Inside the magic academy, where students range from humans to aliens — Aster Arcadia, a celestial being who lived for over a million years — is now resting at a residence he and his friends had shared.
Although, resting may not be the case. The celestial one is currently shaking his foot up and down restlessly, several thoughts playing inside his head as a crippling anxiety grew larger and larger; leaving him ill at ease.
He and his friends had taken the job of streaming for a company called Nijisanji, and their first ever debut will be happening tomorrow, on the 24th of July to be exact.
And boy was he feeling like a nervous wreck.
It was already late at night and he had to take a good and relaxing rest to prepare for the big following day, but how will he be able to do that when a sudden wave of stress and anxiety took over him? Everyone had already gone to their respective rooms, considering the clock ticked its hands around midnight.
Aster did all sorts of things just to help him sleep. He ran around his room, trying to tire himself more than he already is, he stared at the ceiling, waiting for himself to fall asleep. But, no matter what he did, his mind would always wander back to the thought of his debut tomorrow — both excitement and nervousness pound his heart.
“What do I do, what do I do, what do I do!” He chanted despite his voice being muffled by the pillow covering his face. A groan escaped his lips, as he rolled around the bed back and forth with eyes closed, hoping to pass out at any given moment.
After a few moments, he grew tired from the twisting and turning his whole body just did, but apparently not enough for him to doze away. He took out the cushion away from his face and let out a deep sigh. “I’ll go drink some milk, I guess.” He said to himself, giving up on the thought of sleeping, and accepted his fate of insomnia.
Making up his aching mind, Aster went downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed a glass in the process, soon lazily pouring the milk onto the cup. He was about to put the carton back, when his elbow accidentally nudged the mug, causing it to fall and break.
Unbeknownst to him, a certain someone awoke to the sound of glass shattering. Although the sound was not all that loud, due to the alien’s sensitive hearing, he jolted up in surprise. After hearing the incident, he acted out of reflex and immediately went down to check on what caused him to waken.
As he went downstairs, Ren saw a glimpse of hair that color coded purple and yellow. His mind instantly filled with worry, assuming that his friend had been in trouble. Upon this, he fastened his pace and finally got to the kitchen. “Aster!” He called out with a hint of confusion in his tone.
The sudden mention made the purple haired turn his attention to the alien, that sighed in relief when he realized he was safe. “What happened?” Asked Ren, slowly walking towards Aster, who was crouching on the ground with a towel on his hand.
Aster pursed his lips before answering. “Nothing really major, I just spilled some milk on the ground,” he replied, “no worries.” He gave Ren a wavering smile for reassurance, yet the latter was not convinced; considering the melancholic and tired look he had earlier.
Ren decided to sigh instead rather than persisting. “I’ll help you with that.” He offered, grabbing another piece of cloth and cleaning up the mess that was made. “Thanks,” muttered the other, “just be careful of the shards.”
After a while, they’ve finally finished removing all the glass and milk from the ground. Aster was about to go back up and ponder about life once again, when a hand held his wrist, stopping him in his tracks. “Ren?” He tilted his head in confusion, watching as his friend hesitated. “Is something bothering you?” The latter finally asked after a long series of silence.
Aster let out a huff, not expecting for Ren to ask that at all. “It’s nothing, Ren.” he let out a breathy and tired laugh, adding a small quivering smile. “You can go back to sleep now.”
But the raven haired didn’t let go, and instead pulled him closer. “Do you wanna…” The alien muttered something so quiet, that Aster had barely heard the last few parts. “Pardon?” He asked for it to be repeated, as he swore he saw a faint blush coming from his friend’s ears.
Ren coughed to clear his throat, before looking at him directly in the eyes. “Do you want to sleep with me?” He stated much more clearly and firmly than before.
“Eh?” Aster let out a yell of confusion, a creeping blush forming around his face. “Sleep with you?!” He shouted quietly, as to not wake the others up. Ren nodded without hesitation, confused as to why his friend had such a vigorous reaction to his statement.
Well, now Aster is confused on why Ren is confused.
Until a thought came to his head.
Oh.
He meant literally sleeping with him, not whatever the other was thinking about.
Still, he blushed at the thought of even sleeping next to Ren; but, he didn’t dislike it.
Maybe he’ll give this method a chance?
After a long pause, Aster pursed his lips together and nodded hesitantly. Ren’s expression instantly lit up upon knowing his response, so he wasted no time and dragged them both to the star’s bedroom. Ren could just bring them to his place, but he knew Aster would find it more comfortable to rest in a familiar and cozy area.
Aster pulled away once they got into the room and headed towards the bathroom. “Some milk kind of spilt on my shirt,” he said, “you can go lay down now.”
Ren did as he was told and laid down on the mattress, staring at the ceiling, waiting for his friend to go out of the comfort area. After a few minutes, he heard the door click open, revealing the celestial being in an oversized t-shirt, basically drowning in it.
Aster gradually made his way towards the bed, soon sinking onto it awkwardly. The bed was big enough to fit both of them, thankfully – but they couldn’t help but feel a bit uncomfortable with the atmosphere around the room.
Until Ren couldn’t take it anymore, and turned sideways to face the other. “Can I hug you?” He asked, causing Aster to flinch from the sudden offer, yet something in him felt the need to accept. So, he slightly nodded, waiting for the raven-haired to make his move; which he did, slowly wrapping his arms around the latter’s waist, pulling him closer and closer ‘till his head rested on his chest.
Aster had trouble figuring out where to put his hands, placing it on Ren’s torso, hearing his heartbeat grow faster. Both of their breaths were getting heavy, yet they felt so safe and warm with each other. It made the anxiety that engulfed Aster’s head suddenly wash away like waves around the ocean.
The purple-haired felt his eyes getting heavier, soon dozing off to sleep, unconsciously putting his arms around Ren’s neck and pulling him closer. The latter didn’t mind though, tightening his grip from Aster’s like he would disappear once letting go of.
The next day, both males had trouble waking up, not wanting the moment to end.
