubbo in, but Tubbo clung onto him tightly.

When he sat down, Sapnap came over to greet him, “What’s up Gogy?”

“Hey, Sap. Nothing much, just running errands today.”

Instead of taking an order, Sapnap sat down at the table with him and they chatted for a bit. Dream even came back with Ranboo and put him the highchair and joined their conversation.

That was until Skeppy bounded over to tell Sapnap off for slacking off, “Sapnap! We have customers waiting!”

“Yeah, sorry sorry, I’m on my way.” Sapnap stood up and cracked his back.

“Did this muffin even take your guys’ order?”

With the smile and look that Dream and George shared, Skeppy got his answer and made Sapnap go back into the area designated for the regular people.

“Now, what would you muffins like to order?”

Dream tuned to Ranboo and asked him, “Do you know what you want?”

“G-G-gween nood-dles?”

“He wants the Alfredo with broccoli and some chocolate milk. I’ll have the tuna sandwich with a water.”

“And I’ll have a salad with water too.” George piped in.

“I’m assuming he needs a bottle?” Skeppy asked while motioning towards Tubbo.

“Yeah, he’ll want a bottle. Thank you.”

Skeppy smiled before running off to get their orders. They talked for a bit while waiting, and Dream made sure to get plenary of pictures of Ranboo and Tubbo.

When Skeppy returned, George fed Tubbo a bottle of milk while Dream fed Ranboo, both taking small bites of their own food when they had the chance. Dream was relishing in the fact that both his boys were so little today. Not that he minded when they were in a bigger headspace, but he felt extra protective over them during moments like this.

They finished the food up fairly quickly and Dream made sure to tip extra before they left. It was getting a bit closer to the afternoon, so when they went home, Dream and George took them out back to the playset.

Ranboo clumsily toddled around. Tubbo, on the other hand, just sat on George’s lap. He was more awake now and had started babbling and giggling at George. George hummed softly and showered him in kisses.

“D-d-daddy wook!” Ranboo called from where he was on the playset.

“Oh are you gonna go down the slide?” George asked with a smile.

“Yeah! An’ D-d-dad-da g-gonna g-get me!”

Ranboo made sure George was watching before he went down the slide where Dream caught him. He then repeated this about 10 more times before he decided he wanted to swing.

George just smiled and praised him each time while bouncing Tubbo on his lap. Though Tubbo started to get restless. He whined and clutched George’s shirt while wiggling his body.

George lifted him up and took him inside quickly, just to grab a few toys for him before returning ti the shining sun. He set Tubbo down on a picnic blanket with some rattles and various other baby toys. Tubbo became much more excited and hit one of the rattles off of the ground.

George made sure to snap some pictures of the cute baby and cooed at him. They played outside until mid afternoon and decided to head in for some snacks.

Dream cut up some watermelon and cantaloupe for them to eat. Ranboo shoved several handfuls into his mouth, happily chomping away.

Tubbo was still a bit too small, so Dream just fed him some cold banana flavored baby purée. He then gave Ranboo a sippy with water and Tubbo a bottle of water to make sure they wouldn’t get dehydrated.

Ranboo started to whine. He didn’t want water.

“Baby, you have to drink water. It’s good for you.”

“N-n-no wanna!” Ranboo cried out before throwing the top of his body onto his tray, accidentally knocking off the bowl of half eaten fruit.

This caused him to spiral, as he was already tired and in need of a nap. Tubbo’s own lip jutted out in a watery pout as his brother sobbed in his highchair.

George was quick to distract him with more spoonfuls of baby food as Dream picked up the sobbing toddler-minded boy.

“I know, I know you’re just tired sweetie. It’s okay. It’s just fruit, dada will clean it all up.”

Ranboo continued to cry so Dream took him upstairs to get him ready for a nap while George did the same with Tubbo. Eventually, they were both down and sleeping soundly.
