Dr Grant stood looking at the x-rays, the tumour was huge and he radioed Dr Beckett to come check it. He arrived 5 minutes later, Lieutenant Ford in tow and and he shook his head.
"His medical was three days ago and it wasn't there" he explained
"After examining what remained of Dr Hewston, I can tell you this is the probable cause of the explosion."
"Exploding tumours, jeeze" grimaced Ford, as Carson looked at it.
"I'll have to cut it out, dispose of the tumour."
"Like hell you will" said Ford, "Rodney said no suicidal heroics and I think this fall's under that category."
"What you going to do, forbid me to operate."
"It's a ticking time bomb literally, it will take out the whole infirmary if it goes off. It will kill everyone here, I have my orders."
"Dr Beckett the tumour is swelling" said Dr Grant
"Is he sedated?" asked Ford.
"Yes he is out, he can feel nothing" said Carson.
"Right" said Ford, seizing them both and pushing them in the cupboard and locking the door.
"Open this door" demanded Carson, banging on it loudly.
"Sorry Doc, I have updated the Colonel on the situation and there is only one course of action."
He unplugged the machines and pushed the stretcher along the corridor and onto the pier. Heading towards the end, seeing the pulsing tumour in the man's chest. Dr Watson's breathing was getting more laboured and he turned racing away. The explosion behind knocked him off his feet and he dove to the floor.
Ford rolled off the pier into the water, as the heat and fire burned hot. He swam under water, back towards Atlantis and climbed up onto a ledge. The pier was covered in flames, as he saw jumpers dropping water onto the flames as he blacked out.
Carson and Dr Grant were slamming against the door, as someone opened it and Rodney stood there.
"What happened?" demanded Rodney
"Aidan wheeled Dr Watson from the room, he wouldn't leave me remove the explosive tumour."
"I should think not, where is he?"
"I wasn't exactly in on the plan, let's go Dr Grant" as they picked up their bags and left.
They got to the pier and Rodney looked round, checking his life signs detector.
"This way" he said, as they headed along the edge and down the steps getting to water level.
John and Evan looked round the pier, gaping at the destruction. The tower and storage areas were now a pile of rubble.
"Where is he?" said Evan, scanning the water anxiously.
"Lieutenant Ford, where are you?"
There was no reply, as a team of marines arrived and the checked the rubble a bit at the time.
Elizabeth rubbed her head, as she looked round the pier at the search. John came over, as he looked anxious.
"They have him, he was on a ledge of the pier, some bad burns and his airway is swelling. "
Getting to the infirmary, they saw Rodney and Carson talking in the office.
"Hey how is he?" asked John
Carson stepped forward, punching John and he staggered back as Evan blocked his way.
"Doc stop, what is wrong?"
"He ordered Ford to take our patient to the pier, he is dead because you didn't allow me to operate."
"Your life is too important Doc" said John, "it was the only choice" as he rubbed his cheek.
"Carson hey" said Rodney, pulling him onto his lap and hugging him closely.
"Sorry" said John, as Evan pulled him out the room and they got to a side room.
Dr Grant was stood by Aidan, checking him and shaking his head.
"Is he stable Dr Grant?" asked John, wincing as he spoke
"Yes he needs to go to a burn unit, I don't have the resources here."
"Ok it will be organised, I will send a message to the SGC."
"Your face Colonel, sit down and let me get you an ice pack. What happened?"
"Dr Beckett did it, he didn't agree with my decision about Dr Watson."
"He does, he just isn't thinking clearly."
A few months later Ford stepped back onto Atlantis, as he saw Evan and John waiting for him. A huge smile on his face, as he stepped forward and saluted to John and then Evan.
He had scars down the right side of his face and arm but he looked healthy and strong.
"Welcome back, how are you?"
"Really good Sir, I need to speak to you both in private."
They went to John's room, as he stepped forward kissing him and pulled back. He turned pulling Evan into a soft kiss too, as John smiled.
"Shall we...you know..?" he said, gesturing to the bed.
"Yes please, I need you both now. 3 months with no sex, I am...I feel like a virgin again"
"That will never happen" grinned Evan, pulling off his clothes and sliding into the bed. "Get in here Aidan, now."
John watched him strip off, sliding next to Evan and he undressed too. Evan was kissing each mark and scar softly, as Aidan lay tensely as John took his chin kissing his lips.
"Relax Aidan, it's just us" said John, sliding down his chest and licking his cock firmly.
"Oh yes" groaned Aidan, as Evan turned him on his side and began to lube up his hole slowly.
Aidan groaned, trying to squeeze his legs together but Evan had his legs trapped open and one leg draped over John who was sucking him deeply.

He was happy, he was loved. It was unconventional but his mother would support his decision no matter what.
Carson and Rodney had a week on earth, where they had arranged to stay at Carson's house. His mum had fussed over them both, fed them slabs of cake and organised an engagement party within hours.
Carson thought this had been prearranged but didn't think anything more, till Rodney's sister and family came in.
"Jeannie" said Rodney, as she came over and looked him over.
"You are looking very trim but...but we were told you had been in a life changing accident."
Rodney reached down, lifting his trouser leg and she saw the mechanical leg.
"Wow cool" said Madison, can I see it Uncle Mer?"
"Ok" he said, sitting down and lifting it to his knee and she squealed.
"My Uncle is a robot, that is so cool."
"Very cool" agreed Carson, "I am your Uncle's husband Carson and you must be Madison"
"Uncle Carson, I can call you that right?"
"Yes see all the other children here I am their Uncle too and they are all your cousin's once we get married."
"Wow big family, so you'll both wear suits and can I be bridesmaid?"
"We may need a head bridesmaid" he said, as she smiled
"I am off to play, I accept the job but I need a pink dress"
"Of course" as she smiled and raced off.
"She will keep you to that" smiled Jeannie
"I meant every word" he smiled
"This is Dr Carson Beckett, he is a geneticist and the Cheif medical officer on the mission.
"Nice to meet you Carson" said Jeannie, as Kaleb shook his hand too. "Your ring is beautiful, you chose that Rodney."
"I did" he said, had a lot of time while I recovered."
"How did it happen?" she asked
"Rodney gave his life to save everyone on the mission, he was rushed to hospital for a life saving operation but lost his leg. My hero"
Rodney took his chin, kissing him as Jeannie clapped excitedly and they blushed.
"You have changed Meredith, I am so proud of you"
"Thanks"
Carson and Rodney returned to Atlantis, to see John waiting there with Evan and Aidan.
"Hope you are ready to work, Elizabeth has called a meeting" said John
"Lead the way" grinned "Rodney, let's see what is next on the Pegasus agenda."
"Whatever it is, I am sure we can solve it" grinned Evan, as Aidan nodded.
"Course we can, bring it on" Carson chuckled
