a diamond in the clouds, a rarity only he could treasure. he adored him, orbited him. he was the center of his universe. the light in his eyes was a constellation, his laugh a firework, and he celebrated his existence every day. the sky lit up with color, wondrous bright lights whenever he was around his love, a dream that never ended. he loved being near him, being pulled into his atmosphere.
this love was something he wrote about in his diary, it was all his little mind could focus on. chubby fingers and wobbly handwriting detailing all his deepest desires, such as holding the new kid’s hand and throwing sand in his hair and being king of the playground. (the slide was his palace, of course. and he would bring his flag, big and blue, and tie it to a huge stick, waving it without a care in the world, screaming TAEHYUN-AH!! LOOK! because he was king, and he could do whatever his little heart desired.)
he always was a hopeless romantic, even as a child. blame it on his sign, pisces were always dreamers. a hot air balloon, giant, color-full, could never compare to the way he made him sky-high. carried away by butterflies, fluttering stomach and heavy limbs. lead and feathers, a bottomless pit of light.
“come back to earth,” he heard. spiraled down towards him, air passing at light-speed and coloring his cheeks, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kisses. he stared. how could he not? he was glowing under the moonlight, brighter than any diamond. perfection in a human body, his miracle. strong when he couldn’t be. soft when he had to be. stunning smile, too.
“what are you looking at?” his lover snorted, bumping their noses together not unlike a cat. a question that needed no answer. he smiled, and entered his orbit again. he adored his wonderboy.
