It was December 4, 2018 Kim Seokjin's birthday as he sat on vlive remarking how Bighit’s high quality staff is being wasted on gag posters to decorate his office. Jimin came on first, a pretty red bow tied on his head offering himself as a present. However, as amusing as it was, Jin was obviously embarrassed. He walked towards him and teased him saying, “How am I supposed to open my present?” and he proceeds to pull his hair gently to play along with his gag gift.
Namjoon came in a moment later dressed as if he was going to the coldest country in the land, the two boys making fun of him for a moment before continuing their conversation and giving birthday wishes. Namjoon leaves first and Jimin follows some moments later after telling Jin he would give him his real present later.
Once they left, Jin finally began playing Maple story but not before reading ARMY fan ID’s. J-hope came next, giving Jin his birthday hits and talking to him for a moment before leaving.
30 minutes passed, Jin was very much into playing ‘Maple story’ and talking to ARMY he struggled once his fans kept sending friend requests for a moment urging them not to send them anymore because after he would delete his ID right after this gaming session.
Contemplating how to deal with the influx of players and the lagging of the server he was on, Namjoon suddenly entered and placed a hand on his shoulder and leaned in to see his computer screen.
Jin was playing a game, the same game that he always talked about. The game where he spent every New Years money he ever received, birthday money, some of his salary, heck the company even partnered with them knowing he was such a fan of the franchise.
Namjoon smiled, enjoying the view of his pillar, engrossed in something he truly enjoyed.
"AH! there's too many people on this server!", Jin said frustrated.
Namjoon’s smile rose to his eyes.
‘Cute’
“Why don't you just move servers Hyung?”
“I can’t. This one has a very special mission that once completed you get a new item. I swear, if you played the game you would understand but, every time I tell you to play you get distracted and never get far enough that why..”
‘Yeah. He’s rambling all right.’
“You fell again.”
“I know. It's so hard to see my character with so many people on this server.”
His character leaped some more and yup. He made a mis-step again and fell to the bottom again.
“AISH. okay. I’m just gonna move to a different server again.”
Namjoon smiled again, this time resting his chin on Jin’s shoulder.
“If you do that then can you still get the special item?”
“Of course. The mission ends tonight so I think I still have time.”
His finger busy clicking away he didn't notice when the weight on his shoulder lifted and he was left again to his own devices.
An hour passed. Jin or rather Seokjin rested his head against his desk. His keyboard, cake, and red ribbon placed neatly to the side.
‘What will happen to Seokjin when ‘Jin’ is no longer needed’
Namjoon wrapped his arms around Jin's neck, pulling him to his chest.
"What's wrong?" His voice is soft and full of concern.
"Nothing. I’m just tired, that's all. How was your day? You kept coming and going.", His voice steady.
As if sensing something was amiss, Namjoon moved to Jin's side and leaned over to place a chaste kiss on his forehead.
"It's okay." he said emphatically.
From personal experience he can take a guess at what weighs his heart. The truth behind the stage, notoriety and especially persona. To become something he wasn't and to have the responsibility of maintaining fake emotions when necessary because that's what it means to be a part of Bangtan.
Jin lifted his head and turned his chair to face Namjoon and gave him a faint smile, a sign that he understood meant 'Thanks for understanding'.
For a second Jin's attention was on Namjoon's lips and on impulse he pulled him down by his blouse and kissed him softly. He blushed furiously and while hesitating decided to go with the flow and placed his hands on Jin's shoulders. However, Jin was the first to pull away satisfied as he left Namjoon a blushing mess.
"Hyung, what was that for?" Namjoon said, covering his face.
"It was just ppo-ppo to cheer you up", Jin responded unapologetically.
