Chapter Text

Eddie peered out the window and immediately flopped back down to hide when he saw Steve standing by his car. “Robin Mary Buckley!”

All she did was laugh. “Cmon man it’s a little funny!” “No it is not! The man I’m gonna to the stupid prom is waiting outside for you while the sign and idiotic flowers are on the table!”

Robin laughed harder, not being able to talk anymore. Eddie started lightly swatting at her. “You are preying for my downfall!”

Little did he know that they trailer walls are not thick at all so the Steve Harrington heard all of this and couldn’t help but laugh.

So he has the sign and…flowers? Made. Good to know.

Now while all of this was going on between Robin and Eddie, Steve spent the day (with Dustin) making a mixtape for Eddie to ask him to prom.

It was a simple playlist that goes as such

I was made for lovin’ you - KISS
For whom the bells tolls - Metallica
Holy Diver - Dio
Rainbow in the dark - Dio
Heavens on Fire - KISS
Love it loud - KISS
On your Knees - WASP
You’re in love - Ratt
Love bites - Def Leppard
Mystery - Dio

And granted, Dustin picked most of the songs and sifted through the ones Steve thought would be good on their.

On the front it said “It would rock if you went to prom with me.” And on the back it had the songs listed. And currently he had it in his pocket so Robin could listen to it and approve if it was Eddie’s style or not.

He eventually went up to the door and knocked gently. He wasn’t going to barge in and ruin Eddie’s surprise with the poster. So he waited until the violent shuffling stopped before peaking in.

“Robin, we gotta go…hey Eddie.” He said the first part in faux annoyance and the other part was nothing short of filled with adoration.

Robin rolled her eyes.

“Hey Stevie.” Eddie said, almost copying his tone. Robin nudged him gently as if saying ‘tell him’.

Eddie rolled his eyes. “Hey Stevie, do you want to hang out Saturday? Just us though.”

Steve smirked and rose a brow, “Asking a humble person such as myself on a date, Munson?” He said through the blurry vision

Eddie stammered a little and eventually came to a, “Do you want it to be a date, Harrington?”

Steve stepped forward into the trailer and nodded. “Yes Eddie, I’d love to go on a date with you. Saturday, 4 P.M. please be ready by then so I can take you somewhere.”

“I thought I was taking you on a date?”

“You can take me somewhere after. I wanna show you some music?”

“Steve baby, I love you but I don’t wanna be suffering listening to ABBA all day.”

Steve sputter a little, “baby?”

Eddie looked back up from where he was staring, where the poster was. “Yes?”

Robin tried so hard not to laugh and eventually just had to turn around and cover her mouth.

“That’s not what I- okay. The first song is by KISS.”

Eddie perked up a little. “Not my favorite band but I’m surprised you know them.”

The dirty blonde rolled his eyes gently before grabbing Buckleys wrist and dragging her off. “Well I best be off, gotta get this one back before curfew.” He said while walking out the door before stopping after he out her out the door.

Steve turned around, “and Eddie?” “Hm?” He smiled and blew him a small kiss. “Keep that will ya?”

Eddie pretended to catch it and hold it close to his heart, “Always Harrington.” And with that he was out the door for real this time.

And once he was in the car he let out a rather childish squeal. “He called me baby?!”

Robin rolled her eyes while putting the newly made tape in. “I know I was there…also I was made for Loving you seems very on the nose.”

“Maybe I was?”

“Ew. Just ew. You’re so cheesy I cannot.”

Steve laughed as he began to drive her home. By the time they got there, got Robin some fast food, and grabbed a movie for her from Family Video they had listened to the whole tape.

“I think he’s gonna love it. I think it’s a pretty cleaver thing to do.”

Steve beamed. “Thanks Buckley!”

Robin stepped out of the car, “make sure you write his name on the tape so when he goes to change it he knows it’s for him.” She said simply before slamming the door shut.

Steve nodded and grabbed the tape, a marker, and wrote a comma then Eddie’s name. Even putting a ridiculously cheesy heart to dot the “i”.
