They were charing food, food. Ei wanted to do this with Miko. They do eat a lot together, but it has never been like this.
Feeding each other with this loving smile on their lips, never stopping the eye contact. Getting the crumbs off each other with soft touches of their fingertips, teasing the other while eating the leftovers.
Ei couldn't dream of such a future. She was an archon and, as such, destined to bring every lover who wasn't her soulmate the ultimate doom.
Some say it's just a superstition, but others will tell you sad tales of misfortune and death. Most of the lovers died. That must never happen to Miko! Never!
She sighted. Ei has already lived a long time and will most likely live for many more. Teyvat is also really big. Maybe her soulmate has already died, or maybe they will be born in a hundred years.
Who knows? Ei didn't.

Suddenly, Ei was doused in water. Her clothes were cold and wet. She could just see some children running away with fear in their eyes. The buckets were left behind. She sighed.
She couldn't even get angry at them because she was the one wandering absent-minded through the streets. The archon heard a giggle, a giggle so familiar in her ears that she already knew who it was before turning around.
Ei started in awe of the most beautiful person in her whole life.
"You found me!" Ei's body lost all tension after seeing Miko. The shrine maiden wore her usual outfit and had this bright smile on her face, as if she was seeing the funniest thing of all.
"How long do you want to stare at me, my dear Ei?"
The archon blushed a bit trying to find a good excuse, stumbling over the words " I was...the water."
Mikos's voice had concern in it and then took her sleeve and dragged Ei with her.
It took Ei too long to realize that they were on the way to the bathouse. But she could not resist Miko. Too great was the fear of hurting her. She knew how strong the shrine maiden was, but she did not want to risk it. She resigned and followed her into the building.
The receptionist nodded at Miko, showing how often she had probably visited this place before. The almighty shogun got pulled into the changing room, where the younger one had already started to get rid of her clothes.
The instantly flushed Archon looked everywhere so she wouldn't stare at the body of the woman before her.
With a sudden tug, the rope around her belt got loose, which made the already anxious Ei turn around to see a playful smile on the face of her companion, which just made her shine more.
"I will already go in and wait for you there," adding after some time, "I know where you live, so don't try to run away."
With a gulp, the archon followed the instructions, and somehow she found a white tenugui (traditional Japanese towel), with which she covered most of her body.
Going in, she thought Miko was sulky after seeing her appearance. It was probably just her imagination.
Again, with her mischievous voice, she called on the archon to help her.
"Would you be so kind to help me with my hair."
Ei couldn't say no to her pleading eyes and started to thoroughly rub the hair with soap.
Suddenly, she stopped, worrying Miko because of it "Is something wrong?"
How is this here? The same symbol that Ei could just see painfully in the mirror when straining her neck. It was here, on the neck of the shrine maiden.
A big calmness came over Ei, "Nothing Miko. I just wanted to thank you for bringing me here. "
A confused Miko could just accept this as the truth, while Ei began to wash the pink hair again.
I don't need to force myself anymore to stop loving you. From now on, I will try to make you fall for me. We will have an eternity of time to do so.
Ei's smile was full of loving sweetness as she looked down on Miko.
