Chapter Text
1 year later:
„How are you feeling?" Ejiro asked while tying Izukus tie neatly.
„Ready." Izuku stated, his jaw clenched.
Ready he was. Ready to get this over with.
Ejiro nodded, knowing what Izuku meant without saying it out loud with a stern expression.
It knocked on the door and immediately after the door opened, Dabis head poking in.
„Aizawa says to come down. We're leaving." Dabi announced and Izuku nodded.
Izuku took a deep breath and gave Ejiro a kiss.
„See you tonight." the greenette said and Ejiro nodded smiling.
„You can do it." the red head assured smiling and Izuku nodded again.
Izuku turned around and leaned down to his two omega mates who were sitting on the bed, watching with deep worried frowns on their faces.
„Love you." Izuku said softly and kissed both of them.
„Love you too." the both said in unison and Izuku chuckled softly, waving them goodbye before leaving the room.
Izuku let out a shaky breath as Dabi and him were in the hallway, walking towards the common room.
In the common room were multiple people already waiting for them.
Aizawa, the Bakugo parents, Tashibana Nato -the man who's family lives at Izukus old home- and Izukus lawyer, Tanaka Jun.
„Okay, let's go." Aizawa announced and all of them walked behind him, following him outside were a mini van waited for them.
Everyone took a seat, Izuku moved quick to sit down in the last row by the corner. Not feeling like having conversations right now.
Dabi followed his lead and silently sat down next to him.
The Bakugo parents were silently talking with their neighbor Nato. Over the past year, the families became good friends.
Aizawa drove and Jun sat in the passenger seat.
Izuku sunk a little further into his seat, avoiding leaning his head somewhere even though he wanted to.
He couldn't mess up his hair after Denki spent so much time with it.
He could feel his heartbeat in his ears and for the first time in weeks he was able to admit it.
„I'm scared." he whispered, only for Dabi to hear. He didn't expect kind words of reassurance. He didn't want them.
„I know." Dabi whispered back and Izuku sighed relieved. There was something so relaxing about that answer.
It meant that no matter how hard he tried to hide it, somebody knew.
The ride was long, but not long enough.
Izuku felt like time was moving faster than it was allowed to be, forcing him to face what he was scared of.
Aizawa parked the car and they all started following Jun inside the building.
The building was huge, Izuku was sure that he would easily get lost in all those intertwined hallways if Jun wasn't here to guide them.
They arrived at a double door and Jun turned around, giving one last nod and smile to everyone.
They all following her inside the a now very familiar large room with a high ceiling.
It was one of those buildings that was old, yet kept in good shape.
Jun and Izuku took their seats in the assigned ones and silently waited. The others took their seats somewhere behind them, silent.
Every once in while Jun would write something down, sometimes she would show it to Izuku, sometimes she wouldn't.
But Izuku couldn't focus on that.
He felt the presence in the room that was almost suffocating him.
He felt the glare, the hate.
And the time, that stupid fuck, suddenly felt like slowing down.
Izuku wanted to laugh at the irony of it.
He kept his eyes on his hands that were folded on the table, refused to even look in the direction of him and his lawyers.
Yes, lawyers. Plural.
Each of them took care of another allegation against their client.
Izuku didn't even know that was possible.
And finally the one everyone has been waiting for walked into the room, followed by people that were dressed the same way as he was.
Their robes long and since they were walking behind the pedestal, you couldn't see their legs. It's like they were floating, making their way into room, knowing that they were deciding Izukus fate today.
Everyone stood up, slightly bowing, showing their respect.
„Hello, everyone. Take a seat." the voice echoed through the room.
It was smooth, yet strong.
„My name is Judge Fukushi and with this we're starting the final day of case 0956 in todays courtroom in the Musufatu justice hall. Prosecutors and Defenders please step forward." the judge spoke, diving right into todays case without wasting any time.
Izuku took a shaky breath as he watched Jun, the prosecutor, and his fathers defenders walk forward to the judge, files in hand.
—————- TIME SKIP —————-
The tie Ejiro tied so neatly this morning was now hanging loosely around his neck, Izuku was sure that his hair was now it's usual curly mess from all the times his hands went through them nervously.
The suit jacket he was wearing was neatly hanging on his arm and the top buttons of his shirt were loose.
Aizawa dropped off Mitsuki, Masaru and Nato in their neighborhood. Jun decided to drive home on her own from the justice hall.
The last three arrived at UA when it was already dark. Most dorm buildings were already having their lights out.
Except for the dorm building of class 3-A.
The three of them tiredly walked to the dorm after Aizawa parked the van. The exhaustion of the past week hit all of them like a truck.
Aizawa lead the way and opened the doors to the dorm building, walking into the common area where the entire class was impatiently waiting for their return. Izukus mates immediately started running towards him, pulling him into a hug.
The touch and smell of his mates relaxed Izuku.
Shoto walked up to his brother and gave him a hug as well. Dabi ruffled through his little brothers hair and chuckled tiredly at his annoyed glance.
„We won." Izuku mumbled and he felt all of his mates arms tighten around him.
„It's over." Katsuki said softly and Izuku nodded, the effects of those words hitting him deeper than the verdict earlier.
Choking on his own sobs, he fell to his knees. A part of him was embarrassed that he broke down in front of the entire class, but the larger part, didn't care.
His mates followed him, saying sweet nothings into his ear, rubbing his back and holding him tight.
A hand on his head made him glance up and Dabi was leaning down, behind Ejiro.
„Come on, bud. You should rest." Dabi spoke softly and Izuku wiped his tears away before nodding.
He didn't care that he was acting like a little kid that just hurt themselves, because that's how he felt.
A hurt kid.
Dabi helped him up while his mates took a step back, knowing that Dabi would be able to calm their alpha better with this than they ever could. And that's okay.
They trusted Dabi to help Izuku through this. That they work through their pasts together.
Aizawa padded Izuku on the shoulder softly, giving him a tired smile.
Izuku bit his lip and nodded too.
Dabi guided Izuku to the elevator, his mates and Shoto silently following.
They leaned against the walls and made their way to the third floor.
Dabi pulled Izuku in a hug before walking in the other direction with his brother.
Dabi at this point had his own dorm room, but every once in a while he didn't want to sleep alone and stayed in his brothers room, a second futon ready for him in Shotos closet.
The brothers walked into Shotos room, waving goodbye.
The mates walked towards Izukus dorm and Ejiro softly took the jacket from the greenette and hug it on the chair.
The red head quickly but softly removed the seemingly uncomfortable clothes while Katsuki got him some comfortable sweatpants and a hoodie.
Denki prepared the bed, pulling the comforter off.
Ejiro helped Izuku to the bed.
Exhaustion was clearly written on the greenettes face.
The trail went for 46 days. All those nights in between Izuku had trouble sleeping. When he was confronted with his father who apparently made it his mission to always directly talk to Izuku. Even when he was giving his testimony.
A thread always clear in his voice.
At times Izuku grew angry. Where did he even get the confidence to be so arrogant when Izuku was the one having evidence against him?
At other times he was scared. Immediately back to the years of abuse, trying his best to just... survive. But thanks to Jun, Izuku never felt the need to please his father by agreeing with him. That would've thrown off the entire case.
Most times, Izuku dissociated.
Not listening to anything unless he was directly spoken to or when he was giving his own testimony.
It was scary at first, his consciousness not being there but yet... still being aware.
So yeah, Izuku was exhausted and he had every right to be.
As soon as the greenette laid down, his mates cuddled up to him and Izuku was out.
Soft snores were heard and the other simply listened to Izukus steady breathing.
Katsuki visibly relaxed and turned his head to kiss Denki on the forehead who was cuddling up to him.
Denki hummed satisfied and Ejiro smiled softly at their behavior.
„It's finally over." Denki whispered and Katsuki hummed.
Ejiro put his chin on Izukus head and inhaled the forest scent his mate gave off.
The past year was a lot of up and downs for all of them. Ejiro knew that Izukus trauma was basically relived and that the alpha had to work through it and learn how to live with it.
Thankfully Izuku agreed to keep seeking therapy with Nezu because he says it helps him. Katsuki also decided to continue therapy, the last year definitely showed the positive effects the learned skills had.
Denki was still too scared to go to therapy and none of his mates forced him to. They knew how hard it can be to accept that you need help from someone else. So they let Denki do it on his own terms.
Ejiro was simply happy that the exhaustion of the past year seemed to have ended today. The major part at least.
His mothers loved his mates just as much as Katsukis did. They even met up with each other without their sons and became good friends.
Dabi, after a lot of convincing from Shoto, agreed to visit his siblings at home while Endeavor wasn't there.
Natsuo and Fuyumi cried as soon as Dabi walked in and buried him in hugs.
They were aware of what Dabi did in his life, but they didn't want to talk about it. They trusted Nezu that Dabi got the punishment he deserved.
The two were just happy to have their big brother back.
Dabi wasn't ready to visit his mother yet and his siblings understood.
He understood that she was just as much of a victim of his fathers abuse as he was, but he couldn't help feeling like she let it happen to him. That's she didn't protect him.
The Todoroki siblings also met Izuku, their cousin. Happy to have an addition to their family.
The next morning, or rather afternoon, Izuku woke up.
Katsuki prepared Katsudon and the smell of it woke him up. His stomach growled as if it just realized how hungry it was.
Izuku smiled thankfully at his childhood friend and took the bowl, crossing his legs on the bed.
He silently ate the food that warmed him up from the inside when Ejiro and Denki walked in.
„Good Morning." Denki said smiling and kissed Izuku on the cheek before taking a seat next to him.
„Mornin'" Izuku said with a full mouth.
"You wanna stay here today? Doing nothing?" Katsuki asked and sat on the chair, spinning a pen around his fingers.
"I actually wanted to visit mom today. You guys wanna come?" Izuku asked and the mates smiled.
"Of course." Ejiro said and the other two nodded.
Izuku smiled softly and finished the Katsudon he had before going to the bathroom to take a shower.
Additional to the mates, Dabi and Shoto joined them as well to visit their Aunt.
Izuku bought a bouquet of lilies from the cemetery shop, his mom favorite flowers. They walked to her grave and Izuku started cleaning up the stone from all the dust and dirt, watering the flowers and putting the lilies in the middle.
Denki lit up two incense sticks and placed them in front of Inko Midoriyas picture.
Izuku squatted down and simply smiled at his mothers grave.
"Hey mom." He spoke softly, a hand padding the head stone.
Katsuki smiled softly, imagining how Izuku was padding auntie Inkos head who would be so much shorter than her son.
"There's a lot I need to tell you. But I think you'd rather just hear that I'm doing well. Which I am. Everything has been taken care of, mom." Izuku spoke before biting his lip.
"I miss you." Izuku whispered and retreated his hand to hug himself.
"Me too, Auntie Inko." Katsuki said softly, sadness in his voice.
"But you don't have to worry anymore, Aunt Inko. We'll make sure Izu is okay." Dabi said.
"Yes, so please. Rest In Peace now." Shoto said.
"We won't wait long until we visit again." Ejiro said.
"From now on, only good news. Promise." Denki said.
Izuku smiled softly at everyone before turning back to his mothers head stone.
"It's a long story and I'll tell you about it soon. But in the end it all worked out."
The end.
