It had been relatively quiet for the Danvers sisters. Alien crime in National City had been at an all time low this week. Whether it was because of the almost unbearable heatwave passing through the city or because of Supergirl’s presence, neither were sure but it didn’t bother them as it increased their much needed sister time. Today’s bonding activity was a sparing session the DEO facility.
“So I was thinking we could do a girls night tonight since things have been quiet lately.” Alex said, as she crouched down to avoid Kara’s attack.
Kara dodged the other agent’s kick. “I would love that, but I can’t tonight. Tomorrow maybe?”
“Since when do you have plans on a Tuesday night?” Alex asked as she moved out of Kara’s incoming fist.
“Oh you know.” She trailed off and landed a kick to Alex’s abdomen.
“Nice,” she grimaced. “but really, I was thinking we could catch up on Homeland.”
“Uhm, maybe not?”
Alex stopped her rebuttal and stared at the Kryptonian. “Why are you being so secretive?
“Me… psh. I’ve got no secrets.” She stepped off the mat to fix the Kryptonite levels.
Alex grabbed a bottle of water from the edge and followed her sister. “Kara, I’m serious.”
“It’s nothing Alex, really. I just wanted to be alone tonight… you know, have some me time.” She gave her a smile.
Alex raised an eyebrow in suspicion. “Sure, okay. Tomorrow then.”
“Come on Cat,” She nearly pouted. “Please?”
“For the last time, no.” She couldn’t look over at the other blonde. “Your puppy pouting isn’t going to do it for me. I’m immune to your charms.”
Cat closed her eyes at the sound of Kara’s seductive laugh. “Oh really. So, this.” She ran her fingers down Cat’s arm until goosebumps formed. “This isn’t doing it for you?”
She swallowed and took a deep breath. “No. Not at all. You know me better than that.”
“You forget, I can hear your heartbeat.” She smiled but it faltered slightly.
“I’m sorry Kara but you’re not going to win.” The pure determination in Cat’s voice was almost enough.
The younger woman sighed. “You do know that I have X-ray vision, right?”
Cat feigned shock. “You wouldn’t.”
When she finally looked at Kara, she shrugged. “I can’t believe you would cheat at scrabble.”
They both laughed. “I only did it once when Alex and I were playing. I felt so guilty afterwards that I almost started crying and confessed a minute later.”
She reorganized her tiles. “I’m not surprised.”
“That I cheated or that I almost cried?” When Cat didn’t answer, Kara threw a pillow in her direction.
She caught the pillow before it hit her square in the face. “Oh, how very mature of you.”
They were interrupted by a knock on the door. “Oh, takeout’s here.”
Cat shook her head at Kara’s enthusiasm. “You know with the number of times you order from there; you should invest in shares.”
“Haha, very funny. Despite the image that you portray, you eat this almost as often as I do.” Kara smiled and got up but immediately sat back down.
“Kara what’s wrong?” Cat furrowed her brows.
“Can you... uhm, can you get the takeout. I just… got lightheaded.” She said, slowly.
Another knock on the door pulled Cat’s eyes away from the younger blonde. “Okay,”
A couple minutes later, Cat placed the cartons in front of them and sat back down. “So, I was thinking that we should do something next Tuesday.”
“Mhm,” Kara mumbled with a lazy smile.
Cat had drawn the chopsticks to her lips but stopped when she noticed Kara swaying a little. “Kara, are you okay?”
“I-I dunno. I feel weird... fuzzy. Kinda like I’m… floating.” She bit her lip for a moment before diving into a fit of laughter. “But I’m not moving. No. I am right here.”
“You’re slurring your words too.” She was starting to panic. “Are you drunk?”
“Am I?” She pointed to herself and hit herself in the chest with her finger. “Is this what it feels like?”
“You’ve had half a bottle of wine… Kara, that’s not normal.”
“Nope, it isn’t… oh no. I’m drunk. Wooow.” She giggled, her eyes widening.
Cat placed her hands on the Kryptonian’s shoulders. “Kara, this is serious.”
“I know.” She hiccupped, suddenly not finding the situation funny anymore. “I-I don’t know what’s wrong.”
“Where’s your phone? I’ll text your sister.” She stood up. “Don’t move please.”
“Kara this better be important. You know I was just about to fall asl-asleep.” She faltered. “Cat Grant, this is… I wasn’t expected you, hello.”
“Hello Alex.” She gave the agent a half smile and stepped out of the way. “We have a problem.”
“We? Problem?” She questioned before entering the apartment.
“Aleeex, hi.” The Kryptonian flailed her arm as a greeting before trying to stand up. “So there’s a small problem, ouch.”
Cat caught the younger blonde as she stumbled but not before she hit the corner of the counter. “Maybe you should just stay sitting down Kara.”
“Okay,” She replied, smiling up at her. “You’re pretty.”
Cat blushed as she ushered a soft reply. “Not the time.”
Alex crossed her arms and didn’t miss the older blonde rubbing Kara’s shoulder for a moment. “Somebody want to explain what’s happening?”
“Never seen a drunk person before?” Cat snipped before receiving an elbow to the rib. “Sorry, it appears that your sister has become intoxicated on half a bottle of wine.”
“that’s not possible.” She scoffed as she looked at the now empty bottle. “Even if it is a really good red.”
“Hmm, you know your wines.” She noted. “I’m aware that it’s not supposed to be possible. But look at her.”
The two women looked at Kara as she gave them a wide smile and waved both hands. “hii.”
Alex took a deep breath. “Can you get her some water while I take a look at her.”
“Sure,”
Cat brushed passed her and Alex stopped. “That’s a nice perfume. What kind is it?”
She gave the agent a sceptical look. “It’s Hermes, hasn’t been released to the public yet.”
“It doesn’t happen to be made with Chocolate Cosmos flower extract, does it?”
“Yes,” she responded, surprised.
Alex released a sigh of relief. “It mimics Kryptonite.”
“How did I not know this? Wait, did I- did I know this?” She pouted.
“No, it’s such a rare flower and needs to be mixed with a specific set of ingredients to create a problem for you.” She said, shaking her head.
She crossed her arms “Oh,”
“It doesn’t make sense though. You would need to be exposed to it constantly and in close contact with it. Since I know if Cat’s wearing it, it’s way out of your price range… How it’s affecting you is confusing me. Unless…” They both stared at the agent in silence as realization dawned on Alex’s face. “Oh my god! You’re sleeping together!”
“Alex!” She whined.
She threw her hands up. “It’s the only way!”
Cat stared at Kara for a moment. “Well, you were wondering how to tell her… this seems as good as any.”
Alex pointed at Kara, “You and I are gonna have a chat later.” She then pointed to Cat. “Us too.”
Cat raised her eyebrows before responding. “I look forward to that.”
“Alex, seriously?” Kara pouted, and out the corner of her eyes, she saw Cat trying to hold back a smirk.
The two Danvers women stared at each other for a moment before Cat cleared her throat. “For the record, we’re not just sleeping together. We’ve been dating for months.”
“Yeah, Cat not helping.” She exclaimed, her hands flailing. “but… accurate.”
“Alright, we’ve got to get to the DEO and fix you,” She gestured in Kara’s direction before addressing the older blonde. “I take it you’re going to stop wearing that perfume.”
“I don’t know,” She winked at Kara. “I can think of some uses for a ‘human’ Kara.”
The agent scrunched her nose in disgust as Kara giggled. “Oh I want to hear those… you always have great ideas.”
“When we come back… and I’m far, far away from earshot please.” Alex spoke as she rolled her eyes.
“okay, fine. You’re driving because I’m not… flying.” Kara managed to say before dissolving into a fit of laughter.
“Go with your sister dear, chop chop.” Cat leaned over and kissed the top of the other blonde’s head. “I’ll be here when you get back.”
Kara leaned into Cat’s touch and sighed. “Okay but after I want cuddles...and pot stickers… and you.”
“Still in the room Kara!” Alex exclaimed.
“Right,” She reply sheepishly. “Sorry… lets go before I get embarrassing, please.”
Alex raised her eyebrows in response. “Before you get embarrassing?”
Kara smacked her sister’s arm before being helped up. “Not funny.”
“Actually, it kind of is.” Came Cat’s response and even Alex laughed. “Goodbye darling.”
Alex and Kara made their way to the door while Cat made her way to the bathroom for a shower.
Cat shook her head and chuckled as she heard Kara trying and failing to whisper. “Soorrry I didn’t tell you. How mad are you but you can’t be mad. You-you said for me to get a life and… and I am.”
